Mu email used for shaw academy is ***@gmail.com
The email used for paypal from which the funds were taken is ***@gmail.com
The amount of the unauthorized transaction was 34.99
Last 4 digits of card ***
Date of payment 7/27/2020
Desired Outcome
I request that a full refund be issued I was not informed of a subscription I have no records via email of a subscription I feel like this company is taking advantage of people out of work during a Pandemic those were the last ones I had available and now they are gone because of something I was not aware of. I never even accessed their website. The funds were taken from my PayPal account and I did not allow access to my PayPal account which means that is an unauthorized fraudulent transaction

As you all are aware of the terms mentioned no such charges for failure to cancel the 14 day trial. Shaw Academy has a history of predatory practices and fraudulent transactions as you can see from reviews on their website social media and other complaints in the Revdex.com I am very literate and an I am able to read the terms and conditions nothing was mentioned no communication was made and no emails were sent I was not even aware that such charges would occur and I received no notifications even after the charges were posted to my account

Did not activate account with shaw academy but they billed me anyway. $69.99
After reviewing their credibility, I decided not to enroll. NO REFUND!
I did not activate courses for an account with shaw academy but they billed me anyway. $69.99. I was reviewing their courses and wanted to try it but did not and cancelled. they texted me and I said I did not want their services. After reviewing their credibility, I decided not to enroll. I emailed them twice and NO REFUND! I have some of the same complaints that others have experienced. Just be honest with your potential customers. They offered me more classes, but I feel their reputation is not a company I want to do business with. Basically professional scammers!
Desired Outcome
Complete REFUND. They texted me and sai
d my class is starting and I can opt out. and it also said Webinar REGISTRATION. I did not click on either one and I did opt out. I was no longer interested. They then billed me the $69.99 and after I emailed them, they billed me $.50 more for "Card Validation - 100% Refundable" $0.50. I cannot believe that a company worth $60M can treat people like this.

They charged my card for a service I have to used and upon requesting a refund they refuse to refund the amount. I have not used their course.
On July 24, 2020 I signed up to their free online course. They keep sending a pop-up on my phone to purchase a toolkit for the course. It was purchased and never used. Upon requested a refund on July 24,2020, the company refuses to grant the refund request. I informed them I would cancel the subscription completely and they have not responded. The class has not started and the module has not been used. I would like to receive a refund from them promptly.
Desired Outcome
I would just like the refund of Euro $39.00

I signed up with Shaw Academy for a free 4 week graphic design class and was charged $39.95 that I was not made aware of.
I signed up to take free graphic design classes with Shaw academy in which they initially charged me .50 cents and then refunded that amount and charged me $39.95. So I canceled the account before the classes started and demanded a refund and they told me they could not refund my money.
Desired Outcome
I would like a refund.

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I accept it because I was not aware of the one click purchase of the toolkit. So when they charged me I was surprised and immediately canceled my account because I thought everything was free for the 4 weeks. So I never took any courses or used that toolkit once I canceled. I literally canceled the day after I signed up once I saw that charge.
I found that Shaw Academy charged my PayPal account without permission and conducted an unauthorized promise to email me to avoid any charges.
I suspect that they're trying to distract me into offering me free schooling when I already said I want my refund as suppose to when I was recommended that I should contact them by PayPal regarding my case. I was trying to prevent any charges to the account, but I was charges yesterday without any reminders they promise to hold.
When I added my credit card to erase my PayPal method option. I know I've blocked the card, so money cannot be pulled out. For record, my PayPal wasn't seen any longer but until I was charged and it popped up onto my account again. Like it almost come out of nowhere.
Desired Outcome
I'm seeking a full refund on my behalf going through this troubled mess with Shaw Academy.

I got billed for using some TOOLKIT which I did not want and then the customer support said that they would help me out but ignored me .SCAM
I had applied for a 4 week free trial and then as I was in my 4th class in the 1st week ,I got billed for using some TOOLKIT which I did not want and then the customer support (all of them where bots) said that they would help me out but ignored me. I kept reaching out to them and they just ignore me. I dont want their service as they had a very glitchy software and so I was shocked when I realised that I was Billed . Shaw Academy have scammed alot of people with the same issue and have not refunded them their money. I got charged a whopping 39.95GBP without my knowledge. They dont deserve to be on the internet scamming people and trying to show people that their are a Legit . They have left many students in troubles through Education Scams. The Amount charged is a lot and havent been refunded . As a student I have Tuition fees to pay and shaw academy has taken advantage over me.
They said that they will provide me with another free month of trial but Im not interested in that offer and need my money back.I also email tons of their varios emails including ***@shawacademy.com.
I was charged on the 22/07/2020
My paypal account used : ***@gmail.com
Desired Outcome
I am eagerly waiting for a refund from Shaw Academy through my Paypal account. It isnt fair to scam anyone specially portraying that they are an original education company. I have been emailing them everyday. They had also offered me a free month of access but Im not interesed in using that because they are scammers. I hope to get a refund (39.95 GBP) from them ASAP.

