I purchased a couch from Rooms To Go Outlet using 90 days same as cash through Acceptance Now. They concealed the fact that they would charge me double to price of the couch if it was not paid off in the 90 days. The couch was delivered when I was at work. It did not fit in my living room and was broken in several places. I called Rooms to Go and they told me that they would not accept the couch back and that I was stuck with it. Now, after paying the majority of the payments, Acceptance Now is trying to charge me twice the price of the couch.

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) I am willing to pay the remaining balance for the same-as-cash offer. However, I am absolutely not going to pay close to $3000 for a broken couch.

Misleading sales practices and failure to disclose key financing terms and conditions;***Delivery of damaged products;***Excessive phone calls to customers and customer references as part of the collection process;***Disclosure of account information to references and other third parties during the collection process;***Intimidating behavior during the collection process, such as threatening criminal prosecution, yelling, using abusive language, etc.We were mislead and no one told us there was additional taxes they tacked on to product was told it was 1 price b4 90 days then paid for in full. Turns out that every washer they sent us was faulty after the first initial washer yet we had paid out over 1000.00 in cash to them they would not allow a refund and then when confronted the manager cursed out my wife Debra Kelton who is disabled senior citizen and called me a liar as well. The regional manager never fixed the issue but instead of disciplinary action to her manager at said store. Instead let them go on doing what they were doing 2 employees sen washer after rinse cycle finished and washer never went to spin cycle there for leaving my clothes to be ruined and soiled if I did not get to them in time yet the manager said we were making it up and refused to fix the issue. no one in Decatur will turn them in and they keep doing this to others while they rake in the money. The washer apparently had a recall and the manager said he was not returning anything he was selling them as is. They were new but faulty equipment as they had a recall and cause the manager did not want to lose sales he was not returning the line to have it repaired. The manager out front told my wife we were F#kn liars and they were pickinng up the washer and we will not be reimbursed what was paid out for 3 total faulty washers.

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) We would like a refund in full plus additional funding to replace the clothes and blankets towels and sheets ruined from it. we want to be fully compensated for the faulty equipment the pain it caused us in loss and pain from mental abuse from the manager yelling at my disabled wife who is already suffering mental disabilities as well as her physical disabilities and mine of going up and down stairs constantly to keep up our wash to our clothing. TO shut the store down permanently with past repo

Attached, please find Rent-A-Center's response to the complaint. Thank you.

Thank you for forwarding Mr. ***'scomplaint to Rent-A-Center's ("RAC") corporate office on March 13, 2020.RAC is somewhat confused by Mr. complaint because his account with us was closed, positively, nearly one (1) year ago. Furthermore, Mr. never submitted a delayed payment and therefore, never interacted with our coworkers with regard to"collection practices". OnDecember 5, 2018, Mr. entered into a rental purchase agreement with RAC to rent a new washer and dryer set. Approximately three (3) months later, Mr. reported an issue with the merchandise he was renting. Perthe terms of RAC's agreements, RAC provides service on merchandise while on rent. Additionally, under the terms of our "Worry-Free Guarantee" RAC will also provide the customer with a loaner set while their rented merchandise is being serviced. Mr. received another, brand new washer and dryer set, as a loaner during the serviceperiod. RAC contacted Mr. approximately a month later and advised that his rented merchandise was returned from our third-party service center with no functionality issues. Mr. Walldeclined to receive the merchandise back and subsequently, ended his agreement with RAC in July 2019 by returning the merchandise back to RAC.Furthermore, it appears that Mr. may have copied verbiagefrom the "Consumer Warning" provided by the Revdex.com on RAC's business page. We believe there to be no unanswered or unexplained concerns with Mr. and therefore, we respectfully request that the Revdex.comconsider this matter closed.Sincerely

