An unwanted charge for their toolkit product during 4 week trial period
I signed up for their 4 week trial period on their Leadership and Management courses. I was perusing through the site and wanted to click on the change class date and time other than the purchase toolkit. The purchase toolkit and e-certificate is a one-click purchase that is placed on their main page under the Class Schedule box. I accidently clicked on the toolkit and immediately contacted customer service explaining that this was an accident and I did not want to purchase the toolkit especially during my trial period. If I decide to move forward with the course program I will then proceed to purchase the kit. I requested for them to cancel or refund my credit card back the correct amount. Let's be clear; I've yet to click on the toolkit and activate and I relayed this in my email message to customer service. I signed up for this trial period on Friday, April 4th and I've now cancelled the membership after taking the first class because this does not fit my needs. As I stated in my previous correspondence with customer service, "what use would it be for me to purchase a toolkit during a trial period if I am not full aware if I want to move forward with the program?" Why request for purchase of these products during a trial period? This should be given only if the consumer decides to resume with the course program.

I went back into my membership just to see if the cancellation went through and it is still showing "in-trial". I then again requested to cancel the membership, only to be told to call and confirm. This should also be automatic as well; you can automatically process my card, you should automatically cancel the trial membership.

Also, I do not recall in their disclaimer information that "other"products (i.e. toolkit and e-certificate) was not nonrefundable. The only thing they stated prior to adding in the payment information that the membership fee is not non-refundable and they will notify you before your trial period ends, after the trial period and you do not cancel they will charge your credit card.

Desired Outcome

I want a refund for the accidental purchase of the toolkit and to completely cancel this membership. I've went in twice today April 5th and noticed that it is still showing "in-trial".

I enrolled in their free 4 week trial, they refuse to cancel my membership and charged me $34.99 for a diploma, I did not order.
I enrolled in their free trial program. I attended my first class March 31st. I quickly realized the content was not what I was looking for. I immediately attempted to cancel. I followed the directions on the website, which directed me to call a number. It would ring several times and then hang up. The next day I called and the recorded message advised me to email ***@shawacadrmy.com I did this, I received several emails indicating they could not find my email address. I sent them a screenshot of an email from them, with my email address as well as my name and phone number. This has not been resolved, additionally I apparently have purchased a diploma from them, they charged my credit card another charge, for what I have no idea. The consistently send me emails that I have missed classes, which I never signed up for and aren't even on my membership profile. I received an email I missed the one and only class I took, an hour after I took the class. I have been in contact with my bank and VISA. VISA would prefer the refund route to debiting their merchant account and wish to see every avenue exhausted. I have been informed, if this issue continues to happen with this particular company, a review of their merchant terms will be done. I urge others with the same problems to contact VISA or Mastercard. I gave Shaw until Friday at end of day, 3 days of back and forth emails, to close my free trial and refund my money. I am beyond frustrated.

Desired Outcome

Refund the money for a bogus diploma and cancel my free trial with a guarantee I will not be billed additionally.

request for refund due to the site's one-click purchase buttons. there are no customer services representatives to be contacted.
On 21 of March, I signed up for a free trial at Shaw Academy. To get this trial, I had to enter my credit card information. I logged in to check out the website, but accedintaly hit a button that said one-click purchase. I realized that I accedintaly purchased a toolkit. I have sent over 10 emails to the email provided on the website for customer service to cancel my trial and get a refund at ***@shawacademy.org. I got a ticket number #XXXXXXX and only recieved generated responces after that. I called their number and the answering machine goes in loops and eventually tells you to contact them by email for cancellation. I was also charged six times for validation charges of 0.50 cents each. On March 21, I was charged 3 validation charges. And on March 22, I was charged for the toolkit and 3 other validation charges.

Desired Outcome

I want a confirmation of cancellation , a refund for my accidental purchase due to the one-click purchase button, and a refund for the six validation charges. The email that I used to register is: ***@gmail.com

I have contacted Shaw academy by the email provided, they said I would be refunded in 5 - 7 days. it has been 10 days and didnt receive anything.