Shaw Covid Promotional Campaign #OpenWeStand is FRAUD
Shaw Academy is now (24th July 2020) giving Promotional Memberships for 4 weeks to try the academy.
Shaw Academy belong to a Covid Promotional Campaign called #OpenWeStand, with other members mentioned they claim they are helping the society (us) to cope with the crisis we are all going through.
Now, sadly I have realized that at least with Shaw Academy it is just A DECEITFUL MARKETING STRATEGY.
When you try to use the the promotion after ONE WEEK you are BLOCKED.
Since the start every time you log in you are ASKED FOR PAYMENT DETAILS.
Despite you are given the option to enter without giving those details, guess! As what they actually want to get from you is that, they BLOCKED my membership, and I still have 3 weeks ahead of promotional time.
Not only I am not able to keep going with the following modules of the Diploma, but I am also unable to enroll in any other diploma.
So I am completely blocked because they want my PAYMENT INFORMATION which I am not going to give because I am only using a 4 week promotional membership. And it is not stated anywhere in the promotion that I need to give that information to use the promotional membership.
Obviously I have contacted the support team to report this issue. The first thing I did. And yes I waited for the 48 hours they asked me to. Nothing has been solved after 3 days!
Anything has happened, and as this is a time based promotion they are wasting that time while they do not do anything.
The only reason why they promote themselves is to ask for your payment details. One of their main strategies is to bill you and then just mimic they will solve that mistake.
But the reality is that they will not do anything as is happening now with me, with a different problem but is just they way they are used to make businesses.
They are deceitful, they just reply to bad reviews as a marketing strategy, they do not do anything to solve any issue, just because is the way they develop their business strategies.
Desired Outcome
I am just asking for the fulfillment of what they have promised as a promotion, the full 4 week premium membership.
If they are not giving that, they should correct what they deceitfully claim they do as part of the #OpenWeStand Campaign.

What they have replied is not true or factual.
I have been always in contact with the support team from the beginning; the following is the email address they have given to me:
***@shawacademy.zendesk.com / ***@shawacademy.zendesk.com
And I was never been asked to send any information regarding the completion of any module. By the way that email address:
***@shawacademy.com
Is the first time I see it.
But the problem/issue that I have, I still have with Shaw is that I was given a 4 week promotion to study all the content I can. So I did try the academy as I said in the beginning, and after the completion of the first module in the first week, I was blocked.
What I am going to attached this time is all the the emails I have exchanged with them in PDF, and also the status of the diploma I was doing with screen captures Image files.
What I would like from Shaw is to be given 100% sure the full 4 week promotional time. Instead what they have been doing is trying to sell their products which obviously I am not going to buy as now I am deeply concerned what could happen also if I disclose my payment information. The internet is full of bad reviews about Shaw regarding deceitful billing.
Also Revdex.com I let you know that they are pretty good with online marketing and that is why they are used to reply to any review just to keep customer support response records high, what they do after that is just nothing. That is actually what is happening here.

That is not what matters, just give me the 4 weeks free of charge time which I have been given before and now you have taken from me after just 1 week.
What you say is not true, because if I am not in your system how you are able to send me all the promotions to sell your products.
Keep your promise and besides your deceitful marketing strategies, at least this time do what you should do.
Stop playing and give me back my 4 weeks!

I signed up for the 4 week free trial and did not like the course content. I cancelled the subscription on online app but was still charged $64
Hi signed up for a 4 week trial course on june 21st. I did not like the course content as it was too basic and any YouTube video would have the same content. I was repeatedly getting calls from shaw academy student success managers to upgrade and upsell. So I spoke to an agent, who cancelled my subscription when he realized that I am not at all interested. Later on july 22nd. I see a $64 charge on my visa bill.

