I can see the fee if I had waited until later to try to correct the mistake, but I IMMEDIATELY got back to them to make the change, and was charged the fee anyway.  This is outright robbery in the name of "it's just business"!
I can also see that I am getting no where, so please let Priceline know that I am letting all my friends see a copy of my letter(s) to them and their response to me.  I will also be posting them on facebook.  I may not get my money back, but I can guarantee that it will cost Priceline more in lost business in the long run, then my piddling little $26.00 cost me.

Actually, I didn't opt to cancel. The employee clearly stated to me that the reservation had already been cancelled.  I asked him to clarify that specifically and was not given the option to cancel.  When I attempted to reach someone at Priceline after this initial phone call, I was unable to reach anyone on the phone since I didn't have a valid reservation. When I reached out through the email form on your website asking for a phone call back, I received a reply that just told me to make another reservation.
Upon receiving the original booking confirmation at the [redacted], I then cancelled another arrangement (that cost me financially), and this was no longer available to book again. As a result, I am struggling to find reasonably priced accommodations in order to attend a wedding that night. Location is important to me since I will have to head back on occasion to feed and check up on my 4 month old daughter. For these reasons, my initial request through Revdex.com was to have a comparable room at a hotel in the vicinity ([redacted]) for the same rate that I had locked into initially.

I understand your response I have gotten the same response several times. The fact of the matter is I was told by the employee and the manager at the counted of economy car rental that the insurance was not valid.. They have the ability to say whatever they want after the incident. After the fact you can tell me is was valid that did not help me at 2am in a foreign country when the people you are doing business with tell me your insurance in not valid and I have to buy their insurance for $400.00 dollars. I called priceline immediately and told them about the situation and asked that the insurance be canceled immediately due to it not being accepted.. I was told it was not a problem. If you look up economy rent a car San Jose Costa rica there are hundreds of similar claims posted about this same issue.. I do not understand how or why you do business with people who are scaming customers out of money..

They asked me to provide a scanned copy of my credit card information including a government photo id. I don't travel with a scanner and I believe providing scanned images of my credentials is a bit odd and a security issue. Nonetheless, I was stranded without a hotel and had to pay the price difference.

I am rejecting this response because: In addition to my previous complaint, the form claims to have a Best Price Guarantee.  Priceline themselves were offering a more inexpensive rental, with a larger car, but refused to honor their guarantee.  Their claim was that though they WERE offering a better price for a bigger car they would not honor the guarantee because the guarantee is only for the same classification of car.  As you can see in the attached form, the offer is not qualified on the final agreement page.  As in the original complaint which pointed out that  the consumer is to bid on the rental but no direction is given whether to bid with or without taxes in the bid, this slight of hand with the guarantee further confirms how penny wise pound foolish the company can be.
