complaint ID [redacted].  They elected to refund two months of membership fees.  This refund has been reflected in my bank account as of 7 Oct 2015.  I find this resolution acceptable in my particular case and consider the issue closed.  I recommend to the business that they should review their cancellation policies and employee training.  An online self-serve cancellation method would provide an auditable record and receipt of cancellation, and would remove the possibility of human error on the part of local employees.

I had a phone call from 24hour representative but I was not offered any resolution to my complaint against their increase on my membership by 100% without any valid reasons and breach of my contract.They told me that they will contact me again but they never did. They are very busy since a lot of people are like me complaining to them and they have no time to call us and resolve our complaint. As you can see from their response letter, they didn't even bother to explain what was the resolution to my complaint. Their response is s vague and means nothing to me.

On July 8, 2015 in my original letter I stated as the main concern of my problem with 24 Hour Fitness is that in order to gain access to the facilities I would have to upgrade my membership and pay an additional fee of $15 per month on top of the $12.41 I am currently paying.  I received a phone call from a 24 hour fitness representative who stated that I would have to pay an additional $15 per month.   The problem is I already know this.  This is the main reason I submitted the complaint.   From my research I've found that around the year 2002 24 Hour Fitness has sold lifetime memberships for their "ALL CLUB SPORT PLUS" and afterwards developed a higher tier membership program called "ALL CLUB SUPER SPORT" and then started building Super Sport facilities and remodeling the Sport Plus facilities turning them into Super Sport facilities causing current sport plus lifetime members to either pay a higher rate or totally loose their investment.  The phone call I received from the representative did not help the situation at all, but merely repeated what I have already said.  I have also discovered that there was a previous lawsuit that was won against 24 Hour Fitness  in the state of [redacted] regarding this deceptive business practice and that they supposedly mailed post cards to all SPORT PLUS members offering an automatic upgrade, but I never received this and don't believe this was ever done.  Attached are pdfs of the original complaint and the final order of the court against 24 Hour Fitness for you review.

complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.A 24 Hour Fitness Rep called to tell me they understood why I would be upset, given I was sold a membership w/ specific terms, only to have it reneged after several years.  She stated their corporate office has made their decision on all rate increases, and nothing could be done to change it.  24 Hour Fitness pulled the textbook bait-and-switch on me, and it appears through what I've read online, there are thousands of other members who fell victim to their unfair business practices as well.Regards,[redacted]
