They autodial you and when they get a voicemail it doesn't leave a full message. After Googling the number I found the business name. I called the number and it doesn't give the name of the business when it picks up, then I was put on hold for a rep and when he answered I asked for the name of the business he wouldn't tell me. Then asked my name and when I said "Let's say Jane" he hung up the phone on me. This is no way to run a business.

Review: The company is sending me bills saying I owe them for the debt. However, when I contact the company that owns my debt, they assure me my account is still open and current with them and NOT the NRA LLC.Desired Settlement: To stop contacting me and for the BBC to investigate their practices.

Review: Was contacted by this company NRAG,LLC on 6\23\2014. They had informed me they were a collection agency for Physicians of university hospital attempting to collect a debt of $62. I had informed them that the dept of $62 had been paid a few months prior and that I had no knowledge of anything being forwarded to collections. At that point I had immediately contacted the billing department for the hospital and wasinformed that I had a $0 balance with them and that the company that contacted me was not even the collection agency they used. He also said he would be sending an letter of proof that the debt was settled. After this I had contacted ngac back informing them of what this man had told me. They still demanded payment and refused to give me a name or typed bill. I had ended up searching this company and the number that I was called from and everything but their website said that it was a scam. In speaking with them again I had mentioned this and the woman started screaming at me at which point I asked her not to speak over me and when she continued to yell I hung up. I am still receiving phone calls from them. They also have all of my information including s.s. number. This seems to be a fraudulent company that steals peoples information.Desired Settlement: I do not want them to have my information, to stop harassing me and to not damage my credit report.

Review: I've reached out to the National Recovery Agency also know as: American Recovery Agency several times. I initally contacted them because of my credit report. I wanted to notify them that the claim had been paid since 20009. I had paid the amount owed directly to the **. [redacted]'s Office ([redacted]. I've provided proof to National Recovey Agency via fax and mail. I had to fax my documentation several time because they stated that they have not received it. It took them a month or so to receive my proof of payment. After they finally said they had received the proof. They forwarded the information to there Client Sevices office to verify the information. It's now have been over 1 month and they still have not verified the information. I was told that they have to verify the information with there client. So, I reached out to **. [redacted]'s office several times to confirm if they have received anything from National Recovery Agency. Several time **. [redacted]'s office has not received anything via email, mail or fax from them. I contacted National Recovery Agency and gave them **. [redacted] address, phone, and email in order for them to verify my payment. This ordeal has taken about 3month and its still not resolved. I feel that they are giving me the run around. I've ask to speak with the Client Services folks but my request is denied. I was refer to a manager that keep saying that he will reach out to the client services person and call me back but still nothing. Another address for American/National Recovery Agencies is [redacted]. I contacted them on 06/04/13,06/10/13,06/17/13,6/25/13, 7/2/13,7/9/13,7/30/13 and I faxed over documents 06/04/13,06/11/13,6/12/13 and maile documents. I believe I called them before june 4th.Desired Settlement: My desired outcome is this false informationn removed from my credit report immediately.

Response:

Dear [redacted],

Review: I have a negative account on my credit report by this company that does not belong to me. They won't provide me with any more information. I sent them a letter requesting more information about this account and asked them to remove it from my credit report. It's been over 60 days and they have yet to provide me with any information about this debt. They have failed to do both of these things. I was able to get the account removed from one of my credit reports, however the other two still have an outstanding account from this company. I'm appalled at how this company can fail to val[redacted]te my debt and essentially ignore the letter I sent them. I was denied for a credit card for a derogatory account that I don't even own.Desired Settlement: My desired outcome is for them to remove the debt from my credit report if they can't prove to me personally that the debt belongs to me.

Review: On 2/25/14 at 6:48pm, my husband answered the phone. The person asked for me, and my husband said "this is regarding?" The rep then asked very loudly "Is this [redacted]?", my husband said "No, and this is regarding?" The rep then screamed loudly in his ear, "IS THIS [redacted]?" I was in the living room on the couch, maybe 10 ft away from my husband, who was in the dining room, and I heard that scream. My husband then hung up on the rep.

