I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 9911131, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. 
 
However, the accurate correction was not made until I made several more follow-up calls...

to the company as they proceeded to merge not only the additional escrow payment but also my regular mortgage payment into an escrow account.  I hope they decide to sell my loan to another servicing company as this is just one of the many times I have had to correct the company in the short time they have handled my loan.

I am rejecting this response because:
I still do not have a check in my hand.  I recieved r a call and called back in less than 5 minutes only to get a machine. I left a message requesting another call back.  It's been 10 weeks and still no check.  Anything less than having the money sent with a tracking number is unacceptable since I have been told 6 different times that it has been mailed and have not reviewed it.  What good does telling me it was mailed 2 weeks ago (August 26th) do?

Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to respond to Ms. S[redacted]'s additional concerns.  
 
As previously advised, a representative from our office contacted Mr. S[redacted] on January 16, 2014 to assist in expediting her request.  Mr. S[redacted] advised he wanted to wait a couple of days to see if the check we mailed arrived. 
 
Mr. S[redacted] contacted our representative on January 17, 2014, to request we stop the check and issue a wire to expedite his refund.  The request was completed and we confirmed wire was delivered on January 17, 2014.  Please be advised that the wire included reimbursement for the wire fee he would be charged by his bank.  In addition, PennyMac.  If Mr. S[redacted] incurred additional fees due to this situation he can contact the representative he was contacted by and provide supporting documentation showing the fees he incurred.  PennyMac will review and refund any fees associated with this situation.  
 
While we understand Mr. S[redacted]'s frustration, this situation was caused by an internal systems issue.  PennyMac reviewed and corrected the issue to prevent future instances.  We are not at liberty of provided details of our systems to our borrowers.  Upon becoming aware of the situation, PennyMac promptly attempted to resolve this matter; regrettably, we encountered issues that the delay the resolution to our borrowers.  However, we believe that Mr. S[redacted] resolved and his refund expedited by our office.  We have also offered to reimburse any fees associated with this issue.

status of the funds returned by the Taxing Authority.  A credit was applied to the loan’s escrow
account on March 4, 2014 for the refund amount.

As such, the late charge assessed was waived and a request to correct the credit reporting has been submitted.  A detailed letter of explanation

I am rejecting this response because:
Firstly, how difficult is it for them to even get our name correct. It is [redacted], not [redacted]. Doesn't quite instil any confidence in their "striving to provide a superior customer service" does it?
We have had e-mails and phone calls giving their explanations, and promising a refund. As of today April 16th, 2015 no refund has been received.

My loan was sold to Penny Mac and they are the worst mortgage company! I would NEVER deal with this company, I say everyone stay clear away from this company. If you want your credit score to drop then stay with Penny Mac. They also have the WORST customer service!!!
