Parker and Sons Reviews (1209)

The tech, Jesse, replaced a defective hot water heater. He was very professional and personable. He worked quickly and neatly. And he took time to answer all my questions. My only concern was that he replaced the circulating pump with the dial facing the wall, which makes it difficult to program. When I called about that, they promised to send someone to fix it tomorrow.

AC Technician, Daniel M[redacted], was a consummate professional that troubleshot my issue quickly, obtained parts the next day and did a fantastic job with the repair. Above and beyond was his attention to the little details of the job.

I have always had excellent service from Parker and Sons, today Steven Sciannaa came to do the half yearly service on my air conditioner. He was on time, and very knowledgable about some questions I had regarding a new ceiling grill. Once again I experienced the good service that you get from Parker and Sons.

Matt came to my house and installed a scrubber. I have bad health so I was so excited to get the scrubber! He also did a full unit service for the hvac. Matt went above and beyond also checking other parts of the house. I love the service I got and recommend Matt and Parker and sons as a great company!!!!

Installers were great!

Jerry P[redacted] supervised a recent water heater installation for us. Other plumbing projects were also performed: pressure regulator install, shower faucet repair, new cut off valves, etc. Jerry exhibited a great deal of knowledge of the components and tasks involved. We were extremely pleased with the services he provided.

Brendon is very professional and friendly. He performed the a/c checkup and subsequent maintenance to the unit in a timely manner. He took care to cover his shoes when entering my house and was polite at all times. He's an excellent example of employees of Parker and Sons.

Eric was efficient and did the job in a timely manner.

I think the work is good but the company wants their repairmen to find something wrong with the air conditioner to generate more business. This does bother me as we customers want to know the truth. If a part is worn, and can yet be of use, we should be told. Repairs that are not necessary should not even be mentioned. I want Parkers & Sons to keep my [redacted] working for as long as it can and yet they keep wanting me to buy a new one. Prices for repairs can have different values depending on how much you question them.

The work of installing a water heater we purchased from them was shoddy. They left a very visible problem for us and then tried to tell us that is the way the work has to be done. They drilled holes in our garage and set it up so that the heater would drain to our front door.

I was very happy at the ease of obtaining help from Parker and Sons. I was, however, disappointed at the level of service provided. The plumber seemed more interested on providing me additional services than correctly the plumbing problem requested. Although a simple problem, he didn't seem to be able to correct the problem and found all kinds of excuses why he was having problems including criticizing the material he had to repair. When he left he was worried the pipe fixed would leak, which it did. I've been happy with this company in the past and won't change my use of them in the future. I will just request another plumber.

I recently asked Parker and Sons to come out and repair my A/C because I have used them in the past. The technician started telling me about all of the additional charges that I was going to be billed. He said the operator should have informed me when I made the appointment. He hadn't even looked at my A/C unit. So he was raising my bill before he even knew what the problem was. So unprofessional!

Review: The salesperson ([redacted]) for Parker & Sons Inc. misrepresented the product (air conditioner/heat pump) that was sold to me. I specifically requested either a Lennox, Carrier or Trane product.

[redacted] stated that the Day and Night system that he quoted was owned and manufactured by Carrier. Day and Night is actually marketed by a subsidiary of a subsidiary of a company that also owns Carrier. There is a multitude of other problems with the installation, the main one being that the installers routed the drip pan drain (for condensation and rain) out a roof scupper on the south side of the house. The constant dripping combined with a prevailing southwesterly wind will most certainly result in stucco and paint damage to the south side of the house. The drain should have been routed through the existing drain (which was not leaking or damaged) under the roof, through the wall top plate, down the wall between the sheet rock and stucco and out the bottom outside wall to grade. This is a basic construction procedure. I was informed by [redacted], HVAC Manager, that I would be required to sign a release for any damage the installers did to the drain pipe during the retro-fit. Mr. [redacted] had previously signed a quality assurance agreement that stated that the A/C drain would not be vented to the roof. The laundry list goes on and on, but basically all the complaints come down to the [redacted], Vice President and [redacted] "Comfort Consultant" promising one thing and delivering another. Their behavior may not be criminal, but it is unethical and their conduct is against all standards of their profession.Desired Settlement: I am requesting that Parker and Sons refund all money paid to them by me ([redacted]) or hire a HVAC contractor of my choice to remove and replace the Day and Night heat pump with a comparable (4 ton, 14.5 sear rated) Carrier heat pump and route the drain per my specifications. Parker and Sons have the right to retrieve the removed Day and Night system from my property once it is removed.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I have invited two HVAC contractors to survey the our residence and have received bids to replace the Day and Night system Parker & Sons Inc. installed earlier this month. It has been reported to me by both contractors that there was no apparent damage to the roof, paint or stucco. However, both contractors reported that it is impossible to access any damage to the original condensation drain pan line due to the fact that your installation people mounted the system on top of the pipe with only two inches of clearance between the end of the pipe and the bottom of the AC unit. Both contractors reported that there did not appear to be damage to the pipe above the roof and there was enough of the pipe above the roof to facilitate attachment to a new unit. The only unknown is whether the elbow below the roof has been damaged. Removing the AC only to check the pipe and then negotiating a fair settlement with you is not a viable option.