Was charged for a service I never used and wont use.
I signed up for what was advertised as a FREE course, NOT a "free 4 week trial". I cancelled this and never signed in again. After the "free trial" ended, my account was charged. The same day I was charged, I email them letting them know I never used their services nor will I and that I need a refund. They replied with some excuse that they could not issue a refund but they would give me "6 free months". I never used their service, I never will, I have the right as a consumer to get my money back. Plus this is being done in tough times because of the Pandemic. I cannot AFFORD this service.
Desired Outcome
I need a refund as they were misleading and advertised this as a "free 4 week course" and not a "free 4 week trial" and charged me

With my email address, ***@outlook.com, signed up for a trial. Tried to cancel a day later through the app, but it won't allow you to. Says to call and "speak w/an advisor." But doesn't list a #. Both numbers available on google aren't working. (One discon., another "not yet in service.") I tried to block PayPal from sending it through and it still went thru anyway.

Would not allow me to cancel my membership.
I requested online to cancel my trial membership because I did not feel the services provided were up to par with what a university would provide. I had 20 days left on the trial. I went through about 5 pages of discouraging media trying to stop me from quitting but finally got to the page that said to call a number and gave me my student ID number in reference that I would need for the call. I called the number, it asked for the student ID followed by the # sign, and so I entered the student ID followed by the # sign and it said the ID was incorrect so I tried again, same result. I hung up, called back, tried again, same result. I went to my account, looked up the student ID, it was the same number. I emailed them and told them what occurred and threatened to sue if I was charged. Then I came here and told you because I found the whole website and school fishy from the start. My first class wasn't even a class, it was a slide that said they had an update and to come back soon. They had classes later, yes, but they weren't very good. Also, it was difficult to find assignments and quizzes, and they sold the toolkit and in order to get your certificate, you had to purchase it.
Desired Outcome
I don't want to be charged, and I want the account canceled.

Unauthorized payment, cancellation made within trial period
There was a suspicious charge to my account of .50c 6/25. I wasn't aware that an account was open under my name, when I send in email to ask if there was an account associated they had said no account was found so I didn't look into it further. Then I got a charge yesterday for 70$ to my PayPal. Apparently there is an unauthorized payment made under another email I have I was unaware of. I didn't authorize for this nor was I notified by email receipt of such agreement. And if I am going by when the first charge was sent, today is one day prior to one month period. Not only did they not inform me that I was registered but they charged me prior to month end.

Shaw Academy charged me before the free trial expired without my consent.
I signed up for the free trial with shaw academy, but I didn't take any courses, so I didn't use the free trial. I set a reminder to cancel the account after 4 weeks but shaw academy had already charged me 49.99 euro in advance !! I contacted the support but they didn't offer a refund.
So I am asking for a refund again, considering that I didn't attend ANY course neither now nor during the free trial and that I was charged a day BEFORE the end of the 4 weeks. This is a scam, an honest company would immediately refund a dissatisfied customer who hasn't used any services. If this company continues to deny me the refund I am entitled to I am going to report this fraud to the police.

Shawacademy, charged me $70 even though on the website it said I wouldn't be charged unless I wanted to continue. Now they won't refund me.
I signed up for this SCAM in late March I wanna say, and I received a long free trail, unfortunately I wasn't able to use it due to home situations. But I vividly remember at the new account process they specified that I would not be charged unless I wanted to continue and they wouldn't charge me without my authorization. I woke up two days ago 7/23 to $70 being taken out. I emailed them and they basically said I wouldn't be getting my money back. Even though I didn't use the program and said that I didn't want to continue, they charged me. They offered me 6 months free which is valued at $400 but they refuse to give me back $70. This place is a SCAM and they spit nothing but LIES !!!
My account was ALSO non-renewing Manning my account shouldn't be renewed at the end of the free trial!

I have detailed why this is not ok many times in an email to you, please refer to that to not waste time. I have well before the cancelation period asked that my account get canceled so I do not get charged. There is proof of this and time stamp in the email. I do not have access to my account nor do I know what website it is on as I have never ever used your product , or even know what it is not even once, as it was a trial that I ended up not wanting to use. I did NOT give you permission to charge my card, as a representative replied to my email request giving no indication what so ever that it was not canceled. Again, I have no access to my account so could not cancel, so I emailed you directly. This is shady and shoddy. This is why I was surprised to get charged a whopping $79? For nothing. It is too bad I only saw that you have done this many times in the past despite people canceling.

UNABLE TO CANCEL ACCOUNT AND COMPANY NONRESPONSIVE TO ALL MY CONTACTS
I am unable to cancel my account. I provided credit card details to initiate free membership and do not wish to continue. Cancelling free membership is apparently VERY difficult, I have to call a number between certain hours and give them a student pin. When I call the instructed number I am told my student pin is incorrect and there is no way to speak to a real person. So, I cannot cancel my account on their website or via phone. They have been completely unresponsive to my emails. I wish to cancel my account before accruing any charges and I believe they were misleading in the nature of their free trial as well as being intentionally difficult to contact to prevent me from canceling.
Desired Outcome
I wish DIRECT confirmation that my membership has been cancelled, with NO accrued charges on my account.

