This company is so terrible in their desire to get and keep your money no matter what. I wanted to cancel before the end of my trial but was unable to login to my account from computer or phone. I had to send numerous emails back and fourth trying to fix the issue before I could finally get in, and even tried turning my bank card off temporarily, but they still charged me anyways. And then refused to refund my money, and on top of that with their crazy one click purchase I accidentally ended up giving them even more money because it doesn't even ask you to verify your purchase or anything. Yet it's so difficult to cancel and they give you the runaround trying to make you feel better by giving you so called free stuff, but you can't even access the "free" stuff without paying more money. Fraudulent and scammy as all get out DO NOT PURCHASE
This company is just horrible. When I signed up, they informed me that I could cancel anytime easily online. I registered, for their "free 30 day trial"(which is actually 28 days), then then asked me to pay $33 just to get materials that Should come with the class, Including slides. They then made it so that I could only go on, at a certain time of day twice a week, instead of leaving it open ended like other online classes. I then tried to cancel online where it sent me from page to page offering items, telling me they'd hate for me to go, til it sent me to a final screen with a phone number to call to cancel with. I then emailed them 3 different times, telling them I wanted to cancel, they responded back saying that I wouldn't want to cancel and that they would extend my membership for another 30 days. I wrote them and told them I would report them if they didn't cancel me. They didn't respond after that. They also are not accredited. Horrible SCAM!
Refund for the Toolkit I have never bought and which is a fraudulent one click purchase on the page
I have signed up for a 30 day trial period on June 3, 2020. The same day I was charged 29.99$ for a toolkit that I did not want and did not intend to buy. It is apparently a one click purchase option which just randomly appears on the screen and you can accidentally touch it. The charge is labeled as a pre-authorized purchase, although I have never authorized it. I was not even considering to buy this product and never accessed it. I have immediately asked for refund numerous times, but they just kept offering me additional courses, diplomas, etc. which I have made clear I am not interested in (I was speaking with Vadik - customer rep). I have already cancelled the subscription and I ask for refund for something I did not buy and never used.
Desired Outcome
I am seeking just a refund for a product I have not bought and never used. The price is 29.99$. The payment should be made back to my ban account, this is all I am asking.

Hi ***,
I have reviewed your account and would like to confirm that we have charged £39.95 for the purchase (Toolkit for Professional Diploma in Social Media Marketing Module 1) you made via our one click purchase option. As per our Terms and Condition mentioned to you during the registration this is a non refundable charge, however as a good will gesture I have initiated a refund which will be credited back to the source in next 3-5 business days.

Hi ***,
We have checked your account and would like to inform you that the refund for an amount of EUR 29,95 has been successfully refunded as on 22 June. Please see the below transaction details.
I cancelled my free trial. However, the company still charged me twice and did not want to refund at all.
I cancelled my free trial and received a cancellation confirmation by email. However, the company still charged me on June 14, 2020 at $69.99. I was not sure why the payment was processed, so I contacted them on June 15, 2020. A customer representative, Ganeve said that the payment cannot be reversed and I was asked to contact their billing department. She also said another payment will not be charged and kept offering free service.
On June 15, 2020, the company charged me again at $45.99. As soon as I found out the payment, I contacted the company by emails and phone calls. Nikolas, another customer representative replied the email and said again they cannot reverse the payments. Today (June 18, 2020) I spoke with Carlos and he said he is not able to process the refund. I just called my credit card company to dispute the charges.
Desired Outcome
I would like to get the refund of the two payments which are $69.99 and $45.99. Also, I would like my membership cancelled and the company will not charge me in the future.

I accidentally clicked on a link and was automatically charged $35 for something I will not use, did not open or download. They refuse to refund me.
I accidentally clicked on a link and was automatically charged, no warning or confirmation. The link allows me to download information for the course I signed up for, when I signed up for a free trial. I've reached out to them every day since June 4 and they refuse to refund the money. They cancelled my free 30-day trial, but said they will not refund my money because it says so in the fine print. I think this is a scam, because there was no warning or confirmation that I was about to be charged.
As I stated, I've emailed them everyday, sometimes twice a day asking and pleading for them to return my money.
Nothing!
Desired Outcome
I simply want my $35 refund for something I did not open, download, or use. I will never use it and do not want a credit.

