Love the new shower, easy to get in has one faucet for easy temp. setting and cleans up easy.

Over priced and advertised a gift card for estimate that we never received even after getting the work done.

We requested a bid from Mad City Baths and received one on Dec 18, 2019 for a Walk in shower. We called them on Dec 20th to say we were thinking of a Walk in tub instead. They returned on Jan 8, 2020 to go over that. Before they came back we had got a second bid from American Standard (which we told them we were getting another bid. At this time we had decided to stay with the walk-in shower. We agreed to some changes that brought their original bid down by about $4,000 which put them less than American Standard.
We indicated that we still ha a couple of other companies coming. The salesman told us that Mad City would not come again My wife would not sign a change order - the salesman said we could sign it and we would have a three day right to cancel. That being said, I signed the change order. On Jan 10, 2020 I called the salesman and left a message. A little later I called the office and let them know we were canceling because we had got a bid that was less than half the price from our original plumber from 21 years ago. We received a call a little later saying that we could not cancel because we we had signed a contract on Dec 18th and that was when the 3 day right to cancel started I TRIED CALLING THE SALESMAN AGAIN AND WHEN HE ANSWERED AND HEARD MY NAME - HE HUNG UP AND WOULD NOT RESPOND THE REST OF THE DAY. I said we never got a 3 day right to cancel that they were talking about. They said they had it with our signatures and it was given to us on Dec 18 - we did not have a copy of that. On Jan 14th we got a call requesting a meeting with a manager the next day. I said we both worked and could not do that. We set up a meeting with "a" manager on Jan 17th at 4 PM since we were both off that day. The reason I said "a" manager was because they could not tell me who would be coming. I received a phone call on Dec 17th to tell me they were not coming out because they had a signed contract and did not need to. They told me they would put a lien on my home - I told them to go ahead and try. I have not heard from them since.

To Whom It May Concern,

We apologize for any miscommunication that may have occurred however at this point the product has been ordered and we have taken delivery of the materials. Cancelling the project is not an option at this point. That would have had to have taken place during the 3 day right to cancel period and we have no record of any cancellation form being submitted from this customer. We will attempt to call the customer to schedule the installation.

Regards,

Mad City Baths

[Please type your response here.]I have been in the Hospital for the past 5 days so that is the reason for the delay in responding. I received a call from Mad City today, Jan 28th wanting to deliver a shower and install it. They are aware that I cancelled the order before my 3 day right to cancel was up. The fact remains that we never received a 3 day right to cancel until it was e-mailed to me on January 9th or so. The salesman hung up when he heard my name and we have not been able to talk to him since January 8th when he told my wife and I that we had three days to cancel - which we did by leaving a message for the salesman and a follow up call to the Madison office. The salesman knew that we had to get approval from the VA prior to ordering a shower in order to receive a $2,000 assistance. I refused to accept any product from them or to have it installed unless they wanted to lower their price to $4,110 - the price we have received from our plumber/

Value
I am impressed with Mad City Bath, from my first contact with them to set up an appointment after viewing a commercial on tv to the final paper signing after the install. The customer sales rep called us and we had an appointment with a salesperson within a few days at a convenient time for us. The salesman Dean was early for his appointment with us. He was very nice and thorough with his presentation. He got to know us and also told us about things in his life. He explained that it might take till the end of January for the install because of the two holiday weeks. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that our project materials were in by the 10th of January. The install was scheduled for the 14th between 8 and 10. When we arrived at 7:55 to let the install people in they were waiting for us. They introduced themselves and after showing them the bathroom, they proceeded to lay down drop cloths and brought in tubs for the debris from the tear down. A master plumber came and set up the plumbing part and left again. They were finished shortly after 2 pm and we did a “walk through”. We signed the completion papers, gave us the lifetime warranty and I talked with the supervisor on the phone. Everything went better than expected. The whole team at Mad City are great to work with. Very personable. Kind and polite. Helpful and informative. And love the colors of the shower. I would contract with them in a minute for future work. Sometime I just walk into the bathroom to just to look at my new walk-in shower.