Dear Student,
Our support team has informed that your refund has been processed as per your request. It will be credited back to your account within 5-7 business days.
Thank you

I have been trying to get a refund for 2 months with absolutely no real support options. I keep sending emails and getting computer generated emails b
I was charged 49.99 for classes or whatever that I didn't attend or want. I reached out to Shaw immediately. I have not received any "human" or meaningful response just computer generated emails telling me they don't recognize my email address. Yet they have sent several computer generated emails telling me that I missed class to the same email I used to file my complaint. I have sent multiple emails with screenshots showing the charge on my PayPal account along with screenshots of the emails I was sent regarding "missed" classes to verify that the email I'm using is the same email they have. I have NO ability to log in to Shaw acadamy. There is also not contact info so I can talk to a human being just computer generated emails that offer me no resolution. Then I get an email from them asking me to take give feedback regarding their support. WHAT SUPPORT?!? I'm still trying to get some support since February. I've been sending emails since February it's April and NOT 1 human being has reached out to me regarding this issue despite the numerous emails and request it's just computer generated emails telling me they can't verify my email. I just want my money back. A process that should have taken a week is now going into 3 months and this is ridiculous.

Desired Outcome

I just want my money back

An unauthorized charge was made on my card even after cancelling my membership 3 weeks prior to the due date.
After noticing a pending transaction on my Paypal account for a Shaw Academy premium membership, I emailed them to make sure my membership was cancelled before the amount was due. I sent the email on 04/03/2020 and was still charged the next day on 04/04/2020. I had already cancelled my membership around 3 weeks prior on 03/08/2020. They sent me a confirmation email that I had cancelled my membership and was losing access to all benefits within 3 days after receiving that email. I thought that was the end of it. However, they decided to charge me 3 weeks after cancelling it. I demanded a refund but they said that since I didn't cancel during the 4-week trial, they have the right to refuse a refund. My trial began on 02/10/2020 and I cancelled my membership within the 4-week trial on 03/08/2020. Yet, they still claim that I did not cancel my membership within the trial period.

Desired Outcome

I am seeking a full refund for this month and a COMPLETE cancellation of my membership with the business.

Hello,

I'm just emailing to inform you that the company has reached out to me directly and the issue has been resolved. Thank you.

This company won't let me cancel my subscription anymore.
I've subscribed for a free trial with this company, but wanted to unsubscribe because I can't attend the classes, so I checked on how to do that, and I found tons of reviews about this topic. This company won't let me unsuscribe until the free month will expire so that they can charge me. I wan't to cancel, I went true the all proccess twice and been told to do it again. First on the website, than I had to call a number that after 9 atutomated choices told me to send an email. And on both email I dind't have an answer.

I want to cancel, please let me cancel!

Desired Outcome

I want to unsubscribe from all of your services and I want you to delete my credit card information. I have not partecipate in any course and I don't intend to so I can't be billed.

They promise a 30 day free trial then trick you into a purchase by having a very sensitive, 1 step link designed to be hit accidentally as you scroll
I wish that I had checked out all of the complaints against the Shaw Academy before I signed up for a Nutrition course. The intro explains that 'the free trial needs a form of payment entered in order to prevent people from signing up for multiple free trials and to protect Shaw Academy from fraud.'
It all happened April 4, 2020 in a 10 minute window of time.
I created an account and then was able to see a preview of the first module. Immediately, I knew that the course wasn't going to suite me:
1. The instructors voice was irritating to me
2. The schedule was too rigid
3. Within 5 minutes I had received 2 emails, 2 texts from different numbers in Quebec, a voicemail from California and a WhatsApp message.
I was scrolling through the information to find the 'cancel' or 'unsubscribe' options. I touched a red text that went directly to a payment for some toolkit that in any reputable business practice would have allowed me to VIEW the product first and DECIDE to purchase it for $34.95.
Attempts to reach the other end of each of the 6 methods Shaw Academy had used to contact me where dead ends.
I located an email 'here' for support link and got an automatic response for my inquiry as to 'how I could be refunded for the unintended purchase of an undisclosed toolkit?'
I hope that they will reverse the sneaky charge for $34.95 Cdn back onto my Visa in a timely manner.
If the Revdex.com is not able to compel the Shaw Academy to cease their deceptive 'sales' tactics who would be?
After seeing all of the other people with complaints about the same hair-trigger text and charges that went through after their relationship with the 'Academy' had ended, I wonder why they are still allowed to actively take people's money without their consent?? If that many people have taken the time to reach out to the Revdex.com, I wonder how many more fell for the misleading tactics and didn't feel that they had a voice?
If I remove my payment method then they won't be able to refund me. It sounds like they were able to perform transactions on customers who had removed their information from the payment section of the Shaw Academy site anyway.
I have participated in a number of reputable online courses - free and paid. I understand that they are a means to gain more customers and future sales.

