Hello, my complaint for shaw academy is two things. One is they refused to shutdown my free trial and a product that was setup fishy to steal my money

I wish to recieved my refund and end my free trial. Btw they never gave a electronic receipt for the product. I tried email but no luck on my side.

Shaw Academy deducted money for course materials which I do not have intention to buy. They didn't respond to my emails and phone calls.
On 20th of July 2020, a person from Shaw Academy called me and he didn't state clearly the call was for the purchase of course materials, which costs about MYR 479.88. After the call, an amount of 479.88 was deducted from my bank account. The person didn't seek for my permission or confirmation either for the purchase.

I sent emails to Shaw Academy but they are not responding. I called them as well, their number isn't under service.

I cancelled the free trial within a few days of signing up, the free trial is 30 days long. I have since been charge $50 for each of the previous 2 months. I contacted Shaw academy and they refused to refund my money, claiming I never cancelled. I have explained that I did in fact cancel the trial and that their system must not have logged it. They are still refusing my refund.

Thank you for finally refunding my money. You should check your system because I DID cancel before the trial period ended.
An ad popped up on my screen as I was about to click a button and it made a purchase for something called an E-Certificate that's was £39.95
On 21st July 2020, I was on the homepage of shaws and an ad popped up just as I was about to click a button for something else on the home page, this purchase went straight through and there was nothing I could do to stop it. It cost me £39.95 ! I'm 16 years old and over this recent pandemic I have been working hard at superdrug to earn some money which I was saving. This mistake has now took the majority of my money and now I feel scammed and used for something I do not want! is there any way I can just get refunded!!?

They were advertising a free registration for training but will require for a card details. Once signed up will be asked to pay before you can start
Dated July 21,2020, I decided to sign up for free to shaw academy for I want to attend to their free courses as advertised. Upon creating an account, I was required to provide my card details stating that they will not charged me upon registering. I was shocked when I already enrolled and saw many payments to be made before I can start a course which clearly contradicts to the statement they first made during advertisement that it was free. As I was browsing the site I accidentaly click the buy the module 1 certificate which automatically credited to my card. I am requesting for a refund but they have no response. I am also requesting to cancel my subscription but they are requiring to call them first.

I signed up for a 4 week trail and I tried going to the class and it wouldn't work I tried everything the app wouldn't work either and I didn't really have any help at all I tried for two days and it didn't work so I cancelled my account and it took money out and I email for a refund and haven't really had any help with this issue.

I have enrolled in courses for free trail but money deducted for e-certificate which I didnt get nor needed without completing course. Refund needed!!
Firstly I trusted the website and got enrolled for project management course on 20th July 2020 and there were many one click purchases(you do not realise money will be deducted for that click) which I didn't realise until today after money got deducted. Firstly I or any academy expects the students to finish the course and give tests and then gain certification. It seems Shaw Academy has charged me with E certificate module purchase and charged me 39euros from my debit card WITHOUT even starting the course and when questioned they are sending me a bill mentioning that I requested for it and also "I DIDNT RECIEVE ANY CERTIFICATE" for the charged money also.
I expect to have certificate only after I complete my course, take tests and then want certification and not paid certificate which is of no use to me and my intention was not to pay for any kind of certification. I only joined the website/courses as I saw it was a 4 week free trail and want to spend my time learning new things.
I do not need any certifcate and I want my money back.
They do not have any contact details mentioned on their website to call them directly and speak to them to reslove the issues.

4 week free trial offering access to all classes at any time not free. Charged my card without permission.
I signed up for the free four weeks described as having full access to all classes at any time for the duration of the four weeks. When attempting to access the first class after the class was over requiring me to unlock Module 1 a screen popped up describing what Module one entails while at NO point informing me it would in fact cancel my 4 week trial and charge my card IMMEDIATELY until after I clicked unlock. Telling me after the fact that the company had charged my card without ever asking permission or even mentioning a payment being necessary to do what the free trial describes. This is THEFT. Do not give this company a chance to scam you.