Mad City Windows and Baths have it together. I love my new patio door and large encased window. Their attention to details and planning is smoothly done. I will recommend them to all my friends.

I am trying to receive a partial refund of services rendered for a shower which took almost 5 months to install right. I had asked for a copy of our lifetime warranty on everything and just received that. The shower is still not right, the drain has discolored and the caulking is coming apart. I have reached out to them several times regarding the drain, but haven't heard anything from them. I am entitled to at least receive $2500.00 back from the over $7,000 we gave them. The shower looks chinzy, definately not worth $7,000 grand and we went with just the basics- We started this sale at the end of July and we are still not made whole 6 months later. Bad communication and alot of miscommunication.

[On Jan. 15, *** came and did the caulking that was suppose to be done the day before when he came and replaced drain cover. No one from the company has reached out to me, since the 15th.to check that everything was done properly/satisfactory by Cole. There is still an unresolved partial refund I have been asking for, but no one has said anything regarding that issue, and this stems from way back when they installed the wrong shower back in Aug/Sept. the first time. I'm only asking for 2500.00 for all the time they took up of mine from phone-calls to emails- to having to come and fix the shower 4 times.and not not being satifsied with the product itself. Afterall our time is worth money as is your company time.

I have talked with *** we have reached an agreement.

Customer Response • Feb 07, 2020

We have reached an agreement of 1300.00. Also this money has no effect on the 100% warranty that comes with this expensive shower forever and is transferrable. Mad City has 3 days to send check and verification after they receive my signature and receive their attorney papers back. Turnaround time will be 2 days for me. Justin mailed out today (02-07-2020) per ***. I will sign immediately and send back which would be a 2 day turnaround time. MadCity then has 3 days to remit a check to us. If not case will be reopened and this contract will be void and the monies that are due to us will be $1800.00.