My wife and I will accept a refund check in the amount $6347.27 at this time if you will agree to pay for any damage that is discovered after the existing unit is removed and replaced. Honesty,I don't think there has been any damage done, but until the pipe is pressure tested I can't be sure. If you can agree to these terms, we will consider the matter closed.

Review: I have used Parker & Sons for several years spending greater than $10,000.00 for service. Two years ago they offered me a contract that states they will come to my home two times a year service my AC and Evap cooler. They automatically debit my account for $17.10 each month. In December they serviced both units and winterized my evap cooler taking away the belt and draining the water. I received a card on February 23,2015 that it was time for service. On March 5,2015 I contacted Parker & Sons and scheduled an appointment for my cooler to be re-serviced including replacing the belt they removed. At the same time I requested a change of address as my house is currently in escrow. the lady who was very pleasant changed my address and cancelled the monthly debit effective April 1,2015. The appointment was made for March 6,2015 between 10:00am and 2:00pm. At approximately 0930am on March 6,2015 I received a call from a girl named April telling me that there would be a charge of $269.00 if I wanted the cooler serviced. I told her that was ridiculous as I have a monthly service fee. She was very rude and said it was because I cancelled the contract before the service and I have not paid enough money for the service yet. When I asked her why they sent the card she had no answer. She told me the lady that booked the appointment was not competent and was fired. this girl was very pleasant and appeared competent and was fired in less than 18 hours. I asked her how she was going to resolve this and she said she wasn't. I told her Parker & Sons just lost a good customer and ended the call very mad and dissatisfied.Desired Settlement: I want my evap cooler returned to operational condition at no charge. I also want to make sure the monthly fee is stopped with no penalties of which were never disclosed.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Regards,

Great service. On time, polite, interested in solving my problem. Fast and efficient. Over all a very good experience.

I called Parker and Sons about a leaky shower fixture, expecting I'd have to wait a few days for service. However, they were able to send someone out that afternoon. The plumber, [redacted], arrived on time, diagnosed the problem right away, got the part from his truck and fixed it immediately. No more leaking! While he was here he also checked the level of the water softening and also looked over the hot water heater.

My first experience with parker and son was several years ago hearing adds on "Nearly Famous Barry Young" It was Sunday afternoon and the ac died. I called and the very nice lady said they could not come. I live in Tonopah so I'm not in "the area" VERY DISAPPOINTED. I tried to come up with alternatives but was not successful. Called back Monday am at 6am, again very nice lady said they would be here but could not give time estimate, which was fine. At 8am a technican called said he would be here in an hour. Everthing was fixed, fast forward. Couple other vists absolute perfect until the system officially died. Called one day next day new system installed perfect. Two maintance calls latter (no Charge) Signed up for yearly maintance. Will never use another company. VERY HAPPY WITH PARKER AND SONS

They did great, showed up on time [redacted] trouble shot the issue. Got the work done way faster than I thought it would be and left no mess. I will call Parker and sons next time I need a plumber. They did great!

On time...neat..... courteous...good and informative info...would definitely use again

My A/C unit stopped and when I called Parker and Sons

they sent a tech out in a couple of hours. He replaced a part and it now works great. My units are 18 years old and I know I will have to replace them soon.