I have never encountered such agressive and deceptive tactics.

Desired Outcome

Thank you for providing a forum to reach individuals who may have been affected by the deceptive tactics of The Shaw Academy. Also to reach those and warn them before they fall prey. I really want my money refunded. I feel as though my rights as a consumer have been violated. Internet marketing and sales is moving leaps and bounds ahead of legislation to govern it. Can you reassure consumers that steps are being taken to minimize our future risks?

Shaw Academy processed an unauthorized charge on my credit card and refused to refund the money although I did never purchased their services.
I had registered in Jan and attended 3 classes during the trail period and since their their classes were not relevant to my requirement. I stopped using it and also told them that I would not be interested in continuing. But they had not cancelled my subscription and pursuaded me to continue - which I did not realise, however I stopped using their services. After two months - they have deducted money from my credit card. When I contacted them they mentioned that I clicked on the purchase certificate, when I haven't used their classes how can I apply for a certificate. I do not have a job and I do not want to pay when I haven't used their service - I have requested them couple of times to refund it but they said they cannot.

Desired Outcome

Can shaw academy refund back the money back to my account.

Respected Revdex.com-( team,
Thank you so much for your help.
Shaw academy has sent an email stating that they are unable to process the refund back so instead they have offered free use of their website for a years time. This is for your information. So is it possible to close this case. Let me know.

Thanks again

I signed up for a free trial and was charged £30 after interacting with the site.
I signed up for a free trial of their graphics course, they asked for my paypal information to set up my account but assured me that I could cancel the subscription prior to the end of the trial and not be charged anything.

I was then shocked to discover I had been charged £29.95 by the site. There was NO indication on the specific area that I clicked that there would be a cost incurred. I have since attempted to cancel my membership, via the website, a convoluted automated phone line, email and SMS; but I am still receiving messages insisting I begin this course.

I haven't downloaded any information or data from the site. I just want a refund for the unauthorised charge on my card.

Desired Outcome

Full refund

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)

Fraudulent charges without the option to opt out of them as well as 3 individual hidden service fees for starting a free-trial.
I received an ad on Instagram on Saturday March 21st, 2020 for a 30 day free trial of Shaw Academy's Graphic Design course. I signed up and set my scheduled class time for Tuesday March 24th at 5:00pm. When the time for the class rolled around I was out grocery shopping, so I couldn't attend, but I received an automated call from Shaw Academy saying I could change my course time to a later date so I didn't fall behind.

When I got home I went to my profile page on their website and click the "edit" button beside the class scheduled time, upon doing so I received a pop-up saying my purchase was successful and that I had bought "Toolkit for Professional Diploma in Graphic Design Module 1". This was a purchase I certainly did not intend to make, no where was it indicated to me that clicking the "edit" button would instigate a purchase and I was not given the chance to say I didn't want to make this purchase.

I checked my billing history on their website to confirm a purchase was made and discovered it was in-fact a $34.95 transaction. I also discovered in my billing history that there was 3 separate "$1.00 card validation" charges made when I began my free trial and now after the most recent purchase there were 2 more $1.00 "card validation" charges. So now my free trial experience had turned into a $39.95 charge.

