We have searched our database and are unable to locate Ms. ***'s agreement with Rent-A-Center, Inc. or our affilates. The agreement number provided by Ms. does not appear to be an agreement number associated with RAC. If Ms. can provided the rental agreement number located on the rental agreement in the top left corner, I would be able to better assist her with her concerns. Deceptive business practices.
I had purchased living room furniture 8/18/19 at RTG Ocala, and was extended a line of credit. I was never told that the credit was through a third party-Acceptance Now. Upon completing payment for the furniture, I was told that I owed ANOTHER $1,200 odd dollars. Apparently the contract that was never given to me was for "renting" the furniture and/or some promotional period with a different interest structure. I have paid for this furniture, and without authorization, they went into my checking account and removed the sum of $193, which caused several personal checks to bounce. One of which, was a rent check to my Landlord. they had NO authorization OR right to this money. When we attempted to speak to a store manager, we were supposed to get a call back after he reached out to Acceptance Now management to resolve this fiasco. I had spoken with Mark who declined to give his last name.

Desired Outcome

Acceptance Now, and RTG owes me $193. This furniture is fully paid for. They need to cease and desist these fraudulent business practices.

CONTRACT
Had a 90day agreement for dos 10/22/19 1st pmt was 194.02 on Dec 6, and it was suppose to be 153.11. Spoke with district manager James Kolbe Hardin and he stated that I can start payment in December but never contacted the store for a new contract. My payoff was suppose to be Feb, and then I was told that he never Change the agreement. So I tried to contact Mr.Kolbe Hardin, after numerous texts and phone calls and he never answered. He finally after a month answered his phone, and he was rude, and stated he never told me and that they change payment dates all the time. I tried to contact the Regional Manager got a front desk receptionist and she transferred me to customer serv some where. I sent a letter with all the text and email to suppose to be Corporate Office, but she said she didn't know that address and they were making some changes so my letter never got to where it was suppose to be Plano Tx. I spoke to cust serve and they told me I needed to speak to a Mr. Hollis Regional Manager, but they didn't know how to get in touch with him. Each person I spoke with took my information ask me over and over but know one knew how to get in touch, with him for two weeks, Now its been another Month no Mr. Hollis and I don't even think anyone gave him a message. This company is a Forrest no one knows nothing can't find a supervisor and or how to contact a Manager and the Corporate address is incorrect. The only person that act like they cared and was helping me the best she could was Jennifer at the Capital Blvd store. All the other company employees at least the one's I spoke with should have some more training and or find another position. I am sure the

Desired Outcome

I would like the contract to be updated as agreed some I can pay the 90 day balance off as of February for $404.02

I ordered a brand new Air Mac pro book. I picked it up at the Rent a center. Signed into my Apple Account noticed the battery gave an error message saying the battery is not charging. Took Air Pro Mac back to Rent a Center no one at the store knew how to uninstall my Apple ID I suggested they get someone from Apple to do a training class so the workers can assist us customers. I paid every payment which was only two before I returned it because it was unless to me not being able to use it with no battery power. Rent A Center called me today demanding I come in or give them my Apple ID and password over the phone saying they need it to remove My account from the computer. I let them know I am in California and I am not giving them my password to my account. The gentleman on the phone stated that because I won't give him my password, he said they can't use the computer anymore which it was not working for me either. He stated he will send it to collections for the price of the computer, which I turned into them because it never worked properly. The computer is $3000 plus.

My husband and I went in to pay our bill and to check on an ordered part. The manager got snotty very quickly and then went on to blame my husband for breaking it. My husband got defensive and quickly stood his ground. Tyler the manager of the store started to instigate a fight with my husband and continued to push trying to instigate a fight. Tyler was extremely rude, and very disrespective. There were 2 other employees in the store and no one else even stood up up for us or appologized. I contacted customer service and they took my statement, and forwarded it to what I thought was the district manager. I didn't realize this person was just another store manager, who is friends with Tyler, so he immediately took up for him, and I still haven't heard a word from the DM. I have tried to contact corporate and I still haven't recieved a call back. For a company that depends on customer service, I seem to be getting none, and no one wants to talk about the issues in this store. The manager is rude and seems to think he is better than the customers who pay his wages, I just want some one who will listen and take some kind of action to resolve this issue. I don't feel that this too much to ask of the company.