This morning at 10:30 am, they called again. I am home sick. I answered the phone and the rep asked if I was [redacted]. I said yes. The rep immediately asked for the last four digits of my social security number. I asked with whom am I speaking? He said he was from NRA Group LLC. Then asked for me to confirm my address. I again asked what does NRA stand for? I told him that I am not giving any personal information over the phone unless I know who is calling. He again asked me to confirm my address. He stated that he would not explain who he was or what NRA stands for, unless I provided him with the aforementioned personal information. I do not understand why he could not just tell me what the acronym NRA stands for., and I will not provide my personal information over the phone to any ACRONYM that calls and asks for it. The rep who called on the 25th was extremely rude to my husband and the whole conversation I had with today's rep was very 'hole in the dark'. Very suspicious. After retrieving an 800 number from the internet, I contacted them and got the information about the debt they are trying to collect. I will check my records to make sure it was not paid, and then forward payment. While I was on the phone with the rep I called, he told me that as my husband they could have told him what the call was regarding.Desired Settlement: I want for them to re-train their personnel. There was no reason for the rudeness which accompanied their requests. I happen to know that protecting the public's privacy does not include refusing any information regarding the company's name or a general explanation of the reason for calling. They could have provided the explanation of what NRA stands for, it was easy enough to find it on the computer. Not to mention the fact that they could have said it was regarding a bill, without providing the fact that they were trying to collect a past-due account. For all I know, this could have been a fraudulent attempt at getting my personal information.

Review: They called, and though that my boyfriend was me, as my name is [redacted], and tried to verify my last four of my social with him. I am not comfortable with them handing out the most important numbers of a social to anyone, even if it is my boyfriend. On top of that, they would not tell him what their company does, was very rude with him and even hung up on him. He called them back and asked them if he could ask what their business practices. They refused, accused him of being non cooperative and hung up again. I feel like we are at this point being harassed, and their practices need to be updated. The agent responsible for giving out my social identified herself as [redacted], and stated that all calls are recorded.Desired Settlement: I would like for them to stop contacting me.

Review: 1. The company calls two to three times per day. They want me to secure the debt by an automatic payment from my bank. I have explained repeatedly that I cannot do that because I am unemployed. They offer me the opportunity to call them and reschedule the automatic payment date if I do not have the funds for the original date scheduled. I again explained that I cannot do that because I am not employed at this time. I have been told that if I do not set up an automatic payment schedule my account will be reported to the credit bureau as an unpaid debt (even though I have been making monthly payments.

2. I have been making regular payments on the account each month for $100.00. At this time I have no idea what the balance of my account is because I receive no statements.Desired Settlement: I would like the company to stop contacting me and trying to intim[redacted]te me into setting up an automatic payment schedule.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: my account as being marked as a disputed account. If I do not dispute the amount owed and am making regular payments on the balance why is the account categorized this way? The account is active and I should not be forced into authorizing an automatic withdrawal because of the language used to describe accounts where regular payments are made via check.

Regards,

Review: Recently my employer reviewed my credit report for my security clearance. This caused me to closely review my credit reports. I was shocked to see a very new item on my credit report from National Recovery Agency in [redacted], PA. I never received a dunning letter from this agency prior to them reporting to the credit bureaus. I sent them a debt validation letter, to which I received a very basic response that still doesn't prove that the debt is mine. I do not believe I owe this debt and the methods of which I have tried to get validation (phone call and debt validation letter sent) have not proven that I owe this debt. As a consumer, I feel that this agency at least owes me the consideration of showing solid proof that the alleged debt is mine. I appreciate any assistance you may offer in reference to this matter. I would also like to know why no one has contacted me about this alleged debt which allegedly occurred in 2011, until now. The law requires that I be notified of debts before having them placed on my credit report as a collection.Desired Settlement: I would like this removed from my credit report as I am entitled to by law. They have not validated that I received the original merchandise nor that I owe the debt. Additionally, this could potentially have an adverse effect on my employment and needs to be rectified immediately.