On 6/7/19 I rented a bedroom set. Started noticing a weird bug ever so often. I didnt know what it was but it smeared blood when killed. I thought it was a tick. Over the next few months, my wife started noticing a rash all over her legs and back. Went to doctor and they tested her to it being an allergic reaction but to what they weren't sure. Towards the end of November we removed the mattress cover and washed it. Then I started getting the same rash all over me. So on a wedsin late December I flipped the mattress up to fix a slat. And noticed hundreds of these bugs.On the 21st of January we had a pest company come out and declare the bedframe, which was used, infested atleast 6 months. I went into the store and filed the claim. They wouldnt even come out and take their furniture out of my house. Their insurance company denied any fault and the district manager stated he would not help me because I reached out to an attorney for guidance. So to this day the furniture is still upstairs and we had to move downstairs and we cant use the upstairs of our house.

Yesterday 2/27/20 I paid was given a payoff of $1200. I paid $1144.11 and was told there was a balance of $73.31 I questioned it but paid $73 to be done with them, which overpaid the account $17.42. Today 2/28/20 Rent a Center debited my card, without authorization, an additional $265 + $119. That is a total of $402.11 overcharged. I contacted the manager of the Lemoore store and was told there was nothing he could do about refunding the $402.11 I was overcharged I then contacted Rent A Center corporate office and was told to contact the store manager, and he would refund my card. I again called the store manager and was again told he would do nothing to resolve this problem. Corporate is supposed to call me back within 48 hours to let me know what else can be done

Thank you for forwarding Ms. ***'s complaint to Rent-A-Center's ("RAC") corporate office on March 3, 2020, regarding her rental-purchase account.

It appears that Ms. complaint is concerning certain contractual obligations stated in RAC's rental purchase agreement. At this time, a District Manager has been in contact with Ms. to further discuss the terms of her contract and address her concerns.

Therefore, we request that the Revdex.com consider this matter closed.

We were sold a TV that went out within 15 months of us purchasing.
Me and My wife have used RAC multiple times in the past. We are considered great customers, always paid our bill on time. We purchased a 55" TCL Roku TV late 2018 and finished paying it off early 2019. The TV suddenly went out on us (no picture, but sound still present) in January 2020. We contacted RAC and they were kind enough to send a technician out to see if it was a simple fix. He told us it appeared something burnt out on the CPU board and that it shouldn't have happened because it was only a year old. We contacted corporate office and were told that we had to contact TCL. TCL gave us the run around for almost a month now and still no resolution. We were offered to call back RAC if TCL was no help to see if we could get cheap repair almost 40 miles away, but honestly, I'm just exhausted with the whole situation. I am completely aware that Rent'A'Center over charges for products and has a ridiculous interest rate, but that's not the complaint. I just can't imagine overcharging for faulty products and not offering repair or reimbursement to once loyal customers to be good business practices. From here on out we will set aside $40/wk until we save enough to buy products for their appropriate prices and will never recommend RAC to anyone ever again.

I feel it appropriate to point out that we purchased from the Hesperica, Ca location, but that option was not available when selecting locations on the Revdex.com site.

Desired Outcome

Immediate replacement, repair, or reimbursement of faulty product.

