M2 Media Group Reviews (305)

Review: I started receiving [redacted] magazine a few months ago in the mail. I did not authorize or request any subsciption from this merchant. I wasted time researching how to cancel this magazine. I found out is was from M2 Media Group and gave the account number [redacted]. This company makes it very difficult on cancelling this service on-line or by phone. I was not able to speak with a live customer agent by calling ###-###-####.Desired Settlement: 1)I would like to know specific details how this company received my personal information. 2) Was I ever billed for any magazines and do they have my credit card number on file, so that I can contact my financial instution and report fraud. 3) I would like a specific contact person to call me to verify the subsciption has been cancelled.

Response:

Review: I received two copies of [redacted]. Along with a bill from [redacted] magazine, I contacted [redacted] directly. they told me that a third party placed the order. They cannot unsubscribe me due to the fact they got the order from This company, M2 Media. I never gave, requested, ordered. nor

authorized my name to placed for this magazine subscription. I called the number I was given and they do not answer there phone. On there

service it states that they do not charge you. However [redacted] told me that I was charged $10.00. In addition to the remainder of the bill which was

billed to my home. There service says nothing about clearing your account. Nor refunding for something you did not order. Please help. Thanks.Desired Settlement: Stop having magazine sent.

Refund of the $10.00 which was somehow billed.

Clear the remainder balance that [redacted] is billing me for.

Response:

Review: This group has sold my personal information to others and has signed me up for a magazine subscription I did not authorize. I can't cancel this subscription as I am not the one who authorized it M2-media did. I can't get anyone with M2 to answer the phone or return my calls. I am very angry about this invasion of privacy and then ignoring my inquires. This must be illegal, if it is not I will do what I can to make it so.Desired Settlement: I want them to stop selling personal information and stop sining people up for magazines without specific authorization or a request to do so. If this was in the fine print somewhere, TAKE IT OUT. I would like to see this group out of business. I will pursue this however I need to.

Response:

Review: I started receiving [redacted] magazines out of the blue in the mail. I never ordered these magazines so I went online and looked up [redacted] to find out something about these magazines. I was told that I had to contact M2 Media Group, LLC as they are the ones who placed the order. They said I must have ordered something online and the magazines may have been sent as a thank you. I have tried to contact the M2 Media Group at the number that ** provided but no one answers. I went on M2 Media Group's website and under their "Contact Us" tab followed the directions to cancel the order. This was done over a week ago and I have not received any contact back from them. I printed out the cancellation submission email and the confirmation of receipt document from M2 Media Group that was provided at the time I canceled the order on their website but have not heard anything back from them since. I received another [redacted] magazine in the mail today (3-19-15) so I am concerned that they will try and bill me for these magazines.Desired Settlement: I would like for the magazines to cease and my information to be deleted from their records. I do not want to receive anything from them and I don't want them to try and bill me later for a magazine order that I did not place. I would also like an explanation as to how they got my information and to verify that I will not be charged for these magazines.

Response:

Review: I purchased a [redacted] for [redacted] beginning of 2013. I selected two magazines, at one point I went four months without getting an issue of either magazine and all other issues came about 7 weeks apart. In January 2014 I was sent a renewal form stating that I owe 25 dollars. I never said I wanted to renew nor did I agree to paying a second year. I tried to contact the company with the given e-mail however it was returned because the "user's inbox was full". The company has no phone number listed.Desired Settlement: I want my name taken off the subscription list. And any money I "owe" to be taken away.

Review: Money magazine received today which I did not order. The #XXX-XXX-XXXX for Media Group is not working. Emailed & asked to stop sending magazine.

I would like M2 Media group to stop sending Money magazine. I did try to reach them by phone, but ended up emailing my request to stop sending the magazine.

Thank you for your assistance in handling this matter.Desired Settlement: I just want M2 Media Group to stop sending the magazine which I never ordered.

Review: I have been unlawfully "subscribed" to [redacted] and [redacted] magazines without my permission. This has been a violation of my privacy when doing business with a company(ies) in the past. Whichever brick and mortar or online store or service as violated my trust and privacy and illegally signed me up for these magazines. The company(ies) that use M2 Media Group neglected to offer me a choice to subscribe or not because if they had I would have seriously and quickly refused.

I have written my state's [redacted] office, the [redacted], and posted online on a complaint board so far. I have immediately contacted the magazine customer service centers and they just passed the buck onto the M2 Media Group as the culprit who's continuing to send these magazines to me even after cancelling my "subscription" online on their website.

