RESPONSE - Optima Tax’s management has been in communication with the client to address his concerns as outlined in the complaintAs the client stated, he contacted Optima Tax to assist with an outstanding tax liabilityGiven the complexity of the case and the collection status with the IRS, time was of the essence Upon enrolling into our Resolution Phase in June of the client was provided a list of supporting documents that we needed him to provide for our reviewOptima Tax did not receive the supporting documents until AugustAlthough the client claims we were never in contact with the IRS or the assigned Revenue Officer, our notes and call logs show numerous communications between Optima Tax and the IRSBased on the Power of Attorney on file, the assigned Revenue Agent attempted to contact the wrong Tax Professional at Optima Tax. However, any message received from the assigned IRS agent was returned promptly and the IRS agent was informed that the assigned Tax Professional would reach out to establish communication In conclusion, there is no evidence suggesting that Optima Tax failed to return any calls, emails or respond to any inquiry in a timely fashionMoreover, Optima Tax is working with the client to come to a mutually satisfactory resolution to this complaint At Optima Tax we strive to uphold the philosophy that "clients come first" and all of our representatives go through rigorous training to assure we abide by that philosophyWe take all complaints very seriously, and we do our best to turn them around when possibleOptima Tax believes it has addressed the client's concerns appropriately and will continue to work with the client to finalizing a mutual resolvePlease do not hesitate to contact Optima Tax with any questionsThank you

My experience with this company was a very good and thorough oneThey got all my taxes done and helped me with my IRS issuesthey were very diligent in getting me to get the paperwork they needed, and very patient with my incompetence when it came to getting my tax papers togetherNow I am currently up to date and pressure of all of back taxes are not hanging over meThis was a major stress relief for me

Optima Tax Relief are THIEVES and Liars They did NOTHING to help me and mept asking for the same paperwork and over and over Transferring my case to so many different people amd promising results and resolution that came in the form of a levy and frozen bank accounts thatbTHEY SWORE would not happen William S is a fraud amd took my $14,dollars and basically told me good luck getting it back and tjey would tie me up in court for years and make me pay all the attorney fees They have harrassed me and dared me to try to get my money back I am not the only one OPTIMA WILL SCREW YOU HARDI am so upset They are awful and need to be looked at closelyDO NOT USE THEM THEYBARE FRAUDS!

complaint, he hired Optima Tax to represent him on behalf of the IRS due to an outstanding liability In the complaint, the client claims he hired Optima Tax for a reduction in his debtContrary to this statement, per the Client Services Addendum the client hired us to perform certain services including, among other things, Collection Representation, IRS Compliance, Audit Reconsideration and ultimately setting up an affordable payment plan based on the client’s income and expensesAlthough Optima Tax has been successful in obtaining reductions in certain clients tax liabilities, based on meeting specific factors, at no point did Optima Tax promise, guarantee or in any way insinuate that the client would receive a reductionFurthermore, the client went through a voice recorded Verification Call that covers all legal disclosures with each disclosure requiring a “yes” answer before moving forwardAfter reviewing the call, the client understood and agreed to all disclosures and understood the services Optima Tax would provide As the client stated in the complaint, after thoroughly reviewing his case for any potential reduction it had been determined that he does not qualify for such programsSince the IRS requires a resolution in place to avoid any type of enforcement action, Optima Tax successfully negotiated a favorable payment plan, which is lower than the amount referenced in the complaint, which will prevent such actionMoreover, the resolution we negotiated would also prevent the IRS from asking the client to liquidate any assets to pay the balance in fullUntil the balance is satisfied, the IRS will continue to apply penalties and interest to the principle balance until it is paid in fullTo say that we did not provide a service nor did Optima Tax earn any of the fees is an inaccurate statementWe spent a lot of time and energy on his case including representing the client in an Audit ReconsiderationUnfortunately, the IRS was unwilling to adjust their audit determination despite Optima’s attempts At Optima Tax we strive to uphold the philosophy that "clients come first" and all of our representatives go through rigorous training to assure we abide by that philosophyWe take all complaints very seriously, and we do our best to turn them around when possibleOptima Tax believes it has addressed the client's concerns appropriately and will continue to reach out to the client until we come to a final resolvePlease do not hesitate to contact Optima Tax with any questionsThank you

Problem:I have previously filed a complaint about this companyI have been trying to work with them for over a year and a halfAfter my first complaint, I did hear from the companyThey made promises of helping me, making my case of more importance, and better communicationNone of this has happenedI have had a levy placed on my bank account, which they assured me would not happenI have had no contact with them since September, and now I have received a letter from the IRS stating a I missed a payment on a agreement of which I have not idea of, which I never made, and no nothing about, I am tired of speaking with the incompetent people employed by this companyThey talk in coded circles, ask for things which have already been done, and they do not listen to you when you speakThey speak over you and can't answer simple questions asked of themI want no further contact with the company and I want a full refund of the over $they have taken from me.Desired Outcome:I want all my paperwork returned to me and a full refund!