I would like to request a refund. I believe I've been charged unfairly and without proper instructions regarding their package.
I received a call concerning my ongoing classes, which were based on a one-month free trial. The person on the phone was explaining an offer and said she'll send an email. I dismissed it as a marketing call, and still assumed I would have the option to give my consent to go forward with the plan when she sends the email (which she said she will send immediately and will be there to assist me). Her instructions were quite unclear too. However, as soon as the call ended I was charged immediately and neither did I receive any email regarding the offer as promised. I'm not interested in the plan and I sent them an email as soon as possible to cancel it. I also cancelled the membership on their website immediately. I want a refund and do not wish to receive any services from them.

I signed up for the service in early June. I thought this was an online "at your own pace" type of learning service, but they had a schedule which did not fit my schedule. So I cancelled immediately, it took me through like a 3-4 page cancellation process confirming I wanted to cancel. I assumed that was the end of it. I received a charge to my account July 16th, and logged in and noticed my account still said active. I notified them of the circumstances, and they were unwilling to process a refund. They have "cancelled"my account although it doesn't show as cancelled, it just shows as "non-renewing". Which, in theory, I'd accept as a cancellation but I do not trust this company. Reading reviews, I'm not the only person this has occurred to. I just want my refund and to assure I will not be charged again. I've literally never used the service due to thinking the cancellation process I completed was valid.
The charge was for $69.99 to my card ending in ***.

Such a SCAM - STAY AWAY! These con artists lure you in with a promise of a free trial - but watch out, IT'S NOT FREE! You will accidentally give them money, they won't deliver what has been promised, they make it extremely difficult to cancel... I'm fighting with them to try to get a refund and I want to run FAR AWAY from these criminals. Make sure you don't give them any of your information, and if you do (as many of us have) you will need to email them incessantly to have your information removed from their databases... So frustrating. DON'T FALL FOR IT!!!

Despite cancelling my subscription Shaw academy have still billed me 3 months later.
I signed up for a free trial with Shaw academy on the 13 May 20. The trial required bank details but mentioned if you cancel before the end of the trial you will not be billed.
On the 14 May 20 I rang up Shaw academy to cancel. Despite the colleague trying to extend my free trial and offer other packages I refused and was told that my account was cancelled and no payments would be taken.
On the 16th July over 2 months later an unauthorised payment was taken from my account of 49.99 with no invoice or email stating my account was re open.
Despite multiple calls to Shaw academy at the start where I emphasised my desire to cancel my subscription they have still charged me.
It has now got to the point where I have had to involve my bank.
Desired Outcome
I want a refund for the services I have never used and requested to be cancelled over 2 months ago.

I got charged 69.99 on June 25th for a months membership fee even though I am not registered in the school database. I tried tell them that my email is not registered but Gomes said that I was and had to follow penal code... and cancel. How am I suppose to cancel something their system has no record of. Gomes said my email was registered after I emailed him 3 times and Shane who said will issue the refund never responded back after I sent my bank statement for the transaction number. Shane also said he couldn't find my email address registered so I have no idea who to trust.

Shaw Academy took money from my account without my permission, admitted they had a technical error on their side and then didn't refund me.
On the 23rd of May, I was debited $69.99 out of my account for Shaw Academy's nutrition course. I was only doing it for the 4 week free trial and forgot to cancel my account so I was a bit taken aback from this transaction out of my account. I emailed them and rightfully they said that I had signed up for that by agreeing to process my card details originally. Because I seemed confused in the email, they offered me a 6 month subscription for free. I was happy about this since I now could get more out of my $69.99. However, on the 28th of June 2020, I was debited another $69.99 out of my account even though the person (they did not write their name on the first email) said I was given a 6 month free membership. My ID Number for this email is #XXXXXXX. I had to email twice to get a response from another person, Vadik, saying that there was a "technical glitch", the 6 month membership was not active and that was why I was charged. On Vadiks email he wrote, "Sorry to let you know that a refund is not possible." I had not bought nor used their services again and so I have been charged without my permission- I believe this is called stealing. I simply ask to be compensated for that money.

