Mad City Windows & Baths Reviews (%countItem)

First of all the salesman the day that he came to my house gave us false information on the warranty on the windows saying if they break for any reason they will fix them. Not true second the crew did not show first day was late the next then took three more days over a six month period to finish. All because they Did not put in correct the first time and four windows had to get taken out that were new because they were no out of square. Even though there paper work states there windows are within 1/32” square. Also they left a mess of nails all over in the snow. And when asked to have a discount for all this I was told I can get 10 percent but if anymore they would have to ask owners witch will probably just take the ten percent away from me. But all I got was more paper work stating that I can not talk or complain about mad city. Also that I could not report to Revdex.com. So as of now it’s been six months and still not done and these windows cost 20,000$

We are currently working with the customer to resolve all issues.

Apparently Mad City cares more about their Revdex.com complaints than customer calls to their office. My shower was installed in April 2018, and the sliding doors have always been an issue. Last August I contacted Mad City in New Berlin to fix the doors because they were easily getting stuck. A service person came out and temporarily got them functional, then told me someone would get in touch with me about a permanent repair. In November the doors became practically unusable so I filled out another repair form on their service website. Again, someone came out to take photos and assess the problem. He told me the glass doors and track they sit on need to be replaced. He also said someone from the office would be in touch with me "within a couple of weeks" and left the doors stuck open on one side. That was three months ago. A couple weeks ago I called to speak with the customer service manager but she was out. The person I talked to told me the parts had been ordered. I never heard from the customer service manager and it had been at least two weeks, so I called yesterday. The customer service manager was at lunch, but the person I spoke with told me she'd have her call me THAT DAY. The customer service manager did not return my call yesterday or today, even though since the problem was assessed three months ago (for the second time) I needed to know if they're avoiding the job and I needed to bring someone else in to replace the doors and sue them for my expenses. I have a lifetime warranty so they are obligated to remedy this situation (there were even other mistakes made before the job was "finished.")

We had Joe from Mad City come out to give us a quote for new windows and doors in our house. We were very impressed with how he handled everything, he explained everything and was very through in the measurements he took. Their pricing was awesome and gave me the best price up front with out me having to go back and forth with them for hours to get a better deal. On top of their great pricing they also offered 0% financing! When it came down to having the windows installed they were very professional! They were here right on time, and got right to work! You can tell that they took pride in the their work and truly cared! When they were finished they vacuumed every room they were in (not just by the windows, but the entire room)! Overall my experience with them was great, they are a very professional company and truly care about their customers! Thanks for doing an awesome job!

Great product, great service, very professional and timely. Definitely recommend this company

Mad City Windows did a great job! They were very professional, and protected furniture and other household items. They did a beautiful job on the windows, and cleaned everything up when they were done. The Windows are great looking and help to keep out the Wisconsin winters. I would highly recommend them if you need new windows!!

I purchased windows and then a tub to shower conversion. No problem with the windows, The shower came with a shower pan, 3 panels, 2 corner shelves, rain shower system, 2 grab bars 12"/24" and curved shower rod. Since seeing it, I can't equate it with $12,000 and not feel scammed. I have talked to the salesman and production manager and was told it was sold as a package so nothing can be done. I beg to differ an opinion that there was an error in pricing/product and find them hard to believe since they couldn't explain the cost.

Mad City Windows & Baths Response • Feb 18, 2020

Customer was explained that we don't give piece pricing and, that we do package pricing. I also explained that the total cost of the project was not just materials and that he had a double life time warranty that transfers to the next home owner if he chooses to sell his house. We have jobs that regularly sell for this price and, higher the customer is calling in 2 months after the install was completed. He stated that he was happy with the look of the shower. I explained that he did sign the contract and knew the full amount when the sales representative was in the house which he agreed. This appears to be a case of buyers remorse.

[Please type your response here.]I mentioned that my vision was bad when shown pictures so when seen done it was different. Seeing the shower made me realize how much the dumb Warranty added at least half of total cost. Sucks to be me, buyer beware !

To Whom It May Concern,

At this point we are happy to sit down with the customer and go over a breakdown of the project and the components. The project is based on our normal pricing that we have for our Bath/Shower Packages. Pricing can vary among companies that do this sort of work but this is very much in line with other companies both locally and regionally that perform this type of work i.e. acrylic bath systems. The pricing is based on manufacturer recommended pricing as well. Again if the customer has further concerns on this we can send the representative back out to the home to sit down and go over the project.

Regards,

Mad City Customer Care Team

We were very pleased with the replacement of our Sliding Patio Door . The final outcome looks and works great......Thank you !