On February 14, 2019, Mr. Bullingtonpurchased the merchandise by exercising hisEarly Purchase option ("EPO"), and obtained ownership of the merchandise. At that point, RAC's service obligations under the rental agreement terminated. Thank you for forwarding Ms. A. ***'complaint to Rent-A-Center's ("RAC") corporate office on February 28, 2020, regarding heragreement with Acceptance Now ("ANOW"), a RAC affiliate that operatesa kiosk inside of Value City Furniture("VCF"). ANOW's rental-purchase agreements are terminable leaseagreements, which require customers to make an advanced rental payment to renew their agreement. When a customer fails to make a timely payment, the agreement expires and the customer will incur additional rental fees determined based on the daily rent price and how many days past due the customer ison their account. Additionally, Ms. has opened previous lease-purchase agreements with ANOW in the past and utilized the options available to her to purchase the merchandise. ANOW can only conclude that Ms. did in fact, know she entered into a lease purchase agreement based solely on her previous purchase history with our company. On February 28, 2020, ANOW's District Manager *** contacted Ms. to address her complaint. During their conversation, District Manager *** pointed out that she previously rented merchandise from ANOW. Ms. denied this fact and maintained she would never enter into a rental purchase agreement, despite her purchase history. Ms. then ended the call by stating she"wasn't paying anymore," and hung up the phone. Ms. checked and signed the Acknowledgment of Rental Agreement, affirming that she understood the essential terms and benefits of the transaction. A copy of the lease agreement, rental purchase acknowledgment, payment disclosure, and EPO schedule was provided to Ms. at the time of her agreement. Despite her claims of misrepresentation, ANOW maintains Ms. wasnot misled in any way and will be held to the terms of the agreement she signed, and which were explained to her at the time of her agreement.Given the above efforts provided by ANOW, we respectfully request the Revdex.com consider this matter closed. (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
At no time was I ever informed that I was renting furniture. My intention was to purchase the mattress. At no time in the past, nor on August 31, 2019 was I ever told that this was a rental. That information was withheld from me. The fact is, if I was informed by the salesperson, MS *** I would have surely questioned that. Also, the agreement I signed had no mention of a rental. Again, if it had, I would have questioned that. I wasn't in the market to rent furniture. The only information MS *** discussed with me was financial. She discussed payments. She requested an upfront payment of $93.00 which my husband paid with his credit card. In addition, MS *** set up monthly payment arrangements to be automatically taken out of my checking account which should have been paid off by December. I called to inquire about my final balance. I was told it was $600.00??? I told her it had to be a mistake. She said it was not, because I did not pay it off in December. I want to make this right by paying off the remaining balance, which is about $40.00 for the mattress. I will not allow myself to be robbed out of an additional $600.00 under their deceitful practices.

I felt one payment behind and called the office of rent a center to ask to wait for me one week and they told me that it was ok.
After that week, I called again, because I was expecting a money that did not came, so I could pay the rest of my debt. I ask them to please wait until the following week that I would be able to make my regular payment.

In November 2019 I was approved for an Ashley Furniture Store sofa and love seat in New Orleans, LA. Approved through Acceptance Now Credit Services inside Ashley Furniture Store. Every month my furniture bill payment changes and is NOT the SAME as the original contract agreement. My Balance Increases Each Month I make a payment. Ashley and Atondria are the women who accept my payments and issues me 3 different receipts - indicating Rent, Waiver, Suspense, Club, Tax, Tendered and Change ALL of which they can NOT explain with any clarity. Last month when I asked Ashley what is my Principal she did NOT know what that meant until I defined it for her. I also told her that they needed new computer software, because I have never seen or received 3 different conflicting, incorrect receipts like these. Feb. 15 when I went in to pay my bill, Ashley said that I owed $185.78 instead of $226, because I overpaid $26.15 called a Suspense ('). I gave her $200 cash and I received $1.32.change (from Atondria) instead of $14.22 change. I was not aware of the change amount until I got home and read my 3 receipts, because I did not want to get upset again at her office like during my last 2 payment visits. So when I called Ashley about Atondria not giving me $14.22 change, she said I owed $198 instead of $185.78. BUT $198 was NOT printed anywhere on the 3 receipts she gave me OR!! adding up to $198. These women are thieves and should be arrested. Stealing from us consumers.

Contract dispute
I bought beds from Overstock Mattress and it was financed by Acceptance Now. They set up contract with direct deposit from my bank to theirs.. The number of payments they setup ended and they claim I owe 3 more. They refuse to send me a copy of a signed contract by me stating what they say is true. They are threatening collections or repossession of beds that I bought not leased.

it is important to note that rent a center can not even follow there own clasue in the contract let alone manage a store as they continue to make fake sales to advoid staying late nights. Assistant store manager Ashley torres reviewed my account and said that as a employee that I was automatically covered by the company in regard to a sick leave or injury leave. Store manager Janet *** also reviewed and said the same thing. It took three weeks to hear anything back from rent a center after contacting them to try to get any response it was excuse after excuse. I am asking that this case be reviewed and continue to reflect the dishonesty of this company and allow the people to see what a scam rent a center truly is.

company added waiver to my contract without me wanting it and is affecting my payout amount.