Dear Sir/Madam;
I entered into contract with Mad City to install a larger shower in place of a smaller shower stall on Oct. 31st, 2019. I later learned that the cost of $13,728 was outrageous and a change order was made to adjust price lowered to $12,562 by an overly pushy salesperson at my home. I am a disabled widow of a combat veteran and on a fixed income. I ended up giving them a deposit of $2,512.
I have documentary emails of all the facts;
I was given an install date of December 16th, 2019. I was promised the installation would be completed by Christmas. My contract states that no later than 8 weeks should installation begin barring an Act of God, problems with materials not being available or weather. It also states that the company will obtain the necessary permits and I requested lien wavers in the contract.
I was contacted by Mad City. They wished to make the installation date early to December 11th, 2019. In that I am helping to raise my grandson due to a family emergency, I made arrangements for my grandson's care to accommodate them. I was told prior by the salesman that the 'crew' will include of licensed plumber as this job required.
No materials have ever been delivered to my home yet I understand they are 'in' via Mad City email.
On December 11, 2019 a man, without offering I.D. came to my home. He stated he will solely due the job. When I asked if he was a plumber he said 'no' and that 'there will not be a plumber involved'. He stated he 'does this all the time' but he seemed confused on the nature of the work. I then asked him where the permits were. He stated there are no permits. I then told him I will not allow unlicensed un-permitted work here. He called the Mad City office, then stated 'I'm 'outa here!' and left.
I also called the city of Oak Creek. No attempt was made prior to this man arriving to acquire permits.
Mad City rushed then, and only sought a plumbing permit from Oak Creek I learned when I called the city the next day. They misrepresented the job to get away with only one permit. The job required two, plumbing and construction.
Again, Mad City had to go back to the city and get the second permit. The city of Oak Creek is aware that Mad City attempted to skirt the permitting process entirely, and then again by misrepresenting the job as 'apples to apples' shower over tub install, which is not correct.
Finally, after days of delay, I informed Mad City that I still needed the lien wavers. One conditional and the other unconditional for the $2,512 deposit I had given them and which had cleared weeks prior.
Mad City sent me via email, after again, a delay, incorrect lien wavers with incorrect dollar figures.
It took me days to try and get this corrected. I finally received a call from the General Manager stating he would correct them. I have received them via email but they do not look standard. I also requested they send from sub-contractors, but they just resent the questionable ones.
Regardless, I trusted them to get this right. We then discussed a second install date. I was promised that this time there would be a 'crew' as previous and a licensed plumber. I was concerned about what happened previously with the unlicensed handyman that I was told later by Mad City, was a 'sub-contractor'. He had no license of any kind. Since I had lost a day from the first install date and had to find alternative day care for my grandson, I had asked for some type of reimbursement. I heard nothing from Mad City, so I had offered that they may include a toilet. Mad City agreed to that and offered a second install date of December 23rd, 2019 just inside the contractual time to begin the project. I agreed, and once again made several arrangements to accommodate Mad City.
On Saturday Morning, December 21st, I received a voice message on my cell phone from an unknown number labeled as 'Wisconsin' call. It was a '***' from Mad City who stated that 'he' can not do the Monday morning installation because the City Inspector will not be available to 'sign off' on the project until the 30th. I also received an email stating such on that Saturday. By this time, and all the aggravation Mad City has caused me by re-arranging my schedule and the constant delays caused by Mad City, and by the knowledge and talking to the City Inspector that the Inspector does not 'sign off' on work that has never even been started, and there was no reason for Mad City to have the Inspector present to BEGIN the project, and by the fact that this job would not even be started by Christmas (as promised to be completed by), I lost faith in this company.
Mad City is in breach of contract. They have now canceled two install dates. All problems and delays were the cause of Mad City and no one else. Their suggested, 3rd now, install date is not within the contractual 8 weeks.
I have asked Mad City for the return of my deposit. All I get from them are annoying phone calls on my cell phone and messages from people who only say 'Call me' on my voicemail. The calls don't even announce their company's name on my cell phone's caller I.D., only 'Wisconsin'. After I have asked now for the return of my deposit several times via email, I only keep getting excuses via email from '***' at Mad City. I have stated to them that they are in breach of contract and I want my deposit returned yet they will not address that issue. The phone calls, the emails, from Mad City, in never addressing the returning of my deposit are to the point of harassing. I plan to hire an Attorney soon if I do not receive my full deposit back and will address Mad City's breach of contract if need be in court along with all their un-professionalism. I have numerous emails between the Mad City and myself documenting and confirming these events.

Via email from Mad City to me, I was promised that my deposit, in full, would be returned to me via check. Today I received only a small portion of my deposit. I have attached the 'change order' from my contract with Mad City showing I made a deposit of $2,512. $2,000 was on American Express card back on Oct 31, 2019 and a check for $512. Today, in the mail, I only received a check for $512.00. Where is the other $2,000? I can supply the Revdex.com with the email promising the full deposit if you would like. The memo on the check states 'Refund down payment' which is incorrect because the 'Refund' of my 'down payment' should be $2,512. I will hold off on depositing this check until this is straightened out.

mad city refunded the other $2,000 to the clients American express card on 1/2/2020. on 1/2/2020 we also issued a check for the check deposit the client made for $512. Refunding the clients entire deposit of $2,512.

I met with Josh the sales man for Mad City Windows, signed a contract to have 5 windows replaced in my house. Gave them 20% down and they said the following week they would send someone in to measure the windows and go over everything with me. That Occurred on schedule, they arrived at 7:30PM and things were fine. We were told they would give us an install date. December 13, We received a voice message the day before saying they had to reschedule. Yes know the 27th of December after Christmas. I took off work again and confirmed on December 26, they would be on site. Took the day off and waiting for the installer, received a call from the scheduler that the installer has the flu, rescheduled now for January 3, 2020. Two vacation days burned and no windows yet? I am calling my attorney and getting my money back.

I have asked Mad City windows to stop coming to my home to solicit. Each time, they have told me they would. The problem I have is that them ringing my doorbell disrupts my entire home, including my twins and toddler. I work for a window company, so I will never be interested in their products. I could simply have any services done through my employer. I need to be permanently put on their do not disturb list.

