M2 Media Group Reviews (305)

Review: This is the third time I have received Essence magazine from M2 Media Group. This magazine is against my religion and personal beliefs and I do not want it sent to my house. This is the third address it has been sent to now. This is also the SECOND complaint I have filed with the Revdex.com against M2 Media Group. I have repeatedly asked to be removed from this mailing list and I will not be harassed by this company again by receiving this mailing. I do not care if it is free.

Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)

I would like to be removed from this mailing list and the subscription be cancelled. STOP HARASSING ME!

Hello,

I have contacted Essence Magazine directly to have them cancel your subscription.

I apologize for the inconvenience.

Review: M2 Media provides a personal intrusive service to organizations I may purchase from by sending me UNSOLICITED MAGAZINE SUBSCRIPTIONS and making it VERY difficult to stop the magazines from coming and cluttering up my mailbox.Whether or not I have to pay for these subscriptions or not (as the M2 Media recorded announcement so declares it is never possible to speak to a human being) I never want to receive any unsolicited magazine subscriptions nor other mail. This so-called free service is an intrusion, a headache and time consuming to stop since there is no way to contact M2 Media Group personally. The magazine companies claim no responsibility nor authority to stop the subscriptions from being sent this is abusive.

Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: No settlement requested - for

Prevent M2 Media from sending unsolicited magazine subscriptions to people without their consent. Prevent retailers from giving out names and addresses without their prior consent and of course being advised that this is happening.

Hello -

Your cancellation request will be forwarded to the publisher for processing. Please note that based on the timing of your cancellation you could still receive another issue.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT ACCEPT the response from the business.)

This is not the only magazine I began to receive and have not been able to stop - I am also receiving GLAMOUR, FAMILY CIRCLE and others which I have thrown away. The answer from the company is the same as in their recorded voice mail message namely: no hidden costs nor further obligations - other than filling up my mailbox with unwanted material and me being responsible for discarding the unwanted material. I object to the procedure that my name and address is passed along to the organization without my express permission and with no warning and opportunity to OPT OUT of these so-called free additions to my specified on-line purchase. How do I prevent this from happening in the future???

These are all standard responses and does not address my main issue SO do I have to place a complaint against FragranceNet.com!?!

Why is this the default position - you are getting paid something by the magazines for having this service - where is my option to "OPT OUT"

Review: I just received [redacted] magazine in the mail yesterday. I called [redacted] to find out why I am getting the magazine and was told that, a agency, M2 Media Group, LLC, ordered them. [redacted] can not cancel my subscription. I was told that I have to call the agency directly to cancel my subscription. When I contacted M2 Media Group, LLC, there is no customer service to answer the phone call. I don't know why I have magazine subscriptions that I never authorize to order and purchase through my name and transaction. Without my knowledge or permission, M2 Media Group, somehow got my information and subscribed me to unauthorized magazine. I do not want to receive any more magazine that I did not subscribe to. I need them to remove me from their mailing list. Foremost, I do not want to receive any bill from them or the magazine company. Please stop subscribing me to magazines. I did not authorized any of these subscriptions. This is identity theft from M2 Media Group, LLC.Desired Settlement: I need them to put an end to this by stop subscribing me to magazines that I did not subscribe to or authorized them to subscribed me to. I do not need to receive any bills. Please help! It's identity theft . Please investigate this company and cancel the subscription.

Review: Just received 2 copies of [redacted] magazine that I did not order. After checking the magazine's customer service web page, I determined the magazine was ordered for me through M2 MEDIA GROUP with a customer service number of ###-###-#### under account number[redacted] I was unable to contact a real human being by the given phone number and web site given in the automated message for closing the subscription does not work. In doing research about M2 MEDIA GROUP, I came across numerous online complaints about the company, including those on the Revdex.com website. I do not want this magazine subscription and I have concerns about their stock reply to complaints in which they say the subscription is some kind of bonus from a website I ordered from in the past.Desired Settlement: I would like the [redacted] magazine subscription (account [redacted]) canceled immediately. I also want to be informed of what website I ordered from that generated this "gift" so that I can refrain from doing business with said website. I also want to be placed on any list for not doing business that M2 MEDIA GROUP might have. If I receive any new subscriptions in the future from M2 MEDIA GROUP, I will consider it harrassment and contact the Florida State Attorney's office.