I wholeheartedly recommend using Optima Tax Relief to help solve problems with the IRSIt tells you clearly what your options are and recommends which of those is the best to pursueI always received prompt attention to any questions I hadThe staff was unfailingly supportive and courteousMy situation was resolved to my satisfaction, and I would not have been able to reach that resolution without the help of Optima

Per the client’s request, we will be sending both recorded Verification Calls for his reviewAlthough the topic of a possible reduction was discussed with the client, we are extremely transparent and we thoroughly inform each client that any attempted reduction must be approved by the IRS, thus there is no guarantee or promise that a reduction will in fact be agreed toGiven the client’s financial posture, the agreement the assigned Optima Tax team successfully negotiated on behalf of the client is favorable for the client and within the IRS guidelines, and also ensures the client is now compliant with their tax liabilities and protected from any collection actions

not negate the fact that Optima Tax performed a vast amount of effort to
resolve the client’s business liabilityThroughout
the course of our services, the client was prompt in providing the requested
documentsThe assigned tax professional was prompt in sending the necessary documents
to the assigned Revenue OfficerAfter repeated attempts to get in touch with
the Revenue Officer to discuss the case, the tax professional received a
message from the IRS that they lost the requested documentsThe tax professional
immediately resent the informationThereafter, the tax professional, again,
made repeated attempts to reach the Revenue Officer, with no successWe can
provide a log of our attempts upon request
As
we continued our attempts to contact the Revenue Officer, the client was very
diligent in sending in any requested or updated documentsWhile sending in the
requested documents, the assigned team was also preparing documents to satisfy
the client’s personal liabilityAlthough the Revenue Officer was proving to be
unreachable, we took the initiative and contacted their Automated Collect Servicing
unit to determine what could be done to help expedite a resolution of the
liabilityYes, we did present the client what appears to be the same figures
as when the client initially signed upHowever, had the Revenue Officer been
more responsive to our actions, we are confident we would have achieved the
same outcome the client was able to achieve outside our services
We
believe that the option we presented the client is reasonable in comparison to
our efforts to help resolve his business matterMore importantly, it will
allow us to continue our relationship and help resolve his personal liability

Given the complexity of the individual client’s case ultimately dictates the amount of time needed to resolve the caseIn fact, Optima Tax clearly disclosed to the client the potential time line for a resolutionAlthough we appreciate the client’s frustration with having the IRS file a tax lien on his property, this action is a result of the IRS securing its interest in recovering the full amount of the client’s tax liability and not a result of Optima Tax failing to fulfill its obligations to the clientFurthermore, the client went through a voice recorded Verification Call that covers all legal disclosures with each disclosure requiring a “yes” answer before moving forwardDuring this call the client was informed of the services he contracted Optima Tax to perform and also the fact that the IRS can initiate enforcement action at any time, penalties and interest will continue to accrue until the balance is paid in full, and that the IRS has the right to issue a lien. When you call they promise to help you with all your IRS problems, and in exchange for your fee, to reach a resolution of some sortI paid them over $5,in to represent me, and am still considered a client, but they have done absolutely zero for meThey have not stopped any garnishments, or arranged any payments with the IRSThey don't even bother to call me anymoreIf I try to call my case manager, I get a runaroundI would never recommend them to anyone

cannot be successful unless our clients maintain their filing compliance
with the IRS, as instructedOptima informed the client of her need to make
Estimated Tax Payments because she is self-employedUnfortunately, the client
did not make these Estimated Tax Payments, which has resulted in the IRS
levying the clientTherefore, Optima informed the client of the $1,she
needs to pay to the IRS in order to be current with her Estimated Tax Payments
Once the client makes these payments and is in compliance, Optima Tax can
continue servicing the client’s account to achieve a resolution with the IRS
Moreover,
in contrast to the client’s belief that Optima has not contacted the Revenue
Officer, we recently sent the IRS a packet of financial information so we can successfully
resolve her caseIn addition, we have informed the client of the status on her
case and also provided her with some options in lieu of her dissatisfaction so
that we may continue our relationshipThe client is weighing her options and
she will advise Optima Tax accordingly