Company has placed a debt on my credit for 3576.00 for merchandise I never received.
I am disputing the following account appearing on my file. I dispute this account and I am requesting that this account be removed from my files as they are inaccurately reporting, as I do not owe this money. On March 1,2017, I purchased a washer and dryer set from HHGREG in Kissimmee, Florida. I was advised to go ahead and take the washer and they will schedule delivery of the dryer once it arrives. Over a month passed and I contacted HHGREG and spoke with and employee who stated I don't think you will get your washer, as we are going out of business. The very next day I received a call from HHGREG stating just that we will get a dryer, but will not be getting a dryer to match the washer we purchased. At the time we went to HHGREG to purchase this matching washer and dryer. The contract that we signed stated that we are to receive a matching pair of washer and dryer. I requested that I be contacted to have the washer returned because as that is not what we ordered; we had signed a contract for a complete matching pair. No one ever called me to give me status until I called. I was told we would receive a call from Acceptance Now, who did the financing. The very next week I was contacted by Rooms to Go. I asked for return of the washer and full refund of my $170.00 that I paid upon purchase. I spoke with several managers and they kept saying someone would call me, I was even advised by the manager that I would have to make 3 payments before they can return any merchandise. I explained the contract that was signed was for washer and dryer pair. And I never received the dryer. So, I am being charged for something I do not have.
Every time we called; we were advised the manager would call us. No one continued to call so we called and asked for a district manager. We received a call from the district manager and he agreed he would provide us a refund and send someone to pick up the washer. Every week we received a call from an Angel and several different people saying they are waiting on the refund to pick up the washer. We waited a few months and kept hearing the same thing. We consistently contacted the district manager and he refused to take my call. I finally received a call saying they will bring my check and come pick up the washer. Each weak we were advised someone would call us and I provided a day for someone to come by. Each week we no one showed up on the scheduled day to come pick up the washer. The last we heard is that our account has gone into collections.

I contacted the store and was told my pieces to my bed would be in by the end of the week and I would receive a call saying I could come get them. I never received that call. I visited the store and spoke with associates who told me that it didn't appear my pieces had been ordered. I asked for my money back and was repeatedly told by Kelly the manger iin a very rude manner 'I am not taking this back'. A gentleman told me that if the pieces were there, he wouldn't know where to find them but his warehouse workers, who would be back the next day would. He told me he would call me the next morning when they were in to see if the pieces were there. I never received a call. I called and it turned out no pieces were ordered. Over the phone, I was told that the pieces were being ordered and would be delivered. After providing my delivery address I was told they were not able to be delivered because I lived too far. I agreed to come pick them up myself. At the end of the week, I went to the store and picked up what I thought were the pieces to my bed. A few days later I was home trying to rebuild my bed but it turned out the pieces I was given went to a totally different bed set. I called the store to notify them that I had someone else's pieces and was told 'We thought you had those'. They thought I had the wrong pieces but never reached out to me to check. It was then arranged that a man from a store closer to me would come and get the wrong pieces and bring my new pieces and put it together for me. A day later I was notified that he would only be coming to pick up the wrong pieces because the pieces to my bed weren't shipped in yet and he would be returning to my house Thursday or Friday with my pieces. He came Monday and got the wrong pieces. Thursday came I heard from no one. Friday came I heard from no one so I reached out to the man who was supposed to be bringing my new pieces and he told me that the manager of the Monroeville store was supposed to reach out to me and tell me that he would not be coming because the pieces to my bed were not in stock. I visited the store again. I told the entire story to an assistant manager and he told me he would call me the next day and try to find a resolution. He never called. I called the store again and was told that the manger would return my call within an hour because she was with a customer. I told them that they tell me this every time and I never receive a call. I still did not receive a call back. I called again a week later and was told the manager was away at dinner and she would call back when she returned. I still have not received a call and that was last week. I have never received a call about my issue at all. If I do not reach out to them or visit the store I believe nothing is being done about my issue. Now I am stuck with a brand new $2000 bedroom set in which the bed is broken and I have not been able to sleep in my bed in months.

