Our Regional District manager has been in contact with this customer, as we will be repairing the customer's rim. The repair for the customer's rim will be repaired at  Mavis/STS's expense. Thank you.

The only thing refunded was be charged twice and yes they have replaced my tire that they put on that was the wrong one and have done nothing else making it seem like everything that happened didnt all the inconvenience on negligence and rush jobs with overpayments and not seeming to care about it unacceptable

Once again, the vehicle was in fine working order when it left our care. There was no evidence of bad axles and no complaints from the customer regarding possible axle issues. Mavis/STS performed the work that was necessary and the car left in good condition. This was an unfortunate coincidence however nothing Mavis/STS did caused the customer's concern nor did our negligence. Thank you

You really can't make this up!!! So from my previous post....went to the Mavis location this past Saturday and dropped off my wheel for them to repair, showed the damage to Stu the mgr, stated they will would be sent out on Monday and they would have it back on Tuesday....So I waited the extra day and went in yesterday to pick up the wheel, Stu opened the box for us to examine the wheel, I first noticied there was scratches on the one of the spokes on the front of the wheel, I pointed it it out to Stu and his response was "I did not show him that damage on Saturday"....I told him that damage was not there when I dropped the wheel off....seriously!!! Frustrated with this whole process with Mavis I left with the wheel. Once I got it home I compared it with the other wheels on my vehicle and the color/finish does not match the others and there are now waves in the wheel. So basically the wheel is worse now than when I dropped it off!

We called Chris, the manager at the store who was dealing with [redacted] on his issue. [redacted] told the store that they took off the better tires and left him the two bad ones. The store kept the two tires that were taken off and showed [redacted] that they were worse than the ones we left. We went one step further and replaced the two front tires today for the customer at cost as a courtesy, this issue is resolved.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The tire blew in the outerwall not because of a tire or nail or anything of that sort.  The tire just blew which means it was defective tire.  There were four punctures on the outer wall of the tire.  That is not something that is caused by a pothole or nail.  They sold me a defective tire.  The regional manager has not called me at any of the numbers I have provided.  I can also confirm they did not do the oil change which was the main reason that I went to the Parisippany location on 05/**/2016.  My car made no rattling noises nor had any of the other issues that I have specified in my complaint until I had to take it back to them because of the blown tire on 05/**/2016.  This weekend my car's oil light came on and when I checked the car there was no oil and I had to put motor oil in the car as the engine was smoking.  I called them on 05/**/2016 and told them they did not do the oil change because when you have an oil change are they not supposed to top of all fluids - I knew my car had no wiper fluid when I took it to them but they never replaced it.  However, they charged me for a complete power steering flush as well as a brake fluid flush but they never even changed the oil which I what I requested they do.  Their technicians took apart my car without my authorization nor permission when all they had to do was change one tire.  They kept me in the store for 2.5 hours and came back with more issues that the first store did not find nor have any other place.  This is a common practice with Mavis as there are numerous complaints about them "finding" things when you bring your car into their facility for minor services like an oil change or a tire replacement.  Then they try to hardball you into paying for additional repairs.  If they are not a repair service then why are they taking people cars apart and recommending repairs outside the scope of their capabilities?  My car was not making any noises nor had any other issues until I took it to their shop in Union the second time.  They reviewed my previous invoice and they knew I had all the checks done prior to them even touching the car so there was no reason for them to take apart my car and check the brakes, the battery, the shocks and anything else they did.  ALL THEY HAD TO DO WAS CHANGE A TIRE!!! AND FURTHER TO THAT THEY CHARGED ME FOR THAT EVEN WHEN IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY, SUPPOSED CHANGED THE TPFS WHICH WAS ALREADY DONE AND CHARGED ME FOR AN ADDITIONAL WARRANTY.So therefore, they messed up my car and they should pay for the repairs..

The car was taken for a "test drive" 2 hours after I paid over the phone and was told that car is ready to be picked up. Have been told from the beggining that the car was not driven at all, just to find out 4 days later that it actually was driven without any notice to me as an owner. The business certainly has different methods (more accurate methods!)  how to find out if the tires are balanced than driving the car around without me present. The damage on the engine is so extensive that it could be done only by reckless driving/speeding. Have been told by one of the salespeople that the store will get the engine and I even offered to pay the labor and other expenses. I had a wittness with me who can prove it. 5 days later, they say they never offered me anything but help to look for the engine.