Thank you for the refund. I will be more careful next time.
I had issues with my account so Shaw offered me an extra 30 days free on May 26th and then charged me anyway. When I asked to be refunded they refuse
When I signed up for my trial membership I had issues with the account. I received an email from "Marcas" a repressive at Shaw on May 26th and he offered me an extra 30 days free toward my membership for the hassle. However, then I was charged $69.99 two weeks later anyway. When I emailed again asking for a refund I was told by "Vaughan" at Shaw that they wouldn't be giving me my money back. Instead they wanted me to apply for more classes and I would receive a credit.
This isn't how you should do business. You shouldn't lie to your customers and refuse to give a refund just to get them to take more classes. To this day I've still never taken ANY class through Shaw Academy. Even the photography class I was originally enrolled in- I never attended any of the classes.
All I want is my money back.
Screenshots of the emails proving all of this are included.
Desired Outcome
I want my money refunded ($69.99).
I was offered the additional 30 days free on May 26th and shouldn't ever have been charged on June 15th.

Hi ***,
We would like to apologize for your recent experience and also assure you that we will have this investigated and straightened ASAP. Well that being said we have initiated a refund, which will be credited back to the source within the next 3-5 business days.
I got charged for free 4week trial and unwanted additional services.
On the 11th of June, 2020 I came across with Facebook ad for free 4 week course in Graphic Design by Shaw Academy. After I clicked on the link I was required to provide my card details. I submitted the information required for the course registration. I checked my online account on the same day and found that I was charged 24.99 euro and 29.95 euro by Shaw Academy. I contacted the service provider on the same day asking for the refund as I was put off from using the services due to misleading and deceiving marketing practices. Shaw Academy declined my refund request not acknowledging their deceiving marketing practices. Shaw Academy support team strategy is to manipulate people by ignoring the fact of unlawful transaction but instead offering additional so called free perks and bonuses. After downloading Shaw Academy app I realized that app features are not suitable for muly needs and that I have no grounds to continue to use the services. I would like to emphasize the fact that my decision to quit was made within the same day after I clicked the Facebook ad. I believe I have the right to claim my money back as the service was initially adertised as free 4week trial. I had no intention to pay for it.
Desired Outcome
I look for the full refund of 24.99 and 29.95 euro.

Website purposefully misleads with ambiguous information about 12 month plan and now won't offer refund
I had signed up for a free trial (you have to provide banking details when you sign up for the free trial) and with time left to go I was looking at the plan options to continue after the trial of which there were 3 membership options available for 3, 6 and 12 months. I'd like to call out that everywhere else on their website they do (however in very small font as if trying to hide it) cite where items are a one-click purchase (for toolkits etc) so they teach you to look out for that but there was nothing like that cited on this page so when I clicked on the 12 month membership option I was fully expecting some form of confirmation checkout screen where I would be able to review a summary of what I was purchasing and what payment would be taken etc that I could then review and agree to or abandon and go back and look at one of the other options - but instead I was greeted with confirmation that a once off payment for the full 12 months (199.95) had just been taken from my paypal account.
I was not aware that the subscription was a once off payment for all 12 months, their website was very misleading in making it appear to be a monthly premium that would be debited, even stating the monthly amount of "16.66p/m" which they focus user attention on by presenting it (misleadingly) as primary content with central proximity in the largest font compared to other information about that option.
I immediately attempted to contact them via their number on my paypal transaction however that line had a messaging system advising the number was not in service, I then emailed them and have been in a back and forth exchange where I have been advised that they are "sorry that you have misunderstood the offer." but they do no issue refunds
Desired Outcome
I would like a full refund for 199.95 Euro's