At the time of purchasing the furniture, the agreement never been disclose to me, it was agreed and signed by the employee behind my back.
I went to this store to purchase the furniture on 06/29/19, the cost was $1,499.92 plus tax. The employee who work for acceptance now by the name Semica explains that 120 days same as cash I was like ok. I payed $400 down payment at the time and then every month $188 and I told her I'll pay the difference before the 120 days, she agreed and she side I can start the payment August and finish by November I was like great thanks for looking out for me, she give me single paper to read and signed which am going to attach it blow that was it. The rest of the agreement which is agreement number grhXXXXX I never get to see it or read it. She side she will do all the process for me and am good to go home. When the furniture delivered to me I decided to return some stuffs and they came to pick up on July 24, and they need to rewrite the contract all over again $260 needs be taken off. I went to store to sign the new contract and she side she hasn't gotten the paper work from the office yet and she also side I don't need to come she will take of it. I was just continue making my payment every month I missed October payment because my mom passed away I had travel back home when I got back I made my payment and ask her how much money left I want to paid off and she start calling this crazy amount that's when the conflict started I continued pay my monthly amount but now I had to stop because the merchandise prices has been paid. I sincerely ask Revdex.com to look into this problem I have with Acceptance Now, as far as I know I have no contract with them, they can't signed the agreement themselves and ask me to be responsible this not even legal

Desired Outcome

The resolution am looking for is the business needs realized they have no contract with me. The employee tried to manipulate the situation by hiding the agreement so am not responsible for the extra fee and lease on the merchandise.

I rented a bedroom set from this company a month or so ago. The furniture while in my possession no damage and brand new. During the month of Nov my bedroom set was in a storage unit that I had to get due to losing a home, while moving my dresser the legs came off (that damage was done by me) I informed the company of the damage and told them that I would be to pick furniture up once I had a stable home and I would pay for the damages that occurred while I moved it. Yesterday 01/28/20 I made a payment of 88.88$ to be able to get my furniture back, upon delivery today 01/29/20 I noticed that more damages were done not only to my dresser but also to my headboard that I did not do, I called the store to explain to the manager that I was unhappy with how my things have returned and now have all these new damages that I did not do. I was told " there is nothing we can do about that things happen". Delivery time was between 2pm-4pm drivers didn't arrive until 5:30pm. First trip they forgot my mattress and box spring and had to leave then return to my home. The second trip they then forgot my slacks that hold my mattress and box spring up, I then drove to the store myself to retrieve my slacks that came with my bedroom set which were not the correct ones, and were missing pieces. I then again was told " there is nothing they can do." Customer service was poor and I don't like how my furniture has been damaged and I am being told that there is nothing that can be done.

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) I would like something to be done as far as receiving the proper slacks, and a billing adjustment as well as attitudes with some employees ( better customer service ).

We bought a couch, and now they are telling us we signed a contract for $7000, when we were only approved for $3000.
My husband and I used the Acceptance Now program through Rooms to Go. We were approved for $3000, and we got a couch for the $3000. We put $500 cash down and have made 8 payments of $195, and we are being told now that if we want to buy it out it will cost $2800. I don't understand how they can come to that math. The employees at acceptance now are telling us that we signed a contract for over $7000 which neither of us saw or were informed of. The employee who sold us the couch no longer works there, and I was told by "Scott" it wasn't their fault. He also was extremely rude stating that "that's how business works". We will gladly pay the $1000 ( the math I came to adding up down payment and bi monthly payments), but I do not understand how they can get away with not showing people contracts, and us be bound to it now.

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) Please have Acceptance Now adjust our account balance from $2800 to $1000 (approx) and we will pay it off in full.