Unauthorized charge to my credit card/paypal account after already canceled.
After registering online on 6/26/2020 for what I thought was a 4 week free online course, I soon realized that it was not 4 weeks, it was 16 weeks. After further investigation and reading reviews that Shaw Academy is a scam and they make unauthorized charges, I quickly decided to cancel within minutes of registering. I have my confirmation sheet attached and also called and confirmed that I was cancelled, through their automated line. Yesterday evening, 7/24/2020, Shaw Academy made an unauthorized withdraw to my credit card/paypal account for $69.99. In my opinion this is a fraudulent withdraw, as I have canceled, therefore un-authorizing any further transactions between myself and Shaw Academy.
There is no way to contact Shaw Academy by phone. You must submit an online form, in which no one gets back to you. The phone number that results from a google search is no longer in service.
I did not register for a class, did not take any classes, and have not received any services from Shaw Academy. I want this resolved with my account being closed, Shaw Academy to delete any and all information regarding payment for my account, a refund for the $69.99, and confirmation that I will never be charged again from Shaw Academy.
Per my confirmation sheet, my "Student Number" is XXXXX.

Charged me with out my permission and won't refund my money.
I recently enrolled in a digital marketing course with Shaw Academy. The course was supposed to be free for the first 4-weeks, so my card would be charged after the 4-weeks unless I cancelled my enrollment.
Shaw Academy would send me different emails and text messages to alert me of other offers and when my class was starting.
The first week of my class, I got sick and ended up being late to one of the online classes. When I saw the text letting me know I was late, I immediately clicked the link to open the course.
I ended up looking at my bank statement for another transaction (unrelated to Shaw Academy) a few days later and saw that I was charged $39.95. When I logged into my account to see what I was charged for, it said that I had purchased an e-certificate. I never purchased anything. I mean why would I purchase an e-certificate from them when I had not even completed the course yet.
When I emailed Shaw Academy about the situation and refunding me my money, I was told that they can't refund my money but they could offer me a $199 credit with the school as well other course deals.
This was a load of ***. I was confused as to how they could offer me $199 credit, but not give me a refund of $39.95 which is less than the credit being offered.
I replied to their email by saying I do not want a credit, I wanted my money back, and they just told me again that they wouldn't be refunding me.
I decided to look up more about the school and realized this is a common business practice for them. They charge people for things because they use one-click purchase links. It's deceptive. So while you think you're clicking on one thing, you're actually making a purchase.
I immediately got super angry and decided to file a dispute with my bank. The claim is pending as I filed only a day ago, but I want to be certain that I will get my money back.
AlsoI unenrolled in the course and never received any confirmation email that my account with them was closed. Instead, there was a notification that told me to call them to confirm. What sense does that make?
This business deserves to be shut down. The amount of complaints are ridiculous.
Desired Outcome
I would like confirmation that I have been unenrolled, and I would like my money refunded.

Thank you to the Revdex.com, for assisting me in getting my refund. While I do accept Shaw Academy's response because they did refund my money, I will not applaud them for doing something they should've done from the very beginning. Stop scamming people out of their money. Shouldn't have had to go through 3rd party sources to get my money back. I hope your business gets shut down.
The company misrepresented the price of an offer and overcharged me
On the 9th of July I started my 4 weeks free subscription to the courses of Shaw Academy, I was gonna cancel the trial and delete my account on the 23rd because I was finding the courses not to be much of help. But on the 24th of July at 14:31 I received a phone call from one of the 'offices' at Shaw academy offering me a one year subscription deal for £1.99, obviously I was shocked by how low the price was so I asked the guy on the phone several times whether it actually was for £1.99, and he kept saying yes, so obviously I said accepted the £1.99 offer, but later on I saw on my bank statement that I got charged £199.95, and this is way over how much the guy was offering me, I did send them an email to contact them but I saw online that lot's of other people haven't received a refund from Shaw academy after contacting them or haven't even been able to contact them at all. So I came to this, I am a student so I don't have the luxury of spending that much money, so I really need that refund!!
The guy on the phone falsely represented the price of the offer and so I feel as if I was swindled, I don't know it was either an innocent misrepresentation or a negligent misrepresentation, but I just want my refund!!
Desired Outcome
A refund of £199.95

