Like many people, I was tricked into paying a pound for a trial of the Noom app which I downloaded to my phone. I did not use the app at all as I was not interested. There was no clarity about what would happen when the trial period ended, I just found that they had charged my Paypal account £99. I emailed to ask for a refund but they refused. This is really a con and this company should be banned from doing business.

I have never used their services. I asked for a refund after I canceled on a 14 day signup and they are refusing. You can tell from the app I never used their services. They charged me $129 without being upfront on what the amount on the charges are. It feels very dishonest and customer service is a joke. They are hiding behind a "no refund policy" which seems like it would be useful for those who used it but for those who do not it is a complete ripoff.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved. I hope they review their return policy and amend it. I have seen several complaints on this online.

Sincerely

I signed up for Noom which is advertised on TV as a weight loss program for the 1$ trial for 12 days(May-June,2019).I don't have the required technology to start the trial subscription.I have tried contacting Noom via phone, text and email and there has been no response from them;yet they will bill my credit card in June for a 4 month period. That is not right;that is fraud. They can keep the 1 dollar but I want the subscription cancelled now during the trial period.I am really surprised that this business hasn't been taken to court by the Manhattan DA.

Noom is the best healthy eating program I've ever tried. I find it better than *** because of all the science-based articles they offer, the amazing app, and the online support. I've learned so much about the psychology of eating, and the influence of other lifestyle factors such as sleep, stress, meditation, and exercise on weight loss. It has 2 types of online support: a personal coach and a support group, so you're not alone on the journey! I've lost 18 lbs. so far, and I'm only halfway through the course (2 months)!

Love it so much! The psych tricks are amazing. I love the daily motivation and accountability provided.

I signed up for the trial, but after being charged a dollar, went to cancel the plan and was told that there was no record of my email address or credit card. Strange, right?
And then yesterday, I was charged $159 and again contacted Noom and was again told that there was no record of my email address or credit card.
Clearly, there is either a massive software problem at Noom -- in that they say that they have no record of my credit card and yet keep making charges against it -- or there is something fraudulent going on.
Not knowing why it was happening -- and not really caring if Noom had the capacity of fixing its system or not -- I was forced to report the charges to my bank as fraudulent and ask that the credit card account be closed and a new card issued.
So, either Noom is running a scam (a possibility that I hope is not true), or the Noom software makes charges against credit cards which are not available to its customer service personnel. That seems like a gapping software bug to me! So, buyer beware!

I signed up for Noom’s free trial the afternoon of May , 2019. My husband got sick subsequently after and for weeks we have been in and out of the hospital, he had to have surgery, our life has been chaos and as a result, I wasn’t able to use this app or follow up on cancelling until June *, 2019, when I saw the trial was now over and they billed my account. I never received notice of this, or anything from my specialist regarding this. In addition, they charged me in advance for FOUR months of use. Nowhere did I see this in the fine print. I am being charged for four months use of an app that I didn’t even use or care for to begin with. Noom is refusing to give me a refund, not even a partial refund and I am so furious as this is not a good business practice. Never was it clear when or just how much they would charge me, nor did they give me the courtesy of letting me know before the charge went through.

I LOVE NOOM! I have tried many diets in the past and I always lose weight, but none of them have been sustainable. With Noon, I don't feel like I'm on a diet. Noon has helped me learn how to eat better, has delicious recipes that my whole family will eat (and I have picky kids), and helps tackle the psychological reasons I have given up in the past. I feel like this time, I'm actually making a life change. This time, I don't feel deprived and I'm not eating foods I hate. I've lost 17.5 lbs in 8 weeks and it hasn't been a struggle. I feel like Noom makes this sustainable and keeps short term goals within reach to keep you motivated.

I missed the trial expiration by a few hours and they charged me $129 !!! I used the app for 3 days and forgot about it. I did later notice an (automatic) email they had sent asking if something was wrong because I hadnt logged on.
Bottom line is that this is a scam, because when you contact them to cancel, they will not budge on their "policy" of no partial refunds. I offered to have them charge me for the first month because I missed the trial deadline by a few hours, but they wouldnt budge. They are banking on people losing interest in the lame information they offer so they can just keep collecting the fees.

As a Noom member, you are supposed to receive a goal specialist for weekly one-on-one support, a group coach and support group, and motivational and health tips and tools. But don’t expect the promised goal specialist help. These “individuals” are unreliable, don’t remember the previous week’s goals and discussions and are basically useless. I am on my third. And some member group discussions show that the problem is pervasive. I like the other aspects of the program but I absolutely feel ripped off because I did not get 1/3 of the benefits promised. Very disappointing..

Charged me an insane amount of money ($125) after my free trial without warning and without the ability to cancel (for a refund).