This company advertises a free 4-week trial to their program and then makes it nearly impossible to cancel the subscription.
I signed up for Shaw Academy because they were advertising a free 4 week trial covering a project management course. After signing up and taking the first 3 courses I realized that the "Classes" were pretty well useless. You could learn more from free online sources or books. In the first few days Shaw Academy drove me to the breaking point when they started spamming me with pop up advertisements at every stage of clicking through their website and then calling, texting, and emailing me all night long to "remind" me about my "class" that was in 3 days. I had to call to be removed from their contact list to stop getting spam calls in the middle of the night. I then attempted to cancel the trial period, but was told I needed to cancel later in the trial period. Now two days before the end of the trial period I attempted to cancel the trial online so that I am not charged $60 a month for a worthless set of videos. Upon attempting to cancel I was sent on a wild goose chase of "more affordable options" even though the link suggested it was routing me to cancel my trial. More than 5 windows of rerouting ads later, I was finally dropped off at a landing page that says I cannot cancel the trial online and that I have to call in during business hours to cancel. This is absolutely ridiculous. If these individuals actually believed they were selling a good and ethical product they would not make it nearly impossible to cancel subscriptions. I will be sure to spread this information across my networks to prevent others from being scammed by such a terrible and worthless company.

Cancel my trial period and subscription immediately and DO NOT charge me for the worthless information you are trying to sell.

I signed up for a free 4 week trial on July 7, 2020 and on July 12, 2020 they charged my account for $69.99. I requested a refund but they refused
I signed up for a free 4 week trial for an online course on July 7, 2020 and my first session was to start on the July 12, 2020. When I clicked on the link to the session, I was immediately charged $69.99 on my debit card (i get a notification on my phone when a transaction occurs on my account). I immediately sent them an email letting them know I have a 4 week trial and was charges in error. They respond with their standard terms & conditions and indicated that I was beyond my free trial. Which clearly I am not. I sent a couple of additional responses to them and they just say that they don't give refunds. In my last email to them, I requested a phone number to speak with someone personally and they have not responded. Additionally, please note, I did not take the course. When the charge came thru, I exited out of the link and contacted them and did not go back into any of there courses. So I am filing this complaint.
I am attaching my welcome letter for the 4 week trial as confirmation of my sign up date and email communication with them.

Shaw Academy offered in a phone call for the payment of US$99.95 all courses, diplomas, certificates, toolkits (3 month period) but no response.
On July 9, 2020 I recieved a phone call from Muraad L from Shaw Academy. He made me an offer for USD $99.95 that included all courses, toolkits, certificates, back to back classes and invitation to 3 friends that for no extra fee would get the same benefits.
He also mentioned that the phone call was being recorded and that I could request it anytime. I already requested this recording and I haven't recieved it yet.
It's been 10 days since the payment was done and I cannot see this benefit reflected on my profile, neither the response from Muraad or Shaw Academy regarding this complaint.

Account charged even though I cancelled/paused which was the only options that I could understand. No human available at phone number provided!
When I signed up for this unlimited free four week trial I found I could not attend at my own speed and tried to cancel. The cancellation is in an almost endless loop of sales pitches and offers. All I wanted was a simple cancelation and when you tried online you were told to call the number to speak with a Student Advisor which there is none You only get a robot who spends 15 minutes non stop that you are so confused as to what you need to do and being 67 I was so frustrated. I ended up calling at least four times and thought the situation was resolved with a pause on my trial which it said it was until I could actually talk to a human. What I got instead was a charge on my account which is what I was afraid would happen. Upon contacting them of course they say the trial wasnt cancelled and they charged me and there is no refund but offered courses instead which I DID NOT WANT IN THE FIRST PLACE after realizing that there is no real customer support just refund my money. I have emails proving I didnt take the courses from them and because they had no student advisor at that number they should honor my request for a refund. The whole thing is a scam that I want no parts of. I have attached an invoice that was on my account that shows I OWE NOTHING UNTIL JULY 25TH and yet my account was charged 10 days before that.

