Shaw charged me $39.95 for a certificate I didn't approve of and refuses to provide a refund.
Shaw Academy uses unethical and unlawful tactics to charge their customers. I went to check the price of a promotion they were offering which was hidden. I clicked to see it, but was immediately routed to a "processing" pop-up. It never processed and had a loop animation for a long time, and had no way to cancel the transaction. I exited the site as it was glitched, and was immediately charged for the "certificate" I didn't approve. No confirmation email, but I set payment notifications on my phone and noticed they charged me. They have many pop-ups and promotions on their page, it would not be a surprise to me if others have accidentally clicked on something and have been charged without knowing. They have a Paypal loophole where Paypal see it as an authorized purchase because of how they require a payment method to join their free trial,so I was not able to get a refund through a dispute. Don't let this unethical business practice continue to run this way. Shaw Academy LLC. please stop hurting people, it will only hurt you.Thank you.

The company decided to refund me.
Paid for full membership but my account features are still locked and I was charged for a feature after membership payment.
I have really enjoyed Shaw Academy photography course so as I came to the end of my free trial I purchased a full membership for 3 months for 99, straight after this I also got charged 29.95 for an e cert which was clearly meant to be included in my deal. Then I soon realised my membership hadn't changed at all it still wanted me to pay for ecert, toolkits and hard copy which are all included in my deal. I immediately contacted Shaw Academy and it took a while to get reply I was unable to be refunded my 29.95 so instead the agent unlocked all my ecerts (which I believe I was already untitled to) but everything else is still locked and wants me to pay my toolkits and hard copy. It's such a shame their courses are amazing but the service is disappointing. I am still waiting over a week after payment for my features to be unlocked.
Desired Outcome
I have a right to my 29.95 back as the ecert was meant to be included. I am happy to pay my 99 for all my features but if my account is not unlocked i would like all my money refunded which would be a shame cause i am really enjoying the courses. The features locked are toolkits and hard copy certs.

Hi ***,
I have reviewed your account and assume that our support team have provided you a satisfying resolution. Please let us know if there is anything else you need assistance with.
I have repeatedly requested a refund for services I was charged for which I never used as part of a scammy "free 4-week trial" and haven't gotten it.
This company seems to be an absolute scam and I just want my money back and to never deal with them again. Here is what happened: I vaguely remembered signing up for a free 4-week marketing class trial online from Shaw Academy weeks and week ago, but I never actually used the trial, and furthermore, the company never sent me an email warning I was about to be charged, or even reminders about logging in to enjoy the free trial. Furthermore, they tried to charge me on a recurring monthly basis, something I NEVER signed up for!
When I saw my Paypal had been charged for the full amount of $69.99 on June 5, I went through the steps of trying to resolve it through Paypal and heard nothing back. I don't really believe anyone is at the helm of either the email they listed there (***@shawacademy.com) nor at their phone number (Shaw Academy UK+XXX XXXXXXXXX). When I went to their website and finally remembered which email I had used to login, it's virtually impossible to find out how to cancel. Then when my husband and I went to my Paypal account, we saw that what I had thought was a one-time charge of $69.99 would now be charged MONTHLY. Let me be clear: I would NEVER have signed up for this had I known it was going to be $69.99 per month!! So I deleted the payment from my Paypal scheduling, and now I just want my refund. Furthermore, I have attached the ID proof from my Resolution Center in Paypal. They have yet to contact Paypal back regarding my claim.
I feel their marketing practices are purposefully misleading, and their customer service seems to be nonexistent. Furthermore, the number I tried calling today that I Googled (supposedly located in Nashua, XXX-XXX-XXXX) isn't even a real connected number.
So here is the email I just sent to them at ***@shawacademy.com with the pdf that I have also attached here:
Hello,
Per the instructions I found on your website, I'm requesting a refund of the free trial membership that I never once used and feel was misled into. I believe this is the email I must have used to sign up for the membership, and attached are the screenshots you requested that prove you charged me via my papyal (which was linked to my bank account). I have also attached a screenshot of the resolution center request I lodged with Paypal immediately upon learning my account had been charged for something I never used, case id PP-D-XXXXXXXX.
I expect a prompt call back please, or at least receipt of your receiving this email and my money refunded.
Revdex.com, please help me to get their attention so I can get my money back. Thank you
Desired Outcome
I want my money refunded in full, and I want them to remove my contact information completely.

They finally refunded me.
After attempting to cancel my account the week I joined and not having anyone answer my calls, I have been charged $69.99 unjustly.
I had tested the services of the web development class and was unsatisfied after the first week and went ahead and cancelled my account with the assurance that I would not be charged. However, I kept receiving emails about classes so checked and saw they had not cancelled so I tried again and called with no answer, and the issue has continued to this day, June 12th, 2020. I have now received a charge for $69.99 that should have never been billed and am furious that no representative has answered my calls. I demand a refund and want away from this awful company. Issue my full refund and cancel my membership!
Desired Outcome
I want a full refund of the $69.99 charged to my bank account and want to be able to speak to a customer service representative with issues about why my cancellations was not processed.