This is follow up to the original complaint against Mad City Baths. I received a phone call from Justin regarding the settlement of the previous complaint, but as of today we still haven't received the letter of intent to pay. I talked with Justin on 2/07/2020 he was going to send the letter out that stipulated the compromise of contract and payout: would have no effect on the lifetime warranty. Today 02/13/2020 have received no communication. They had 5 days to get the paperwork to us and that is up. So the new compromise is 2000.00 refund. As you can read this company doesn't communicate very well. Justin whom I had many contacts with has left the business. He said if I stayed at the 30% refund I was initially asking for the Lifetime warranty would be void, so now I'm asking for 2000.00 instead of the 1300.00 in the last verbal contract which had ended on their default 07/12/2020.

We have reached out to the customer to resolve the issues.

Pros: Installation crew did really well, and notice a big difference in the current windows..
Cons: when salesman comes to your house you are told everything you want to hear in order to buy the product. We were asked what we wanted to spend per month and our limit, in the end we are paying almost double what we wanted to spend. As well as we were told the total cost, but due to the undisclosed interest thru the company you pay it makes you partly almost 1.5 -2 times more than what was agreed on... we were told the certain length of getting the windows made... when we called when it was that time and we did not get a call, we were told they were really busy and behind and didnt even get started on our windows that had to be custom made. When we tried to cancel we were given the run around and heard nothing but excuses. We had agreed also at the time where they had a perk of dinner and movie, but I lost the paperwork to it and when I asked what could be done I was told they would get me another certificate, but for almost 2 weeks could not connect besides messages, certificate was never received.
I was asked to fill out a survey after completion of installation, and basically was informed they would follow up with any issues or problems... to this day was never contacted almost 6 months later. They got their sale and dont seem to care past that .
I honestly think 3 stars may be to high due to the customer service issues, but product seems durable for now and installation was ok.
Recommend? Prob not.

Mad city installed windows and a sliding door for us. They were right on time for appointments, they worked with us to give us the look we desired and they communicated with us through each step of the process or if there were any changes. We did have a misunderstanding with the type of window we wanted. Once it was discovered they took full responsibility and there was no additional fee. We also had some issues with frost after the work was done, but they have been prompt to come and look at the issue and work with us to resolve it. They went above and beyond to patch a new section of exterior wall and match our siding (which was not easy to find) even after we told them they could put whatever scraps they had there. The workers were also great with our curious children and were kind enough to interacted with them while they worked. Our windows and door look very nice and are exactly what we had hoped for.

I have been going round and round with people at this company for some time now and getting very frustrated. The salesman, ***, lies and we are now stuck in the middle of a mess he created!
Here is the situation: My Mom, my sister and I were at the mall and approached by a woman who was working on behalf of Mad City and offered us an opportunity to receive a discount on the installation of a new shower simply by scratching off ticket. My sister and I had received $500 off install tickets but my mom got the 60% off – so we threw out the 2 other tickets. The lady even wrote down on our appointment card we were signing up for 60/60/60 sale – 60 dollar gift card, 60% off install and 60 month interest free. We set up an appointment and they sent a salesman named *** to the house. He presented the package and we all agreed – verbally – that we would receive the 60/60/60 deal and agreed to move forward. He told me that he needed the scratch off ticket to go with him as his proof and he put it in his pocket. His entire attitude changed once he knew he had the sale. He turned very pushy and mentioned 6 or 7 times he had to hurry, he had to get to Milwaukee for his next appointment and kept rushing us through the explanation of the paperwork. He just kept asking us to initial here, sign here I have to get going, we need to move this along. I asked for a copy of the paperwork he said I did not need it and it was all good it's what we just talked about – I asked again for it – he said I did not need it and it was all good. Now I learned the hard way – NOT to trust your salesman because I have since found out and I did not get what we agreed to – I only got $500 off – and I am not getting interest free I am getting charged 5.99 interest.
The installation went well, they was very pleasant and cleaned up after themselves. After they left we discovered they moved our handle to turn on/off the water lower than where it was before (our old shower had it higher than the average, it was hear near our waist now it's by our knees and we were told everything would remain the same, it did not). We asked that be repaired and was now told that cannot be fixed either. We were told “it is what it is” and we must be ok with that even though we were told that everything would be installed to the same specifications that were there before they started the installation, because they didn’t want to rib out everything to fix it so we said we guess we have to live with it this way. I asked Jason, who came and checked out the shower after we called them, about our 60/60/60 deal and he saw our slip with our appointment on it and it clearly states 60/60/60 deal. He asked me for my paperwork. I replied what paperwork?? – the one that *** refused to give me? Because he was too hurry to get to Milwaukee? He told me I would have to call the office to get it straightened out.
I called and spoke with *** in Finance Department, she has been working with us and I stated I should be receiving the 60 month interest free now, but am awaiting confirmation. I feel I should be getting a credit for the installation – the original 60% off! But no one from the company will give us a credit for that. *** has told us she can not help with the 60% off of the install part and switched us to another person. She was very rude and said we signed the contract, I tried to explain what *** did to us and she didn't want to hear it and hung up on us. I spoke to another gal named Jesse and told her at this point the best solution would be to come and take out the shower and then I would not have a bill with them and she kinda giggled and said they would not do that either!

