Optima Tax Relief was a great relief After contacting OTR about my tax problem with the IRS and the State I was told that I could be helped with the IRS, but that the State would be a problem One year later both the IRS and the State have forgiven my tax debt Without the help of the staff of OTR I would not have been able to accomplish this They are professional and really know how to deal with the IRS Would recommend them to anyone needing assistance with tax relief

During our conversation with the clients, we were informed that the
clients had
assumed that Optima Tax would obtain a reduction in liability with the IRS. It
was soon apparent that there was a misunderstanding and that while Optima
strives to obtain the best possible resolution for its clients, a reduction in
liability is not an automatic outcome. Optima Tax services are broken down into
two Phases - an Investigation Phase and a Resolution PhaseDuring our
Investigation Phase, it was determined that under the IRS guidelines, the
clients unfortunately did not qualify for a reduction.
The
results of our Investigation were presented and clearly communicated to the
clients prior to moving forward with our Resolution PhaseContrary to clients’
contention that Optima communicated poorly, our records show that we did indeed
follow our internal protocols in an effort to provide great customer service,
and consequently, Optima Tax had performed its contractual obligations as
outlined in the Client Services AgreementDespite such, in light of our
continued effort to provide relief and strong customer service, we have provided
the clients with additional guidance since their complaint and they were
extremely grateful for our time and effortsWe now consider this matter closed
and in good standing.

Optima Tax’s management has made numerous attempts to contact the client to address his concerns as outlined in the complaintPrior to receiving the complaint, one of Optima Tax’s Quality Assurance representatives made multiple attempts to address the client’s frustrations but the client proved to be unresponsive to Optima Tax’s effortsAfter we received the complaint, we continued our endeavor to discuss the client’s frustrations to no availWhen the client did respond, the responses were vague and further allegations were made claiming that our Quality Assurance team never made any attempt to reach himAfter a thorough review, our records show otherwise
As the client indicated in his complaint, prior to contacting Optima Tax Relief, the IRS had already begun collection activity against the clientShortly after enrolling into our Resolution Phase, the IRS took legal action to obtain the remainder of the client’s outstanding balanceThe client claims that his assigned Case Manager failed to submit documents in a timely mannerHowever, it was the client who had failed to provide us with substantiation regarding a certain business transaction that the IRS was made aware of from their conversations with the clientWithout substantiation and with the client unwilling to provide Optima Tax with the supporting documents, the IRS’ legal action could not have been prevented
Although the client did provide an income and expense worksheet as well as bank statements, it was not the supporting documents the Revenue Officer was requestingThe Revenue Officer wanted substantiation regarding a business transaction but the client refused to provide us with a thorough explanation as to what occurred during this specific business transactionAfter repeated attempts to obtain this information, the client became verbally abusive and demanded we cancel his fileAt no point did we argue with the client or use profanity when communicating with the clientFurthermore, after thoroughly interviewing the team that was assigned to the client, it was determined that they did not call the client from their personal cellphoneIt’s extremely unfortunate that the client is going through immense hardships but, we feel that his allegations are unwarrantedFurthermore, since the client is unwilling to discuss the nature of his complaint we have no choice but to close the case on our end

My husband and I received a letter from the IRS stating they had not received a prior year tax return We promptly contacted them to find out find out which year, according to my records we had sent off the return but still they insisted they didn't receive it We sent in another copy of the return Soon after we received another letter stating we still owed a balance on that return and the IRS added another $3,in penalties and late fees AND they garnished my husbands wages I started looking online for a company that could help us, there were only two companies that had A ratings or higher, Optima being the highest rated I contacted Optima and the representative that initiated the case was very upfront about the process explaining every step that would happen We paid the money to initiate our case, Optima quickly got to work and stopped our wage garnishment which was a huge relief in itself The process has taken a long time and there is a lot of paperwork to do and monthly bank statements etcto send in but during the whole process each person handling our case stayed in contact with us via phone and e-mail They always explained every step of the process that we were entering into and answered every question and concern we had while treating us with respect at the same time which is more than I could say for the IRS Our case was just completed, the IRS did not do a compromise but we do have some time before we have to pay and we will be able to make payments If I understood correctly though, we are back to the original amount owing on the tax return and we don't owe the penalties Since starting this process, I have told several other people about Optima tax relief and would recommend them to anyone in this difficult and scary situation