Never in my life have I bought these magazines in person let alone subscribed to them! I do not want any more magazines coming to my addresses and I had better not be fraudulently billed for them. If possible, could you disclose what/which company(ies) are behind this so I don't shop from them again? It's a terrible way to treat customers!Desired Settlement: The cancellation of these fraudulent "subscriptions" to [redacted] and [redacted] thus stopping future deliveries. I do not want to be fraudulently billed for them either because I didn't subscribe.

Response:

Review: There is no way to contact this company without providing further information - there is a phone number that leads to a recording that instructs you to only contact via a form on thier website which asked of course for your email. I did not make a purchase with this company yet I am getting product - I have no idea how they have any of my informaiton to start with and being unable to find someone to resolve this without handing over further contact information I think is unacceptable.Desired Settlement: I want them to call and explain and I want them to change their policy to allow a customer to get in touch with a live perions - as I could be dealing with a theft issue and now I have to wait on them to get around to contacting me to know how this issue came about to begin with.

Response:

Review: I received [redacted] Magazine in the mail addressed to me. I called [redacted])and told them I had never subscribed to it. They said they would cancel it, but for me to call [redacted] and * for operator. I called and the recording said "M2 Mags". I tried and tried to get someone to talk to but never could. There was the option to cancel the subscription that I had never subscribed to. There were two options to cancel: go on website [redacted] or write M2 Mags, [redacted]. I am afraid to do either of those options for fear I will end up getting into a worse situation then it already is.Desired Settlement: Cancel the subscription, take my name or any information on me completely out of their files and not be billed for anything -- to cease and desist

Business

Response:

Review: I was "signed up" for [redacted] magazine by M2 Media Group despite not knowing how they solicited my name and address. They don't have any way to cancel a magazine subscription once it is started. They "Say" to go to their website (http://[redacted].com) but the webpage always says "there is a problem". This keeps happening over the last 2 month of trying to cancel. There is no live person to speak with to cancel this horrible magazine that comes to my mailbox every week! This is fraud!Desired Settlement: I want to receive confirmation from M2 Media Group that they will STOP sending me these magazines that I didn't sign up for and will take my name off their list!

Review: When ordering something on the phone on a (recorded) call. I was asked if I wanted the free 3 month magazine. I said no like 3 times the girl gave me attitude and was like its free! I still said no please ask them for the recorded call. This [redacted] magazine starts to show up so I call the [redacted] magazine and they say they can't cancel it I have to call there sister company they work with and cancel the magazine I never signed up for. So I try calling them( m-2 media group and you get just a recorded message (###-###-####) so when you go to the site and try to cancel the it doesn't work. Please see other complaints about same issues online. So now I have wasted 3 hours of my time I will never get back trying to cancel something I said no too. Please ask them to listen to recorded call and see for themselves what there employees are doing. Which by the way great scam by the time everyone gets there stuff canceled they make money off everyone dealing with them!Desired Settlement: I want nothing but the magazine to stop coming and for them to not apply any charges to my credit card. I also would like proof it's cancel and zero charges apply.

Review: I have received two different magazines in the mail that I never subscribed to. When I contacted the magazines they said that the subscription came through MagSelect/Blue Dolphin.com, which is a part of M2 Media Group. I contacted customer service to inquire how they obtained my personal information and asked them to please remove my information from their database. It is a month later and I still have not received a response. I just emailed them again today and let them know that I would be filing a complaint with the Revdex.com.Desired Settlement: To my knowledge I was not charged for the magazines but they have content that I do not want in my home and I do not want them coming to my mailbox since my children often get the mail. Review: In December 2013, I placed an online order for shoes that included a [redacted] magazine subscription (valued at $19.95) with my purchase. If I preferred not to receive the magazine, I could check a box and request a rebate for $19.95. That same evening, I printed out all the correct forms and mailed out my rebate request to M2 Media. Imagine my surprise when mid-January I received the magazine instead of the rebate. From January 22 thru the end of February I called 3 to 4 times a week trying to get an answer on why I received the magazine instead of the rebate. My main contact was [redacted] at ###-###-####. She never returned calls; I left many, many messages and the only way I ever spoke to her was when she answered the phone. Her only "resolution" was to send an email to corporate asking for any information, which she stated she did each time I was able to speak to her. She even offered up that maybe my rebate request was never received - I challenged that by stating where else did they get all of the information needed to send me the magazine instead? Finally in frustration, I asked for the corporate address so I could follow up myself. She stated that she didn't know the address(!) even though I am sure it is printed on her paychecks. She also did not know the corporate email address either as she bundled up all emails to be sent to corporate and passed them along to her supervisor (who remained unreachable and anonymous). At this point I determined I was not going to get any satisfaction from this company other than the small triumph I feel when I throw the monthly magazine into the trash can.Desired Settlement: I would like what I have wanted since the beginning - my rebate of $19.95.