They gave me my refund back
I was charged $34.99 by Shaw Academy for a subscription I had no idea I was signed up for when I contacted company they refuse to issue a refund
Mu email used for shaw academy is ***@gmail.com
The email used for paypal from which the funds were taken is ***@gmail.com
The amount of the unauthorized transaction was 34.99
Last 4 digits of card ***
Date of payment 7/27/2020
I request that a full refund be issued I was not informed of a subscription I have no records via email of a subscription I feel like this company is taking advantage of people out of work during a Pandemic those were the last ones I had available and now they are gone because of something I was not aware of. I never even accessed their website. The funds were taken from my PayPal account and I did not allow access to my PayPal account which means that is an unauthorized fraudulent transaction
We have reviewed your account as well as gone through your complaint. We would like to bring to your attention that the amount that has been debited from your account is for auto renewal of the course since you failed to cancel your account within the trial period.
Hi ***,
We would like to apologize for your recent experience.
Having checked our records, we see that the refund has already been credited to your account and we have stopped the auto renewal on your account.
Please be assured that you will not be charged way forward until you reactivate it.

Complete REFUND. They texted me and sai d my class is starting and I can opt out. and it also said Webinar REGISTRATION.

I would just like the refund of Euro $39.00
We have reviewed your account and would like to confirm that we have charged £39.95 for the purchase (Module Toolkit) you made via our one click purchase option. As per our Terms and Condition mentioned to you during the registration this is a non refundable charge, however as a good will gesture I have initiated a refund which will be credited back to the source in next 3-5 business days.

They have now provided the refund to my account.

I am just asking for the fulfillment of what they have promised as a promotion, the full 4 week premium membership. If they are not giving that, they should correct what they deceitfully claim they do as part of the #OpenWeStand Campaign.
Hi ***, We are sorry to let you down with this experience. However, we would surely want to help you with the same, But we regret to inform you that we see no records of amount dedication related to this Email address (***@gmail.com) of your's in data hence we request you to kindly contact us using your registered Email on ***@shawacademy.com we are happy to help.

Shaw academy
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Hi ***, We are extremely sorry for the unpleasant experience with us, We have tried checking the information using your E-mail address but unfortunately, we were unable to find any matching data related to your issue hence we request you to kindly provide us your registered Email address without which we are unable to help you in this case.
With Regards,

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Well despite the fact I think you are just lying to me and to Revdex.com.
Intead of being sorry, if you are unable to find me in your system, even after all the files I have just sent to ***@shawacademy.com
Check the files I attached here.
Thanks

July 25, 2020, I created an account to the app of SHWN ACADEMY, and answered all details that needed upon registration and on the same day
I want to cancel the registration but cant find it on the app, I want my card details to be removed in their system
I want my card details to be removed from them, i want to unregister to their app

Please behave like a reputable ethical company and refund the $64 deducted from my visa.

I need a refund as they were misleading and advertised this as a "free 4 week course" and not a "free 4 week trial" and charged me

Signed up for a trial, then realized immediately I didn't have time. Tried to cancel- the app won't let you & no working phone number. NEED REFUND NOW
With my email address, ***@outlook.com, signed up for a trial. Tried to cancel a day later through the app, but it won't allow you to. Says to call and "speak w/an advisor." But doesn't list a #. Both numbers available on google aren't working. (One discon., another "not yet in service.") I tried to block PayPal from sending it through and it still went thru anyway.
I need my money back!

I would like a refund.

I want a FULL REFUND.

Hi ***, sorry to hear that you had to go through such trouble, This is definitely not the kind of service we stand for! We are as disappointed as you are to hear that your experience with us has not been stellar be it the web page or when you reached out to our support team. Give us a chance to make this right. We have initiated the full refund for (Shaw Academy Premium Membership - Monthly Subscription) of the amount of $69.99 USD, to the original mode of payment it should reflect in your respected account in 3-5 working days and we have cancelled your subscription as per your request.

I wish DIRECT confirmation that my membership has been cancelled, with NO accrued charges on my account.
We would like to confirm that your membership has been cancelled successfully.
Please be assured that you will not be charged for your membership unless you reactivate.

I want this resolved with my account being closed, Shaw Academy to delete any and all information regarding payment for my account, a refund for the $69.99, and confirmation that I will never be charged again from Shaw Academy.

I would like confirmation that I have been unenrolled, and I would like my money refunded.
We are sorry that you had to go through this entire ordeal. Please be assured that your account has been deactivated and we have initiated a refund which will be credited back to the source in next 3- 5 business days. Please let us know if there is anything else you need assistance with.

A refund of £199.95
