Precision Door Service Reviews (298)

Mr. [redacted],In order to come to a resolution, I am sending our master installer out to your location with our field manager to inspect the damage. You will need to be present so please call to schedule the best time for you. Regards,[redacted]

My spring broke on my garage door late Friday afternoon. My door had supposedly been repaired less than 2 months prior. Based on reviews which I read online, I called Precision Door Service. This was my initial contact with this company. A technician was scheduled for noon the next day (Sat.). The technician, [redacted], gave me a pre-call and arrived at my home at about 12:30. He evaluated the problem and explained my options. Several major problems with the existing door required extensive replacement and repair. Several times,[redacted] called me and showed my what he was doing and why. I purchased the items that represent a Lifetime warranty. This was expensive but I am pleased with the way the door is operating. I do not anticipate breakage. I will call this company again and will recommend it to others.

We ordered a semi-custom garage door from Precision. They advised delivery would take up to three weeks. Prior to three weeks they called, said it was in and scheduled a time for installation. The installers, Christian and Todd, called on the way to advise they'd be here in 30 minutes, which they were. Everything right on time. They arrived in marked trucks and in clean uniforms. They removed the old door and installed the new one perfectly. They were professional in every way; answered questions and were considerate of any concerns we had. Before leaving they made sure the door and everything else was clean. Performance from beginning to end was above expectations!

Sebastian and Mike from Precision Garage Doors came out and repaired my garage they did an excellent job, charged me a fair amount and were extremely helpful, friendly and professional. Highly recommend !!!!!!

Since I paid Precision on [redacted], I have spoken with [redacted] and they will be crediting my [redacted] a portion of the charge. In summary, I responded to ad via [redacted] of AZ for door tuneup and install nylon rollers for quieter operation. The tech who came out said my springs were the wrong springs, not up to manufacture specs and that the springs on both doors could go any minute. Up to this point, at least 2 or 3 years both doors have operated fine but were loud. After the work both doors would not operate so Precision came out again, did some adjustments and left. Problems still persisted so another tech from Precision came out and said now my garage door motor was gone. Previous tech made an adjustment that overextended the motor so now I needed a new motor. My second garage door still had same problems as initially, opening "roughly" some sticking. The latest tech laughed at first tech statement that reason for that door sticking was because of staples and paint. In addition, the first tech put too much grease on the chain and a blob of grease fell off the chain on floor of the garage. We did not notice this until we had tracked grease from our shoes onto tile and carpet in our home. Precision agreed to pay up to $100 for carpet cleaning and I faxed them the invoice from third party for the cleaning. I called Precision to make sure they got the fax and they said they did and would be sending me a refund. This was in December and I never received a refund for carpet cleaning. I also noticed what seemed like a high charge on my original invoice for sales taxes. I discussed with [redacted] folks in Phoenix, sent them a copy of my invoice and they told me I was overcharged about $34 on sales taxes. I received a refund of less than that from Precision. Under the circumstances, I don't trust Precision analysis that my door springs could break any minute. They did agree to replace my motor the one door. End result was very poor quality of service, did not refund my carpet cleaning, and I don't feel I was told correctly that my springs could break any minute.

It is my official stance that we did not cause the damage. However, since we touched the door we must assume some liability even though they refused to recognize the damage as preexisting. Therefore I will offer to replace the two door sections at our cost of $275. We will match the color to the best of our ability but we will not provide paint services. Regards,[redacted]Precision Door Service###-###-####

[redacted],I hope all is well. My apologies if there was a disconnect, I did in fact offer you a full refund before you hung up on me. Shortly after speaking with you I discovered we had hired a new painter and even called you back to offer that we paint the door and refund $45 dollars for your...

inconvenience. If you have yet to paint the door I will happily schedule our new painter out to your home or refund the entire amount. Please let me know which direction you would like to take and I will expedite either one. Thank you.[redacted]

The spring broke on our main garage door Saturday night. Called Precision and received immediate answer by a live operator. Our technician, Tim showed up promptly to diagnose and suggest repair. In addition to the spring he pointed out several other problems that would lead to issues down the road. Tim overhauled and repaired the door in an hour. It works great and is virtually silent when operating. These guys are not the cheapest, but are very thorough and knowledgeable. Very pleased with the repair and long-term peace of mind knowing my door is good for another 10 years or more of trouble-free operation.

[redacted] - Chandler, AZ

I usually like to use businesses that are in my local community. Every number I called that had a local number had a machine on the line. When I finally called a number that I got a person on the other end of the line, it turned out to be a business out of the Phoenix area. They were very friendly, and were able to give me an appointment the next day. The Tech who showed up was friendly, knowledgeable, and had all the parts on his truck necessary to take care of my problem. He was finished in less than an hour, and had things working beautifully. I was very pleased with this entire experience.