However I appreciated the call, there was no actons taken against the person I have an issue with. Therefore, I do not consider this matter taken care of. All that was done is to move my account from 20 minutes from my house to 1 hour away. All the employees are scared of the manager and took his side being affraid of his counter actions.

I received my furniture on Friday called because pieces were missing with the full size bedroom set and I didn't receive the correct pieces with the queen size bedroom set. They sent me back in forth after trying to cancel the whole order due to my sale consultant not explaining my order and giving me false information. On Monday the 3/23/2020 the manager calls back from acceptance now and state that their will be a charge off on my credit because I don't want the furniture anymore and he has to find a store to come get it

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) No charge off on my account and to come get the furniture

I made a lease to own purchase. I completed my last payment in 2/2020. I call Acceptance Now store in Value City on Main St to inquire about getting the information regarding completing my payments and owning my furniture. The Manager Rob then tells me he shows me owing $72.00 more dollars. In some type of additional fees. No explanation of the fees. I have never been 30 days late and fulfilled my payment agreement. They have even sent me invitations and extended me offers for a new agreement. After getting no explanation from the Store Mngr, I have reached out to Corporate via email twice, still no response. I do not owe Acceptance Now $72.00. My payment plan expired this month upon completing Feb's payment. That had been communicated to me, on multiple occasions prior to completion of this program. Now upon completion, they are trying to get more money from me, and I think its wrong. I have already paid more than double the cost if my purchase. Please help me resolve this matter.

There is a lack of honesty within the employees signing customers up without consent for unnecessary add ons in their contracts.I went to Bob's Discount Furniture at Bay Plaza in the Bronx, NY on March 10,2020. The employee who helped me at the AcceptanceNOW desk asked me if it was ok for her to use my electronic signature while she read the contract out loud to me and I told her it was fine. She explained the pricing as follows: a rental fee (payment towards the merchandise), taxes, and 12% interest rate for a grand total of $160 monthly. My husband didn't understand why there was an interest rate before the early buy out as we've leased before with progressive leasing and the interest didn't kick in until after the early buy out period, but the lady told us that their program was different than progressive leasing. I signed the contract that night and we went home. The next day I received several confirmation emails regarding my order, one receipt charged for the contract and a second for a membership, & an AcceptanceNOW Pet RX ID card. I found it extremely suspicious and confusing (I don't have a pet). I read the contract over looking for some clarification and found there is an Optional Liability Damage Waiver, charged at 10% of the rental payment & an Optional Benefits Plus, which provides insurance charged at $12.99 a month. In the contract there was no mention of the 12% interest that was initially explained to my husband and I, which I found extremely deceitful. Upon my findings I decided to call the store. I explained to the associate that I was involuntarily signed up for optional add ons in my contract leading to my discontent with my purchase therefore my reason for canceling. The associate claimed there were no optional add ons in the contract. I read to her my findings and she offered to remove the add ons but at this point I just wanted to take my business elsewhere.

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) The implementation of an honest policy and training for the employees should encourage a different attitude upon the employees. When speaking to the associate over the phone, she claimed the contracts provided by AcceptanceNOW had no optional add ons which is incorrect as it is stated in the contract that they are optional, which leads me to believe that all of the associates in the store use this dishonest sales approach often. Prevention of an escalation should be more important than quota.