Review: Ordered 3 magazines for a one year subscription. Was billed 3 months early for all three renewals. No notice or permission. Called and got directed to their web page. Entered my info and it says that I don't have any active subscsriptions there. Called, left voice message. No RESPONSE. E-mailed several times, NO RESPONSE. I would like my money back and for them to NEVER charge my credit card again. They do not have my permission to do so.Desired Settlement: I'm most seriously wanting them to shred my credit card number. I want my money back, at least for the Fast Company $9.97 because I don't like it. Otherwise, I want them to STOP charging my card. Period. I don't ever want to do business with them again. They are horrible.

Review: I received a random subscription to [redacted] Magazine today, which I neither ordered nor wanted. When I called [redacted] magazine to find out about the subscription, I was referred to M2 Media Group in order to cancel. [redacted] stated that they would stop any future delivery of the magazine; however, any billing needs to be worked out through M2 Media Group. Prior to today I have never heard of M2 Media group, nor have I done business with any of the partner sites they list. The subscription seems completely random. I attempted to reach the M2 media Group to request they cancel the subscription, but I am disturbed that there doesn't seem to be a way to interact with a live human being. Again, I didn't request this magazine in any way, shape, or form nor do I want the subscription. I Googled M2 Media Group and the returned search indicated 1,000s of complaints. Wondering why the CT State Attorney General can't shut them down?Desired Settlement: Cancel the subscription and any billing.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: I never asked that the magazine stop. I only insisted on knowing how they got my information. I recognize [redacted] as a retailer I did business with, and that was the point of my complaint. I wanted to know how they got my information, and to be sure that they had not been given any private information of mine without my consent. The main reason I had to file a complaint (to find out the helpful information that has been provided now) is because M2 Media does not return phone calls or answer their phone.

[redacted] has given me this subscription, and I accept it now that I know why it is coming. If M2 media stops the subscription before September, I would be forced to file another complaint.

Thank you for you help with this non-helpful company.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: M2 has cancelled the subscription and says they need my address to restart it. They were only supposed to explain how that got my info. They were not supposed to stop a gift I was given without such a request.

Review: Unable to reach company through any links provided. New links do not allow for problem-solving. In this case, have tried to cancel magazine subscriptions using numerous methods, none of which has been acknowledged. E-mails to me have informed me that my credit card will be charged $61+ for continual service. This is the second such occurrence in several months. I have tried to use e-mail, and written cancellation requests mailed back on their promotions.Desired Settlement: Subscriptions cancelled

Business

Response:

Review: I signed up for a 3 month trial of [redacted] magazine as a promotion through a purchase from another site. After completing the information I was not sent an email or any contact information for this company. It only shows as [redacted] on my bank statement. I have tried to cancel this subscription before the promotion ends and I have not been able to contact anyone. When I contacted [redacted] they directed me to cancelmag.com which didn't work either. I have left 2 voicemails with M2 media and sent 2 emails. They do not respond to emails or voice mails. I now have been charged $33.54 for a magazine subsription that I do not want. I read their responses to other complaints dealing with the same issue and they state that there are no hidden costs, obligations, or automatic renewals. This is not true. If that was the case then I would have been able to contact someone prior to being charged for the subscription. If their statement was true my subscription would have ended after the 3 month trial. On another I signed up for the magazine on November 25, 2013. I knew it would take a few weeks to receive an issue. I received my first issue the second week of January. Since then I have only received 2 other issues. Why are they charging me for a subscription 2/3/2014 if my 3 month trial doesn't end until March?Desired Settlement: I would like to end this subscription and want the $33.54 refunded back to my bank account.