JD, from Precision Door Service, was great. He called ahead to let me know he was running a few minutes late, which I really appreciated. He was professional, efficient and knowledgable. I thought the pricing was reasonable and I would call them again for future repairs or replacement.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I do not accept Precision Doors response, because it is not the truth.  They did not come out the first time to fix my door because it wouldn't open. It was opening and closing wonderfully before I had them service the door.  They came out to service it because it was too loud.  After they serviced the door with new nylon rollers, is when the garage door started falling down.  That is when I called them to come back out and fix what they had done.  [redacted] (technician) came back out, looked at the door again, and said I needed a new opener/motor, and that I had to pay full price, because it was a coincidence that it broke minutes after he serviced the door.  [redacted] told me to call [redacted] the manager, if I wanted to dispute or get a discount on motor/opener. I called [redacted], the receptionist told me he was not available, and [redacted] NEVER called me back to offer a discount, or to try and resolve this issue.  That is why I contacted the Revdex.com!  Precision Doors response is a flat out lie.
Last week, since my garage door was still broken, I called another garage door repair company.  They came out to fix my "broken motor/opener" that Precision Door said I needed. The technician took a look at it and confirmed that the garage opener IS NOT BROKEN at all!  He said that someone turned down the motor to a very low setting, so it didn't have enough pull to work properly.  All he had to do was turn it up a couple of notches, and the door is now working again.  This information drives to the point even more that Precision Door flat out lied to me and tried to scam me into buying a new opener when mine isn't even broken.
I would like for other consumers to beware of this company.  They are not trustworthy, and I will be telling everyone to stay VERY far away from them.

Regards,

Precision door has been very reputable and competent in taking care of my garage door issues.
However, I would advise potential customers to avoid buying their [redacted] products. [redacted] garage door openers will not function with car remote units without a repeater (Precision covered the cost of that). Have tried without success to get repeater to work on my [redacted].
Save yourself the aggravation, purchase a different opener, and see if Precision will install it for you

We appreciated the prompt service and were pleased with the technicians (Robin and the gentleman who accompanied him). They were very pleasant and knowledgeable. They left our premises in a clean and neat manner.

I was impressed with their professionalism and rapid response to my broken spring problem for my garage door. I will certainly call them again if the need arises.

Precision Door Service has been very responsive the two times I have had them to my house. They have done everything necessary to make sure I have been a satisfied customer.

Danial is Very experience and excellent Tech.

The technician was prompt, courteous, knowledgeable. This is the second time that I have used Precision Door, and I will use them again anytime I have a problem (or am seeking to avert one).

Danny C. WAS AS GOOD AS IT GETS AS AN INSTALLER. hE WAS A FEW MINUTES LATE BUT DID CALL ME, WAS PROFESSIONAOL, AND EXPLAINED THE OPTIONS AND COST. IT WAS A GREAT EXPERIENCE WITH HIM AND PRECISION. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM BOTH.

I had them come out to adjust the retention spring on the door. The crew led by Mike was clearly skilled at what they do because they were here and gone in like 15 minutes and I was able to get my cars out of the garage. So I do not question their technical skill or quality of Precision Door aftermarket parts.

However Mike apparently overcharged me by $85.00 as I would find out later. After a call to the local headquarters to check that the price charged was indeed correct I was initially told it was correct. However concerned by my frustration (I believe his name was Eric) at Precision called me back and said there was an $85.00 overcharge and said they would fix the discrepancy.

The same service from the company that installed the door was a total of $85.00+tax. Wish I had called them first and not right after Precision left, but I felt I had been overcharged and wanted to confirm my suspicion. The correct total cost to have the spring adjusted by Precision was $175.00 plus another $39.99 for roughly 12 sprays of lubricant which I had done myself earlier that day. So I payed $200.34 plus tax for what apparently another competitor charges $85.00 for.

They also quoted over $400 to install an opener that I would supply. The competitor that I called after they left quoted $130+tax for the same installation, I know it's accurate as I used them on a prior install. Precision said they would make the $85 over charge right though it is not yet reflected on my account. When I told Mike that I recalled paying closer to $150 for the previous install he suggested I go with the competition as well.

In the end, shame on me because I did have a chance to decline service like my gut told me I should. However that doesn't change that I feel I was fleeced for paying roughly 2.5x what the competition charges. In the future I think I will take Mikes advice and stick to the competition.

My technician Brandon was very friendly and knowledgeable. The repairs to the springs and hardware on my door and the installation of a new belt driven garage door opener were performed to my satisfaction. I appreciate the quick response to my service request as I was due to travel the next day and needed it done quickly. I feel the pricing was a bit higher than expected but given the time of day and quick response with excellent service, it was acceptable. Thank you!
