Regional manager Lou reached out to the customerWe explained that the store spent a lot of time trying to help him with his vehicle concernsThe store did as much as they could but they were not able to order a specific part that was needed so the customer was only charged for what we were able
to do and nothing moreThere are standard labor costs associated with any vehicle repair, so we are unable to refund the customerThank you

Here is the story about last three visits (from June to August, 2018) at Mavis Tire, Riverside, Connecticut store:

1. I needed to change all of my BMW 535i run flat tires. I wanted all season tires instead of summer or winter tires. I later found out that they put new summer tires. When I asked why, they said that they couldn’t get all season tires. When I asked why they did not ask me before replacing tires, they had no answer and they did not even apologize for their mistake. I wanted to have that fixed and their answer was there is nothing they can do know. Unbelievable!

2. I changed my brake pads & rotors for the same car, BMW 535i, with them. I noticed car was shaking when applying the brakes. I took the car back to them for fixing and they seem to have fixed it. The problem is back again after another 800 miles of driving the car. Not sure how many times I have to bring the car back to them.

3. My mistake to go to them again for changing my Lexus IS250 brake pads and rotors for front and rear. After I got my car back, I noticed that there was smoke coming out of left rear tire. I took the car to them and their standard answer was that this happens for first few miles. When the smoke did not stop, I took the car back to them. They had to fix the brake issue to have smoke go away. After about couple of hundred more miles, we find that the car is driving heavy and braking action is weak. I asked them what is wrong with the brake and what is the quality of brake pads / rotors have they used. The standard answer is that this happens a lot with any moving parts.

Not sure, if there is possibility of legal case against them for exposing people to dangers when they do this kind of lousy brake jobs. My recommendation, if you care for your car and safety, stay away from them.

I spoke with Gary at Mavis Tires and he resolved the issue to our satisfaction. We thank you for your assistance and thank Gary for resolving this for us. Thanks so much!

Customer approved us to torch out his lug nuts in order to remove his wheel because he didnt have a wheel lock. Customer then went to the dealer to have his brakes done, the dealer informed the customer that one of his hubs were damaged from removing the studs. John, store manager, called the...

customer and told him to bring the car back and we would replace the part for him at no charge if that is something we had done and do the alignment again free of charge. Customer never returned. Regional Manager Rich did call the customer and left him a message as well...Regional manager Rich was also standing with store manager John when he called the customer and spoke to him. At no point was John rude to the customer (Mavis is committed to providing great customer service which is why we invited customer to come back so we can take a look at the car and repair whatever we may have damaged). Mavis is still happy to repair the customer's hub bearing if necessary and re-do alignment if necessary. Mavis unfortunately cannot issue a full refund as the tires are in fine condition and we cannot confirm any of the work the dealer states needs to be done until we see the vehicle. thank you

There was no agreement between myself and the local business I have mode arrangements with Mike and he stated he would try to get me a refund and he also said he would call advance auto to see if they would reimburse him for the parts.I would like the company to reach out to ED former manager of the [redacted] store and formaer employer of the [redacted] store where the work was done. ED promised he would get the issue fixed and never did. Las time I spoke with ED he stated he need it six months to get the part to fix the van properly and after 6 months the work was never honored. As I explained already I could not continue to wait as my vehicle was unsafe to make the 3 day drive to Austin texas were I was relocating for work. I gave the business all the time in the world to correct my issue and tried to work with them directly and they keep refusing to make things right. Provide a refund for the botched work that was performed in a timely manner, I would love to get this resolved with out having to resort to making a civil law suit against the Mavis [redacted] and [redacted] store. I have many receipts to prove how many time I took the vehicle back to get it check for the issue I also know ED and will ask for him to be depose to be my witness in court if need be. I am prepared to spent more money that I will get back to bring a law suit just as a matter of principle of you not standing by your customers and workmanship. Please lets work this out in a civilized manner and just own up to your employee mistakes.Once again there was no agreement of any kind shape or from ever made with anyone in the local store nor with Mike about the showing of any old parts. The parts where retained and probably disposed by [redacted] in Syracuse on [redacted] and there is no way to recovered them at this point.

How many times you will repeat the same comment? Provide the VIDEO evidence if what you're claiming is true. For once you can answer a very simple question (as long as you IQ is higher than 60): Why are you not willing to share the video? - I will answer it for you: it clearly shows who did the damage.

Mavis understands customer's concerns, her oil change was done on 7/**/2017. The vehicle came back to us on 8/*/2017 with an oil leak. We drained the remaining oil and investigated to see if there were any shavings found, no shavings were found and the change was done again with a new oil filter and new oil. We started the vehicle with no issues and no service lights came on. Took the car on a test drive and the car runs good. As further precaution we brought the vehicle to an outside vendor for further diagnostics. It was found that there is nothing wrong with the customer's engine and the car is fine. There is no need for a new engine and the car is in fine working condition. Thank you!

We are happy to repair [redacted] vehicle, we are in the process of scheduling his repairs at a body shop. We will be contacting the customer today. Thank you

Again, as unfortunate as it is, Mavis did not cause the customer's car troubles in any way, they were pre-existing. We offered to and did check the vehicle and informed the customer that there is nothing further we can do to assist them. Thank you

Regional Manager, Steve investigated this issue extensively.  Upon review of our audio & video footage from Wednesday May ** from 4:55pm to 6pm we notified customer from the minute she told us the issue that it was not normal that a radio would stop working after the vehicle was jumped...

unless there was a possible bigger issue. We only offered to check fuses and the customer told us that she opened the fuse box in the engine bay and had left the cover off. upon review, we found the radio fuse had blown and was melted touching the fuse to the fuel pump. when we pulled the radio fuse and installed a new one, that fuse immediate popped again. we then found that the vehicle would not start so we pulled the fuel pump fuse next to the radio fuse which then had a prong brake upon pulling. we replaced both but vehicle still did not start. we brought the fuses to her in the showroom and confirmed she has a bigger issue and we may not be able to fix it. most likely there is a wiring issue or when the vehicle was jumped the cables were crossed. we explained that this must have been a prior issue.  Customer denied having any prior issues, we tried to tell the customer that we would happily wave any labor charges for the diagnostic we had done as a courtesy but that we couldnt do anything further because we didnt cause this issue... she said that wasn't enough. Unfortunately, Mavis is not in any way responsible for the customer's vehicle not running. Thank you
