I was charged, despite the offer of 1 month free trial.
I have registered at Shaw Academy for 1 month free trial on June X XXXX. However, immediately my Paypal Account was charged 34.95$ CAD. This was against the terms and conditions of the free trial agreement.
I have contacted Shaw Academy support team by email right away. I provided my full name, phone number, screenshot of charged from my Paypal and bank accounts. The answer was that it is impossible to track down my information. Here is the answer
"We are still unable to recognise your email address in our system.
Please send us a new email using the email address*** you initially used when signing up and through which you have been receiving communications so that we can priortise your issue and respond you faster.
If you are unsure about the registered email address, please reply back to this email with the following details.
-Full Name(used at the time of registration)
-Phone Number(with ISD/country code) used at the time of registration
-Payment Receipt along with card last 4 digits or PayPal email address"
I provided the required information 3 times in separate emails , but the problem was not resolved
Desired Outcome
I would like to get a refund for unlawful charge of 34.95$ CAD. I contacted customer service team many times, but they responded in script and were unwilling to help.

I received my money back, thank you
Shaw Academy processed an unauthorized charge on my credit card and refused to refund the money although I did never purchased their services.
On 26/05 I joined Shaw Academy for one-free month course. Two days later on 28/05 they charged me about 70$. Then I tried to access my purchased course which they charged me but I couldn't. Simply they stole my money without any services. I sent them a message to refund my money but they denied they charged me or they know my account.

I sent my PayPal account receipt that approves this. The biggest problem was that I couldn't access my purchased course while the price which they charged let me access the course anytime.

They took $40 out my account and offer a lifetime subscription for doing so instead of returning my money. Then after asking to unscribe they took $70
This company is scammers I signed up for a free trial which required a card info entry but if unsubscribe before the deadline nothing will be charged. Which was untrue because I unsubscribed and they took $40 out my account unauthorized. Had the audacity to offers lifetime subscription for the mishap. Then I requested to be unsubscribed again. Now they have taken $70 out of my account and once again they only sending out emails and there is no contact number for them. Stuff like this should be again the law and companies should Not be able to access your account if their business is not correctly in order.
Desired Outcome
I want my money returned and I want to be unsubscribed from their company being able to access my account. I want them shut down so they can not do this to anyone else.

Shaw Academy offered 4 weeks free trial. Charged me £39.95 3 days into trial and refuses to refund. Thousands others are having the same issue.
On June 7th I applied for a 4 weeks trial with Shaw Academy. In order to do so, like many other companies, they asked for my payment details, to which I provided them with my PayPal.
On June 12th, I received a charge of £39.95 without any explanation.
I emailed them straight away, challenging the payment. They replied saying that I had bought a certificate, which is false.
By then I had only followed 2 classes, and decided to quit because it wasn't the course I was looking for.
I then decided to look them up, as it felt very dodgy, only to find out that many others have been hit by the same scam.
I therefore ask for a refund of what they charged, as well as for them to delete all my details from their system.
Desired Outcome
refund of £39.95, as well as for them to delete all my details from their system.

I've been charged for a toolkit a didn't ask for
I sign up to try the service, so I put my paypal account. While I was watching the first lesson, I've received on my cellphone a notification charging me $12,99.
When I searched, the Shaw Academy said that I clicked and submited for toolkit/diploma. But it's not true.
The website has lots of popups, and I'm pretty sure I didn't clicked on none of them, neither confirmed such transaction.
It was on June 8th. ID number #XXXXXXX. At the same day I contacted them through . After 2 days, they only answer they give to me it's that it is impossible to do the refund. They offered some courses or discounts that I don't want.
Desired Outcome
I do require the refund $12.99 to my credit card.

This company charged a card and account that they should not have access too and will not refund me my money. This is THEFT!
On April 30th I signed up for a 4 week FREE trial. I used my cashapp card for this. I canceled the trial the very next day. I called the number they gave to call after canceling. THE NUMBER DID NOT WORK! I even emailed the company. They continued to try to charge my card (which did not go through). HOWEVER, on June 15th, this company somehow charged my PayPal account for $69.99. They have NEVER tried to charge that account. I'm not sure how they received that information because I did NOT put any PayPal info in because I don't normally use PayPal for anything but receiving money. PayPal says I had a contract with that company which again is NOT true. The card that was charged is NOT the card I authorized to be charged. They are refusing to give me a refund!
Desired Outcome
I would like to be refunded the $69.99 that was taken from my account. And for the membership to be canceled.