Business

Response:

Hello,

Your [redacted] subscription has been cancelled. As one time courtesy, we have processed your rebate. Please allow 4-6 weeks for rebate delivery. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution (if it occurs) is satisfactory to me.

However, due to the difficulty I encountered, I have become pessimistic regarding M2 Media and would like to keep the claim open until I actually receive the rebate check. I will notify the Revdex.com as soon as the check has been received and at that point, yes, everything will be resolved to my satisfaction.

Sincerely,

Consumer

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

I understand you are the one I need to contact regarding my complaint #[redacted] against M2 Media. Back on May 19, I “conditionally” accepted the resolution proposed by the company. My magazine subscription was to be terminated and I was to receive a rebate for $19.95 within 4 to 6 weeks. It has now been over 8 weeks and I have not received my rebate, but lo and behold, I have received an additional magazine!

I am not sure exactly what steps need to be taken at this point, but I was wondering if M2 Media needs to be contacted again….please let me know what I need to do to resolve this issue.

Thank you for your attention,

Review: I never signed up for any magazines, however, I am receiving 7 different types. When I called all of the magazine companies, they said they could not help me because I was signed up by M2 Media Group and would have to contact them. I called the number and of course I couldn't speak with anyone. A company should not be able to sign me up for anything and then expect me to pay for it!Desired Settlement: Discontinue all magazines and never sign me up for another magazine or any other product/service again!

Response:

Review: M2 Media Group has ZERO costumer support; no one answers there phone, it is ONLY a recorded message. We have received 10 copies of the same magazine with variations of our name but the same address. We get a couple copies a day and can not find out how they are being billed or subscribed since no "person" answers a phone. Someone is ROBO-subscribing us to [redacted] and M2 Media Group hides behind not having to answer the phone.Desired Settlement: We want to get to the bottom of how we were subscribed to all these magazines with different variations of our name so we can put an end to this. We want a full refund of whatever they used to secure the subscription (money or reward point) which we cannot track down without being able to communicate with them.

Response:

Review: I bought a pair of much needed winter boots through [redacted] on December 10, 2013. The selling point for me was that they were offering a $19.95 rebate if I chose not receive a free magazine subscription. I read the fine print to see that I needed to uncheck the box in order to decline the magazine subscription and be eligible for the rebate. After completing my purchase, I followed the hidden link to the rebate form, filled it out, and mailed it, along with the other required paperwork, hoping to receive my rebate in 6-8 weeks. My husband began receiving [redacted] magazine in his name because his name is on the [redacted] account I used to order the boots. Once I realized where the subscription must have come from, I contacted [redacted] and was directed to M2Media's website, where I filled out a form On February 27, 2014 to inquire about the status of my rebate and received and automated message that said

Thank you for contacting our Customer Service Team!

Your email has been received. We appreciate your patience and will work hard to respond to your email as quickly as possible.

Best Regards,

Customer Care Team

I never received a response from an actual person, but the magazine was never delivered to our house again, which was not even requested by me.

On May 14, 2014, I went back to the m2media website and filled out their form again restating my problem and requesting a response. On May 30, 2014, I sent an email message to seven email addresses related to [redacted] and m2media group that I found by searching online. I explained the sequence of events, stated that I wished to receive the rebate, and attached copies of the original completed rebate form I filled out and the order confirmation page that were required for the rebate. I never received a reply.

On July 31, 2014, I finally received a canned response to my May 14th contact that said:

Hello -

Unfortunately your rebate request was denied because the rebate offer is limited to those customers who decline the magazine offer during checkout. Our records indicate that you are currently receiving magazine as a bonus with your purchase.

I apologize for any inconvenience.

Sincerely, [redacted] Customer Support

If you feel that further assistance by email is required, please be sure to include your original correspondence including your complete name and address.

I replied to this message with my frustration that I did indeed decline the magazine offer when I checked out, that I am unsatisfied with the canned, impersonal response, that I am on a strict budget and paid special attention to the fine print and details that were required of me in order to get a rebate, that I am not receiving the magazine, and that I was very dissatisfied with the poor customer service, as this was the first contact from them since my first attempt five months earlier. I stated that I still expected to receive my rebate because I did follow all of the requirements, and I requested to be informed of contact information for someone higher up to take my request to. I also stated that if I did not receive a reply or a rebate check in the month of August, I would file a complaint with the Revdex.com. Obviously, I did not receive either because I am filing this complaint.Desired Settlement: Check for $19.95 sent to me by mail.
