Parker and Sons Reviews (1209)

Parker and Sons sent Joe C[redacted] out to replace my hot water heater. He was courteous, knowledgeable and pleasant while on the job. I would recommend Joe for any of your plumbing needs.

Over the past 5-6 years we have had Parker & Sons replace our Hot Water Heater, our complete A/C system and some other incidental wee jobs. We are looking to do a bathroom remodel, in the very near future, and we will need to have the plumbers in. Guess Who?
Eric K. has been our A/C technician for sometime now, and now he is the only tech who will look at our A/C unit. Eric tells me just what is required and I do not have to guess if I am being sold a bill of goods. We are exceptionally pleased with Eric and Parker & Sons. Honesty pays!
It is a pleasure to know that when you call Parker & Sons, you will always get straight talk and exemplary service.

Dan came to my home to check my AC for summer. He was prompt, pleasant, answered any questions I had, and tidy. He went about his job in a professional manner. Would I want Dan to come to my home again? You Bet!

Manny E[redacted] was the AC technician that conducted a normal AC checkup on my two units. Nothing was wrong and I only needed a checkup service. Manny was on time, extremely professional, and wore the clean protective foot covers to make sure our floors stayed clean. Manny was extremely knowledgeable and articulated the status of our units in a way we understood. I will definitely recommend Parker and Sons to my friends. I will call to schedule my second home for a checkup by Manny in the coming days
Thank you for hiring great employees!
All the best,

I was promised that a technician would be out to examine my water leak in the supply line to the house sometime between 8 a.m. to 12 noon. He didn't show up until after 4 p.m. and did not apologize. He managed to temporarily fix my defective water line for an inflated price, which turned out to be over $430.00 for about an hour's work and a few dollar's worth of parts. Then he gave me this outrageously expensive estimate to replace it, with an attitude that he would be doing me a big favor to fit the job into his schedule. Glad I waited, because when the temporary fix gave way I called an independent operator who works for himself who gave me an estimate less than half the price and it included copper pipe as standard. I would recommend anyone to get estimates from small independent companies if they are considering Parker to avoid being ripped off or conned into paying way too much.

Not reliable. Was to be here between 8M to noon. Now three still not here.
Do they really care about their customers? Who cares if us customers have things to do.

Review: I purchased a home and knew the AC unit was only a few years old, and the owner purchased an extended warranty. Parker & Sons was the company the AC unit was purchased through, along with the extended warranty. The unit has a warranty to begin with, but this was monies paid extra to make sure if there were any problems it will be taken care of. The extended warranty was purchased through Parker & Sons, but they were not the company who warranted it. In July, the hottest part of the summer in Phoenix, my AC went out. I called the warranty company and they gave me Parker & Sons phone number to have them come out. I called Parker & Sons and they came out on 7/20 to inspect the unit. I was on the roof with the man and he showed me there was a leak and several other problems. I let him know we have the extended warranty and the warranty company said it covers most problems. I told him that we have not transferred it into our name since purchasing the home, however. He made a phone call to someone, I assumed it was the warranty company, and told me that under rules of the agreement we were to transfer the warranty within 30 days of purchase into our name. And also, we were to have yearly maintenance done. I told him that we had yearly maintenance done and that we purchased the home about a year ago. He told me these were the terms and also that we needed to wait 30 days from transferring the warranty over to our name before we can have work done. I was EXTREMELY disappointed as it was the hottest week of the year. He then wrote me up a bill to fix everything which was thousands of dollars. I asked him if we can put freon (whatever it is they put in the AC units to blow cold air I could be wrong on what it was) in until I can clear everything up. This way it will not be 130 degrees in my house. He agreed to put some in and it blew cold air. He then charged me $261.90 for 2 lbs. It was an easy decision based off what he had told me and I could not stand to be in a hot house any longer so I could have a little time to figure out what I was going to do. The cost he gave me to repair the unit was almost as much as it would cost to buy a new one.

The next day, 7/21, I called the warranty company to talk to them and figure out why they would not cover the problems. In my head, the warranty was purchased, I did what I was supposed to do and have yearly maintenance, but they are going to let a little technicality of not changing the name hold us back from getting the repairs taken care of??? It didnt make sense. When I called the warranty company they told me that there is no time frame I needed to get the name changed from the purchase of the home, and they suggested doing so right away. I got that changed with NO problems, in the meantime we got someone out from another company and got everything fixed on it at no charge. That freon that I paid for, should never have been charged to me. The warranty company covers all of it. I didnt pay a dime. They also told me they had not got any phone calls from any companies recently to get an authorization number for repair. Parker & Sons didnt even call them to see if I was covered on anything. They just wanted more money.....PLAIN AND SIMPLE!