From here I contacted Shaw Academy asking to have these transaction refunded because they weren't intentional. On March 27th Shaw Academy replied to my email and informed me of the benefits of my purchase, but also provided me with $199 of store credit to ensure I had a positive experience.

On March 28th I responded saying

"Hello,

Thank you for getting back to me promptly.

Although I do understand it is in your company's best interest to offer me credit, I do not consent for you to continue my membership with your services and will not be accepting this option, nor using any of your services. As explained in my previous communication, I clicked on a button that said "edit" and was promptly charged without any explanation of what I was being charged for, nor any mention of a surcharge for attempting to alter the time of my course during your "free trial".

Currently, I will be expecting a refund for the charge of $34.95, as well as the $5.00 of individual "card validation charges" that I also have not authorized. To be very clear, I do not consent to ANY further charges in addition to expecting a full refund, and will not accept any imposed "cancellation charges" as I am sure you can understand.

I have received no information from this experience that was not charged, and as such the free trial that was advertised was misrepresented and I do not accept it, nor its terms or conditions. If not refunded, I will understandably have to be in contact with the Revdex.com as well as the RCMP in regards to the fraudulent charges."

It has now been one full business week since I have sent this message and I have not received a refund or response. I have since cancelled my membership on April 3rd by contacting their email address ***@shawacademy.com saying:

"I am cancelling my membership to all Shaw Academy services indefinitely. I do not consent to any further charge, such as cancellation fees. I am cancelling my membership due to fraudulent charges and repeated hidden fees. I contacted your support service alerting them to the situation on March 28th asking for a full refund but have yet to hear back from your company. Because of this I have no further choice but to report Shaw Academy to the Revdex.com on the basis of fraudulent charges."

Desired Outcome

For myself I am looking for the full $39.95 refund to my credit card and to ensure my membership is fully cancelled from Shaw Academy with no further hidden charges or access to their services. For Shaw Academy I want them to include a pop-up whenever any purchase is instigated that will require customers to confirm that they consent to the purchase, as is standard on most e-commerce websites. I also want their transaction buttons to be more clearly labelled so customers can better understand when clicking on a spot within the page, that it will begin the transaction process.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I reached out to Shaw Academy at their priority customer service email, ***@shawacademy.com, but when they responded they only acknowledged my confusion about the hidden multiple service charges which they said were reversed. I can't access my credit card account right now so I can't confirm whether this is true or not. But, in their response email there was no reference to the refund request for the $34.95 tool kit they deceived me into buying. Instead they just provided the same 3 paragraphs of text they had sent before explaining what the toolkit is and how they would give me additional credit to make me happy. Which essentially returned us back to square one.

It is clear at this point that Shaw Academy will not provide me a refund through email as they know if they give me a refund it will set a precedent where they may have to provide refunds to many other customers who have been tricked into making additional purchases. I don't believe I will be able to attain what I am looking for, which at this point is primarily a fundamental change to their online sales process that will avoid scamming future customers into making additional purchases.

Cannot cancel my account a trial account. I don't want to be charged after the 30 day free tria
I signed up for a free 30 day trial only to discover other hidden costs. I tried to cancel online, after being asked over and over about 6 times if I was sure I wanted to cancel I was then told that I had to call a number. I call the number and listened to automated options and was again asked multiple times if I was sure I wanted to cancel and each time I said no I was offered another "free" thing. Once I declined all of this over the phone I was told to close my account I would have to send an email to ***@shawacademy.com. I did this and I have not heard anything from Shaw academy other than how I need to log in to my class. I do not want to be charged and I want this account closed immediately. I have made attempts 3 different ways, I have replied to their class emails and no one will acknowledge my request and close this account. I feel as if this is a scam due to the lack of response after requesting to close my account. When I signed up I got immediate response through email and text but cancelling is another story.

Desired Outcome

I want my account closed and I do not want to be billed. I want acknowledgement through email that this account has been closed. My email is ***@msn.com. I opened this account on 4/1/20 so I should not be billed anything as I have not exceeded my 30 day free trial

Shaw Academy Response • Apr 23, 2020

Dear Student,
As per your request we have cancelled your subscription.