OMG Optima Tax Relief is the best in the business Lawyers and Accountants told me they could not help me so I called Optima and not one time did I feel unsure of my successful outcomeI thought I was going to be in debt forever but Optima did exactly what they said they were going to do and now I am debt free from the IRS Thx Optima for all your help!!!! Dear *** : Please correct my name to *** ** *** not *** ** ***.I have reviewed the response from Optima and I am very disappointed with the dishonest remarks they have made to cover up their incompetenceAs recent as August the 14th Optima Tax sent us a letter requesting that we forfeit our rights to remedy from their damage to usThey wanted us to keep our mouths quiet and not say a word about their workI will attach a copy of their horrible letter to you shortly but Optima had ample time to address our state and local taxWe have documentation not conversation that will demonstrate what they told us when we signed on with themThey have been dishonest and misrepresented the truth numerous times in their letter to you.For example, Optima report that the state was involved in prior to our contracting OptimaWe were not being garnished at the time we contracted with OptimaWe contacted Optima in and nothing is further from the truth that there was a threat of garnishmentThe state should have been contacted by Optima in early January of this year as they had our Power of AttorneyWe sent Optima letter after letter urging them to contact the stateThey failed to do anythingOptima did not contact the state on our behalf and allowed time to runI urged *** *** of Optima and *** *** numerous times that they should contact the state to get a discussion goingOptima failed to do that and that is why the state more than six months later having not heard form our representative (Optima) initiated action to garnish my wagesThe primary reason we sought our Optima is due to the fact that we were told by their sales person *** *** and their national spokesperson who is on TV every day saying that that they will help the customer avoid garnishmentThey failed. Optima says that we failed to provide completed documents to them in a timely mannerAgain Optima is not being truthfulWe sent every document Optima requested on timeOptima lost our documents several times and came back to us repeatedly requesting the same documents over and over again. For example, we filed our paperwork for the filing in plenty of time for Optima to file our taxes on timeWithout telling us, Optima was late in filing the document, filed for an extension without informing us that they had. Then, only after we insisted on asking where the documents were they finally sent them to us for signature well after the tax deadlineThe documents were sitting on a staff persons desk for who knows how longThere is no basis for them to ever report that we were late nor is there evidence to support their claim that we were.If Optima had done anything at all on our behalf we would not have been garnishedThey failed to contact the state on our behalfI requested as recent as last week an accounting of all work done on our behalf with the state and a record of contact they have made with the state since we signed on with them last yearWe have not received any documentation that would let us know they did anything on our behalfWe asked for evidence to support their work for usWe have received nothing and have paid a ton of money for a tax return filing that was delinquent. We submitted all information requested on time and in orderWe never heard from Optima about what the status was on our behalf. They changed our representatives twice with not progress or communication that they were doing so..*** of Optima told us as recent as weeks ago that Optima would work to negotiate a reduction in the garnishment from 100%v to 50%Now he is telling us they cannot do anything for us? We went with Optima with hopes of having them present an Offer In Compromise to the IRS for hardship reasonsOptima said they would explore all options and yet we have had no conversations about thisRather, Optima never considered a hardship while they have all of our financial information that will demonstrate we will not be able to pay this off in my lifetimeI will be able to work perhaps another 36 months and hope my health affords that They called us to discuss a payment plan to the IRSWith what funds? Optima is dishonest in their representation of facts and truthThey have not resolved our case and to date we know of nothing that has been done on our behalf

Optima Tax was very professionalThey kept me up to date and informed throughout the whole processI would strongly recommend their services

I am not at all happy with Optima Tax Relief, they charged me $for "phase 1" investigationAs far as I can tell all they did for this was pull my tax balance from the IRS which I had already provided to themAt the end of the investigation my case was handed off several times to different reps, all of which I had trouble setting up a meeting forWhen I finally did receive my "Phase results" they were unable to tell me a plan moving forward saying only that they would need another for the resolution phaseThey also told me at this point that I was no longer protected by their representation and the "IRS may take action", with no presented plan moving forward
This company deliberatly took my money with no intention to help, knowing I was already in financial troubleThis is the definition of predatoryI requested a refund for my "Phase 1" and no one has responded with a resolutionDO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
