National General Insurance Company Reviews (523)

Review: Had a car accident on Jun 4th 2015, my insurance which is National General had my car towed to a collision shop in Dumfries VA, since then they have refuse to fix almost everything caused in the accident, they refuse to fix the things that need to be fixed that was caused by the accident, I was told that things that need to be fix wasn't consistent with the accident, for instance, it was a left front collision to a guardrail which bent my rim, flat tire, broke my control arm, knocked my car out of alignment, scratch the side of my car, cracked my wind shield broke my running board, broke the left finder, headlight and grill, and in over a month of having my the only thing that has been fixed is the bumper and the headlight, event though all the damage was caused by the accident, they have rude, uncooperative, especially the agent handling my case, Judy D. not sure of full last name.Desired Settlement: I pay my insurance every month on time, have full coverage and have paid my deductible for this accident, again I have full coverage, if something was wrong with my car before the accident I would have had it repaired because I have the full coverage, this is my main transportation to work, have been using my wife's car and now she has no way to get the kids to doctor's appointment grocery stores and ext.. I just want my car back the way it was before the accident, this has been a nigthmare

RE: Revdex.com ID: [redacted]

Dear

Ms. Diaz:

Thank you

for your email of July 17, 2015. The

company conducted an additional investigation into our insured’s loss due to varying

statements obtained and the fact that some of the damages appeared to be

inconsistent with the facts of loss as reported. This included an investigation conducted by

our Special Investigative Unit and obtaining an impact analysis from an

independent Accident Reconstructionist.

On July 17,

2015 the company concluded our investigation and we are moving forward with all

repairs listed in the original estimate and the supplemental estimate received. The shop completing the repairs was informed

of the same and it is our understanding that our insured returned his vehicle

to the shop on July 23, 2015. Once the company

receives the final invoice upon completion of repairs payment will be remitted

accordingly.

Sincerely,

T. Ray

From: [redacted] [mailto:[redacted]] Sent: Wednesday, July 29, 2015 8:03 PMTo: Kelly Mace <[email protected]>Subject: Re: A new message is waiting from the Revdex.com of Northwest North Carolina in regards to your complaint #[redacted].claim #[redacted], Thanks for you swift response to my claim, the collision shop called me and said the company agreed to fix everything on the original estimate, I am very pleased however I got a call back a day later saying they did not want to replace the tires that was in the original estimate because the tires on my truck wasn't brand new, so because my tires were not new they feel they should not put brand new tires back on the truck, I don't understand what kind of tires they want to put on, do they want used tires, it"s things like this that is frustrating and the reason I am writing to you again, and as I wait I still have no car to drive to work and it's been a very long time. Review: I feel National General is charging me a disproportionately high cancelation fee, especially after they forced me to seek a new insurance company by quoting me way above market value to add my teenage son to my existing policy. Per the e-mail I received from my agent [redacted] with [redacted] The additional premium per year is about $2090. [redacted] is charging me $600 for my son. Other quotes I received where between $800 and $1200.The cancellation fee they are charging me is 10% ($150) of my annual premium which I paid in full at the beginning of the contract.Any help in this matter is greatly appreciatedDesired Settlement: I would like to see the cancelation fee removed.

Review: I recently started an insurance policy for my son for his car with this company and they took my debit card information and my money to pay for his policy no problem. I started this policy for him myself. When I called to cancel the policy, they refused to allow me to handle it, became very nasty on the phone, and would not cancel the credit card siting confidentiality when I am the one who started the policy and it is my debit card. They were rude, and should not be allowed to treat people this way.Desired Settlement: I would like them to change their policy. If they can take my money to start a policy for my son then I should be allowed to tell them not to charge my card and to cancel it when necessary.

Dear

Ms. Diaz:

Thank you

for your email of July 27, 2015. An

insurance policy is a contract between the named insured and the company. While we understand the complainant’s

frustration, we cannot cancel a policy that is in her son’s name at her request. Our records indicate that the complainant’s

son has since requested to have his policy cancelled and his request has been

honored.

Sincerely,

T. Ray
