Review: Where do I start. I am an Independent Designer with Origami Owl and I have 4 IDs on my team. This company has not honored it's contract to its thousands of sellers. From orders that have been backordered for MONTHS, to unanswered emails, phone calls and now harassment over what they say are noncompliance issues on my [redacted] page, this company has been a huge appointment after I have invested nearly $1,000 in business fees. I would like a refund on my investments for the 2 business packages I've purchased (one for myself & one for a designer as an incentive).

The company is threatening to revoke my seller status and I simply don't think it's fair after they have did fill orders for nearly 2 months. This company has RUINED my reputation.Desired Settlement: I am seeking a refund of my investments.

Response:

Please be advised that the goal of our Compliance Department is to ensure that each and every Independent Designer is operating his or her business in accordance with our Policies and Procedures. Our intent is to advise a potentially non-compliant Designer of the infraction that has been brought to our attention and to work with that Designer to remedy the infraction.

Upon becoming an Independent Designer you agreed to abide by our Policies and Procedures. There are several issues with your [redacted] page that are non-compliant.

Your [redacted] username should be stated as {Origami Owl-(your name)-Independent Designer}; Your [redacted] Cover picture is an Origami Owl picture that has been altered which is against our Policies and Procedures; There are photos of O2 Living Lockets containing charms that are not O2 which is prohibited by our policies and procedures. There are also pictures of Living Lockets with sorority charms which is also not allowed being that in order to create or display fraternity and sorority themed Loving Lockets, a third-party license from the Intra-Fraternity Council of the National PanHellenic Council is required. You may only use a single Greek Letter in your Locket.

Until resolution has been reached, your Designer status has been suspended.

If you would like to permanently cancel your Designer status and receive a 90% refund less 10% restocking fee , you would have to return all merchandise that has been bought by you within the past year and is in resalable condition.

Please contact us at [redacted]@OrigamiOwl.com if you have any additional questions or concerns.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The [redacted] issue is only one of the problems I have had with this company. In several email exchanges, I explained that [redacted] rejected my name change. I did not have any acceptable proof and they would not accept an invoice nor business cards as proof.

The compliance issues regarding pictures on my page, there was only 1 that was brought to my attention where 1 charm was not an o2 charm, that was a picture that was shared from another designer. The other issues that the company are taking up are simply erroneous and the fact that other designers still in fact have the exact same pictures on their pages, should be proof that nothing is wrong with the images.

The Sorority charms... GET REAL. Origami Owl actually used REAL Greek Organization letters in their marketing campaign for its Sorority charms. Please see the attached pictures and email exchanges.

The entire issue of having a license to sell those was not addressed until I brought it to the company's attention. As instructed per the company's policies, I approached my uplines first. Still no response. Please see the attached documentation of emails that were sent to to get clarification on the policy after I was approached by several Greek leaders regarding the issue of violating their Vendor Policy. It wasn't until after I went to my attorney and got a statement written up that anyone noticed there was a clear violation of the Greek Vendor License. A simple search of "Origami Owl Sorority Lockets/Charms" will prove that apparently I am not the only one that didn't get the message, as thousands of others designers are still using "unauthorized images" in regards to not only the Greek Charms, but several of the other violations that you all claim I have done.

As far as returning merchandise to get a refund, how in the world can I return items that I was forced to sell due the lack of inventory from the company that I signed up to sell for. I have provided documentation that was sent from "The Nest" explaining lack or correspondence and back order issues that seemingly have yet to be resolved.

I am still not clear on why MY account has been singled out, when clearly I am not the only designer who unknowingly violated policies. I still want a refund of my investment and I per my attorney I needed to take these steps before taking further legal action. I have filed my claim here and the State of Alabama's Attorney General Office has forwarded my compliant to the FTC. So hopefully O2's business practices can be reviewed. How can a company continue to grow so fast and not be prepared? And to add insult to injury, I received a letter from Origami Owl's Compliance department regarding my "argumentative" emails... REALLY? I've attached copies of my emails with the department, where I explained my situation. I actually STOPPED responding to the emails.

Origami Owl and it's "lead" designers have a way of intimidating their designers to where they are afraid to speak up. I also have concerns from other designers with issues that are worse than mine. Something needs to change. And with the company already issuing refunds for orders you all can NOT fulfill ... orders that have been on back order for months, you should do us all a favor and refund those who have been let down by your company.

Regards,

Business

Response:

Please understand that we contact Designers with non-compliant issues as they are brought to our attention. We asked you to remove the city and state from your [redacted] username as it was not in compliance with our P&P's (with which you agreed to comply upon execution of your Designer Enrollment agreement). We had many other Designers make this change without issue. Some Designers, when adding the name "Origami Owl" were required to provide an invoice to [redacted] as proof; we have not been advised by them of any issues.