Hello,

In response to the interest, the plan update was made in February. The lender has confirmed the plan update and that it can take 1-3 billing cycles to reflect the changes.

Copies of the paperwork have been made and are going in the mail this week. We would be happy to send copies electronically as well. A request for copies or additional follow up questions can be made with our office staff at .

We do show the no interest on our statements now, however, I don't see where a the credit of $43.02 that they charged for the first month while this was getting straightened out. So I am hoping that maybe that is still coming????

Look forward to receiving the papers in the mail since they have not been received yet, even though they said they have mailed them weeks ago.

I don't even know where to begin with how awful this company is. My husband and I were new homeowners at the time this salesman came to our house. Maybe we were just young and naive, but this salesman took advantage and was extremely pushy, even stating, "I'm going to lose my job if you back out of this sale." We just decided yes because it seemed like the right thing to do.
In terms of the actual installation, it was awful. The workers smoked on the property, destroyed some of our walls on the inside of the house, and we still have bad drafts the past two winters. They are the worst company. Do not go with these windows.

The salesman from Mad City Baths sold me a bathtub that he stated and put on the contract is 34 inches wide. It has been installed (11/13/19) and it measures 24 inches at the opening (a loss of 10 inches) and narrows down to 17 inches width at the bottom. The tub begins draining when the water reaches a height of 10 inches. This tub is painfully narrow and it becomes further uncomfortable as the water begins draining out when I stretch my legs out in it. Had I known it was going to be this small I would have never purchased it.

As my disgust and dissatisfaction grew I contacted Mad City on 1/12/20 and Mad City employee *** came out to inspect it on 1/15/20. He told me the director would call me back as "Mad City genuinely wants their customers to be happy". I received no contact and called *** on 1/21/20 and left a voicemail message. No response. On 1/23/20 I called *** back and he answered the phone. He informed me that the Mad City soaker tub is even smaller due to extrusions and that I was welcomed to get a fiberglass tub, install it myself, and void the entire warranty for the remaining shower system. I then asked for monetary compensation in the amount of $5,000 back because I was now stuck with this dysfunctional bathtub. *** loudly replied, "Go fishing!" and laughed hard into the phone. He then stated the director would call me and took my number. No one has called or contacted me 17 days later or 11 business days.

Mad City was great from the start to the end. The 1st visit on explaining what would happen, picking out the stand-up shower, fixtures, and finishes.
The work was done in about 2 1/2 days they did a wonderful job. So glad we had them do the work. Would totally recommend them again.

Everybody I dealt with was great! Very pleasant and easy to work with, and I love my new windows.

Horrible. Put in 2 screens already ripped. 1 casing was all dented. Left glass shards all over my walk way and planter. I have toddlers. All casings was too small so they used about a 2 inch wide caulking to cover it up. On outside the caulking looked like the bottom of the decoration of a cake. Horrible. They came out to do a final inspection and the guys said it was horrible and he couldn't believe they did that before we even said anything. He took tons of pictures and sent to his boss and said he would get back to us within a week. New got a call back. We called over 5 times and kept getting told someone would call us back. After several months got a call they fired the guy that said the work was bad. They finally sent another guy out months later and he replaces the 2 ripped screens. Then they sent out another guy he got their and he asked my sitter to tell him why he was out there. They didn't even tell him he would be replacing the dented causing and fixing the caulking. She told him what was all wrong and he fixed the dent and said he can't do anything about the rest because that is how they do it. After calling more times and getting no where someone finally called and said we can fix it and they will pay for the caulk. No we need new casing that is bigger. We finally gave in. Nice waste or money and time. 13,000 for just out big living room windows.

