I received a homeowners insurance policy quote from Carolyn Browder at the Charlotte C Knight State farm Insurance Agcy Incbefore closing at my new home in Detroit MIShe quoted me at a price of $3,per yearThis full amount for insurance was paid to state farm at closing by the title company on January 29, Today on February 16, I received a phone call from her stating she was going to cancel my policy if I did not pay an extra 760$ due to circumstances which she could not explain

We previously had insurance through State FarmWhen their rates went up we switched to another insurance company, which our State Farm agent Ceci McClure advised that she completely understood, because she acknowledged that their rates had gone up

Totally disgusted with this companyMy intentions was to write a letter directly to StateFarm but couldn't find anything on the websiteI normally let things roll of my back but I need to let others know my experience with this companyI have been with StateFarm for 30+ yearsIt was a great company in the day but the past 5-7/yrs the customer service has deterioratedI have (8) Policies with the company and spend about $9-$10K a year between those policiesIn I had a deer strike with my new RamI put a claim and waited for an adjuster but he never came and looked at my truck after 1/mosI called back claims and they were apologetic but again nothing happenedI finally spoke to my agent and he said after days I can get the truck fixed at any body shop because they dropped the ball and thats exactly what I didNow lets talk about agents, I was with the same agent for years until he retiredI had incredible service and never an issue with handling claims and saving me $$$ on new policiesHowever, after he retired StateFarm decided that I will be a bouncing ball, after changing me from agent to agent the past 5/yrs I had enoughI wrote a letter to be with a particular agent near my home and my request was never answeredIt was completely ignoredThe final straw was one of my policies was downgraded because we put in a windshield claim on a new vehicleHowever, the new policy was never written by the agent who I never wanted or ever asked for but in StateFarm style the agent forgot to write the new policy and let the ins lapseIMHO this is complete incompetenceThank God we didn't have an accident for those few days that we were uninsuredIm done with StateFarm, Im tired of the horrible service, the insane rate hikes and the incompetence of claims and agentsI got a quote from two other Ins companies today and I will save about $2000-$2500/yr with more coverageAfter 30+ years, good riddance to StateFarm

My mother's home was insured with State Farm My mother passed 05-06- I called State Farm and asked that the policy be put in my name at the time I received a bill ($742)

Absolutely horrible! I moved months ago and changed from Oklahoma to New York and my policies are still in Oklahoma and I am paying renters insurance on an address I don’t live at and my current residence is not coved and they refuse to answer why or when it will be fixed!