Hi ***,
We are sorry that you had to go through this entire ordeal. We wish we could do something about this however we do not have any access to that payment hence we are unable to refund. This has to be fixed from Itunes end.
The company is a scam trying to take money from people and not offering the full service which is advertised.
I started the shaw academy Graphic design course in March on a one month free trial.
I enjoyed module 1 so much that I signed up to pay a monthly fee in order to complete all 4 modules.
Everything was fine and I payed a total 49.99 in order to complete 3 out of the 4 modules.
My next payment came out (another 49.99) and I began module 4.
In my first lesson I realised I suddenly had a new teacher, different to the teacher I had for the first 3 modules.
It does state on the shaw academy website that there may be different teachers throughout the course so I continued with the lesson.
I soon felt lost in the lesson as the teacher seemed to know everyone else in the class, mentioning people by name. He also referred to certain things as "like we learnt last week" and "remember when I taught you this" and I found it very confusing.
I also noticed that the course outline for module 4 had completely changed, and many of the lessons scheduled would be a repetition of what I had already previously learnt.
I raised my concerns with the customer service team of shaw academy and stated that I find the change in teacher very confusing and the fact that I will be repeating lessons rather than learning new skills. They responded
"We had to roll out the updated version of the module keeping in mind the industry requirement, market trends and skills required in the near future. Hence there is a change in educator for module 4"
So I accepted this and began my second lesson. This was a 'review' lesson where students had previously submitted their work and the teacher gave them a critique. This confused me further as I had never before been asked to submit my work, and I also had no prior knowledge of having to create any of these things. I then noticed that the date on the teachers computer screen was 2017.
I contacted shaw academy again and questioned how this is them "rolling out an updated version" seeing as though this is a 3 year old lesson.
I received a response in which they admitted that there is no module 4 as it has not yet been finalised. I then told them I was disgusted by the fact that they lied to me, that I have spent time and money on this course that I now cannot complete. I also stated that they should make other students aware that module 4 does not exist. I explained that I have paid 99.98 plus I pay almost 90 a month for adobe in order to complete the course.
I requested to know an estimate of when module 4 would be available and I also requested a refund of 49.99 as I am not able to learn anything new and receive my diploma until module 4 is available.
In their response to this they offered me 3 months free subscription but gave no answer to anything else I had stated.
I then told them I still want a refund because why should I pay for something I can't use. And I also need to know a rough idea of the release of module 4. If they will not release it until next year then the 3 months free are worth nothing.
In response they simply answered "I am sorry, we cannot issue a refund"
I simply would like my money back as I feel that I should not have to pay for something that does not exist.
I would like to be given a real apology about the massive lies they told to try and get away with their behaviour and they should be held accountable for scamming students in this way.
I just want to be able to complete the course and gain my diploma.
Desired Outcome

I answered an Ad on Facebook by Shaw Academy for a Free Excel Course. I did not realise at the time of signing up that it was a subscription service.
I have been made aware that a free excel course that I signed up for in April (but could not access) was in a subscription service. I responded to an ad I saw on Facebook for a free Excel Course. I did not realise it was a free trial. When I signed up to the course, I thought that entering payment details were just a formality. I have had this with other course providers who have offered a free course during Covid-19 and have not experienced any issues with those courses.
I was not able to access my account after signing up so was not even been able to complete the course at the time. I though nothing of it because it was free.
Since finding out about the money leaving my account I have repeatedly requested a refund from Shaw, but they are refusing due to me agreeing to the terms and conditions when signing up.
As I have repeatedly explained, I did not see the terms and conditions when signing up, this was not made clear at all at the time of signing up and the Ad was misleading in the fact that it was advertising a free excel course during Covid-19.
I have since found out that even if I had tried to cancel this free trial, I would most likely have been charge anyway as this is a common complaint that is being voiced countless times on Trust Pilot.
Their own CEO has now been quoted in an article about this in the Guardian saying: "Our refund policies are far more flexible than almost all B2C business-to-consumer subscription providers, ie, we refund even when users have not cancelled."
However, I am constantly being refused my request for a refund for a course I didn't even complete as I was unable to access my account (and still can't)
I think that this company is trading practices completely unethical. They hide one click purchases in their text and make it impossible for you challenge them.
Desired Outcome
I wish for my money to be refunded in full.

