I placed an order for a guitar multi-effect with added warranty on 12/09/as a Christmas gif, and I am yet to receive my productThe next day after placing my order that was IN STOCK at the time, I got an email from Guitar Center that my product was back orderedI contacted Guitar Center inquiring why the multi-effect was back ordered when it was clearly was advertised as "in stock", but I was not provided with an explanation/reason; instead I was told that my item will be available on 01/09/Disappointed as I was for this will not be a Christmas gift, I patiently waited for any updates from Guitar Center, until I got an email today 1/8/stating that my item will ship WITHIN THE NEXT DAYS!
My pain now that I cannot accept a refund because I simply cannot find this multi-effect anywhere else for the same price, so a refund of my money is a double loss (not getting what I paid for, and having to pay more to get it from somewhere else)
I purchased an item from their online service for Christmas and I was informed that it was "back ordered after I had already paidas the back order date approached they then informed me that it was going to be even longer so I told them to cancel the order On January 18th I received an email informing me that they canceled my order and it would to business days before I would receive my refund EMAIL SAID: "Hello Peter, the order had been cancelled, if you have any further questions or require further assistance"It is now February and I have not received a refund or a reply to my emails

There was an advertisement on a website I frequent showing a product on saleUpon clicking the link it took me to their website where the product showed a different priceI contacted GC to inform them I would like the advertised priceThey offered me 15% off instead and refused to honor their advertisement
I have placed an order for a used DJ Mixer and a turntable on the website The mixer was shipped in a timely manner and I actually just received itIt came not as describedBroken, with tape on the bottom with screws and faders missing Not as the website showed or described (apparently this is "great" condition)
The turntable I originally ordered, was cancelled because apparently when a used item is posted online, by the time someone one orders it and the store picks it for shipping, it can be sold to someone else So the order was cancelled I placed another order for a different used turntable at a different store, and the item never shipped They held on to the funds for over a week before I got fed up and cancelled the order
This is not the way to do business I shouldn't have to be on the phone with guitar center every day to make sure everyone is doing their job Every single Guitar Center I've been to has been absolutely dead so I don't understand why it take
When purchasing a AGK CCondensor microphone (NEW condition) from guitar center the sales rep brought the product to the counter and the security seal was broken (torn off with paper and sticker residue from the security seal still on the case) in addition there was obvious damage to the back of the case ( dents and scrape) as well as the feet of the case had scuffed on them After the sales rep had ensured it was a new product the I pointed out the damage to the case and noted to the sales rep the security seal had been broken At this point the sales rep backed pedaled and said he could not say whether or not the product was condition was new, used, or returnedHe stated it could be the floor model yet, the floor model was still physically in a display case just feet from us I filed a complaint with corporate and did not receive a follow up call after they stated I would receive a call from them I did not receive call till I place a follow up call to the corporate The store manager called me back and in our conversation stated that this piece of equipment was "probably a floor model" when I stated the floor model was still in the case the stated that it was "probably a return" and said he could look it up to see if it was a return or not, but was reluctant in doing so He stated there can be a 10% discount for returned merchandise at this point and was sorry it was not offered to me The manager was NOT transparent on the condition of the product even at this point
I processed an order on July 20th via the Guitarcenter.com websiteI went by the website's information telling me the order is available for in-store pick up after it was paidAfter placing the order I rode the bus which took more than one hourArriving at the store I showed the clerk my email confirmation, and he knew the order was placed and it was the correct storeTen minutes later he arrives and tells me he can't process the orderI asked him "Why not?"He tells me they can't process the order at this timeThe manager says he can swipe my card again, and run another transaction while the other one cancelsI advised him this was worse than me just leaving the order cancelledI'm trying to wrap my head around how I can pay for something online, and show up at the store, but leave with no product

Guitar Center falsely advertised a new Ernie Ball Music Man guitar in Chili Red for $I refreshed my browser and added the item to my cart where it showed up as $(full-price)I initiated an IM session with Customer Support from my mobile appAfter minutes their offer was to give me the guitar at $(you read that right; $ABOVE LIST)They refused to acknowledge the item was on-sale suggesting it was used, however I pulled it up on line and it said "Pre-Order"In the IM session they wrote down the customer service number then immediately disconnected so I lost the number AND the entire threadI called the Customer Service number where they worked with me for another minutes; they acknowledged the item was on sale but claimed it was no longer availableThe website was messed up as well where they showed two identical descriptions with different GC item numbersWhen I pointed out it showed available on the website, in fact it was suddenly "top seller" they back-tracked, agreed it was availablem and offered to give it to me for $The item was listed as "on-sale" that day and Guitar Center refused to honor the priceIt was a total bait and switch and it is unacceptable to not honor the advertised priceIt bothers me that they were so unethical and I would hope someone more senior in Guitar Center customer service would contact me directly and make this right
I ordered an Epiphone guitar at Guitarcenter.com Order #:

Order Date:

When I place this order, I assumed I was paying for and would receive a new guitar What I received was a used guitar that had a major defect Guitarcenter.com supervisor N*** *** was unwilling to work with me on replacing what I ordered, that is, a new guitar or a guitar in new condition I had placed several calls to the online support center and have been unable to rectify this unfortunate situation
I had placed an order for a piece of recording equipment listed on Guitar Center's used market place which, nearly one month later, I've yet to receiveFrom what little I've been told, it seems UPS had either lost the item, or delivered it to an incorrect address
Upon discovering that the package hadn't made it to my door, despite UPS tracking having listed it as "delivered," I called GC customer service, and it was explained to me by an agent that coordinating the claim process with UPS could take 7-daysweeks, conversations with customer service agents, store manager, and a UPS claims manager later, I am no closer to a resolution to the issue that I'd paid Guitar Center for an item that I never received
Most recently, I was told that the process can take an additional 30-days, and that the prospect of refunding my money or sending me a replacement before then wasn't within their power to authorize"Can I speak with someone empowered with such authority" I ask? Invariably, I'm bounced to some other manager or agent, none of whom seem able or interested in assisting me with providing details or a timeline as to how such an issue is resolved
My experiences with other music retailers contrast pretty starkly, hereEarlier in the year, I had ordered a synthesizer from Sweetwater, which arrived damagedWhile they coordinated the claim with the shipper, I was promptly shipped a replacement and keyboard stand, compliments of the salesperson
Even my bank has been more responsive than Guitar CenterI've contested the charge, and hours later, I was issued a credit for the cost of the undelivered item while they conduct their own investigation
My sense, after speaking with with a handful of managers and agents in their organization, is that Guitar Center Stores don't really have a protocol in place for managing items lost in transitIf they do, it's about as nontransparent and consumer un-friendly as one can imagine
A used Native Instruments Komplete Audio was ordered on the Guitar Center website and shipped from the brick and mortar Guitar Center in Marietta, GA Upon attempting to register the unit with the manufacturer (Native Instruments), it was discovered that the unit was already registered to another Native Instruments account It is not Native Instruments policy to deactivate registration on an account without a request from that account holder I was prompted to contact the seller and request a Transfer ID
Upon contacting Guitar Center's customer service hotline, I was prompted to contact the store in GA My first call was placed on hold and then disconnected after an employee took my number and promised a manager would contact me shortly I did not receive a call back and instead called the store again after several days
After waiting to speak with a manager, I was told that I should "Spend another $and get one that can be registered" The manager did not offer to