I've signed up for a 4 week free course in Shaw academy but they charged me their usual price for that.
On the 12 of June, I decided to sign up for a free course in Shaw Academy but they charge me for it giving me no refund. On top of that they have this one click purchase that if you click on it, it automatically takes your money from your account which most peoplr have accidentally clicked. I've sent them an email but they wouldnt give me a refund saying that they would provide for me free certs for the rest of the modules but when I checked, there was nothing free. I'm a student and would really like my money back. It was my part time working money that I'm saving up

I signed up for the free trial. I called to cancel after a few days of the trial and they did not cancel it for me. My card was charged.
I signed up for the free trial. After a few days of my trial, on May 15, I went on the website to cancel it. It said I have to call in to cancel, so I called to cancel and they did not cancel it for me. They tried to upsell me other products instead, and turns out they just added some sort of certificate to my account instead of cancelling. I tried to reach out via email to cancel and never got a response. My card was charged. I followed up to get a refund and they refused to refund me. The only time I used their service was when I watched a class recording for about 5 minutes before closing it. I never used the service again after that.
Desired Outcome
Refund the charge of $69.99 to my card.

To resolve free unlock offer, which they charged me. offered to unlock 3 more exams free. After spending a week with customer service I was charged.
Offered 3 free unlocks on May 18th, to make up for previous free unlock(where they unlocked an exam I already paid and took, basically doing nothing since already charged) and for the horrendous experience I had with their course materials freezing/crashing/endless buffering.
May 20th I followed up thanking for the offer, but asking when I would expect to see the unlocked products. They responded that my issues have been forwarded to their team and that the unlock offers typically take up to 48hrs. May 23rd I took one exam at night and then 2 more the morning of May 24th.
Shortly afterwards I noticed 3 charges on my credit card. Immediately emailed Shaw Academy, and followed up or replied to them every couple days since to this date.
After the initial response being unhelpful, basically ignoring my issues and telling me the courses have been unlocked free in my account. I filed a dispute with my credit card company for these fraudulent charges.
After numerous emails detailing and requesting the fraudulent charges refunded by Shaw. Shaw has admitted that they are sorry I was charged, but they do not have ability to refund...while also stating that they see these 3 courses were unlocked on my account and I could access them free. They admit fault, but claim no responsibility. It seems like a $$$ scam to me, and their email only customer service support is horrendous. They ignore email issues and reply with ore scripted responses that ignore your issues.
Desired Outcome
They charged 3 separate fraudulent charges of $39.95. After they offered to unlock free and a week of customer service emails where they assured me I would not be charged.
They offer deals & unlocks, but then charge anyways. Refusing to refund. I had several other screenshots from email correspondence backing up my story. I also have screenshots detailing my payment history with them, showing free unlocks followed up by charges for those same free products.

I signed up for a trial. Decided that this wasn't for me and canceled my account before the charge. They have attempted to charge me twice.
There was a trial period that you could use before being charged for their services. I quickly (week or so later) realized this wasn't for me. Emailed them because there was no phone number to cancel and requested an email sent to me once canceled. I received the email so I thought my account had been canceled. Found out that my account was charged not once but twice. My bank prevented the charge due to not sufficient funds in my account. Wish there was a phone number to contact them but for any issues they prefer you email.
Desired Outcome
I do not want them to charge me OR ATTEMPT to charge again.

ShawAcademy billed me for service in trial period for product that I didn't order, give store credit for the course requiring monthly commitment.
I signed for a 4-week trial period for Graphics Design. They had an automatic bot sending a link during the course. Now I am charged $39.95. When asked for it, they were refusing to refund the money. Instead, they give $199 credit towards the course for the four modules which requires me to pay $69 per month for the duration of the four modules. I am not sure how long these four modules last. In my humble opinion, this is not acceptable.
Desired Outcome
Please request them to refund the $39.95. I am not interested in the $199 credit requiring me to commit more money.

False advertising and impossible to cancel.
I signed up for a 28 day free trial, then fifty dollars a month after the trial ends. As soon as I put my card on file, they charge me fifty cents and tell me the monthly charge is going to be Seventy dollars. Then class starts. Nobody is in there. They said it was a live class, but it's nothing but a very horrible bot and a recording of a live class. The entire set up is a scam. I want my fifty cents back. I tried to cancel and got the run around. If I get charged, I am prepared to sue. My hourly rate right now is sixty dollars an hour. I will sue them for a refund of my money (plus interest), attorney fees, my time in dealing with this nightmare of a scam, as well as the frustration involved. I am not waiting to see if I get charged before I file this, because what they have done is enough for a complaint. But because of their reputation that I only discovered too late....I thought it best to file this complaint now.
Desired Outcome
I want my fifty cents back, as well as any other funds that they will likely try to extort from me before this matter is settled.