This company refuses to refund my money.
I tried to cancel some transaction I never made, I called company cr but there's not an actual person to speak to, everything is with a recording machine they never sold my issue. I also email them and they only tried to sell me courses I don't need and they didn't help with my issue. I tried to cancel my subscription but there's not an actual website I can do it, they keep sending back to call and email but they never helped. I can't believe a company like this call themselves "professional" and "care" about us.

Desired Outcome

I only ask for refund and close my account, I don't want to keep getting charged for a service I never even tried.

Shaw Academy Response • Apr 23, 2020

It is impossible to cancel subscription.
I registered for a free trial (which they ended up billing $1), then when I wasn't impressed with their offerings, I tried to cancel on their website. After clicking through multiple layers of them trying to coax you into changing your mind, it directs you to call. When you call, it goes through several layers of choices trying to retain you with different offers, then it directs you to email. I emailed and they respond with more trying to retain you, and direct you back to the original website if you really want to cancel which you can't because it just tells you to call again.

Desired Outcome

I want my membership cancelled and to never be contacted by them again. And, their cancellation procedures need to be corrected.

I am happy that my membership was finally cancelled as requested, but do not feel that the issue is resolved as they continue to have the same practice of deceptive process of cancellation when failing to cancel a free trial results in being billed. It took several days of website applications, phone calls, and emails being redirected through loops between the 3 before I was able to finally cancel.

Shaw Academy processed an unauthorized charge on my credit card and refused to refund the money although I never purchased their services.
Shaw Academy processed an unauthorized charge for services to my credit card. When I reached out for help and explanation, they provided me with "free services" and will not respond further to my emails for an explanation.

March 02, I signed up for a 4-week free trial with Shaw Academy.
March 02, I was charged a .50cents pre-authorization fee.
March 13, I was charged .50cents three times (total $1.50).

March 27, I tried to cancel my services but the cancellation process was not successful.

March 27, I emailed the company for help.
March 27, they replied requesting that I provide them with the email I used for my account.

March 28, I found the link to cancel my account. I canceled it. There were no email confirmation about cancelation. The system simply brought me back to my account dashboard after I confirmed to cancel.

March 30, I was charged $59.99

March 31, they responded back asking for more details.
March 31, I responded back to Shaw Academy, and there were no additional responses.

April 01, they charged me $60.00. I logged back into my account, the system had my account active again. Then, email communication began after I reached out again. They provided me with an email of their terms and policy, an explanation of why they cannot refund me, and offered me three-months free.

April 01, I responded asking for more details and answers to my questions. They have not responded back to any of my emails.

April 03, I'm being ghosted by the company. They're refusing answer me.

At this point, all I want as a resolution is a refund of my $60.00 + $2.00 for pre-authorization charges, in a total amount of charges, $62.00.

I refuse to proceed forward with this company. I have reached out to them before the final date for my account to be refreshed and charged. Their privacy statement does not provide details on how to cancel the account. In addition, the terms and conditions do not explain what happens if a person reaches out to the company before their trial end date, inquiring about canceling their account before they're charged the full fee. Lastly, their terms and condition says their free-trial last 28 days, and I reached out to them for help two days before the end date to my trial.

Desired Outcome

I want a refund of my total amount in charges: $62.00. Also, the attorney general of New Hampshire should investigate this company and shut them down for shady business operations.

Shaw Academy Response • Apr 22, 2020

Hi ***

Thank you for your help with seeking a resolution with Shaw Academy. The number one goal for everyone who encountered this company negatively is for an investigation to be launched.

As discussed on the phone, I've attached an email response from Shaw Academy agreeing to refund me $59.99 in total charges.

Thank you, once again, for your help.
***

P.S. My last email to them was an attempt of a scare tactic in hope someone from the company would respond back to me. And it didn't work (LOL). All I wanted was my money back.