The worst experience in furniture buying EVER "DO NOT" use this program. I purchased a table on September 28th, 2019 which I was told it was same as cash if I pay off within 90 days which I did well I thought I did but come to find out the price of the table tripled in price. I made a payment of 164.32 each month and a down payment of 49.00 which comes to 706.28. The table I purchased was 658.94 which leave me oweing nothing as I thought. I was making my payments online which the system is so antiquated it doesn"t let you see what payments you've made and have the time you can't log on to their system. It is hinged on taking advantage of people. I was never told that I was renting my furniture from them. I was under the impression I was just financing. I wasn't told call in January to see what I had left to pay and I could close it out an they can RE-PO my Dinette set. Well I was told I was late with my and my price for the table I bought had tripled in price. This Company is very shady and deceiving I was told that a district manager would get back to me in 48 to 72 hours and never did

I have a coupon for $645 in store credit and they refuse to honor it. They have ignored my orders. I didn't ask for the coupon they sent it to me.
On or about 03/06/2020 Rent-A-Center, sent a coupon for my in store credit, which is $645, so I filled out an application for a Samsung A70. Once finished the application I got a Thank You And Someone from my store would contact me...here. It 03/14/2020...NOTHING. No phone call, no more emails. I want what's mine, if they had no intentions in honoring it, they should never sent it to my email.

Desired Outcome

I just want my in store credit, I want retribution. They sent me the coupon, if they didn't plan on honoring it, they should have kept it to their self.

I purchased a defective Canon SL3 DLSR on Dec. 24, 2019. It's been 2 months I've been trying to exchange it and you all won't honor your contract.

To Whom it may concern,

I am aware that Acceptance Now purchases the product from BrandsMart and once they buy it, they own it. However, I came to the 5000 Motors Industrial Way, Atlanta, GA 30360 location store just a customer needing to by a camera for my business. Regardless if Acceptance Now purchase it, you all are under one umbrella. And it sounds like you all don't really care about disappointing customers. I need my issue resolved Yesterday!! I'm not having any help with Acceptance Now.

I am very disappointed at the fact that Acceptance Now won't honor their contractual agreement that *** signed. This is my last attempt to settle this before we escalate it to the Revdex.com, as I've already contacted my Attorney as well and have been informed of my rights to their contract and know that they will lose. So, I'm trying to avoid the stresses on their's and my accord. I was gifted a camera that turned out to be a defective product. The Flash stopped working on it after a couple of clicks. My lease isn't up until March 23, 2020 but I've been back and forth to the stores for about 2 months now about my issue. They are telling me that I can't exchange it however, according to my contract, you all are responsible for it up to the lease has expired. And every person is telling me that this isn't true, well, sounds like to me that none of you, even the Managers, don't know their policies and what you all contract reads. I use my camera for my Business needs and all I'm asking is for them to exchange it because the flash doesn't work and it's defective and they told me it was too late and that I had to send it off to Canon. Well, according to my Contract, it's not too late and they just don't want to deal with the issue. I've already shown my contract to my Attorney and he's ready to go forward on my say so. I either want you to exchange my camera out or give me back all of money. Also, I've paid more on this camera, than what they are stating is owed and so I need that also to be rectified. That is where I'm at with this issue. It's not fair to us as consumers to sell us defective products we work very hard for to purchase and find out it's not working and you all do not do your part in making sure your customers are satisfied, having us sign a contract that isn't being honored. I hadn't used the camera but 3 times. And it cost too much for me not to get my worth out of it. I hope you receive this message in good faith, with integrity and a heart to work with my serious issue. This problem is costing me jobs because I don't have a working camera. And I can't afford to pay for it if I don't have my tools. Therefore, I'll need to return it if you all won't exchange it and because you all won't reimburse me, I'll have to take it to another level, which I really don't want to do but you all will leave me no choice if you aren't willing to work with me. Please have a discussion with Acceptance Now because I have a loud mouth and I don't like being taking advantage of and money taking out of my pocket. The need to honor their contract. My days are coming up very soon for my expiration of my lease, which is March 23, 2020 and I will not pay for a camera that doesn't work. Again, please do your part in just working with me or them in exchanging out my Canon SL3 DSLR Camera. And adjusting my payments already made toward the camera. Because what is said I owe isn't correct at all with the 90 Day same as cash program I'm under.

Thank You,
God Bless,

I want my money back that I put into this defective product.

