In May I ordered several items using their gift card bucks they sent me as a reward for purchases madeThe order was slightly over the amount of the card so my credit card was used to make up the differenceitems went on back order and have been cancelled by Guitar Center with no explanationI called them to find out what happened and they had no reasonI asked if I was to be given a credit or if my card would still be chargedThey said the charge would drop off which it hasn't and they don't give credit for the gift cardI have filed with my credit card company for fraud and am waiting to hear back from themApparently from what I see online this isn't the only time they have done something like this to someoneEven if my credit card is refunded I still am out the rewards I earned and they refuse to honor it

I placed an order for a guitar multi-effect with added warranty on 12/09/as a Christmas gif, and I am yet to receive my productThe next day after placing my order that was IN STOCK at the time, I got an email from Guitar Center that my product was back orderedI contacted Guitar Center inquiring why the multi-effect was back ordered when it was clearly was advertised as "in stock", but I was not provided with an explanation/reason; instead I was told that my item will be available on 01/09/Disappointed as I was for this will not be a Christmas gift, I patiently waited for any updates from Guitar Center, until I got an email today 1/8/stating that my item will ship WITHIN THE NEXT DAYS!
My pain now that I cannot accept a refund because I simply cannot find this multi-effect anywhere else for the same price, so a refund of my money is a double loss (not getting what I paid for, and having to pay more to get it from somewhere else)

When purchasing a AGK CCondensor microphone (NEW condition) from guitar center the sales rep brought the product to the counter and the security seal was broken (torn off with paper and sticker residue from the security seal still on the case) in addition there was obvious damage to the back of the case ( dents and scrape) as well as the feet of the case had scuffed on them After the sales rep had ensured it was a new product the I pointed out the damage to the case and noted to the sales rep the security seal had been broken At this point the sales rep backed pedaled and said he could not say whether or not the product was condition was new, used, or returnedHe stated it could be the floor model yet, the floor model was still physically in a display case just feet from us I filed a complaint with corporate and did not receive a follow up call after they stated I would receive a call from them I did not receive call till I place a follow up call to the corporate The store manager called me back and in our conversation stated that this piece of equipment was "probably a floor model" when I stated the floor model was still in the case the stated that it was "probably a return" and said he could look it up to see if it was a return or not, but was reluctant in doing so He stated there can be a 10% discount for returned merchandise at this point and was sorry it was not offered to me The manager was NOT transparent on the condition of the product even at this point

There was an advertisement on a website I frequent showing a product on saleUpon clicking the link it took me to their website where the product showed a different priceI contacted GC to inform them I would like the advertised priceThey offered me 15% off instead and refused to honor their advertisement

I have placed an order for a used DJ Mixer and a turntable on the website The mixer was shipped in a timely manner and I actually just received itIt came not as describedBroken, with tape on the bottom with screws and faders missing Not as the website showed or described (apparently this is "great" condition)

When I place this order, I assumed I was paying for and would receive a new guitar What I received was a used guitar that had a major defect Guitarcenter.com supervisor N*** *** was unwilling to work with me on replacing what I ordered, that is, a new guitar or a guitar in new condition I had placed several calls to the online support center and have been unable to rectify this unfortunate situation

A used Native Instruments Komplete Audio was ordered on the Guitar Center website and shipped from the brick and mortar Guitar Center in Marietta, GA Upon attempting to register the unit with the manufacturer (Native Instruments), it was discovered that the unit was already registered to another Native Instruments account It is not Native Instruments policy to deactivate registration on an account without a request from that account holder I was prompted to contact the seller and request a Transfer ID

I ordered a used string bass guitar from this store online on March for $The picture showed a string bass guitar with silver triangle on the fretboardIt had knobs on the guitar body and electric pick ups centered on the bodyThe picture was very dark and hard to make out the colorThe listing also said that the product came with a caseThe bass guitar arrived today, March and it is a completely different guitar of much lower quality than the one in the pictureThe guitar they sent had a completely different neck and bodyThis guitar only has knobs and the pickups are off-setThere is no way to mistake the guitarsAlso there was no case that came with the guitarI contacted Guitar Center Customer Service and they said it was a mistake by a low level employee and I could either keep the Guitar and they would send me a case or return it for a refundI said I wasn't going to keep the guitar for the price I paidThey issued me a return shippin

As for new gear they have great deals but a recently purchased used amp in "excellent" condition turned out to be very dirty, the on light did not work and the sound would go up and downI have called several times and was told the store manager from where it came in Palmdale, Ca from would call meHe only did call after I had called a 3rd time and he was called by customer serviceI was told by customer service that this was a previously returned amp that the condition had not been updated to poorAs for a resolution I was told he would refund it and also refund my shipping which should be a no brainerI was also told he would take 15% off a new ampBig deal, I get the 20% off coupons all the time and the time I will waste going to a store to return it isn't worth itSave yourself some trouble and shop elsewhere if you are looking for used gear