I was charged to my PayPal account by on June 1, 2020 by Shaw Academy. I have never used their services nor do I ever plan to use their services. I immediately contacted them about a refund, they responded within 24 hours stating they couldn't find my account. They asked me for more details. 4 days pass *** and no response. I reach out to paypal, they asked me to reach out the Shaw Acedemy. I contact them again on June 4, and I still have yet to hear back from that email.
I reached out again June 12, this time posting on their Facebook page (Since then they have removed my post and prevent me from posting on their page). I also emailed 3 different email addresses. Finally got a response this morning saying they will cancel my services.
I am happy they cancelled a service that I never signed up for nor used but I want a refund.

I tried to cancel my trial before the fee trial ended without using their services once. Only to find out my card had been charged.
During quarantine being stuck at home with nothing to do I saw an ad from shaw academy and decided to sign up and give it a try. There is a 4 week free trial period and I tried to cancel before this period ended and I thought that I did and my membership was cancelled at that point only to find out a few days ago that I have been charged 50 for services that I didn't even use. Understandably I was very annoyed to see this and when I checked to see if I my membership Was cancelled it still said I was an active member so I tried cancelling again and it brought me to a page saying I need to call the company to cancel my membership which dies t even work. I emailed the company asking for a refund and they replied giving me useless offers I do not need what I need is my full refund back they can check and see that I did not once use any of their services. I need this money very badly the times we are in it's very hard to find a place hiring people of my age group.
Desired Outcome

Complaint for a system that can't be cancelled even if it wants to.
Problem Date: About the middle of the May
Model Number: Shawacademy 4weeks Free Trial
Order Number: NO
Account Number: ***@gmail.com (Not sure)
Payment Amount: $130(CAD)
Payment method: PayPal
After applying for a 4-week free courses, errors frequently occurred while listening to the courses, so I made another ID account and tried it, but I had to go through the same problem. I didn't want to extend the courses any longer after 4 weeks because it was different from what I thought. So I tried to cancel before 4 weeks passed, but I forgot the ID I made at first, so I couldn't cancel it. I tried calling and mailing the Academy several times to cancel, but they never responded. After such a free period, I made two IDs, so I paid twice. After checking the payment details, I called and emailed them, finally they said that I could not give them a refund because it was my fault that I couldn't cancel it within that period. Even though I didn't use any video services related to the Shawacademy, they insisted on their own rules and saw the photographs and materials of the evidence I presented, they just ignored me. I've tried and tried to cancel it over and over again and there's clearly a fault with them for not responding properly to it. In the end, they took only money from me. There must be a lot of people who lost money unjustly for the same reason as me. They are making money from innocent people in this way.
Desired Outcome
I just really want my money back that I had to pay unjustly. They're just saying they can't give me a refund, but I can not accept it. The only thing I want from them is a refund. They told me to sue if I wanted to get a refund. I think if I don't get a refund, I'm going to have to a real sue. I know how complex and time-consuming the process is. So I really want to get a refund through here. Please.

The day after being billed I finally got through to a representative. I believe this company intentionally place students on extended hold, to deter them from canceling their subscription.
Desired Outcome
I would like to be refunded the amount that was deducted from my account.