I canceled my free trial within the time given. But they charged me anyway.
I used a free trial for Shaw Academy and canceled within a couple of days. I did not receive confirmation so I reached out again regarding the cancelation and I was told that my account was canceled and there will be no charges. I now have a pending charge and when I reached out to them I was told I did not cancel and thus the charge will stand.

Dated July 21,2020, I decided to sign up for free to shaw academy for I want to attend to their free courses as advertised. Upon creating an account, I was required to provide my card details stating that they will not charged me upon registering. I was shocked when I already enrolled and saw many payments to be made before I can start a course which clearly contradicts to the statement they first made during advertisement that it was free. As I was browsing the site I accidentaly click the buy the module 1 certificate which automatically credited to my card. I am requesting for a refund but they have no response. I am also requesting to cancel my subscription but they are requiring to call them first.

Took money out of my account when I cancelled it that day.
I signed up for a 4 week trail and I tried going to the class and it wouldn't work I tried everything the app wouldn't work either and I didn't really have any help at all I tried for two days and it didn't work so I cancelled my account and it took money out and I email for a refund and haven't really had any help with this issue.

I have enrolled in courses for free trail but money deducted for e-certificate which I didnt get nor needed without completing course. Refund needed!!
Firstly I trusted the website and got enrolled for project management course on 20th July 2020 and there were many one click purchases(you do not realise money will be deducted for that click) which I didn't realise until today after money got deducted. Firstly I or any academy expects the students to finish the course and give tests and then gain certification. It seems Shaw Academy has charged me with E certificate module purchase and charged me 39euros from my debit card WITHOUT even starting the course and when questioned they are sending me a bill mentioning that I requested for it and also "I DIDNT RECIEVE ANY CERTIFICATE" for the charged money also.
I expect to have certificate only after I complete my course, take tests and then want certification and not paid certificate which is of no use to me and my intention was not to pay for any kind of certification. I only joined the website/courses as I saw it was a 4 week free trail and want to spend my time learning new things.
I do not need any certifcate and I want my money back.
They do not have any contact details mentioned on their website to call them directly and speak to them to reslove the issues.

I signed up for the free four weeks described as having full access to all classes at any time for the duration of the four weeks. When attempting to access the first class after the class was over requiring me to unlock Module 1 a screen popped up describing what Module one entails while at NO point informing me it would in fact cancel my 4 week trial and charge my card IMMEDIATELY until after I clicked unlock. Telling me after the fact that the company had charged my card without ever asking permission or even mentioning a payment being necessary to do what the free trial describes. This is THEFT. Do not give this company a chance to scam you.

I would like to request a refund. I believe I've been charged unfairly and without proper instructions regarding their package.
I received a call concerning my ongoing classes, which were based on a one-month free trial. The person on the phone was explaining an offer and said she'll send an email. I dismissed it as a marketing call, and still assumed I would have the option to give my consent to go forward with the plan when she sends the email (which she said she will send immediately and will be there to assist me). Her instructions were quite unclear too. However, as soon as the call ended I was charged immediately and neither did I receive any email regarding the offer as promised. I'm not interested in the plan and I sent them an email as soon as possible to cancel it. I also cancelled the membership on their website immediately. I want a refund and do not wish to receive any services from them.