Shaw Academy offered free 28 days of access, but charges me multiple times
I signed up for Shaw Academy from an ad stating it was offering 28 days of free access/trial. It asks for my credit card and charges 3 separate $1.50 entries on my card. Then, the class's "join now" button is right next to the "tool kit" button. I thought I clicked on the "join now" to get into the online course, but it turns out to be a "one-time click" tool kit and went ahead and charged me $34.95 with 2 more entries of $1.50 yesterday. I reached out to them and did not get any response. One of their classes is on web development and marketing. They purposely put these 2 buttons next to each other so that they can easily charge their students. This is not good practice. The "tool kit" is the lecture materials (slides, homework, etc) that is necessary to work through - but as a person trying this out, I don't want to pay so much. Lastly, one of the courses (smartphone photography), reference "up and coming" things for 2017. It's a very old and outdated course. In summary, this is a scam. Do not sign up for the class.

Desired Outcome

I seek refund of all the erroneous charges, especially $34.95 tool kit that I did not want

Shawn Academy Trial Subscription Scam. Non compliance of offer. Breach of data protection. Harassment after subscription cancelled. Charged 2m later.
Dear Sirs,

I have came across a free trial offer for 4 weeks through Facebook. I clicked on the link and in order to see the courses offered I had created an account and informed my bank account number on the 16.02.20. Upon notice that no course offered by this company interested me I have asked for my trial to be cancelled the day after 17.02.20. I was told to do this from by login into account which I did. A few days later I begun to receive countless emails from this company telling me that there was a problem with my registration and to me go back without offer a credit card number. I simply ignored those emails as I wanted no dealings with this company. The card I had provided had not being charged ever after 4 weeks, in early March so I had no reasons to suspect I would be charged but early yesterday I had received a text from PayPal stating their fee would reach my account in three days. I immediately contacted PayPal and informed this to be an unauthorized transaction and because PayPal understand that this was authorised because I was the one who handled the credit card number PayPal was quick to dismiss my claim and close the case and now I am unable to reopen the claim stating that there was a problem with the service. I had contacted the seller in several different emails and had received a standard reply saying refund was not possible, that the offer is clear upon registration that they took the liberty to cancel from now and that they would give me 6 months for free which I have no use for. I felt so upset and outraged for they have used my bank details two months later, having kept my details against Data Protection Act and harassed me on the *** trial that I had replied with innapropriate language. They are aware that I have never benefited from the trial that I had not even fell for the trick of faulty registration and still they have proceeded to charge my card. I am still extremely upset as Im in low income and have other issues to resolve. I did not want to divert from my deadlines in another matter to be disputing a charge I clearly had no authorised, benefited from or that would benefit me in the future by any means as it is not on my goals to qualify for any of the courses they can teach at moment and they no that. If they can cancel after my complaint and after being already cancelled through PayPal why would they need to cancel again? That only shows that PayPal is involved in their scam as they still had the opportunity to keep charging me even though the subscription status was classified as inactive. I am appalled by PayPal collusion with this business or total lack of training for their employees on recognize fraud or to at least had asked for more evidence before closing the case as the emails exchanged would support my claim.
I hope after this detailed complain my fee will be refunded and I will never ever be bothered by emails from them again which were also a breach of GDPR principles.
Regards.

Desired Outcome

I look forward to the total refund and to have my details removed from their data base

Dear Sirs,

I have contacted you several times by several means and I had received confirmation of an agreed refund twice but so far I got no funds.

I am in very low income and this makes me even more upset for the treatment I have received.

I desperately need the refund immediately.

I have to source money from abroad. I have no one I can borrow money from and I do need this refund now to meet my most basic needs.

I can confirm the email related to my account is ***@hotmail.com

I look forward to hear from you soon.

Regards,
***.

Dear ***,

Having checked our records, we see you have registered for a free trial on 16-Feb-XXXX XX:XX
and got charged on 16-Mar-2020 as you have not cancelled it. That said, I am going to help you with a refund here, it will take 6-7 working days for the refund to reflect in your account.

