Parker and Sons Reviews (1209)

I was very disappointed in my most recent experience with Parker and Sons. Two young men showed up at my home shortly before noon and quoted me the price of $500--$800 to replace my modest little garbage disposal. I had explained that I only needed a very basic model, and that is the ridiculous price they quoted me. I got the impression they wanted me to reject their offer so they could leave and go to lunch--they seemed thrilled I turned them down. I am elderly, and I also get the feeling from some businesses like these that as soon as they take one look at me, they think it will be just like shooting fish in a barrel and proceed to fleece me for way more than is fair. I went to Lowe's where the employees helped me select a new disposal that fit my needs for around $85. They will install it for just a bit more than that. So, needless to say, I am not sure I will do business with Parker again. My son and daughter were speechless when I told them about my experience this time.

We have used Parker & Son's for several problems, air conditioner, leaky shower, and leaking pipes. They have always been prompt, efficient, and professional. However, the prices are incredibly steep. Some of the items I have called for (specifically a leaking shower) I have called only because I did not feel like tackling the problem myself. $629.00 just to replace a shower valve (about $80-100 for the parts), the labor charges are exorbitant.

Friday morning @ 6;00 am someone was WALKING across my roof.It was the people from Parker and Sons, they were repairing/replacing my NEIGHBORS UNIT... it FREAKED me oun & woke me up when I heard footsteps on my roof @ 6:00am THEN they REMOVED a 3TON airconditioner OVER MY ROOF ... and MOVE THE NEW UNIT OVER MY ... UNIT the mover was 6 inches from my fence & with a 10,000 pound air conditioner dangling over MY UNIT ... I was a bit Distressed ...WHY move it OVER MY UNIT when it was my neighbor and there was DIRECT acess NOT OVER MY UNIT! Please respond. [redacted] Jr [redacted]

Parker and Sons installed a 5 ton Lenox A/C with Air-handler last Sept. in my rental house and did a really good job on the install except they ran the copper line from the compressor up to air-handler in the attic on the outside of my house. When I complained about the appearance they installed this really even uglier sheet-metal wrap from the ground to the top of the roofline. My house backs to the major road and this thing looks so bad I have received letters from my HOA to fix it. Parker and Sons have been non-responsive to my requests to fix it. I have no choice after several attempts to resolve this issue have failed but to right this review.

Review: My house and AC units were new in 2008 when I moved in. They have been working fine, but everyone had been telling me I should have them serviced once a year. I called Parker & Sons. The technician came out a couple of weeks ago and after doing the service work, reported that my capaciters were out of line with manufacturers specifications and recommended that they be replaced. The repair bill as more than $400, and I bought the annual service agreement. As soon as the technician left, one of my AC units stopped working (and to be honest, I am not sure it ever work since he performed the repair). I had them come back out today and the same tech reported that the motor on the unit needed to be replaced. Over a $800 bill, but they agreed to take the price off a capaciter that was just replaced since one of these comes with the new motor. I do not beleive the timing of the motor going out is a coincidence. In addtion, when I spoke to the office today, I asked if the service techs are paird on commission. I was told that they are paid an hourly rate, but can make a comission on the amount of work done. Something does not smell right here.Desired Settlement: reinstall the original equipment that was working fine, refund my money, and fix the addtional damage caused by the inital (unnecessary) service work.