Hi ***,
We are sorry that you had to go through this entire ordeal. Please be assured that your account has been deactivated and we have initiated a refund which will be credited back to the source in next 3- 5 business days. Please let us know if there is anything else you need assistance with.
I signed up for a 28-day free trial for a course. 12 days later I was charged the monthly fee ($34.99). When I asked for a refund I was told they do not offer refunds but that they would add free access to their entire site. When I told them I didn't want access to the site, but a refund they stated they were unable to offer refunds.
I also received an email that said I purchased a $39.95 "Toolkit for Module 1". Every time you go to a watch a lesson for the course there is an ad that asks if you'd like to purchase the toolkit and offers "one click purchase". I did not want to purchase the toolkit because I was still previewing the first 2 lessons to see if I wanted to continue.
When I contacted customer service to inquire they told me that I had purchased the kit (they could see on the back side of the account that I had in fact clicked the "one click purchase" for the toolkit. I told them that if I had intended to purchase the toolkit I would have accessed and downloaded it but they could see that it had never been downloaded or accessed.
I requested a refund for that too but again they said they couldn't refund anything and would instead give me my diploma, etc. for free. Ugh.
So now I'm out $74.94 from a "free trial"....doesn't sound like free, does it. Plus what a shifty business to have a "one click purchase" that doesn't have any kind of verification in case the button is pushed by mistake....and then not to honor a refund if the material is not even accessed. Then in addition to get charged the monthly subscription free while still in the "free trial" period. What a sham.
Product_Or_Service: I signed up for a free trial of a course
Desired Outcome
Refund
I would like the $34.99 and the $39.95 charges reversed or refunded. They keep offering to add more "value" and free courses etc. but I didn't like the course that I was previewing supposedly in the "free trial" and I don't want the items in the toolkit that supposedly I purchased with "one click". I haven't accessed or downloaded them. They have no value to me. I want the refund.

I very vividly remember cancelling my account only to find out my account was still active.
I very vividly remember cancelling my account only to find out my account was still active. I was charged $70 and told I could not get a refund because I didn't do it a day before. The $70 put me in the negatives in my account + an overdraft fee from my bank. As I told them, we are in the midst of a pandemic and I don't have a job nor do I have any money now. They told me that I was to be given 6 months of free classes as if that would feed me and my family. This company is very unprofessional, and insincere especially considering the times we are in.
Desired Outcome
I would like a refund.

Hi ***,
We would like to apologize for your recent experience.
I confirm your membership is cancelled and the refund will be reaching your account in 4-5 business days.
Please be assured that you will not be charged way forward.

Nothing!
I simply want my $35 refund for something I did not open, download, or use. I will never use it and do not want a credit.
Hi ***,
We're sorry to know you were less than satisfied with Shaw Academy. I have reviewed your account as well as gone through your comments. We would like to bring to your attention that the amount that has been debited from your account is for purchase (Toolkit for Professional Diploma in Graphic Design Module 1) you made via our one click purchase option. The single click purchase process is mentioned clearly in the terms and condition that you initially agreed to. As per our policies we usually do not refund this charge, however as a good will gesture I have initiated a refund which will be credited back to the source in next 3-5 business days.

I would like a full refund for 199.95 Euro's

I wish for my money to be refunded in full.

I have been requesting a refund for about 3 weeks and if they respond, they can't find my account but I was charged.
I just want a refund of this unauthorized charged for services never authorized.

I'm seeking a full refund very plain and simple they don't lose out on anything as I did not use their services.

Please.
Hi ***,
I have reviewed your account associated with email ID "***@gmail.com", and would like let you know that the refund has already been processed 3rd & 8th June. PFA for more details and let us if any further assistance needed.

Because, I didn't get back all of my money. I alredy explained that I made two accounts. I just got back refundment about one account. So, I want to get back refundment about other account. I atteched some evidences below. It shows that I paied money to Shawacademy but, they just ignore that. In this case how can I satisfied this solution? I know you are great helping me. I looking forward for my another refund which Shaw Academy charged me.
They charged me for a tool kit $34 which was never in my use .
Looking forward for my another refund.
Hi ***,
The refund was initiated for both the charges (AUD 34.95 & AUD 69.99). Please let us know if any further assistance needed.
Regards,
Shaw Academy.
I was billed for a class that I tried to cancel.
I signed up for a photography class. The free trial was 4 weeks. I attempted numerous times to cancel my membership, but I was never able to speak to a representative. The day after being billed I finally got through to a representative. I believe this company intentionally place students on extended hold, to deter them from canceling their subscription.
I would like to be refunded the amount that was deducted from my account.

Refund I would like the $34.99 and the $39.95 charges reversed or refunded.

I would like a refund.
Hi ***,
We would like to apologize for your recent experience.
I confirm your membership is cancelled and the refund will be reaching your account in 4-5 business days.
Please be assured that you will not be charged way forward.