Review: M2 Media Group has been identified as acting as a sales agent for [redacted] magazine. They have collected information about me including my name and address without my permission or consent. They have entered a subscription in my name for [redacted] magazine that I have not requested or authorized payment for and/or have paid [redacted] magazine for the subscription. I was informed by a [redacted] magazine representative that M2Media Group is handling the bill for this subscription. The [redacted] magazine representative also informed me that their company cannot cancel my subscription because M2Media Group ordered the subscription. I called M2Media Group and spoke with [redacted] to find out why and when this company received my personal information for this subscription. [redacted] informed me that my information was not in their system and he could not find my account. He asked if I received a bill and I stated no. [redacted] then said a company that I have done business with in the past provided my personal information to their company so I could obtain complimentary subscription(s). I informed [redacted] that I have a problem with this entire system and how could his company pay for subscription for me; however, dont have my information in the system. [redacted] stated he could not grant my request to cancel my subscription because he could not find my account in the system. Although it is a complimentary subscription, I find it objectionable that my personal information was used without my approval and now claim they dont have record of me in their system.Desired Settlement: I want written acknowledgement that this subscription has been canceled immediately and that they will never again send me any product or service that I have not specifically requested and authorized. Any personal information referring to me must be purged from M2Media Group's data base, M 2 Media Group will pay any outstanding fees to [redacted] magazine and/or any other company they have released my personal information to for service, M2Media Group will reimburse me for any charges that I may incurred in reference to this matter, M2 Media Group will not sell or distribute any of my personal information to any other party or use any personal information about me that they obtained without my permission for any reason. A letter to that effect will be sent to me confirming this settlement.

Review: An unauthorized charge was made on my account from this company.

Earlier this week is the first time I have noticed a shipment of Travel & Leisure magazine accompanied with a bank charge on my debit card. An attempt to contact the magazine company was made and I was informed that a 3rd party company (M2 Media) was responsible. Calling the number given to me by the company was a waste as there was no human interaction only automated messages. I would like an explanation as to how my card information was given and a complete refund of my money. On the companies record it says "your card has not been charged" this is a lie. Desired Settlement: I would like my money to be refunded and any other subscriptions and charges to be stopped.

Review: I started receiving magazines in the mail that I didn't order. I contacted the companies that sent them and they referred me to M2 Media Group.

I never authorized anyone to send me any magazine subscription, nor would I ever!! I tried calling M2 Media Group only to be told by some automated junk that I need to contact them via email. This is ridiculous and WRONG!! I want all the subscriptions cancelled and my information deleted from their system immediately. I don't need my credit ruined by some scam of a magazine company!!Desired Settlement: Cancel any subscriptions that I have NOT ordered immediately and NEVER send any kind of bill or anything to show up on my credit!!

Hello -

In response to your note, you are receiving [redacted] and [redacted] magazine as a result of redeeming your [redacted] or [redacted] currency (or possibly a friend/relative redeemed their Rewards currency to send you a gift).

There are no hidden costs, further obligations, or automatic renewals associated with your subscription. There was no credit card information passed to us.

Your cancellation request will be forwarded to the publisher for processing. Please note that based on the timing of your cancellation you could still receive another issue.

Review: I started receiving [redacted] magazines out of the blue in the mail. I never ordered these magazines so I went online and looked up [redacted] to find out something about these magazines. I was told that I had to contact M2 Media Group, LLC as they are the ones who placed the order. They said I must have ordered something online and the magazines may have been sent as a thank you. I have tried to contact the M2 Media Group at the number that ** provided but no one answers. I went on M2 Media Group's website and under their "Contact Us" tab followed the directions to cancel the order. This was done over a week ago and I have not received any contact back from them. I printed out the cancellation submission email and the confirmation of receipt document from M2 Media Group that was provided at the time I canceled the order on their website but have not heard anything back from them since. I received another [redacted] magazine in the mail today (3-19-15) so I am concerned that they will try and bill me for these magazines.Desired Settlement: I would like for the magazines to cease and my information to be deleted from their records. I do not want to receive anything from them and I don't want them to try and bill me later for a magazine order that I did not place. I would also like an explanation as to how they got my information and to verify that I will not be charged for these magazines.

Business

Response:

M2 Media Group is involved in obtaining [redacted] magazine subscriptions, doing so WITHOUT GIVING NOTICE.
You have to actually contact the magazine and have them search down the subscription information to have it cancelled.
Then when you call the M2 Mag telephone, all you get is a run around.
I am contacting the local district attorney, in addition to the United States Attorney about civil litigation and criminal prosecution.

Review: This group has sold my personal information to others and has signed me up for a magazine subscription I did not authorize. I can't cancel this subscription as I am not the one who authorized it M2-media did. I can't get anyone with M2 to answer the phone or return my calls. I am very angry about this invasion of privacy and then ignoring my inquires. This must be illegal, if it is not I will do what I can to make it so.Desired Settlement: I want them to stop selling personal information and stop sining people up for magazines without specific authorization or a request to do so. If this was in the fine print somewhere, TAKE IT OUT. I would like to see this group out of business. I will pursue this however I need to.
