I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the The statement is incorrect because I spoke with the internal revenue officer and I was levy/garnish because she never heard from anyone at Optima Tax Relief The only reason the estimated tax became an issue is because of my constant compliant that nothing was being done Once I spoke with the agent she lifted the levy since she finally heard from someone regarding my tax issues and only the thing mentioned was that I needed to give them the 433-A form to set up in a payment plan Then I can discuss how to setup the estimated tax planThe people at Optima Tax Relief has been trying to convince me to give them another opportunity but I don't trust them and I want to be refunded some of the monies paid for services not performedAlso, the internal revenue officer is waiting for my decision whether I will continue with Optima Tax Relief.

RESPONSE
-
Optima Tax’s management has made
contact with the client to discuss her concerns as outlined in the complaintWe
are disappointed to hear that the client feels as if she was ripped off due to
not being aware of the secondary retainerHowever, after a careful review, the
client signed our Client Services Agreement which clearly states that there
will be a secondary retainer if the client decides to move forward into our
Resolution PhaseFurthermore, the client went through
a personal Verification Call, which was recorded, where she confirmed and
acknowledged that there will be a secondary retainer upon entering into our
Resolution Phase
After
the Investigation was complete, the Tax Associate presented the client with our
findings and the specialized services we will perform in order to resolve her
caseDue to the complexity of her case, a significant retainer was required
for the resolution phaseOptima Tax never demanded the client to pay this
secondary retainerIn contrast, we simply presented the client with her
options as well as the pricing and the client decided not to move forward with
the resolution phaseAlso, based on her desire to work with Optima, while also
expressing a concern about affordability, we presented her with an extended
payment arrangement that we believe would have lessened any financial burden,
but she respectfully declinedWe understand that affordability plays a major
roll with our clients but, this does not negate the fact that we completed a
thorough Investigation into the client’s tax liabilityIt’s unfortunate that
we could not continue our business relationship but we are happy to say that we
did come to a mutual and satisfactory agreement
At
Optima Tax we strive to uphold the
philosophy that "clients come first" and all of our representatives
go through rigorous training to
assure we abide by that philosophyWe take all complaints very seriously, and
we do our best to turn them around when possibleOptima

Optima Tax Relief - Review about Tax Resolution Services from Bourne, Massachusetts
of
Optima Tax Relief Reviews
Bourne, Massachusetts May
I sought out help from Optima because I felt powerless against a bloated, heartless, IRS machine.I was told by *** *** at Optima that I was a good hardship candidate however that would be confirmed during the investigation phase
It was explained to me that IRS was like a story building, so to speak, and I was in no danger of levy or other actions because I was on still on the first floor, further Optima would protect me from broaden action and “keep me on the first floor,” “I should not worry, I now had Optima on my side“ When the investigation phase was completed, I was contacted by *** ***, she informed me that the time had come to move forward and in order to do that I would need to pay a further fee to which I agreed after specifically clarifying that Optima would be able to decrease the amount of money IRS was expecting to collect from meI said “ this is a lot of money for me, I need to be sure Optima will be decreasing my tax burden.” I stated that I supposedly owed IRS 13,+ and now I will be paying Optima 3000.00, when I could be putting this money down on my IRS bill if Optima could not decrease my debt.” ***, assured me I would NOT end up expending more money than my original debt, so I felt secure and decided to trust Optima and proceeded with the next phaseDuring this phase, *** *** continued asking for additional financial information, which I provided, I also immediately sent all IRS correspondences’ I received to *** and ***
In March of this year, IRS levied my bank accountThe notice of Levy now included an additional dollars, so now I have a debt of 14,000+I immediately informed ***, ***, and any other Optima email or phone number I happened to haveWhen *** called me back, she seemed surprised I was levied and then strangely stated, “I didn’t think they would do that so soon.” She stated I needed to sign a power of attorney and contact my bank
I asked her how this could happen when just a week or so earlier she called me and told me my case was “on the lawyer’s desk” and she would be in touch? I asked why the amount I now owed IRS was more and she said “well, penalties and interest still accrue.” I stated that I was told this would not happen, I would not be levied, I would not have to pay additional penalties etcShe said she didn’t know it happened but would contact meWhen *** did call, she told me, she had good news
She stated that the lawyer was able to get my money released and set up a payment planOf course I was thrilled to have my money released but was confused about the payment planI asked *** what this meant and whether the plan was on the new increased amount? She seemed annoyed by the question and said yes the plan was on the 14,000+
I expressed I was very unhappy with thisI told her that I hoped she did not consider this a resolution and also articulated that I was concerned that IRS would no longer be willing to compromise in any way now that Optima agreed on a payment plan*** expressly stated that this was temporary, Optima was still working to decrease my debt and she would be in touchI called her several times since then with no response
Finally *** *** contacted me after I sent an email to Optima quality controlI understood him to say that both IRS and Optima considered the matter closed and both considered the outcome to be positiveSure this was a great outcome for IRSIt was a fantastic outcome for Optima however, for me the outcome was a complete loose!
I now owe more to IRS than I did when I contacted OptimaI paid Optima to prevent levy, garnishment, penalties, and, reduction of debtI could have arranged a payment plan with IRS myself on the original debtHad I thought that entering into a contract with Optima would cost me more money than when I began I certainly would not have done so; I find incredulous to believe anyone would
The fact of the matter is that Optima represented itself as being able to reduce tax burden and prohibit levy etc…things I could not have done myselfSimply put, I paid for a service from Optima that Optima failed to provideBottom line, while wasting time with Optima, interest and penalties were accruing on my original debtI fail to see how Optima in good conscience, would not want to refund all monies
I feel this is the only fair and equitable resolution
In my estimation, Optima should refund all the money I paid, further If Optima really wanted to be fair, the extra dollars IRS has tacked on during the time I was being “protected” by Optima should be refunded or paid directly to IRS on my behalf; however, Optima has now ever so generously agreed to refund but are "not inclined to return anymore that that" to that I say...*** Optima, I hope my word of mouth and social media help to shut your dishonest and misleading company down