We asked that you use Origami Owl - approved images on your [redacted] cover page and that you not use images advertising another company on your Origami Owl [redacted] page or along with Origami Owl merchandise (again, as stated in our P&P's Independent† Designers must use Origami Owl’s pre-approved images, which can be found in the Independent† Designer’s Back Office†.). We also advised that we reach out to non-compliant Designers as they become known to us and we asked if you would provide us with additional information with regard to your accusations).

In regards to the sorority charms, due to the fact that we were contacted by the intra-fraternity council, we posted a newsfeed with regard to the issue (which we have attached to this complaint). Upon the advice of our attorneys, we posted that information in order to confirm that we as a company were not promoting the use of Greek letters to form the name of a fraternity or sorority in advertising and that our Independent Designers were in fact, independent and doing so without the consent of the corporate offices.

If many other Designers are still using unauthorized images, again, you are free to provide us with information regarding these non-compliant Designers so that we may contact them.

As far as receiving a refund for your investment, there is no "investment" to become an Origami Owl Designer. As stated in our P&P's, upon termination, Upon cancellation of a Designer Enrollment Agreement, the Independent† Designer may return Business Packages,† products that he or she personally purchased from Origami Owl (purchases from other Independent† Designers or third parties are not subject to refund) that are in Resalable† condition and which have been purchased within one (1) year prior to the date of cancellation. Upon receipt of a Resalable† Business Package† and/or Resalable† products, the Independent† Designer will be reimbursed 90% of the net cost of the original purchase price(s). Neither shipping nor handling charges incurred by an Independent† Designer when the Business Package† products were purchased nor return shipping fees and/or taxes will be refunded. If the purchases were made through a credit card, the refund will be credited back to the same account. If an Independent† Designer was paid a commission† or bonus† based on a product(s) that he or she purchased, and such product(s) is subsequently returned for a refund, the commission† that was paid based on that product purchase will be deducted from the amount of the refund. Replicated Website† fees or any fees associated with recurring Business Suites† are not refundable except as required by applicable state law.

Review: I have repeatedly contacted Origami Owl, by phone and by email, requesting support in transfering my annual convention ticket to another designer. I have emailed from the business website, directly from my email account, and through the RegOnline link. I have called and been told I cannot speak with them, that I must wait for a call back. Customer care has said they will "personally deliver" the message. I have called customer care and been told I won't receive a call back for a week due to upcoming events. This has happened twice. Over a month later, still no call back! I have tried to resolve the issue directly through the online registration site; however, I was informed I don't have an account with them and to remedy the situation I must contact[redacted]@OrigamiOwl.com…..which I have done repeatedly without success.Desired Settlement: Contact me directly by phone to resolve the issue. Transfer the convention registration and provide confirmation by email.

Good Morning [redacted]:

I have just received confirmation from the appropriate department regarding this concern. I do apologize I was given the wrong information. I have confirmed with the Events Team who check their registrations list your name does not appear on the list as registered. I have been requested to ask if you have the confirmation number that you would have received upon completion of registration so they may further look into this issue. I was also requested to confirm you were the original person that registered for the conference ticket and it was not transferred to you by another Designer.

Thank you for your assistance in resolving this matter.

My mother and I decided to host a party after becoming interested in Origami Owl’s lockets. The company’s advertising for hoot loot and 40% off items were very alluring. Our party was hosted in the middle of May 2013. As of July 15, 2013 we have not received any of the hoot loot and a friend of ours had placed an order and had not received three of her items. After talking with our designer who promised us that this complete order and hoot loot would arrive at any time during the past two months, our frustration was growing as well as our suspicion about this person. Finally, I called the customer care line and was provided this number [redacted] and instructed to choose option 2. I would recommend trying this line if you are trying to speak with someone and do not enjoy hours of elevator music. After a total of fifty minutes a very nice woman named [redacted] (sorry for misspelling) assisted me in determining that two of my friends undelivered items were never ordered and the other item had been refunded to the rep’s credit card. As for the hoot loot, it was indeed ordered but kept by this designer and either used as party props or worn personally. I was never informed by my designer that this item was refunded or that she had never placed the other orders. At this point, I have come to the realization that this person was swindling us the whole time. These products plus money my mother and I had personally spent on hoot loot came to a total of over one hundred dollars with taxes and shipping. Did I also mention that we sold over SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS in products to our trusted friends, believing that this transaction would be handled ethically and honestly and that our work for the company would be paid in loot. I have read other peoples experiences about this company and saw several red flags that I wish I would have looked into before asking friends to purchase these products with their hard earned money from this non -trustworthy person. The flaw I have with the company is that the representative I had experience with was not honest and was willing to continue to lie for months in hopes that we would drop the issue. This issue will not be dropped and I am personally going to tell everyone who expresses an interest in hosting for this person to be aware of this scheme and to also check Revdex.com before starting the process. This representative’s name is [redacted] and her area includes northwest Alabama with main coverage being in Double Springs. If you are interested in ordering from origami owl or hosting make sure you personally know your representative and their CHARACTER. Also be prepared to not receive all of your items or at least not in a timely fashion. I have reported this complaint to Origami Owl and hope they will decide to no longer allow this person to represent their company.