Signed up for service, realized couldn't fit in scheduled. Cancelled same day, received confirmation. Account remained active, charged me; wont refund
I signed up for the service in early June. I thought this was an online "at your own pace" type of learning service, but they had a schedule which did not fit my schedule. So I cancelled immediately, it took me through like a 3-4 page cancellation process confirming I wanted to cancel. I assumed that was the end of it. I received a charge to my account July 16th, and logged in and noticed my account still said active. I notified them of the circumstances, and they were unwilling to process a refund. They have "cancelled"my account although it doesn't show as cancelled, it just shows as "non-renewing". Which, in theory, I'd accept as a cancellation but I do not trust this company. Reading reviews, I'm not the only person this has occurred to. I just want my refund and to assure I will not be charged again. I've literally never used the service due to thinking the cancellation process I completed was valid.

Such a SCAM - STAY AWAY! These con artists lure you in with a promise of a free trial - but watch out, IT'S NOT FREE! You will accidentally give them money, they won't deliver what has been promised, they make it extremely difficult to cancel... I'm fighting with them to try to get a refund and I want to run FAR AWAY from these criminals. Make sure you don't give them any of your information, and if you do (as many of us have) you will need to email them incessantly to have your information removed from their databases... So frustrating. DON'T FALL FOR IT!!!

Despite cancelling my subscription Shaw academy have still billed me 3 months later.
I signed up for a free trial with Shaw academy on the 13 May 20. The trial required bank details but mentioned if you cancel before the end of the trial you will not be billed.
On the 14 May 20 I rang up Shaw academy to cancel. Despite the colleague trying to extend my free trial and offer other packages I refused and was told that my account was cancelled and no payments would be taken.
On the 16th July over 2 months later an unauthorised payment was taken from my account of 49.99 with no invoice or email stating my account was re open.
Despite multiple calls to Shaw academy at the start where I emphasised my desire to cancel my subscription they have still charged me.
It has now got to the point where I have had to involve my bank.
I want a refund for the services I have never used and requested to be cancelled over 2 months ago. To the amount of 49.99

I have asked abou my refund and corresponded with Gomes who was very unhelpful. And Shane who kept saying to send him transactions but didnt respond
I got charged 69.99 on June 25th for a months membership fee even though I am not registered in the school database. I tried tell them that my email is not registered but Gomes said that I was and had to follow penal code... and cancel. How am I suppose to cancel something their system has no record of. Gomes said my email was registered after I emailed him 3 times and Shane who said will issue the refund never responded back after I sent my bank statement for the transaction number. Shane also said he couldn't find my email address registered so I have no idea who to trust.
I would finally like to talk or correspond to someone who will and who has the uthority to issue a refund. They stopped answering once I emailed my transaction number and bank statement showing the proof of the charge.

Shaw Academy took money from my account without my permission, admitted they had a technical error on their side and then didn't refund me.
On the 23rd of May, I was debited $69.99 out of my account for Shaw Academy's nutrition course. I was only doing it for the 4 week free trial and forgot to cancel my account so I was a bit taken aback from this transaction out of my account. I emailed them and rightfully they said that I had signed up for that by agreeing to process my card details originally. Because I seemed confused in the email, they offered me a 6 month subscription for free. I was happy about this since I now could get more out of my $69.99. However, on the 28th of June 2020, I was debited another $69.99 out of my account even though the person (they did not write their name on the first email) said I was given a 6 month free membership. My ID Number for this email is #XXXXXXX. I had to email twice to get a response from another person, Vadik, saying that there was a "technical glitch", the 6 month membership was not active and that was why I was charged. On Vadiks email he wrote, "Sorry to let you know that a refund is not possible." I had not bought nor used their services again and so I have been charged without my permission- I believe this is called stealing. I simply ask to be compensated for that money.