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolvedWhile they processed the refund in a timely fashion I disagree that I did not give them time to send me the paperwork necessary to go to Phase 2.

Optima Tax’s management has reached out to the client to
discuss their concerns as outlined in the complaintWe are currently working
together with the client to come to a mutual resolveOnce a resolution is met
we will provide a closing responseThank you

I have been working with Optima since I paid them a large retainer and they have basically done nothing to reduce or remove fees They have simply proposed a payment plan identical to what is on the statement mailed by the irs If you have non liquid resources do not pay them, they can do nothing I laid out the entire situation with the sales person and they were certain they could help

I called Optima Tax Relief to help me with a problem
They were very professional and knowledgeable They asked questions and took down my information and later came back with a proposal
They were very open with the process and explained everything well
They gave me a inclusive price for working with my problem and then I decided from there to go forward
No surprises at the end They worked with the IRS and came back with a proposal and options

Tax's management contacted the client to address his
concerns and the client has agreed to continue his relationship with Optima Tax
RESPONSE
-
Optima Tax’s management has made contact with the client to
address his concerns as outlined in the complaintOur services are broken down
into two phases, an Investigation Phase and the Resolution PhaseDuring the
Investigation Phase we were advised by the IRS that they would not release the client’s
wage garnishment until it received certain financial informationOptima Tax’s
associate thoroughly informed the client of this IRS stipulation and the client
was made aware that time was of the essenceThe client was prompt in providing
Optima Tax with the documents that the IRS requiredUpon receiving the
documents, our Tax Professional forwarded the financial documents to the IRS
and as a result, Optima Tax was successful in negotiating a release of the
client’s wage garnishmentUnfortunately, the IRS was unable to notify the
client’s employer in enough time to prevent the second withdrawal of funds from
the client’s wagesAfter informing the client of this sequence of events, he
understood that Optima Tax was not
at fault for the second garnishment of his wages and we’re delighted to say that
the client has decided to continue having Optima Tax
represent him towards achieving a final resolution of his tax liability
At Optima
Tax we strive to uphold the philosophy that "clients come first" and
all of our representatives go through rigorous training to assure we abide by
that philosophyWe take all complaints very seriously, and we do our best to

RESPONSE -Optima Tax’s management has been in communication with the client to address his concerns as outlined in the complaintAs the client stated, he paid for services that he feels were never renderedWe did educate the client that there is a fair amount of internal work done on his case but since his case was prolonged from his initial complaint, he has yet to allow us the dedicated time to investigate his case and present him with a formulated strategy to resolve his case as a wholeWe also informed the client that negotiations and further discussions with the IRS do not commence until he decides to enroll into our Resolution Phase of our two Phase approach. It’s truly unfortunate the client feels the way he does, however we are pleased that we were able to reach a mutual agreement with him and amicably resolve this matter At Optima Tax we strive to uphold the philosophy that "clients come first" and all of our representatives go through rigorous training to assure we abide by that philosophyWe take all complaints very seriously, and we do our best to turn them around when possibleOptima Tax believes it has addressed the client's concerns appropriately and considers the matter closed. Please do not hesitate to contact Optima Tax with any questionsThank you

Tell us why here...SUMMARY -Optima Tax's management is in contact with the client and we’re working towards a mutual resolve RESPONSE -Optima Tax has establish communication with the client in an effort to address the claims as
outlined in the complaintFirst and foremost, the client did not hire Optima Tax to reduce their debtThey hired Optima Tax to represent them before the IRSAfter reviewing the case at no point did any agent promise, guarantee or even insinuate that the debt would be reducedAdditionally, we did not promise the client that their case would be resolved with the IRS by a specific dateAs the client noted in the complaint, Optima Tax presented the client with two options to resolve their case with the IRS, but the client is unhappy with the available options Given the large amount owed to the IRS, a lien was all but guaranteed to be placed on the client, so the IRS may secure their interest in the debtThe lien process, as well as the services the client contractually agreed to, was thoroughly explained prior to receiving payment for our servicesAlthough the client may feel that the client is capable of achieving these options on their own, this does not obligate the client to a refundThe client engaged Optima Tax to perform a service, which was specifically stated in the contract, and Optima Tax performed its obligations entitling it to the agreed upon compensationHowever, Optima Tax remains willing to come to a mutual resolve with the client. At Optima Tax we strive to uphold the philosophy that "clients come first" and all of our representatives go through rigorous training to assure we abide by that philosophyWe take all complaints very seriously, and we do our best to turn them around when possibleOptima Tax believes it has addressed the client's concerns appropriately and considers the matter closedPlease do not hesitate to contact Optima Tax with any questionsThank you