Regards,

I did receive merchandise on Dec 13. this complaint ios resolved, however, company sent email stating do no use www.origami owl.com.

If this is not correct web mail address, it should be removed. They said this site is not monitored. Also, someone should answer their phone and complaints would not be placed.

Thanks for responding so prompltly.

The product is fun and cute but the customer service is TERRIBLE!! After ordering 2 necklaces for graduation gifts the were to be shipped in 3 to 5 days, the product was not even mailed out for 18 days!! When I finally did receive the order on of the pendants was damaged. I called customer service and waited on hold forever. I was told they would send a shipping label to return the damaged piece. 1o days later I still had no label. I called customer service again, waited on hold forever, and was told that they see that I was supposed to get a shipping label but one had not been sent. no explanation. I was then told that a shipping label would be sent out in 3 to 5 business days via email. 7 days including weekend, once they received the damaged locket they would send a new one which I should have 10 days later. I have never seen customer service this inept. I would never order from this company again. The graduation party has now passed and I still have no gift. In this day and age I would think that 45 days to get a product would be more than enough, not so at Origami Owl!!

I love Origami Owl, they are always there to help. Mothers day was a big headache from what I hear for a lot of people who bought/sold from origami. From what I hear though they sold more product for mothers day than the whole entire year of 2012. Thats a lot! There product is amazing. I have never had a problem yet with any of the items I have bought, and I have bought a lot!!!

Review: Ive been trying to resolve an issue with Origami Owl customer care via phone for quite some time now (beginning with party I hosted 4/27/13). the first point of contract was the independent designer who organized the party back in April. I have been trying to contact this company for resolution and constantly getting the run around as I talk with the Supervisors in customer care ([redacted] and [redacted]).These Supervisors dont know which end is up, they promise you a Rose Garden and dont even deliver a Thorn Bush. ALL EMPTY PROMISES WITH NO RESOLUTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunatly, this dissatisfaction with the customer Care is enough to swear off the "PROMISED PRODUCTS" forever as well as relay this horrible experience to others. I was promised several orders that I was told were not on back order for specific sentamental gifts (Sickly mother and a friend who's brother passed) and didnt recieve them in the timely manner to give the gifts. They sent a chain that was defected that the card said was inspected by........clearly that person is an [redacted] I was told to throw out the chain, glad I didnt because just yesterday I was told to send back. This is just part of the aggrevation that no one in the company communicates with each other. I finally just said I want a refund for my inconveinence and to compansate my aggreviations and AGAIN I WAS TOLD ANOTHER STORY.......................REALLY!Desired Settlement: That im refunded for the chain that is defected without me spending the shipping cost to send back when it was to have been inspected prior to them sending out and NO IT WAS NOT DAMAGED IN THE MAIL. I also want to be compensated for both a large and small dangle "Tree of Life" charms and the April birthstone girl charm.

Regards,

I purchased a locket for my wife on 04/23/15 and I was unable to create a login on the website. After I would create the account, it would not let me login with my username and password, so I created a whole new password and the same thing happened, it wouldn't accept the information. So, frustrated, I continued as a guest and made the purchase. I never received my order confirmation via email notifying me my order was received or providing me with a receipt of my purchase. I show that the money was taken out of my account, but that is all. I have tried to contact Origami Owl since that date to see what is going on and the phone just puts you on hold forever with no answer. I finally tried the email feature they have on the website yesterday and I still have not heard from them. I want an actual number that I can call and speak with someone not the ###-###-#### as that number just places you on hold forever.

Unfortunately I was not aware that everything had to be purchased separately (i.e. base and face of locket). I had placed my original order, and immediately realized my mistake. I tried calling and e-mailing several times to correct the order; however, no response or communication with anyone. I just received an e-mail that my order has been shipped. The items are well overpriced for needing to purchase everything individually. I'm disappointed with the lack of customer service and ability to fix an order. I will not be recommending Origami Owl to anyone.

I ordered the heart shaped locket, the glass cracked on the front and back before I even got to wear it. I received a new locket and yet again before I even got to wear it the glass cracked and this time pieces began falling out. Ordered two 30" ball chains which both turned black. Was told by the rep that "it is costume jewelry and that is why it is so inexpensive". the prices of their products are by no means "inexpensive". When I tried to return the items I was told I could either get the same items or if I chose a refund they would deduct my shipping, taxes and a 10% restocking fee.
