I had a window replaced and the salesman quoted me for a product they didn't provide. Additionally, the reason why I took the offer was for the entire window and installation/replacement of damaged material is covered. I am currently displaced (Active Duty Army) and my wife said the contractors showed up hungover (Verbally admitted), installed a window that we did not agree to, and did nothing for the original reason why I said yes to the contract. I was on leave and personally paid for the install and the terms. This salesman had this window, told us it was solid enough to protect from noise, wind damage, and bullets. the window could open in several locations and easy to clean. The screen on the window was super resilient and so on. He told us that it would lower our insurance and electric bill. Also, the install would cover the previous water damage surrounding the present window. He stated that this was company policy... I can provide pictures and names. My wife has been calling customer service for 2 months.

I want to apologize for the issues that have lead us to this point. Not to put this out as an excuse but rather as an understanding as to how this came about, Our *** had resigned from her position for a brief time the service request that were sent to her were not received. We did get that address setting fixed but missed your request. I will be having ***, my *** reach out to you to schedule a service appointment. At this appointment we would do the following:

Remove the in proper sill stop that was applied.

Install the correct style and fitment.

When replacing the interior stop and exterior wrap, any rotten wood that wasn't' replaced will be addressed at that time. Noting we don't replace water stained wood that is in solid condition.

Remove the exterior metal wrap and sealant.

When replacing the exterior wrap we will replace the drip cap that the installer reused and is is rippling.

The installer will be accompanying my *** when this service is completed.

As far as the window style installed; I am a bit confused with sales comments and your's of the window not meeting contract. The window you received is what was on contract. the window does open at multiple points, has a durable screen, reduces sound, It meet and exceeds the Energy star rating for the environment it is in. those energy ratings will save you money and possibly homeowner insurance fees. However; I think you would agree that that those savings are minimized by only doing one unit in the house.

Please feel free to contact me directly or through our service department as we will be reaching out to you for these repairs.

We do take serious our employee to customer relationships. I have never had this claim before and that is not saying it did not happen. I believe if you say that it did then it did. There was no report of this issue prior your Revdex.com claim. At the end of each install the installer is to call the field manager and go through a closeout call which I wish Kelli would have address then so it could have been taken care of right away. The install that referenced his condition is no longer working with Mad City Windows. the *** and my *** will make sure the work is done correctly and an apology for the situation that you and your wife have been through And I apologize for that as well. We do monitor our installers for many things that reflect their condition, clothing, and other professional appearance items, as they do come in every morning to pick up the installation products.

I will also speak to the *** to review this salesman's clarity and sales approach as we do not go in with a smoke and mirror sales tactics.

Someone reached out and scheduled an appointment for Wed. I don't want to continue to go back and forth on this but I am standing my ground on the work and the promises made. To be clear, I said no to the service three times because I was going to do the job myself. The promises made by the salesman was to remove all rotten wood and to do a custom install. Please observe the pictures of the "custom install". My wildness to pay for the service included that aspect. Again, this is not the service I paid for and my wife tried to call you guys several times before I got tired of it and called the Revdex.com. If I was home I assure you I would've addressed it before the installers left, and perhaps they wouldn't of even made it through the door considering the circumstances of their condition.

thanks.

The gentleman who came to look at the door we wanted to replace was very informative. After we were scheduled the crew came and quickly completed the job. It looks nice, it opens so smoothly.

No caulk on upper trim in shower cause major water leaking and damage to the lower level bedroom and living room. Called the company 4 times and when they sent their dishonest plumber Who tried any wrong doing. They then sent a man named Nate who said water damage was because of the way they installed the shower curtain and they would be back the next day to start repairs. This was in April and they refuse to return my calls. This is supposed to be a lifetime warranty of product and work. I now have 4 holes in my shower walls plugged up with caulk on an 11,000 shower. I still continue to pay for this shower . So wrong on their end. I have thousands of $ in damage. This shower was installed for my disabled daughter and now we have mold issues

Mad City Windows & Baths Response • Jun 01, 2020

The information that *** our plumber at Mad City found after his inspection is that the floor sheeting under the shower showed water stain, but after running the water for several minutes and directing the shower head at the trim piece that *** pointed out was not caulked. He stated he area of the trim was not leaking and if it were, the amount of water that damaged the ceiling would not have gotten through the small un-caulked trim. She had called back later and demanded a different inspection because she thought *** was dishonest. We have never had an issue with *** and he would not have been reprimanded or rewarded for not approving a repair. I then sent Nate to inspect and he focused on the trim that *** pointed out and said we would be back to remove the side wall to make sure of any water damage from the trim issue. When the materials came in we went back to do that and the wall was determined to be dry and not having water stain. The issue was determined to have come from the the curtain location. We ordered a new straight rod to install in the same holes as the curved rod and this would eliminate the issue of the curtain falling out of the shower.

