Precision Door Service Reviews (298)

The tech was absolutely wonderful and very informative

Thank you so much for reaching out to me regarding this. I did speak with [redacted] on 2/10. I had offered to refund the labor charged and only charge her for the parts we installed. At that time, she said that was unacceptable...

and would be filing a complaint through the Revdex.com. She then called me back the next day and said she accepted my offer and considered the matter resolved. As far as I know, at this time, the matter is resolved.
Please let me know if you need anything further.
Thanks again,
Brian

Mr. [redacted],Thank you for taking the time to review our company on the Revdex.com website. As stated by our technician, your operators logic board is failing. We only did the service of new safety sensors and two remotes at your request after informing you that it will in no way fix your intermittent...

problem. We would be happy to apply the charges to a brand new operator so please call to schedule a service appointment.

Technician was great. He told us what needed to be done, gave us a few options, and completed the work in about 1 1/2 hours . He gave us some tips on how to maintain the garage door and made sure our questions were answered. Very courteous too. Very professional.

Great service excellent experience!!

They were nice and fast at repairing my garage door. They told me my four options to fix it and the cost of each one. I decide which one I wanted and never did I feel any pressure in picking one over the other.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Why would I buy 2 remotes that do not work ? Makes no sense. I want my money back.

Regards,[redacted]

I was very pleased with the installation of my new garage door by Precision Garage Door. The work was performed in a timely manner by their skilled service technician. I would not hesitate in recommending Precision to friends and neighbors.

The technician, [redacted], called ahead of time to let me know time of arrival. He was courteous, very efficient and took time answering my concerns about the broken garage door. My overall experience with Precision Door Service was very good; I was very satisfied with the work done.

Tim was very professional and actually showed up early which was great. He explained everything thoroughly.

This is not a response to resolve the matter.  It is an offer to "put together some special pricing for you".  [redacted] admits that it IS a warranty issue but goes onto again to "blame" our employee for shutting the door late at night because of security purposes.  He again points out that they would have "happily been there and assisted with closing the door and repairing any issues or defects of our product".  Whether or not it was previously making noise is irrelevant.  It malfunctioned on that night and we called the next business day and the response is "it is our employee's fault".  We had trouble with this company with misrepresenting our original order of garage doors that also took the threat of going to authorities to get it rectified (as well as extra monies to be paid by us).  They are again walking a very fine line by even suggesting that they will "put together some special pricing for us".  We just want our door to be put back on the track and working properly via warranty work so that we can again put this company behind us.

In my opinion I would not use Precision Door Service. $1000 to fix my door. All I needed was 1 torsion spring and was told I needed all sorts of new parts on a garage about 10 years old. I was sold a "package" that cost $1000. I found all the parts online on [redacted] for less than $250. Call around, use someone else but don't use Precision Door Service. Again, my opinion.

I am providing some positive feedback regarding Precision Door Service. They were exceptionally prompt in correcting errors on my $3,269.25 invoice for a one car garage door opener:

1 Service Call $55.00 (Waived)

1 ¾ hp Liftmaster 7’ Belt Drive $899.95 Discounted to $799.95

1 Remote N/C

1 Installation Labor, Operator: $195.00

1 Surge Protector: $49.95

1 Platinum Overall Package $1758.65 Discounted to: $1,199.00 (High Cycle Springs 234B, Pair 7’ High Strength Cables, Pair Large Width Drums, Pair Heavy Duty End Bearings, Center Bearing – Bracket

9’ Torsion Tube)

1 Pair Bottom Brackets: $99.95

1 Operator Bracket Reinforcement: N/C

1 Angle Iron, Back Hang 30 inches: $284.85

1 Installation Labor, Overall & Door Adjustments: $390.00

SUB TOTAL: $3,018.70; SALES TAX: $250.55; TOTAL BILL: $3,269.25 (which included their non-transferrable, “Limited Lifetime on all parts and 7 years on labor” warranty; “Limitation of Remedy: “Precision’s warranty is limited to repair, or if repair is not possible in the opinion of Precision, to replacement of any defective part installed by Precision or correction of workmanship by Precision at no charge for materials or labor. Exclusions: If anyone other than Precision works, alters, or changes . . . Precison’s responsibility is limited solely to repair or replacement at the election of Precision. Problems caused by abuse, misuse . . .”).

I approved the invoice (my husband is incapacitated by Alzheimer’s disease) and then did some research after the technician left. I called Liftmaster regarding the model 8355 that was installed and was told it is a ½ hp not a ¾ hp. In addition, I wondered if it was possible that an error was made in calculating the labor costs of $585, as well as the charge of $284.85 for a 30 inch angle iron. I spoke to someone at Precision who investigated my questions and said yes, indeed, errors were made. They installed a ½ hp Liftmaster, not a ¾ hp. Therefore, they reduced the price of the Liftmaster model 8355 from $799.95 to $699.95. In addition, an error was made on labor. They deleted all labor because they said I had purchased a “package deal”. Lastly, they deducted $200 from the cost of the angle iron. With the tax deduction, they refunded $958.46 the following day (the check was delivered to me by a representative of Precision). Therefore, the total charges are: $2,310.79 for my one car garage door opener (including the warranty). It is nice to know that although they reminded me several times that I had approved all charges on the invoice, management was open to correcting my bill. Well done Precision. It was a pleasure dealing with everyone at Precision.

Beware doing business with this company
Called for garage door opener problem; technician talked me into replacing rollers with new nylon ones
Must admit that my being a senior in [redacted] made me more gullible
Finally realize I was taken advantage of especially since the garage door opener problem was NEVER corrected
Will NOT do business with this company again
Customer beware

I used them to adjust the electric eye sensors. They came out the same day and did a good job - no more problems!

Had a great experience with Precision Door Service. I called, spoke to Sarah, told her I was basically locked in my garage and she sent Jay and Alex out to my condo.

Jay is a superb technician with a great deal of knowledge. Alex, who was working with him, is excellent also.

I highly recommend this company.

The technician was knowledgeable about their product line and gave me answers to other issues that were beginning. They always do preventative maintenance before they leave. I feel confident that when they leave that my problem has been solved and the entire system is in great shape. I highly recommend this professional business!

Precision was very responsive in coming out immediately to give me a bid on a new garage door, and then I easily set up an appointment for installation within the same week. The technician, [redacted], was professional and thorough and explained the process and answered questions I asked. The garage door is perfect--just what we wanted and the price was very reasonable in comparison to other bids we received from other companies. I liked that Precision's background/reputation was spotless in both Revdex.com and [redacted], and the partnership/discount with [redacted] was a added benefit. Thank you!

Technician arrived ahead of time. Appeared very efficient in his work-stated he's been doing repair for 15 years. Was able to answer my questions.

Installation was prompt and done professionally and courteously. I would certainly recommend Precision Door Service.