Mad City Windows & Baths Response • Dec 28, 2019

We apologize for this and will do our best to not knock this home again however we would have no way to have known this short of a “do not solicit” sign being posted. We canvass homes and neighborhoods on an intermittent basis and often times babe new staff who would not necessarily remember every home that had previously asked us not to knock at their door.

We had 6 windows and patio door replaced in October. The service was excellent, they were in and out in one day and everything was cleaned up before they left. We are very pleased with the quality of the windows and how quiet it is now.

The work was phenomenal! Our new windows look great & all the employees were very courteous!!

I had my windows installed in October and wanted to take the time to rave about the installers. They provided such excellent customer service! My windows looked beautiful after they were done. They took the time to answer all of my silly female questions about the process. They made sure to replace all of the rotten wood instead of just covering it up. I wasn't able to move some of the bigger items away from the windows and they said not a problem and moved them for me. What impressed me the most is that I have an 8 month old puppy that is afraid of men and they went out of their way to try to make her feel comfortable with their presence. I absolutely loved my experience with Mad City.

Very fast install. No mess left behind. In and out 6 hours flat. And that was 10 windows.

We had our windows replaced by Mad City. It was our first major home project as new homeowners and I have to say, they made the experience easy and were extremely helpful! I would recommend them over and over again!

Add Citi came in and helped renovate my mom’s bathroom bath/shower area. As she is elderly, I wanted to get a walk in shower for more of a convenience to allow her to keep up her hygiene. The work was done very well, they were extremely fast and we are satisfied with their work. I would recommend them!

I spent WAY more money on this project than I should have. The staff was friendly. The shower they installed is perfect. For the project itself, they were in and out of my home within a day. The representative who came out for the free in home inspection and consoltaition easily pressured me into signing up for the services. He told me that they didn't subcontract and the guys that would come out would be in a mad cities vehicle and be wearing their logo. That wasn't true. The people who came out were subcontractors and openly admitted to it. The lady said she was normally a teacher and just subcontracted for some summer break money. They did a good job and were nice. I just wish the representative wouldn't have pressured me and would have been more honest or informed about what actually goes on in the company vs spewing the information that he did. He didn't even mention that I could have had the rest of my bathroom done at the same time, because honestly since I took a loan out for $10k+ I might as well have had my enite bathroom re-done for that loan. Btw my trailer itself was only $12k. Financially I severely regret having gone though Mad City Bath for this project. However, my bathroom shower is indeed amazing. I would just recommend only doing so for a house and to not get pressured by a sales representative. Pay attention before giving information or signing. Don't let them walk you though things as if it's normal or tell you that they need your information to give you an estimate on prices. Don't let them distract you with catalogs and picking out your dream bathroom unless you have set your heart to spend a fortune and are investing into a real house! Again, beautiful shower, friendly workers, costs an arm and a leg.

Great work excellent windows friendly professional workers great overall service

I had a $14,000 shower install project today. One guy showed up, no plumber, no permit (not even applied for) that is required where I live. I called the office. Per my contract, it states they will have required permits. The one guy says he does plumbing but is not a plumber. I paid 20% up front for this job and took the day off work to be here. The office pulled the guy off my job and didn't say when they would be back. This happened this morning.