Signed up for free trial, cancelled after 4 days, asked for refund as money took without consent and they refused
Signed up for four week free trial as advertised. Cancelled after several days as there was constant badgering by text, email and WhatsApp. Cancelled through the website portal and thought that was that. 26th May they took £50 out of my account...despite me never using their services at all. I reported this to Shaw Academy, although this was hard as the number didn't work and all attempts to contact failed. I finally complained and they refused to refund. In addition this breaches direct debit guidelines as I was not given prior notice to the money coming out therefore have reported to the bank.
Desired Outcome
I want a refund

I was charged for a class not attended. I thought it was closed when I received a refund for a toolkit I thought of purchasing but cancelled same day.
I have been receiving many solicitations for jobs, trying, etc. I looked at this from Shaw Academy and considered it. I did not sign up but considered purchasing the toolkit on 4/24/20. I immediately cancelled the toolkit and was refunded that same day. This is how they got my payment information. I never attended any class and considered the interaction was cancelled because I received my refund the same day. On 6/26/20 I was charged for $69.99 and I immediately disputed it. I contacted through email and they said they couldn't find me in their system. This has gone on for quite some time. They have finally recognized that I was charged and they refuse to refund my PayPal account.
Desired Outcome
I am seeking a full refund for my $69.99.

I signed up for a free trial of course on June 8th. My first login on June 10th charged $80 via incidental one click purchase, told no refund.
My free trial was initiated on the June 8th for a Stock Market course provided by Shaw Academy that I found on a Facebook Advertisement. On June 10th, I logged in for my first class using the mobile app that did not work at all. So, then I logged in using my phone to the website using my mobile browser. From there the session was extremely hard to interact with due to the website's terrible user interface for a mobile/phone browser, I ended up accidentally hitting the, mind you spam, one click purchases (no confirmation) for over $80. I just started the free-trial, why would I want to spend any money on my first login session? Additionally, the customer service argued that I should just keep the purchases and just complete the course. Arguing with a free-trial consumer to force them to spend money without trying out the product?Very predatory sales practice. I want my $80 back and I never will do business with or have anything to do with this company nor their courses.
A refund of $80 due to predatory one click purchase pop-up options on a non-user friendly mobile web site platform.

False advertising and impossible to cancel.
I signed up for a 28 day free trial, then fifty dollars a month after the trial ends. As soon as I put my card on file, they charge me fifty cents and tell me the monthly charge is going to be Seventy dollars. Then class starts. Nobody is in there. They said it was a live class, but it's nothing but a very horrible bot and a recording of a live class. The entire set up is a scam. I want my fifty cents back. I tried to cancel and got the run around. If I get charged, I am prepared to sue. My hourly rate right now is sixty dollars an hour. I will sue them for a refund of my money (plus interest), attorney fees, my time in dealing with this nightmare of a scam, as well as the frustration involved. I am not waiting to see if I get charged before I file this, because what they have done is enough for a complaint. But because of their reputation that I only discovered too late....I thought it best to file this complaint now.
Desired Outcome
I want my fifty cents back, as well as any other funds that they will likely try to extort from me before this matter is settled.

ShawAcademy billed me for service in trial period for product that I didn't order, give store credit for the course requiring monthly commitment.
I signed for a 4-week trial period for Graphics Design. They had an automatic bot sending a link during the course. Now I am charged $39.95. When asked for it, they were refusing to refund the money. Instead, they give $199 credit towards the course for the four modules which requires me to pay $69 per month for the duration of the four modules. I am not sure how long these four modules last. In my humble opinion, this is not acceptable.
Desired Outcome
Please request them to refund the $39.95. I am not interested in the $199 credit requiring me to commit more money.

I signed up for a trial. Decided that this wasn't for me and canceled my account before the charge. They have attempted to charge me twice.
There was a trial period that you could use before being charged for their services. I quickly (week or so later) realized this wasn't for me. Emailed them because there was no phone number to cancel and requested an email sent to me once canceled. I received the email so I thought my account had been canceled. Found out that my account was charged not once but twice. My bank prevented the charge due to not sufficient funds in my account. Wish there was a phone number to contact them but for any issues they prefer you email.
Desired Outcome
I do not want them to charge me OR ATTEMPT to charge again.