What I now believe happened, is my service tech reinstalled the curved rod temporarily and this created 2 sets of holes. We were unaware he had done that. We would never expect someone to accept the extra holes on something that we share the liability on. I state share because at the time of install these items are installed in the location the homeowner approves.

Needless to say we would redo the end walls as a layover, this would cover the extra installation holes. Then *** can either keep the curved curtain rod or switch to the straight rod. We also found out that Jason our drywall service company was not reassigned to the repair after he was removed from the results of ***'s inspection.

Jason with our drywall service company will go and remove the ceiling insulation, spray a second application of mold inhibitor, and repair the drywall ceiling. We do not believe there is active mold growing and what *** sees is water stains on the wood.

In the end I will have Bill my service manager contact *** to set up the repairs. Jason should be able to start the ceiling repairs as we are waiting for the wall materials to come in.

Mad City was great every step of the way. From the initial home visit, measurement visit, and installation they were professional and thorough. They provided the quality shower/bath as promised. I am glad I made the decision to team with Mad City!

Our low entry shower was installed earlier than expected and our installer was both professional and friendly. We love the entire look and the safety bars and seat. Thank you!

I made an appointment for a estimator from Mad City Windows and Baths to come to my home located on ***., for Monday, May 4, 2020 at 2 o'clock to give me an estimate on remodeling my bathroom shower and tub. No one showed. I called at around 2:45 and spoke to a male rep who told me that I was on the schedule and couldn't understand why no one came to my house. I asked that the appointment be rescheduled and that a manager or owner contact me, but I have heard back from no one.

Mad City Windows & Baths Response • May 18, 2020

We apologize for the inconvenience on this. We did have a scheduling conflict with the representative and we did attempt to call to reschedule but we did not reach anyone when we called. We will reach back out to the customer to reschedule the appointment.

Extremely happy with the product and the crew who installed them. exactly as we expected and Mad City is definitely top notch in customer service.

I was extremely happy with the services, product and people who did the work.

Very fast instillation and no clean up! Crew called to see if the could come before our scheduled time.

We had our shower installed Friday 5/1/2020. The installer assured us "it was guaranteed not to leak". I waited over 24 hours that you are suppose to wait for the calking to dry. I took a shower Saturday evening and there was a large puddle on my bathroom floor and the floor mat soaking wet. I called Mad City right away and left a voicemail. I tried calling again Monday morning 5/4/2020 with no answer. I finally got a hold of someone Monday afternoon. They sent the installer out to "fix" the door leak Wednesday 5/6/2020 afternoon. I showered this morning and there is a bigger leak than before. We were promised we would not have any leaking by many employees at mad city. They were very rude and belittled me when I told them that. They said they never promised that and to just keep water away from the shower door. That is very hard to do in a shower. When you pay over $12,000 for a shower you expect it not to leave a huge puddle. I am looking to have them fix the problem or not charge me the ridiculous amount that they did.

Mad City Windows & Baths Response • May 08, 2020

Customer had a leak in the shower door which could not be seen until shower was used was explained to her by the installer when he came back to fix the issue. Second leak happened 1 week after install there was a standard crimp that failed which is very rare and completely undetectable. We responded to this leak within hours of the customer calling in and having our master plumber on site to inspect and repair the issue. We do our best to avoid these situations and we do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. At this time all leaks have been addressed and no further issue exists.

We had windows installed recently. Sky lights were installed incorrectly. We had severe leak from the beginning and now have damage to drywall. Our remodel is on hold due to this improper installation of sky lights. Also there is window sealant sprayed onto the siding and will not come off.

Mad City Windows & Baths Response • May 07, 2020

I have spoken to Amy yesterday and have an appointment scheduled with them for ***, our *** to go to the *** residence and view the install and find a resolution. The appointment today is set between 2-4 today.

Mad City Windows & Baths

Mad City did a great job. We couldn't be happier with the quality and professionalism of the crew and the salesman. Very pleased with the overall experience. our windows look great and have lowered our electric bill considerably.