Just wanted to let you know that our Regional District manager has tried three different times to reach out to the customer below. Twice on 9/**/2016 and again on 9/**/2016. He investigated the issue and found that all the side skirt needs is a clip (that we are happy to supply) Just wanted to let...

you know so that it doesnt appear we havent attempted to reach out. Thank you, Alexa Customer Service Manager Mavis Tire Supply LLC [redacted]

At this point there is nothing for Mavis/STS to do, we must wait for all the paperwork regarding the charge back. customer was shown the tires he...

ordered before we put them on the vehicle, he approved us to do so. Thank you

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I am attaching the receipt from the [redacted] where I had to take the car after the tire blew....On line Items 1, 2, 3 and 4 it is notated "customer states" to have these checks done...I never authorized them to do anything other than replace the tire that blew.  The Parsippany sold me a defective tire that blew after only 5 days...Not acceptable....the TPMS Rubber Replacement Valve was supposedly replaced at the Parsippany location on 05/**/2016 so I do not know why the [redacted] had to replace it again if it was already done as stated in the receipt from Parsippany store.  My car was taken apart...When the mechanic at the [redacted] took me into the work area all the tires were off my car and he informed me that my shocks had to be done.  Why did they feel the need to take all the tires off my car to replace the one that blew?  Is that part of the standard package????  It should not be.  I am not sure what they did when I took my car to the [redacted] on 05/**/2016 but as I indicated in my complaint as a result of their work I have to have additional work done to my car because the motor mount, control arm as well as the sway bar are all in need of replacement.  If they keep saying they are not a repair shop -- why are they taking people car's apart in the first place.  They kept me in their store for 2.5 hours to change a tire, charged me at a pro-rated cost for a new tire that I should have never had to pay for as it was under warranty when it blew.  Then they charged me for a new warranty on one tire and my car is messed up as a result of their work.  I did speak to someone named Christopher today from the [redacted] and he is insisting the same as mentioned in the response from the company...So why did they take my car apart?  Why did they tell me I needed work done that does not need to be done and why after having my car serviced at both their locations did a tire blow that was supposed to be new and now my car is almost literally falling apart from the inside out.  And to top it off, I never got the oil change I requested when I first went to their store on 05/**/2016?  I already informed Jenna the person who is directing the complaints posted on Yelp that I can only be reached at my home number which is ###-###-####.  Any resolution  other than them paying for the repairs that have to be done by a licensed mechanic or facility is totally unacceptable.

Mavis/STS refunded the customer and appropriately addressed their complaint by providing the customer with a new tire. Unfortunately, there is nothing else for Mavis/STS to do in this situation. Thank you!

Again, due to the length of time the Regional manager is only able to provide the customer with a Mavis voucher for half the amount of the tire. Thank you

 1. I couldn’t help laughing when I read “Customer was not forced into buying anything.”  It appears this shop has successfully developed a pretty good reputation of forcing people into buying things they don’t need and ripping people off over the years. After reading some reviews on Revdex.com and [redacted], I found I am not the only victim that was in same situation. I just couldn't copy and paste all the voluminous complaints about how customers became victims. Following my response are some sample victim complaints on Revdex.com and [redacted]. They are description of exactly same sales tactics as what they’ve used on me!2. The manager did bring me out to my car and show me “the parts were completely worn”. However, I didn’t see any damage/worn and disagreed with his conclusion on site. I asked the manager what was broken. The manager pointed at everywhere and said they are all worn out so badly that you cannot keep them, otherwise you are risking your life.  Although I strongly disagreed with him, being scared by his threat of being “unsafe” and “risking my life”, I was forced into saying yes. 3. I spoke with the regional manager without successful resolution. The regional manager said the best he could do was to refund $75, which I didn’t accept. He didn’t even mention anything about the $125 voucher. I was not aware of same and would not accept it anyway even if I knew.  ------------[redacted]