The reason I am putting this complaint in, MAINLY, is because I keep seeing those commercials from Parker & Sons stating dont hire a "Melvin" and bla bla bla we are awesome and great and bla bla bla. They make me sick. THEY are actually the Melvins. They claim to be rated high by the [redacted] but they shouldnt be. If they continue to be rated high by the [redacted], then when I see other companies rated high by the [redacted] I will wonder if that company is just another Parker & Sons and nobody puts in the time for a complaint. Companies like this who have criminals intentionally trying to get money from people working for them should not be in business, let alone have the approval from the [redacted].Desired Settlement: You do not deserve a penny from me. Also, you need to stand by your products. You installed it, its not an old unit, stand by your work. Also, stop airing commercials telling people to not hire a Melvin, because that is contradictory. You ARE the Melvin. And for the [redacted], please do not let them use your stamp of approval anymore. I am not the first, or last they are going to dupe.

Response:

Upon receiving Complaint #[redacted], we conducted an internal investigation to determine all of the facts surrounding this issue. We determined that the technician on site provided the customer with information that was unrelated to their particular extended warranty requirements and protocol. The information given to Mr. [redacted] was factual information, just not for Mr. [redacted] extended warranty company. Unfortunately, this miss-quote and the events that occurred subsequently led to Mr. [redacted] dissatisfaction and concerns of being duped. I spoke with Mr. [redacted] regarding what had happened and apologized for the mishap. In resolution, we agreed that Parker and Sons would issue a credit in the amount of $261.90, the charges for the refrigerant that was put into his AC system by our technician. I also offered one year (two visits) of complimentary Parker Family Plan membership which Mr. [redacted] accepted. At the end of our phone conversation, Mr. [redacted] told me that while he was upset that the situation occurred, he was glad that I contacted him and that he was satisfied with the resolution. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Regards,

Excellent! Had both A/C and plumbing checked out the same day and both men were totally professional, thorough in their respective duties. I can highly recommend Parker & Sons to anyone in need of either A/C or plumbing needs.

Parker and Sons serviced my AC unit and did a wonderful job. They didn't try to force me to buy things I didn't need and actually saved me money. A very pleasant experience.

We have been using Parker and Sons since we moved here 12 years ago and have always been very satisfied. We have put in new air conditioning, some plumbing, carbon monoxide detectors, smoke detectors. We especially appreciate the free inspections on a regular basis.

Very satisfied with Parker and Sons. We have used their service for many years and no complaints.

We have been using Parker and Sons for 2 years and they continue to impress us. Their technicians are very professional, prompt and friendly. They dont try to push services or "sell" products. I highly recommend them and we are very happy with their business.

Had our two furnaces checked for the winter and [redacted] did find that that the capacitor on one of them

Was not working to the maximum , gave us all the information we needed to make a decision whether to replace it now, or wait until it goes in which case it could possibly damage the motor.

We decided to have it replaced at this time to make sure we were all good for the winter .

The furnaces are 10 years old and the other furnace had to have the capacitor replaced a few years ago. Hopefully we are good for a couple years.

Parker and sons are professional and knowledgable , we may pay more for their services ,

but last year one of our air conditioning units went down when it was 110 degrees out in the late afternoon , they were here within 1.5 hours to fix it. After that, I was sold !

Great orgsnization!! They perform to expectstions, sre professionsl and ALWSYS polite. They have gone the extra mile to solve some of the oroblems we gave had. An example of thus I s the warer doftener--had to be replaced and unfortunstely the desired parts were not available before I left town for a short period of time. They replaced the complete unit in revord time. Great people, great service and a great organization!

We just had our furnace and A/C system inspected by Bill from Parker and Sons. As usual they did what they needed to do quickly and quietly. They replaced our A/C and furnace earlier this year and we were very pleasantly surprised at how much lower our electric bill was. Parker and Sons and their employees are a pleasure to deal with.

The tech that was sent to our home is named Joe. He was not only only friendly but very professional. He is aware of the panel problem in the attic unit. A picture was taken by him to show his boss what the problem is and how to rectify this problem. Parker installed our new unit and has maintained it ever since

I was very pleased with the quick and thorough service that I received from Parker and Sons. The individual that came to the house was polite and quickly went to work, without leaving any mess.

I am so pleased with the Service and quick response from Parker & Sons I have their number on my cell phone. [redacted] was at my house on time and resolved the situation in a matter of minutes! He as very professional and polite.