To resolve free unlock offer, which they charged me. offered to unlock 3 more exams free. After spending a week with customer service I was charged.
Offered 3 free unlocks on May 18th, to make up for previous free unlock(where they unlocked an exam I already paid and took, basically doing nothing since already charged) and for the horrendous experience I had with their course materials freezing/crashing/endless buffering.
May 20th I followed up thanking for the offer, but asking when I would expect to see the unlocked products. They responded that my issues have been forwarded to their team and that the unlock offers typically take up to 48hrs. May 23rd I took one exam at night and then 2 more the morning of May 24th.
Shortly afterwards I noticed 3 charges on my credit card. Immediately emailed Shaw Academy, and followed up or replied to them every couple days since to this date.
After the initial response being unhelpful, basically ignoring my issues and telling me the courses have been unlocked free in my account. I filed a dispute with my credit card company for these fraudulent charges.
After numerous emails detailing and requesting the fraudulent charges refunded by Shaw. Shaw has admitted that they are sorry I was charged, but they do not have ability to refund...while also stating that they see these 3 courses were unlocked on my account and I could access them free. They admit fault, but claim no responsibility. It seems like a $$$ scam to me, and their email only customer service support is horrendous. They ignore email issues and reply with ore scripted responses that ignore your issues.
Desired Outcome
They charged 3 separate fraudulent charges of $39.95. After they offered to unlock free and a week of customer service emails where they assured me I would not be charged.
They offer deals & unlocks, but then charge anyways. Refusing to refund. I had several other screenshots from email correspondence backing up my story. I also have screenshots detailing my payment history with them, showing free unlocks followed up by charges for those same free products.

It said I have to call in to cancel, so I called to cancel and they did not cancel it for me. On the 12 of June, I decided to sign up for a free course in Shaw Academy but they charge me for it giving me no refund. On top of that they have this one click purchase that if you click on it, it automatically takes your money from your account which most peoplr have accidentally clicked. I've sent them an email but they wouldnt give me a refund saying that they would provide for me free certs for the rest of the modules but when I checked, there was nothing free. After attempting to cancel my account the week I joined and not having anyone answer my calls, I have been charged $69.99 unjustly.
I had tested the services of the web development class and was unsatisfied after the first week and went ahead and cancelled my account with the assurance that I would not be charged. However, I kept receiving emails about classes so checked and saw they had not cancelled so I tried again and called with no answer, and the issue has continued to this day, June 12th, 2020. I have now received a charge for $69.99 that should have never been billed and am furious that no representative has answered my calls. I demand a refund and want away from this awful company. Issue my full refund and cancel my membership!
Desired Outcome
I want a full refund of the $69.99 charged to my bank account and want to be able to speak to a customer service representative with issues about why my cancellations was not processed.

I have repeatedly requested a refund for services I was charged for which I never used as part of a scammy "free 4-week trial" and haven't gotten it.
This company seems to be an absolute scam and I just want my money back and to never deal with them again. Here is what happened: I vaguely remembered signing up for a free 4-week marketing class trial online from Shaw Academy weeks and week ago, but I never actually used the trial, and furthermore, the company never sent me an email warning I was about to be charged, or even reminders about logging in to enjoy the free trial. Furthermore, they tried to charge me on a recurring monthly basis, something I NEVER signed up for!
When I saw my Paypal had been charged for the full amount of $69.99 on June 5, I went through the steps of trying to resolve it through Paypal and heard nothing back. I don't really believe anyone is at the helm of either the email they listed there (***@shawacademy.com) nor at their phone number (Shaw Academy UK+XXX XXXXXXXXX). When I went to their website and finally remembered which email I had used to login, it's virtually impossible to find out how to cancel. Then when my husband and I went to my Paypal account, we saw that what I had thought was a one-time charge of $69.99 would now be charged MONTHLY. Let me be clear: I would NEVER have signed up for this had I known it was going to be $69.99 per month!! So I deleted the payment from my Paypal scheduling, and now I just want my refund. Furthermore, I have attached the ID proof from my Resolution Center in Paypal. They have yet to contact Paypal back regarding my claim.
I feel their marketing practices are purposefully misleading, and their customer service seems to be nonexistent. Furthermore, the number I tried calling today that I Googled (supposedly located in Nashua, XXX-XXX-XXXX) isn't even a real connected number.
So here is the email I just sent to them at ***@shawacademy.com with the pdf that I have also attached here:
Hello,
Per the instructions I found on your website, I'm requesting a refund of the free trial membership that I never once used and feel was misled into. I believe this is the email I must have used to sign up for the membership, and attached are the screenshots you requested that prove you charged me via my papyal (which was linked to my bank account). I have also attached a screenshot of the resolution center request I lodged with Paypal immediately upon learning my account had been charged for something I never used, case id PP-D-XXXXXXXX.
I expect a prompt call back please, or at least receipt of your receiving this email and my money refunded.
Revdex.com, please help me to get their attention so I can get my money back. Thank you
Desired Outcome
I want my money refunded in full, and I want them to remove my contact information completely.