Regards,

Review: The account for National Recovery agency is [redacted] that was given to me by a manager that never gave me his name or I just don't remember it. I was called by the agency in 2013 the woman I spoke with was nice and I explained to her that I wasn't aware of the doctors putting me in a collection agency and she gave me time to call them to see why and she would call me back. I guess it was August when she called me back, I explain that the doctors office hadn't called me back. The woman went on saying if I make a payment with her on that day of $50 plus $6.95 processing fee I could still try to call the doctor to find out what happen, I agreed. October I started to look at my bank account and notice that $50 plus $6.95 was taken out for NRA. I immediately called the company to ask why. I was told that I agreed to a recurring charge until the balance was done. I said that I didnt agreed to that and I wanted money back. I spoke with a manager and she said the recorded phone call that I had with the representative has to be reviewed and someone would get back to me. Over the next couple of months I would get gets from other representatives but never a manager. I would ask if my account was being reviewed and they would say it is and still wait until a manager to call. Today I got my credit report and notice that was still in collection for the amount of $117 and $16.78 that I owe. I called and spoke with a woman that said my account was reviewed in october and it was said that I agreed and I have to make the remaining payment. I told her I was never told that within these months and I wanted to speak to a manager. This rude man on his high horse got on the phone and processed to say in October he reviewed my account I was complaining I was never told about the $6.95 fee and then April of the year he reviewed my account for the money being taken out of my account Illegally. I asked him why did he reviewed my account in April if this has been on going since October 2013, he said we passed that and it was found that I didnt agreed for us to move on. I told him no that I wanted to hear the call so I could move on and he said it was a legal issue so I said to take me to court and let it come out and kept saying I wouldn't want that and I repeatedly said to take me to court. For 20 Minutes we argued I kept saying to prove to me that I agreed and I will pay the balance that I dont believe him and for all this time no one got back to me, Im not going to believe that I need proof. He stated just pay it through the mail so I didnt have to be charge the processing fee. I agreed to that but as nasty he was gave me the account from them and started to laugh at me saying something before I hung up on him.Desired Settlement: Really I just wish they all go to heck, thats what I want but ill take a paid in full letter sent to me and apology, and I want them to treat the people who are trying to work with to resolve the issue with respect and for them to be professional.

I am rejecting this response because: This issue has been since October of 2013 and I spoke to the nastiest manager in June 2014 for him to tell me he doesn't know why it take so long and he went over my voice recording were he came to the conclusion that I agreed to the withdraw but when I ask for proof he refused my request. So I don't believe him or anyone from his company. I don't won't to do business with that company anymore.

Response:

Dear [redacted] and [redacted]:

NRA Group, LLC is in receipt of your complaint dated April 24, 2013. Please accept the following as a response to same.

Our company has a policy regarding requests to fax information to credit advisors. This policy is put in place for the protection of NRA Group as well as the consumer. Our office requests that if a credit advisor requires information regarding an account iof a consumer that he or she send our office a borrower's release form. This form gives our office permission from the consumer, in this case [redacted], to speak with his credit advisor and release personal and confidential information to the credit advisor regarding any accounts that are in office. Again this request is made for the protection of the consumer as well as NRA Group. Our office requires that this request be sent on the credit advisor's company letterhead so we can clearly tell who the credit advisor is and that this request include a signed and dated authorization from the consumer.

We understand [redacted]' request for deletion from his credit report, however, we are required by federal law to report these accounts as paid in full if they are paid in full. A receipt letter showing that the accounts have been paid was sent to [redacted] attention on April 25, 2013. This receipt letter clearly states the date that an account was paid, the amount of payment, the method of payment and advises that if the account was reported to the consumer's credit report that it will be updated according to the federal law. If another copy of the receipt letters is required by [redacted] we can resend these letters to his attention.