I applied for a washer/dryer set through Rent-A-Center Website on 02/19/2020, I was moving at the end of the Month to a new apartment and I needed a new set. I paid $15 for the first week. Rent-A-Center contacted me right away to schedule pickup, they informed me that I would need to pay an additional amount at pickup. I inquired why as I had paid the first week already, they said that it wasn't their fault that I didn't need it right away and I would need to cover that time frame anyway (even though I didn't have the product). I needed the items and didn't have time to look elsewhere, so I just let it go and agreed to what they were asking. Moving day came and I called to confirm the items would be delivered that evening. They verified yes I was on their list. No one ever showed up and no one called. I needed the items, so the next day I went to another store to purchase the washer/dryer set as Rent-A-Center was closed on Sundays. Weeks go by and they still don't contact me. Its now 03/10/2020, I still do not have the products purchased and Rent-A-Center is calling me multiple times a day asking for me to submit payment on my "PAST DUE ACCOUNT" (for items they still have never delivered). This is bordering on harassment and I want them to stop calling me. I am not giving them any more money for items I never received.

Bad costumer service harassing calls and treating to take TV back

I purchase a Samsung 43 in TV from rent a center in Bourbonnais, ill In may of last year had it five months volume went out.I went in to pay last payment and told them the tv had a problem. They told me to bring it in and they would get it fixed well I went back a few times and the tv still hasn't went in for repairs. They had TV from October 7th 2019 till January 14th. I was told at that time to use it for a few weeks to see how it was well it wasn't good sound still quits. went back in. the man I talk to was ready to give me another till the store manager came in she said no it had to go back to repair.I payed for insurance for these problems. this should have gave me a new set and dropped last payment.I was buying six month same as cash. They should stop the harassment and do whats good for the costumer. To many people calling and saying something different. It should have been replaced in the beginning.

Desired Outcome

I don't want anything else to do with rent a center. They had my TV longer than i did and there service is very poor. They need to drop the issue and for get there half of a payment deal. They called again today wanting payment.I told them i was going to pay it.and i would call customer service.

Benefits plus is such a difficult process when you need it that you fall behind on payments they can take items back! Why pay for this service then?
I have been paying for benefits plus every week with my items payments and one of the options with benefits plus is your covered in the event that your laid off. I was laid off and the process to file for using benefits plus takes so long that I am multiple payments behind, to the point where now I could lose my items I have been paying on! Why pay for this emergency benefit if in a emergency situation you cannot use it quick enough due to there paper work process? I am currently getting calls to pay day and night and people coming to my house I have told them multiple times I was laid off which is covered under there "involuntary layoff" benefit and I am still being harassed! I have done everything right on my end and made all my payments up until the point of being laid off and now they treat me like a criminal and want there stuff back! How is that fair and why should the customer have to forfeit what they put into the items because rent a center makes using the benefits plus so difficult it is almost impossible? This is very unfair and the issue needs to be addressed and corrected for customers that are paying for this service. Thank you

Desired Outcome

Is all I would like is for my pass due total to be zeroed out and for the involuntary layoff to start covering my payments until I'm back on my feet. Also for rent a center to look into how this process is handled and fix it so that this is no longer an issue for customers that are paying for this feature

Yes it might be through a third party but it is Rent a Center that pushed this product and billed me weekly for it. How can you charge a customer for something that they won't be able to use and then go and repo there products do to not being able to use this product? This sounds like a win win for the businesses and a lose for the customer. So what was my money used for and where did it go?? If you can't back a product or explain how it works then why take people's money and sell this? If I was to sell a box of nothing to someone and take there money when they open that box and see there's nothing inside they might just call the cops and say I stole there money.......How is what Rent a Center is doing any different and in my opinion Rent a center is just as responsible as the third party due to the fact that Rent a Center is the ones holding the contract and selling the "product" I have dealt with multiple cases of harassment and aggressive tactics to take away products that my hard earned money went towards and the answer is that this has nothing to do with Rent a Center? It was Rent a Center employees doing the harassing and it wasbRent a Center who sold me this so called coverage and it was Rent a Center who wouldn't work with me on figuring all this out and it was Rent a Center who in front of all my neighbors embarrassed me with there aggressiveness and it was Rent a Center who made me feel like a criminal and a low life who scams and steals from companies and doesn't pay there bills! So who's going to find out where my money went and who's going to go explain to my neighbors that I am a good guy and I do pay my bills and maybe just maybe this guy was going through a rough patch in his life?