On 06/03/20 I signed up for 4 FREE weeks.
On 06/03/20 I was charged $39.95
The payment info page says "You pay $0.00 today.
You won't be charged if you cancel before 4 weeks from today.
No commitments. Easy to cancel online at anytime.
As a reminder, We'll message you 3 days before."
I cancelled on 06/05/20 after attending a course and was not satisfied at all with the product. Even free, I didn't want it. At this point I did not realize I had already been charged.
Later the same day 06/05/20 I noticed the charge and filed a complaint (ID number #XXXXXXX). No receipt was given for a charge.
They are claiming that I purchased a ToolKit, which I did not. I didn't want it when the course was FREE and I didn't want it especially after realizing how horrible the course and communications were.
I replied on 06/08/20 to explain further and again on 06/09/20. I have not heard back from them.
Desired Outcome

I signed up for a free trial, which I attempted to cancel but they have taken the money without warning.
I signed up for a free trial of a photography course on the 12th of May 2020. They innstantly took 30p from my paypal account at which made me nervous. I attempted to close my account which I now know wasn't sucessful.
On the 9th of June (within 30 days an even 28 days) they took full payment for the course of £49.99 out of my paypal without warning. They intentionally took the money before midnight of the last day of the trial so you are tied in as soon as you are aware they are taking the money and you are unable to cancel as their phone line is office hours.
I have contacted them several times in the following days to arrange a refund to which have been ignored, however I have just been informed that I cannot have a refund due to their terms.
I can see from plenty of reviews online that this company make a habbit of this and taking money from unaware people without prior warning.
I have not used their service at all, I was lead to believe that I had canceled the account which I have since been informed that I hadn't. I have since cancelled the account after being forced to call during my own time to complete an automated message of manipulative and emotionally blackmailing language to close the account.
Desired Outcome

I feel that they had no intention of actually giving me a refund until I complaint to the Revdex.com. They have replied with a stock reply which is poor and I feel that this isnt good enough considering they made me phone up in my own time and then have a series of email conversations over the following week. They don't offer a good service, the qualifications the charge for are worthless and unncredited, they don't warn customers that their "free" trial is ending they just take the money. Then never intend to refunnd you. They should be investigated for fraud. A weak apology isn't good enough.

Hi ***,
Having checked our records, we see that you got charged as you have not cancelled it.
I have now cancelled your membership and the refund will be reaching your account in 4-5 business days.
Please be assured that you will not be charged way forward.
I was charged $69.99 by Shaw Academy: They ended my "free trial" early and without their promised warning of charges pending. I am owed a refund.
I signed up for a "free trial" with the Shaw Academy, hoping to take advantage of forced downtime to improve my SEO skills. The trial I was offered was either for "one month" or "30 days"I'd need to check. Shaw made it very clear that everyone is sent at least one reminder email that their trial will be ending before any charges are made.
The next weeks were hectic. I did not get a chance to use my Shaw Academy trial at all. I was aware my trial would be ending at some point, but I had not yet received any of the promised alerts.
Then I woke up to find I had been charged by Shaw for the next month. This was 28 days after I'd signed upso, they gave me neither 30 days nor the standard assumption of one month equalling 30 days.
I wrote to them to say I'd received no warning of charges; that they'd ended my trial early; and that I'd changed my mind about their courses and would need a refund.
They replied that they "could not" refund my money but would extend my trial for the next 6 months. This sounded reasonable. But then I Googled them and found that they have a longstanding practice of doing what they did to me. They end trials early; they make it difficult or impossible to cancel one's trial; they charge for things without making it clear that they'll be charging; etc., etc.many methods of extracting money dishonestly. And they always refuse to issue a refund.
I've seen that many others have had their issues with Shaw Academy resolved via the Revdex.com. I hope you can do the same for me. I've lost any interest in dealing with them. It's a shame, because I wanted to take classes; but this is obviously not a legitimate enterprise. It seems that they have been taking advantage of people all the more during this pandemic, which is disgusting.
Desired Outcome
I was charged $69.99 by Shaw Academy. I am owed a refund, for the reasons stated above, and that is what I want, in full. I will not use the "free" 6 months of classes they offered me, as it seems highly likely that during that time, they'd continue with their unauthorized charges.
I can provide proof of my payment, the date I signed up, the date I was charged, evidence that they promised to alert me before processing any charges, and other documentation if it is needed.