Customer Response • Dec 14, 2019

Here is an update on what is currently happening. For documentation, here is the email I sent Mad City yesterday via copy and paste:
1. I entered into contract with Mad City Baths on 10/31/2019. Contract is a soup to nuts all inclusive job to replace an existing small shower stall to a larger one. Pushy sales person and customer representative stated that a crew, normally of 3, and with a licensed plumber will be on job. He stated often times mold remediation is necessary and that is included. Contract price was $13,728. A down payment was paid by me, which cleared, of $4,576 via credit cards. The balance to be paid in cash when completed 'to customer satisfaction' wrote in and initialed by representative. I made representative aware that I am a widow on a fixed income and concerned with costs.
2. Contract states 'Mad City Roofing, Inc. shall obtain the following required permits: Oak Creek
3. On 11/2/2019 Pushy sales person and company representative returned to my home when I considered canceling contract due to exorbitant prices compared to competitors which I later learned. Representative for Mad City renegotiated price and made 'CHANGE ORDER'. Change order dated 11/2/19 states 'Void previous down payment'. 'Add 1 24" chrome grab bar.' 'Amend total investment to $12,562.' 'Balance due upon total customer satisfaction and completion'. 'Customer will receive lien waivers for all payments made, including 20% down payment'. 'Mad City will never ask for a trip charge or service fee for any repairs or service at any time'.
'PREVIOUS CONTRACT AMOUNT $13,728
REVISED CONTRACT TOTAL $12,562'
(The previous down payment was credited back to me)
'PAYMENT ON CHANGE ORDER CURRENTLY DUE $2,512'. ( I paid this, quotes constitute what is written on change order) '$2,000 on AmEx' (which cleared) and '$512 on check #508' (which cleared).
A job date of 12/16/2019 was given to me which I accepted.
Later, at the request of Mad City, I agreed to allow them to schedule the job for Dec 11, 2019 for THEIR convenience.
Prior to 8:00 a.m. a man arrived at my home with a personal truck on Dec 11, 2019. He did not offer I.D. He stated he was here to solely perform the job. When I required about the 'crew' and the 'plumber', he stated he would do the plumbing and no plumber would be involved. I asked him if he was a plumber and he said 'no' but he does this all the time. He had no license of any sort.
I then inquired about the permit. He stated he had no permit.
I then told him he would not be working at my home until this was straightened out.
When I called your office, you stated, Traci, "You want a permit?' 'I didn't know you wanted a permit'. 'You want a plumber?' 'I didn't know you wanted a plumber'. I also stated to you that I expected a 'crew' as promised by your representative.
I then checked with the City of Oak Creek where I lived. No attempt to acquire a permit had been made previous to your organization sending a unlicensed what you called subcontractor, and what I call handyman to my home to do a major project. The handyman in question was not even interested in seeing where the drain line lead to when I offered to show him prior to me knowing he was not a plumber.
Your organization called him off the job when I stated to you that no un-permitted work will be done here.
Your organization then attempted to acquire a permit from the City of Oak Creek. It was implied to them that this is a 'apples to apples' tub to shower or shower to shower job. I also called Oak Creek. I informed them that
his is a small shower to large shower job and not apples to apples.
I also informed you on the telephone, as stated in the change order that I expected lien wavers for all monies I have paid your organization.
It is proof via these emails that even that can not be done correctly.
There is nothing 'Conditional' about the $2,512 I have already paid your organization which cleared a long time ago.
You may, in addition, send a conditional waiver for the remaining balance for $10,050. The work, to date, has not been rescheduled by your organization. However, you have promised me that ALL permits will be obtained and a plumber will be present.
I truly am hopeful that business will be conducted, in the future, professionally. To date, it has not been. And I, to date, am NOT a satisfied customer.
attached please find original contract and change order. I have no spent countless hours and had to find a caregiver for my young grandson during YOUR install date, which never occurred, because of your many errors and poor business practices.
I also, demand that the work will pass inspection as part of 'customer satisfaction' by the City of Oak Creek inspector prior to any further payments to you. This is very important considering my reservations about the way your organization has conducted business by trying to skirt the permitting process, and then being less than honest about both permits required by the city of Oak Creek, and by having an unlicensed handyman at my home to do plumbing and construction (which requires framing and knocking down walls) in my home.

In short I would not hesitate to hire them again. While I had a few issues, they handled the issues as good or better than I would have expected. The windows were a bit pricey, but the old adage "you get what you pay for" is definitely true here. We noticed an immediate improvement in the comfort level of the house after they replaced our older double pane windows. Thank you Mad City

Mad City replaced the shower stall in our master bathroom. They completed the project in one day. We were happy with the quality of materials that they used in this project. They were on time and worked efficiently. They consulted us during the project to make sure our needs were met. We would recommend them.