Hello,I personally met with Mr. L[redacted] last week to address all of his concerns. We worked with D&N, and obtained/installed an upgraded condenser (13 seer to 15 seer) at no charge to Mr. L[redacted]. This condenser was to improve utilities consumption, and decrease noise during operation. I tested the system in all modes, completed an air balance, and answered all questions during my visit (see attached). Mr. L[redacted] declared that he was satisfied when I followed up 1 week later.Best regards,Nathan D[redacted]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 11139319, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Review: I experienced a slow downstairs drain on a 7 year old home. I was told that a camera inspection would be done on the pipe to confirm issue and resolve. Plumber was on site and ran snake thru drain and flow was restored. When I asked about the results of the camera inspection, the plumber stated that the camera was just a courtesy and not necessary. The plumber could not identify why the slow drain, nor what he did to resolve. He suggested possible roots invading the pipe, resulting in possible several thousand dollars for repair. I insisted on the promised camera inspection to truly identify the drain problem. He reluctantly scheduled for a camera inspection the following day. Next day tech came out, stated he ran camera down drain, I never saw or was shown this activity nor the video results. Second plumber was only their to collect payment from previous day. Second technician gave possible issues and solutions from $300 to $7000 for complete drain removal and replacement and stated that the $7000 estimate could not resolve or fix the or any problem with the drain. When asked for written estimate, the technician stated that he can put nothing in writing as that would obligate Parker & Sons to stand behind the repair. Technician also refused to share and video taken of my drain. Technician took check for previous days work and left. Second technician was at my home 7 -10 minutes.

The customer was misinformed by our CCR department so as a courtesy we are refunding 100.00 and performing the camera service again to provide a quote for repair.

Parker and Sons are a great company to deal with. In the beginning when I dealt with them I needed a new air conditioner. I shopped around, they not only gave me a good deal but did a fantastic job! Professional, on time and friendly!

I was so pleased that when I needed some help with a plumbing job, I didn't hesitate to call them. There are the best!

Service call was timely, efficient and professional

I have severe breathing problems and when I came home from store my air had stopped working. This was at 6 pm. The fella who answered the phone realized I had a problem and had someone come out right away to get this air working for me. The fella was here til 9 pm and could not get it working,so they made arrangements to put a new one on for me. They came and got the new air up and working, and it was done quickly. Then this week, I did call again, as my garbage disposal stopped on me. I will say theirs was more then what I had expected to pay,but the fella was able to get the orginal one working for me,so did not purchase the new one. I am very happy with this company and will keep their number handy.....

on time, courteous, appeared to do a great job. Seems to be a good company to work with.

Tech arrived in the time frame, done a great check-up.

I am a long time customer of Parker and Sons. They have taken care of my AC needs for many years. Plus I have used them for plumbing issues also. I would strongly recommend them to anyone. But, I wanted to give special praise to whom I consider to be the best AC man that I have ever had. His name is Hamdo. He is outstanding in every way. He is a total professional. He is kind and always explains to us what he is doing. He is a man that knows his profession inside and out. A extreme pleasure to know as a person also. Parker and Sons is very lucky to have a gentleman of this caliber in there ranks. --Larry and Valerie Watkins

[redacted] came to my home to perform my semi annual maintenance per the maintenance agreement. He was professional, friendly and appeared quite knowledgeable.

We use Parker and Sons for al of our plumbing needs. We have had three appointments recently and all problems were solved to our satisfaction. We will continue to use Parker and Sons as we have now for several years.

These guys are the best. Two technicians installed our new bathroom faucets, RO under the kitchen sink and a new soft water unit in the garage. This soft water unit calculates our water usage and will show us when to add salt. The technicians were friendly, professional, clean and a joy to have in the house. The customer service ladies are awesome! Good job everyone.

Clint came when scheduled and finished the work we needed in a courteous, competent and timely fashion. We might have had a small leak and Parker and Sons send a technician out at no charge. By the way, there was no leak. We will use them again when needed.

So appreciative of the Parker and Sons team. They came on a weekend due to a water leak. They offered a couple solutions and then gave me an estimate for work we agreed too. then, they actually finished the job for $400 less than they quoted me.

This past weekend our water heater sprung a leak and we contacted Parker & Sons Sunday morning. The plumber that came out gave us a price to replace it which was attractive in our opinion. Several hours later the installation was complete. The plumber offered to contact a HVAC tech to check out and tune-up our air conditioning systems at no cost. The two individuals that did the work were totally professional in every way. We would highly recommend Parker & Sons to people with plumbing and/or HVAC problems.

I was a new customer relocating from the East Coast last year. This Company understands customer service. My installation was done in a very professional manner, price reasonable..and good followup.