The business has finally addressed my concerns by canceling my membership with them and refunding the last payment as I had been trying to request for weeks.
During the free trial period I was charged for a product that I never purchased.
I started a 4 week Free Trial Graphic Design course with Shaw Academy LLC on June 3 & on the same day I was charged $39.95 for a digital Toolkit that I never purchased. The Toolkit offer was in the form of a popup in the member trial account & when it popped up I clicked on the X in the corner to close the screen, however, I was told that I purchased it & it could not be refunded because it was a digital product. The Toolkit has never opened or accessed because I never purchased it & why would I purchase a Toolkit on the very first day of the course. I followed the steps to cancel my free trial & try to request a refund only to be on hold with music for almost an hour. So I contacted them through Facebook & they stated they would get back with me & sent a message through their website contact us page. I finally received an email stating just what I said above that I had purchased the digital product & a refund could not be granted & instead of them cancelling my free trial they offered more free stuff. I have sent several messages but it's always the same process of not refunding the $39.95 & offering me more free stuff but not cancelling the free trial. The end of this free trial course is June 29, 2020 & I have not taken anymore courses since June 4th when I checked my Paypal account & saw they had charged me; I wish for the free trial to be cancelled as they stated could be done before June 29th & a refund of $39.95.
Desired Outcome
I wish for the free trial course to be cancelled as they stated could be done before June 29th & a refund of $39.95.

I have a right to my 29.95 back as the ecert was meant to be included. I am happy to pay my 99 for all my features but if my account is not unlocked i would like all my money refunded which would be a shame cause i am really enjoying the courses. The features locked are toolkits and hard copy certs.

Thank you
I want my money refunded in full, and I want them to remove my contact information completely.

It was my part time working money that I'm saving up
Just refund me back my money and I'll never bother you again

Signed up for a free trial but got charged immediately.
Hello,
I signed up for a free 4 week trial with Shaw Academy, but they asked for my card, which I provided and later on found a $69.99 charge. They said on the website that I could use their program for free until I canceled my free trial. I signed up yesterday and got charged $69 yesterday. This is unacceptable and I want a refund.
I want a refund.

I want my fifty cents back, as well as any other funds that they will likely try to extort from me before this matter is settled.

This website is a scam. Signed up with a promised "free trial" only to have my card charged as soon as I signed up for the program. ***
I was charged $39.95 USD to my card. This shouldn't have occured. I was promised a free trial which I signed up for. Thinking that they would have done as promised and not charged my card until after the trial period was over. That was not the case. Not even a day into my trial they charged my card. False advertising. This is a scam by the brits to take our money. And it's working. Don't fall for it. As did I. Oh, and ShawAcademy if you're reading this, which I hope dearly that you are, give me my *** money back you filthy animals.
A full refund.
Hi ***,
I have reviewed your account and would like to confirm that the USD 39.95 was charged upon the purchase of E-certificate via one click purchase on the website. However as a good well gesture I have initiated the full refund of USD 39.95, which will be credited back to the source within the next 3-5 business days.

I signed up for a 30 day free account with course access. I was immediately charged a monthly subscription amount.
Returned money charged.

A full refund inn to my paypal of £49.99

I feel that they had no intention of actually giving me a refund until I complaint to the Revdex.com. They have replied with a stock reply which is poor and I feel that this isnt good enough considering they made me phone up in my own time and then have a series of email conversations over the following week. They don't offer a good service, the qualifications the charge for are worthless and unncredited, they don't warn customers that their "free" trial is ending they just take the money. Then never intend to refunnd you. They should be investigated for fraud. A weak apology isn't good enough.

Shaw Academy processed an unauthorized charge on my credit card and refused to refund the money although I did never purchased their services.
My Shaw Academy Student Number is XXXXX. I opted a free trial course.
I completed my free course on 7th May. After that I forgot to inactivate my profile. Today, I observed that two times $69.99 has been deducted from my credit card. When I logged in to my Shaw Academy profile I found that they automatically enrolled me to Premium Membership without any notification to me.
They denied my request to refund my Payment.
Payment were automatically taken from my husband's credit card

A Refund for a Module
I was extremely excited to take this course (Graphic Design). I had no intention on buying anything seeing as it was a free course. Yet, when I checked my email it showed where a module/ lesson was purchased. I've email them and I've cancelled my subscription because I am afraid they will charge me for something else. I would just like a refund
I'd just like a refund

I have tried for weeks to cancel my membership after taking advantage of the promo trial membership. Cannot reach anyone to cancel. No human contacts.
When I tried to cancel my trial membership prior to being billed for the first month at regular rate the system took be through multiple steps before advising Canadian students had to call an Ontario # to cancel. I have tried that number at various times of day for weeks with no success. Its automated and sounds sketchy. Does not sound or do they behave like this is a legitimate education/training business.I just want to cancel and get my last charge refunded to me.
I just want my membership cancelled with written confirmation of this, along with refund of the last charge taken from my account.