AcceptanceNOW is a dishonest organization and notorious for exercising unfair and deceptive business practices towards consumers. The store manager of the Snellville, GA location illegally forged a lease agreement and signed the contract electronically using my name. I called the customer solutions center over 15 times, and was met my mostly rude and heartless customer service reps. I finally spoke with the district manager who was just as criminal as the store manager. Do not allow this company to have access to your personal information. Their business practices are deceptive and illegal. They will commit fraud if it meets their bottom line. I was forced to place fraud alerts on all of my credit files because this store manager used my personal information to formulate a fake contract for unordered merchandise. I advise all consumers to do a reputation check PRIOR to doing business with this company, as they cannot be trusted. Had I done my homework first I would have never allowed nor trusted them with my personal information. Their tactics are criminal. Spare yourself the trouble and protect your identity. The CFPB enforces laws to prevent businesses from using unfair, deceptive, and/or abusive tactics in consumer markets. I plan to notify them also of these illegal tactics that were used in my case.

Upon receiving a loan, I did not obtain a contract from the agency and now am being charged more than I was allowed. The manager will not contact me
Upon receiving a loan, I did not obtain a contract or any type of paperwork from the agency and now am being charged more than I was allowed. On the date of service October 14,2019- I was told I owed $1300 on my loan and was not explained there was a 90 day time frame to have it paid off before the charges would go up. I was explained that I would be able to pay $189.86 per month until the service was paid off. (I WAS NOT HANDED A CONTRACT OR PAPERWORK). Upon my second month of paying (1/19/20) I was informed that if I do not have it paid off within a couple of weeks my bill would go up tremendously. I explained what had happened to the store manager and the store manager made plenty of notes of the situation at hand, she also VERIFIED that I had not received a contract or any type of paperwork; she also verified that the billing cycle was set up incorrectly- that I was set up as a monthly payer and not a biweekly payer. I told her that due to me not signing their contract and paperwork or even being given one that I would like to be able to pay the remaining difference of what I already had paid in when I first got the loan and the furniture (in full) upon the next billing cycle, but had to wait for the district manager to accept. I requested to speak to the district manager and had to wait 33 days before I heard anything back in which she stated she would not speak to me and that she read the notes regarding my account and would not allow me to pay the remaining difference of the original balance to pay it off which was $508 because "they will lose money" not even taking into consideration they have scammed me and been very unethical and I am the one who is losing money here. I have since paid an additional payment of $189 which now gives me a total balance remaining of $379.72 to pay off the difference. I have never been late on a payment. I have tried contacting the regional manager over the Jackson, TN area; however, every time I call the corporate office after 10 minutes I get disconnected (EVERYTIME) I have been trying to call them for 2 weeks without any success. I need this account resolved. I have read several reviews regarding this business and they've mostly been negative. Please help for resolution of this account. Thank you

Due to the inaccuracy of the transaction on 10/14/19 I should only have to pay the remaining balance of $379.72 which will then have the items paid off in full of the $1300 that was explained to me on that date of service.

Appealing this denial from Acceptance Now

I finally received a call from the District Manager, Kelly *** just as the letter stated. She submitted an e-mail with two attachments of a contract that was electronically signed during the call and went over in detail what the contract had said (again this was never given or gone over with me on the date of service when the furniture was obtained). It was electronically signed with my initials on each line item; however, my actual signature was not listed on the contract. I continued to tell the DM that I had not signed any contract and I was only told "I'm sorry, I wasn't there" instead of actually trying to work with me like an actual good DM should, and disconnected the call. Again, not good customer service... I called and spoke with the store manager who once again verified there is absolutely no physical documentation in my file this includes any hard copy of a contract that the DM is stating I had received and signed upon my date of service or anything signed by me at all for that matter. I have attached the copy of the electronic contract that was submitted to me via e-mail. They do not have a hard copy of my signature (anyone can sign an electronic signature) therefore their denial should be overturned. Please review and resolve this matter.

Thank you for your time