They finally refunded me.
Paid for full membership but my account features are still locked and I was charged for a feature after membership payment.
I have really enjoyed Shaw Academy photography course so as I came to the end of my free trial I purchased a full membership for 3 months for 99, straight after this I also got charged 29.95 for an e cert which was clearly meant to be included in my deal. Then I soon realised my membership hadn't changed at all it still wanted me to pay for ecert, toolkits and hard copy which are all included in my deal. I immediately contacted Shaw Academy and it took a while to get reply I was unable to be refunded my 29.95 so instead the agent unlocked all my ecerts (which I believe I was already untitled to) but everything else is still locked and wants me to pay my toolkits and hard copy. It's such a shame their courses are amazing but the service is disappointing. I am still waiting over a week after payment for my features to be unlocked.
Desired Outcome
I have a right to my 29.95 back as the ecert was meant to be included. I am happy to pay my 99 for all my features but if my account is not unlocked i would like all my money refunded which would be a shame cause i am really enjoying the courses. The features locked are toolkits and hard copy certs.

Shaw charged me $39.95 for a certificate I didn't approve of and refuses to provide a refund.
Shaw Academy uses unethical and unlawful tactics to charge their customers. I went to check the price of a promotion they were offering which was hidden. I clicked to see it, but was immediately routed to a "processing" pop-up. It never processed and had a loop animation for a long time, and had no way to cancel the transaction. I exited the site as it was glitched, and was immediately charged for the "certificate" I didn't approve. No confirmation email, but I set payment notifications on my phone and noticed they charged me. They have many pop-ups and promotions on their page, it would not be a surprise to me if others have accidentally clicked on something and have been charged without knowing. They have a Paypal loophole where Paypal see it as an authorized purchase because of how they require a payment method to join their free trial,so I was not able to get a refund through a dispute. Don't let this unethical business practice continue to run this way. Shaw Academy LLC. please stop hurting people, it will only hurt you.Thank you.

I have contacted Shaw Academy support team by email right away. I provided my full name, phone number, screenshot of charged from my Paypal and bank accounts. The answer was that it is impossible to track down my information. Here is the answer

Firstly, I am grateful for your help and your try to give back my money from Shaw Academy.Let me say something obvious at first about Shaw Academy: I've looked for cases that they were same as my one and I found so many cases that sharing the same idea,When I joined Shaw Academy on 28 May, they offered me one FREE month but after just 3 days they charged me about $70. I sent my PayPal account receipt that approves this. The biggest problem was that I couldn't access my purchased course while the price which they charged let me access the course anytime.
My account email is : ***@hotmail.com
my paypal account is : ***@gmail.com
Hi ***,
My apologies for the experience you have had thus far. We have initiated refund which will be credited back to the source in next 3-5 business days.

I therefore ask for a refund of what they charged, as well as for them to delete all my details from their system.
refund of £39.95, as well as for them to delete all my details from their system.

Payment Method: Paypal
Purchase Date: June 10th, 9:00 P.M.
Payment Amount(s): $39.95, $39.95
Paypal Transaction ID(s): ***XXXXXXXXXXXC, ***XXXXXXXXXXX*
Paypal Invoice ID(s): XXXXXXXX, XXXXXXXX

I do not want them to charge me OR ATTEMPT to charge again.

Signed up for a free trial but got charged immediately.
Hello,
I signed up for a free 4 week trial with Shaw Academy, but they asked for my card, which I provided and later on found a $69.99 charge. They said on the website that I could use their program for free until I canceled my free trial. I signed up yesterday and got charged $69 yesterday. This is unacceptable and I want a refund.
I want a refund.

I signed up for the free trial. I called to cancel after a few days of the trial and they did not cancel it for me. My card was charged.
I signed up for the free trial. After a few days of my trial, on May 15, I went on the website to cancel it. It said I have to call in to cancel, so I called to cancel and they did not cancel it for me. They tried to upsell me other products instead, and turns out they just added some sort of certificate to my account instead of cancelling. I tried to reach out via email to cancel and never got a response. My card was charged. I followed up to get a refund and they refused to refund me. The only time I used their service was when I watched a class recording for about 5 minutes before closing it. I never used the service again after that.
Refund the charge of $69.99 to my card.

I've signed up for a 4 week free course in Shaw academy but they charged me their usual price for that.
I'm a student and would really like my money back. It was my part time working money that I'm saving up
Just refund me back my money and I'll never bother you again

Thank you
I want my money refunded in full, and I want them to remove my contact information completely.