We had a bathtub installed on December 26th (later than originally stated during purchase). We were told the workers would have this installed in one day. Our workers, put in a five hour day and said they couldn’t finish- thus resulting in another day taken off work. Our written purchase order states we ordered a rain shower head with a dual hose attachment. All we received was one hose attachment- not what we purchased. I have documented numerous attempts for us to contact Mad City - I have called and left the owner a voicemail, I have called the service line five times (three unanswered, twice information was taken down with no return, and have even emailed our sales rep three times in which the only response stated he would pass my information along to the production manager... again no response. We also submitted a service ticket that was left unanswered. Eventually, due to their negligence we then had a disconnected drain pipe that flooded our basement. My husband finally got in touch with someone who set up for someone to come fix the pipe and shower head issue. So, we take another day off of work to accommodate their 8AM arrival the following day. No show until noon, we had a call starting the tech called in sick and they’d send someone else. Well, someone else came but didn’t have our shower head as promised. I spoke to the project manager, Kevin- who said he couldn’t help his staff calling in and he would find a Saturday worker to come put in the shower head we paid for. Here we are, *** never called back. I called his number and the service line earlier this week and no response. I’m out of options. This one day project has now turned into a month long battle of me trying to get the product I paid for.

We installed the bath on 12-26-19 and 12-27-2019. we had received a complaint of a dripping drain into the unfinished basement we responded that day and repaired the drain. we received notice that she had not received the rain head and only got the handheld. We told her for the inconvenience we would upgrade her to a Kuai shower system for free. we ordered it and installed on 1-16-2020. I have attached the completion acceptance forms and the contract. There is not any notation of a second handheld. the contract is initialed by the salesman that signed the contract with his initialed shower head and handheld. this job is complete and accepted by the homeowners. we already have give the free upgrade and would consider a reasonable discount for the second day of vacation. All this work and service has been completed with the correspondence of the Service Manager.

Again, no call yesterday to resolve. I really hate having to go this route as I’m sure you do too. I have tried contacting Mad City directly before reopening this case. And here I am spending even more and more of my time away from my job and responsibilities trying to resolve the nightmare this has experience has been. I have followed up on the check, Checks are only cut on Thursdays. I will respond on Friday with the tracking number from the mailing.

My problem not only involves advertising but also involves a warranty issue. Back in October of 2019 we had Mad City Windows and Baths come and give us an in-home estimate for redoing our bathtub and wall surround. We presented the salesman with a coupon for gift cards. One of which was a $50.00 Walmart gift card for just having an in-home estimate done. Since then we have not received a gift card after many numerous attempts with the salesperson to do so and a phone call to the company.
In addition, we had the bathtub and wall surround installed on October 30, 2019. Pursuant to the contract we were to receive in writing warranty information from the contractor pertaining to their warranty coverage. We did receive the manufacturer's warranty, but not the contractor's warranty. Again, after many numerous attempts with the salesman and Mad City attempting to get documented warranty coverage in writing Mad City will not do so.

Mad City Windows & Baths Response • Feb 04, 2020

We apologize for the misunderstanding. We recently revised our contracts to include the Labor Warranty on the back of the contract rather than having separate documentation. This was in an effort to reduce the amount of paper we use and reduce our carbon footprint in the process. It appears that the customer received the old version of our contract which did not contain the warranty. We will mail out the proper contract containing the warranty that would be applicable for them.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

First, Mad City cannot unilaterally redo our contract and expect it to be upheld. Second, we did not sign this new contract that was just sent to us. Third, we do not know when these new contracts became effective. Fourth, this is not what the salesman presented. Fifth, this new contract is not in agreement with Mad City's website. Sixth, these contracts are different on the front and back and therefore, Mad City should have noticed, notified us immediately and presented us with the option of reviewing the new contract and canceling if we wished to cancel. Seventh, our signed contract stands as-is and we should be provided in writing of our warranty at the time of sale. Mad City's warranty was presented to us by the salesman as a lifetime (transferable) repair warranty including plumbing and caulk. This was also confirmed by the installation person, site inspector and conforms to Mad City's website. We purchased this system because of the warranty at the time of sale. If Mad City does not want to stand behind their warranty and put it in writing as stated in this paragraph, then the next step would be filing a complaint with the FTC and pursuing any other avenues available to us.

Fast, clean, professional installation of widows on our house. The sales rep was nice (he even interacted well with my 3 year old who was rather chatty, which is a plus in my book!) and took the time to go over options and product with us. Install took a bit but that was expected, considering we ordered during peak season. They completed the job on time and the work was impressive. Based on our experience I would recommend Mad City.

don't know if I would recommend them or not.
