The Duke Energy company is grossly negligent in not restoring power to thousands of customers in Florida who are suffering the effects of hurricane Irma in a timely fashionThey are taking over a week in residential areas like my own that could easily have already been restoredThe provider Florida Light and Power has already restored power to all of its customersDuke does not care about the thousands if not millions with no AC no working refrigerators, rotting food, no sleep for over a week! They are a monopoly that is against federal laws and they do not care at all about the victims of this tragedy or to do their job and restore power to those who need it!

On Nov 14, my father-in-law came home to no power & discovered the meter box had been pulledSince there was no kind of notice, he thought it had been stolen until a neighbor stated they saw the power company thereAfter calling we were told a "digital message" was received that the house was unsafe for service, & the technician that removed the meter stated the house was "falling in." The only thing indicative of falling in was a back porch that was in the process of being rebuiltMy father-in-law is an indigent farmer that we have to help support and leaving him in the dark was absurdThe power company refuses to restore service deeming the house unsafe which isn't the case & now my father-in-law is living in my homeThe least they could've done was sent him a notice

Due to Hurricane Irma we were left with no powerI understand it takes time However we are at day They continually stated our outage was never reported I have documentation of my reporting it severel times a dayThey continued to give dates it would be on then failed to meet that date with no warning etc

Requested new service installation on 03/and as of today the service have not been turned on
I requested new service with Duke Energy for my new residence location in *** FloridaDeposit payment was issued on 03/03/17, as per their request, and as of today no service have been completed There have been couple of situations, first they claimed that the Construction Permit was not submitted, which when I contacted the *** FL Office on this, I was informed that it was emailed to them Second they claimed that the pole installed by the Contractor was not in compliance with Duke Energy's requirements, when I contacted the contractor they informed that it complies with FL State requirements, not sure if is that Duke have different ones, is that legal? Duke wanted me to paid $1,to them to install a new pole, which make no sense to me and not pay for it, besides I did not had that money to pay them for something that the contractor did by adding an additional lift pole,

I happened to be checking my credit and came across Interstate Collections in regards to Duke EnergyI moved and was never contacted in regards to owing dollars to DukeI called interstate and they will not take it off my credit reportI was going to pay them at the time but once they said they wouldn't do that, I decided I would call them backNow they told me Duke has to get rid of it so I want it removed from my credit reportI will pay it when it is removed from my credit report or I have it removed

Completion of Tree Trimming Work

I am writing to submit a complaint regarding Duke Energy
My neighbor and I hired a tree trimming company to complete some work on another neighbor's tree encroaching our properties
The private tree trimming company advised they could not complete all of the quoted work because branches and limbs were hanging over primary and secondary electric linesIt was simply too dangerous
We called Duke about this situationAfter a couple calls, to weeks later a tree trimming crew arrivedThey shut off power to the street and proceeded to remove most of the limbs posing a safety hazardI assume Duke uses one company to trim trees and different company to remove the debrisWe were advised that the debris would be removed within hours

After signing up for budget billing and closing our account to transfer services, we reveived a LARGE bill with no resolution

Keep Having Power outages on daily basis

Duke energy spent millions of dollars trying to fool the voters of Florida by saying "yes to the sun."
Now they need to recoup the money they wasted in trying to fool us by raising our rates, and if that isn't bad enough they drag there feet when you do go solarI have had solar panels on my house for six weeks, but still waiting for Duke energy to finish the connection that takes an hour at the most??

No receipt of bill or notice of cancellation
On 10/at 9:PM, I received an email stating that my new bill was issued On there, I noticed that there was a past due balance I set myself a task to contact Duke because I didn't remember receiving a bill or any alerts Prior to being able to contact Duke, my wife and kids arrived home to find that our power was turned off I contacted Duke ASAP to rectify the situation, as well as express my concern on not receiving notification of when my bill was due and furthermore that I was past due and that my service was in jeopardy of being suspended When I called, I was slightly embarrassed as this is something that I have never experienced before The rep was understanding and helped me process a payment I was slightly taken back on Duke's stance on charging me a re-connect fee since I don't feel that I received adequate communication stating that I was past due I was told that an email and text was sent out I am more than wil

The service is unreliable and they seem to have no intention of making it right
The service constantly blocks out Recently dealing with customer service about a billing issue they didn't even come close to making me whole and providing a reasonable solution that didn't involve paying service fees that were less than 50% of my bill

Duke's billing practices are completely inaccurate
My wife and I recently moved from one apartment to anotherNot only would Duke would not allow us to transfer our account over, so we had to create a new account, which required a depositThen, after we called to advise them that we wanted our service to end on a particular date since we would be moving out of our old apartmentFast forward a month later, and Duke is billing us for the entire monthI call to get this corrected and get told that I never called and I didn't make the appointment to have the service cancelledI advise that I can provide my lease showing that we did not live there for the majority of the billing cycleDuke states that the lease can not be accepted and that we would be responsible for the payment, even though we did not live there