I accepted their free 4 week course but I wanted to cancel a few days after. I have sent countless emails. That say I have to call, but the calls end up telling me I have to email them to confirm. There's no way I can talk to a live person. And I'm trying to cancel this subscription before I get charged. This has been going on for days now.

I am just happy someone responded. Continuous calls and never got an answer, it would eventually just hang up on me. So happy I don't have to deal with it anymore. Thank to Revdex.com for helping me resolve this issue before they started charging me.

Dear student,

Please accept our sincere apologies. The amount was debited 3 days prior to the cancellation. Your refund details have been forwarded to our team for processing.

I recently found ShawAcademy on instagram as an advertisement on classes for kids. After further investigation, this is not for my kids.
Problem Date April 3rd 2020, Purchase Date March 31st 2020, Account Numbers (none), Payment amount is at a total of $2 as of right now.

Desired Outcome

I was looking for classes for my children during this COVID-19 crisis (preferably free or within a reasonable cost as I am currently under financial strain). I signed up on March 31st. Then I received a phone call from someone in NY on April 2nd 2020 about the course. She was asking me questions and I said how this was just for my kids (Coding for kids with a picture of a kid). She kept talking about the course being important to me. Despite the fact that I just said it was for my kids. After the call, I just felt as though this was not an avenue for my kids and I best look for other curriculum online. I went online and checked my banking. I was charged 4 times ($1) each time and then refunded twice ($1 each time). Which was incredibly strange to me. All of this at this point has/had left a bad feeling and I didn't want to sign on any longer. So I went online to cancel. I clicked through 7 times and got to an eventual phone number. I called. It had 3 different questions/promotions to cancel. Using words like "or if you wish to give up on your goals press 4". Which again really only reiterated my dislike with their advertisement geared towards kids. I finally got to a message that stated to email ***@shawacademy.com. I started to write the email and simultaneously check their reviews. Which only unsettled me even more. They state you can cancel but have made it next to impossible for not only myself but for many others. I am now an hour in after phone calls, emails and now this trying to make sure I don't get charged more than the $2 at this point. We are literally in a pandemic where parents are just trying their best to educate their children and a company who is taking advantage of that and not being entirely transparent with what their cancelation process is. I am 100% not okay with them having my credit card information even after the fact and that adds more discomfort and work having to potentially contact my credit card company to change my card. I want this resolved, I have gone through many companies in my life and have never come across one so eager to take your credit card information and not give you a clear path to cancel. My complaint is that I want to cancel. I want the company to email me with confirmation of that cancellation and my account to no longer exist. Thank you.

Shaw Academy has a system of one click to make purchases which they don't make very visible. I clicked on a link and got charged $29.99 and when I asked for a refund they wouldn't give it to me and supposedly extended my trial membership. My mistake so I took it on myself. However, I sent one last email to them to ask them to stop my membership and delete my account. I received no response. This morning I suddenly get two charges of $29.99 from Shaw Academy. I was on a client call and on my company google drive. So I was not on the Shaw Website and never authorized or clicked on anything that would make me buy anything from their website. I learnt that they tried to make three purchases of $29.99 from my Paypal without authorization and two purchases went through. I have sent numerous emails to them to get the second two charges of $29.99 reversed and have heard nothing. Shaw Academy is fraudulent and have places on there website that if you click you will get charged without any notice.

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) At this point I would like the following:1. Refund of ALL charges including the first one from Shaw Academy $89.97 within the next 48 hours.2. Closure of my account on Shaw Academy and deletion of all my information from the Shaw Academy website and any other database they are connected to.3. No more emails or whatsapp after many notices that I don't want any more marketing or sales contact. 4. The only communication I want from Shaw Academy is resolution of this issue and my refunds.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I have emailed them and they eventually refunded me only 2 out of the 3 classes worth of what they charged me.

What I would like is insights in how I can show that they are illegally creating a one click bait and switch with customers and creating havoc and time drain on our side.

At this point I do NOT want to pursue further as they have already taken a lot of time away from my work.