This company advertises a free 4-week trial to their program and then makes it nearly impossible to cancel the subscription.
I signed up for Shaw Academy because they were advertising a free 4 week trial covering a project management course. After signing up and taking the first 3 courses I realized that the "Classes" were pretty well useless. You could learn more from free online sources or books. In the first few days Shaw Academy drove me to the breaking point when they started spamming me with pop up advertisements at every stage of clicking through their website and then calling, texting, and emailing me all night long to "remind" me about my "class" that was in 3 days. I had to call to be removed from their contact list to stop getting spam calls in the middle of the night. I then attempted to cancel the trial period, but was told I needed to cancel later in the trial period. Now two days before the end of the trial period I attempted to cancel the trial online so that I am not charged $60 a month for a worthless set of videos. Upon attempting to cancel I was sent on a wild goose chase of "more affordable options" even though the link suggested it was routing me to cancel my trial. More than 5 windows of rerouting ads later, I was finally dropped off at a landing page that says I cannot cancel the trial online and that I have to call in during business hours to cancel. This is absolutely ridiculous. If these individuals actually believed they were selling a good and ethical product they would not make it nearly impossible to cancel subscriptions. I will be sure to spread this information across my networks to prevent others from being scammed by such a terrible and worthless company.
Cancel my trial period and subscription immediately and DO NOT charge me for the worthless information you are trying to sell.

I signed up for a free 4 week trial on July 7, 2020 and on July 12, 2020 they charged my account for $69.99. I requested a refund but they refused
I signed up for a free 4 week trial for an online course on July 7, 2020 and my first session was to start on the July 12, 2020. When I clicked on the link to the session, I was immediately charged $69.99 on my debit card (i get a notification on my phone when a transaction occurs on my account). I immediately sent them an email letting them know I have a 4 week trial and was charges in error. They respond with their standard terms & conditions and indicated that I was beyond my free trial. Which clearly I am not. I sent a couple of additional responses to them and they just say that they don't give refunds. In my last email to them, I requested a phone number to speak with someone personally and they have not responded. Additionally, please note, I did not take the course. When the charge came thru, I exited out of the link and contacted them and did not go back into any of there courses. So I am filing this complaint.
I am attaching my welcome letter for the 4 week trial as confirmation of my sign up date and email communication with them.
I want a refund of their charge in the amount of $69.99.

Shaw Academy offered in a phone call for the payment of US$99.95 all courses, diplomas, certificates, toolkits (3 month period) but no response.
On July 9, 2020 I recieved a phone call from Muraad L from Shaw Academy. He made me an offer for USD $99.95 that included all courses, toolkits, certificates, back to back classes and invitation to 3 friends that for no extra fee would get the same benefits.
He also mentioned that the phone call was being recorded and that I could request it anytime. I already requested this recording and I haven't recieved it yet.
It's been 10 days since the payment was done and I cannot see this benefit reflected on my profile, neither the response from Muraad or Shaw Academy regarding this complaint.
I am requesting full refund for all payments made to Shaw Academy and my membership cancellation.

Account charged even though I cancelled/paused which was the only options that I could understand. No human available at phone number provided!
When I signed up for this unlimited free four week trial I found I could not attend at my own speed and tried to cancel. The cancellation is in an almost endless loop of sales pitches and offers. All I wanted was a simple cancelation and when you tried online you were told to call the number to speak with a Student Advisor which there is none You only get a robot who spends 15 minutes non stop that you are so confused as to what you need to do and being 67 I was so frustrated. I ended up calling at least four times and thought the situation was resolved with a pause on my trial which it said it was until I could actually talk to a human. What I got instead was a charge on my account which is what I was afraid would happen. Upon contacting them of course they say the trial wasnt cancelled and they charged me and there is no refund but offered courses instead which I DID NOT WANT IN THE FIRST PLACE after realizing that there is no real customer support just refund my money. I have emails proving I didnt take the courses from them and because they had no student advisor at that number they should honor my request for a refund. The whole thing is a scam that I want no parts of. I have attached an invoice that was on my account that shows I OWE NOTHING UNTIL JULY 25TH and yet my account was charged 10 days before that.
I want my money refunded back to my account and my account cancelled immediately.

I used a free trial for Shaw Academy and canceled within a couple of days. I did not receive confirmation so I reached out again regarding the cancelation and I was told that my account was canceled and there will be no charges. I now have a pending charge and when I reached out to them I was told I did not cancel and thus the charge will stand.