Mad City Windows was to build a bathroom except for the toilet which was already there, to include a wall to enclose the bathroom and install a shower and cabinet with vanity /faucet in our basement. The contract was signed at the end of January 2020. All work was supposed to take 6 or 7 days. They were to move our washer and dryer to a new location and rerun the electric and dryer vent to the new location for them to make room for the new wall. They built the outside wall for the new bathroom (including electrical) and dry walled it in so the shower could be installed on March 11, 2020 and it was. The plumbing inspector came 2 days after the shower was installed and told us we couldn't use the shower until the electrical inspector came. They did not have the Building and Electrical permit for the building of the wall and the electrical at the time this was completed. Building and Electrical permit request was submitted on March 18. During the week April 13-17, the electrical inspector made them open up the walls so that he could check the wiring and approved it. The drywall was supposed to be ready to paint but it wasn't. They were supposed to put trim around the door frame, by the shower, toilet and vanity. They cut pine boards used those instead of trim. The workmanship for the door frame wasn't square so the door doesn't fit. They ran the dryer vent back to the original opening which is directly next to the cold water pipe so when the dryer is used is causes condensation to run down the wall above the vanity were the mirror should be which is not were the contract stated the dryer vent. The shower vent should be vented where the dryer vent is now. This has not been done so the vent isn't venting anywhere. They haven't created the new vent hole above the dryer (away from the water pipes) which was supposed to be done May 2, 2020. They started to put the drywall back but did not drill for new vent. They did not tell us when they will be back to continue the whole job. They also ran the financing through Green Sky in March when the job is no where close to being finished. It states that they will not bill until job is done. Their business did not shutdown to COVID-19.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

To date, no one from Mad City has contacted us to discuss the complaint.

1. the financing still has not been reversed. Mad City was not supposed to put the financing through until the job was completed

2. the work still has not been completed, however, they are working sporadically to get it done.

3. The discount (or in this case, the refund, due to the financing already having been put through) in the original complaint has not been addressed.

Regards

We are currently working with the customer to resolve all issues.

They were very informative and professional. The day of installation, their representative was professional and friendly with the most respectfulness to our home when going in and out of it.

We had windows installed a year ago, and that was a nightmare. The initial installation was done very poorly and the windows didn't function. They had to come back months later to fix those issues. They claim to stand behind their product, but we are still having issues. In the main bedroom, the side window is almost impossible to latch. I thought I was going to break the latch that's how hard I had to push and it took 10 mins just to latch the windows. A window in the kitchen is impossible to close normally. You have to push on the top every single time while pushing down to latch it. For $17,000 for 11 windows in a 1000 sq ft home, I expect much better quality than this. They have a lifetime warranty, but this isn't even an issue with damage. This is from poor installation. Obviously we weren't opening windows in the winter, so we just discovered this now. We are also having an issue with the shower door they installed. One side is uneven and doesn't stay closed completely, there is a half to one inch gap. It is impossible to reach an actual person when calling them as well. If they stand behind their product, I need someone to come out and fix these issues.

Mad City Windows & Baths Response • Apr 29, 2020

We have made contact and are currently working
through the issues with the customer.

They did exactly what they said they would do and in the time frame they gave us.

Kept us informed. Showed up on time. Products are quality. Crew was helpful and nice.

I would recommend Mad City Windows & Baths to everyone. They did an excellent job, have an excellent product were very friendly and fun to work with.

The entire process was quick and easy. From initial appointment, financing, and installation.

We need a replacement window and started the process in November of 2019. We have a lifetime warranty on all replacements, free of charge. They keep telling us the window is in process of being ordered and even stated that it would be on a truck on 3/9/2020. Still no response from ***. He now is not responding to emails. I was told by him and customer service that the window replacement would be of no charge and installed for free. The warranty they claim to be so good is worthless if we can’t get a replacement, especially within a month, let alone 6 months.

Mad City Windows & Baths Response • Apr 28, 2020

is no longer part of Mad City. this may hay have been the reason for not receiving a response from him. Do to the COVID 19 we had suspended service installations unless they were deemed essential because of risk of injury or property damage. The material to repair your window had just came in a few days prior to our layoff on 3/25/2020.

We have recently just started doing service repairs again. I should be able to work in the service around your schedule any day this week or next week.

Feel free to contact me directly at ***
