I have a Pier 1 gift card that the new business operators states is now rendered useless as of September 1st, 2020. Like many others, we believe the company should honor the gift cards. They are operating under the exact same name, even their website design hasn’t changed. So how can this company that simply change management have the power to tell us that our money is worthless? The gift card even states that it will NEVER expire.

$105 in gift cards that they are no longer allowing me to use. If they were paid for the gift card and still have stores open and online open for sales there is no reason that I should not be able to use the gift card that they have already received the funds for. If they are operating under the same name, we should be allowed to use the money that was given to the company that bought them out.
It’s a pandemic- we could not go out to shop. This is very unfair.

I have a $100 Pier 1 gift card that indicates on it that it has no expiration date. However, the Pier 1 website now indicates that as of September 1, 2020 the gift card has no value. The website states, "Under the new ownership, all gift cards & store credits issued prior to September 1, 2020 will not be honored on our site." New ownership should not allow the company to steal money from their customers. I would like the full value of my gift card.

I received several gift cards from my Pier 1 wedding registry.
Pier 1 denied the use of gift cards online and in-store immediately after declaring bankruptcy. There was no communication given to those with a registry. They should honor by either refunding or allowing purchases to be made through thier new online platform. It seems unjust, to be granted the ability to take money from others because their under new leadership. The company is still functioning as Pier 1 and should honor their commitments to thier customers.

I ordered a piece of furniture and due to Covid, I was not able to pick it up at the store.. I went to the store 3 different times over Mar, April and June 2020, to pick it up and the store was always closed.. I never got my piece of furniture, so in July I disputed the charges on my Pier 1 card, $350 charge with Comenity... I continued to pay my monthly payments every month, without having the piece of furniture, thinking covid will soon pass. As my account was being investigated, my balance on credit card went to $0. I thought my dispute was resolved at this time..it is now Sept 2020 my despute was not accepted...The balance was reversed without my knowledge and now I have late fees tacked on. I called my local Pier 1 and they said it is on the computer as being picked up.. So my furniture was stolen or taken home by an employee. Now I am paying $311 after fees were added on to my card. I don't have my furniture and I am real upset.. I called comenity and they basically said pay the card or it goes to collections.. I was a strong valued customer with Pier 1. Ironically all Pier 1 stores closed yesterday and now I am dealing with this today..

We have reached out to the customer and explained our process that we are having to follow, after filing for Chapter 11.

Like SO many others, I have a merchandise credit to use and Pier1 won't let me use it. I don't understand how this is legal because their website is still conducting business under the Pier1 brand name and they aren't selling things at a "close out" price.... rather they are selling at normal pricing as though they are not planning to shut down. I don't feel it is legal that the company is operational and they are not honoring the merchandise credit I have. If they refuse to let me use it for product, then they should send me a check for the dollar amount I'm owed. Given that they have apparent financial issues, It seems reasonable to me that I should have to exchange it for product! They need to get rid of their product anyway and they owe me the money towards product so... I'm confused why there is an issue with me using it!

I just found out that Pier 1 Gift Cards have no value even though the companies website is still accepting orders and many store locations are still open. Stores closed for a significant amount of time during Covid and no notice was given that gift cards would be invalidated before stores and website fully closed. This company is stealing customer money and owes everyone with giftcards the option to use them or get their money back.

I went in to use my gift card and was told they are no longer accepting even though they are still open. How are they not letting us use this gift card money towards a purchase. I am told this money now just goes to waste?!

$100 gift card that is no longer allowing me to use. If they were paid $100 for the gift card and still have stores open and online open for sales there is no reason that I should not be able to use the gift card that they have already received the funds for.

I have several gift cards to pier 1 that I have just learned are being considered as zero value post September 1st. I have several $100s of dollars in gift cards. There should be some sort of resolution to this. Whether it is refund or allow us to use the gift cards at the new online store.

Like many others on here, I had gift cards to use. The company is going bankrupt and apparently gave a very small window to use the cards without telling the customers. I find that this is unethical- if the money has already been spent, they should be honored- period.

I have a Pier 1 Imports gift card worth $50 and not able to use it. COVID-19 prevented me from going out to shop and I couldn't use my card online. Now Pier 1 says my card has no value. I just lost $50.00. This does not seem fair or right. Even if Pier 1 is going bankrupt, it does not make sense that gift card balances of customers go away.

We have a $50 gift card to Pier 1. Pier 1 closed down due to COVID-19 this spring but then very quickly after reopening
changed owners and now will no longer accept gift cards even though there are still items for sale. The gift card cannot be used online either. They need to allow customers the opportunity to use their gift cards! There was no notice provided.

I have a merchandise credit from Pier 1 Imports, I didn't go out because of this COVID and now the new management doesn't honor the merchandise credit issued before July 2020 and that those cards have no value. This is a theft and they simply stole my money.

I have done business with Pier One for several years, did love their merchandise. I recently purchased a few items in store used my Pier One CC, paid my bill ontime and received a $25 late fee. They refuse to waive it. I have proof it was in time. I’ve been hung up on Waited on hold forever! Seriously not OK. Never will I buy anything from the New so called Pier One cause I’m sure they are the same!

I have a merchandise credit from Pier 1 Imports, I went online to check if I can quickly order something so I don't loose the money on it only to realize that their management was changed few months ago and I didn't go out because of this COVID and now the new management doesn't honor the merchandise credit issued before July 2020 and that those cards have no value. This is a theft stealing my money.

No notice, but after stores being closed due to COVID and went to use a gift card I got for my b-day in
April, now they are saying it's useless. As long as they are open they need to validate all the money people spent on gift cards that are now worthless.

I have a gift card for Pier 1 and was told today, by an employee, that "everyone got ripped off" regarding giftcards. It's ridiculous that my gift card is not being accepted because it has ALREADY been paid for by the person that gifted it too me. I believe that as long as the store is open they should be accepting their own gift cards!