Originally, based on Noom’s advertising, it appeared to me that Noom was only for people of a certain age (read those no older than 40!). But the ads kept popping up on my *** feed and so one day I clicked on learn more.
What a revelation!!! Being a western trained MD and Ayurvedic student and practitioner, I was completely surprised and excited to see that Noom is different! Psychology and mindfulness are the keys to changing our current system from one size fits all to personalised and wholistic, from bandaid medicine to prevention and cure! I would recommend Noom to anyone but those with established diagnoses like diabetes or heart disease (etc) to consult a practitioner to help guide you through the process.
My only misgiving is the limited amount of fat recommended on a daily basis that is not based on age or underlying medical conditions. Given the prevalence of memory loss and Alzheimer’s that is descending on our world, this is not a good idea is prevention is truly the goal. Moving forward, I’d like to see Noom hire more coaches that are older as well as consult with users who have background in prevention and health to improve the experience even more by age, underlying medical conditions and familial/inherited diseases.

Wonderful program that does not feel like a diet! Common sense and a bit of psychology all presented with a bit of humor. Great program for anyone.

Worst company & scam I have ever seen! Pretend they give you a 2 week free trial. Then still bill you as well as setting you up to charge like me 264 dollars every 4 months. The program is fragmented, not in any way helpful to those really struggling with weight & health issues, & a person could do better alone. They give you practically no way out of this maze of cost & really very little help! Horrid! Still trying to get out of my "free trial"!

This company advertised a two week trial for free then after a fee per month. I can’t remember specifically, but I recall it was something like $60 per month, which although I felt was slightly more expensive than I was willing to pay, I decided to give it a try. I signed up and was willing to pay a monthly price! The app was slow, and there was a lot of reading of information involved, not much of it practical. The main drawcard was the ability to log meals - although on each occasion I logged meals I had to add them in manually as the barcodes weren't recognised. It was time consuming and frustrating. The day after the end of the two week trial, I was charged $199. I would never have agreed to this price had I known! Concerned, that I had not been using the app, and that my two week period was approaching its end, I went into the app last week and tried to cancel prior to the cancellation date. I received an email noting that I had not logged into the the app in days. There was NOWHERE within the app that I could find to cancel the app, nor was there any information whatsoever about billing cycles or the date that the free trail period was over. I even searched for this information in Google Play. Mistakenly, I assumed that an email would come through to confirm that I wished to continue, or at the very least warning me that the free trial period was approaching its end and that such a big charge was to appear on my credit card. No email came. I have since emailed to try to cancel my subscription and voice my disappointment, with the response from “customer support” being that these were the terms I agreed to when I was sent a confirmation email at the start, therefore no refund is possible. I do not want this product at the price I have been charged, and in fact I feel tricked by, and lied to by this company. I feel a refund is more than appropriate since the transparency of this company is akin to false advertising and stealing. I will never recommend this company to anyone!

For the most part I like. There are some definite pluses and some minuses.
the Pluses
1. Personal relationship with Dan, rather than an automated smart robot with canned statements as often happens with chat boxes.
2. Tips and memory tricks, ways to reframe thinking to keep from getting discouraged.
3. I've been trying to lose weight for a long time, and know what I should eat and not eat, etc, but this seems to have new ways of thinking about food.
4. I really appreciate Dan being patient when I fell and injured myself. It was a very busy time at work, at the church where I volunteer, etc., and hobbling around in pain with a cane became distracting and inconvenient. I had to let something go - I couldn't focus on everything. I do have a doctor's appointment for Thursday, the soonest they could get me in, with the surgeon who did my hip replacement. I'm really hoping this won't require a knee replacement, and that has me fretting. I appreciate Dan checking in even when I said I was taking a step back to focus on my knee.
Minuses
1. Cell phone only - that keyboard is not nearly as easy for me as the laptop. Wish it were either/or, like ***.
2. Doesn't coordinate with ***, which has a much larger known menu of foods in the search bar. I rather enjoy tracking my food in ***, and it's irritating to have to do it twice, and the second time less friendly interface. My coach Dan said it was fine to track it in *** (this is a plus), when I was expecting "No you have to do it our way" So I liked that flexibility. But I wish Noom could have it in the system from that single entry point.
3. Doesn't coordinate with *** for steps, and I don't carry my phone everywhere I go. Women don't have pockets as ubiquitously as men and if I leave my desk to go to the bathroom, I don't take the phone, etc. *** is always on, and it's a pain to have to update Noom on the cellphone keyboard from the *** every day.
Because I've been taught to never expose a problem without offering a solution, I'd be willing to be a Beta-tester for the desktop/laptop/online app when you get that far.
Thanks

I signed up for a "free" trial. Once the 14 days was over, they charged my account $149, which I did not authorize. When I immediately cancelled my account, I looked for a way to contact them to ask for a refund. Their FAQ section states they do not issue refunds once past the trial period for any charges they made on your behalf. There is no telephone number to call and talk to anyone. I want my $149 back. This is a scam.
