On top of my tech support question, I even asked a course related question. I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE ANY TRUE ASSISTANCE. How are you going to present as a SCHOOL, if I cant even get help with the basic module information? Then when I asked a TECH SUPPORT type issue, I was thrown a credit at me like as I should be jumping up and down and be grateful for the credit given.

The sad part is my tech support issue is keeping me from being able to progress in the classes therefore the credit they gave me is OBSOLETE!!!!!!!!!
WOOHOO free money that I cant even benefit from! Thats exactly what every person on the planet wants.

I was treated like I did not matter. My simple but complex question/issue was not taken seriously. I feel like I was given the run around. The saddest part of my feedback, I was genuinely interested in seeing this thru to the end. I actually had every intention of seeing this thru to the end. I only cancelled my membership because of this complete disrespect I received from your professors and the support team. I am the type of person where if something happens to me I keep it to myself. But this.... I genuinely had a passion *** and a healthy need/want to pursue.

To make this clear as water, my whole situation started off like this: My question:
I have a chromebook, the module calls for the use of Android Studio. I do not have access to the Google Play Store nor Linux Beta. Do you know if Android Studio is compatible with my system and if so how can I download this application?

The first response was the credit to my acct....

Now do you see the frustration I am experiencing.

My question that I asked directly to the professor that was COMPLETELY IGNORED..

which is completely disheartening as well... more just complete shock that as an institution that thrives helping people excel, the support side was a complete let down. COMPLETE. I am still in shock at the treatment I received from your Academy. complete dumbfound-ness at this point.

Shaw Academy charged my PayPal $69.99 on 05/26/20 after my account was confirmed cancelled by Shaw Academy on 04/28/20 via email.
On April XX XXXX I requested my "membership" with Shaw Academy UK be cancelled. Shaw Academy replied to my request and in paragraph 8 of their email informed me "The first thing I have taken the liberty of cancelling your membership which will be updated in your account within 24 hours or earlier and thus ensuring no further payments". On May 26th another payment of $69.99 was taken from my PayPal account by Shaw Academy UK. I sent an email to Shaw Academy UK on 05/27/20 and included a PDF copy of their 04/28/20 email to me confirming my account should have been cancelled and no further payments. They replied that I did not cancel during the 4 week trial period which payment would be made unless cancelled. Since my account was cancelled by them on April 28th 2020 this was in fact done, ending any membership or obligation of payment by me. They then again stated "The first thing I have confirmed that your membership is canceled thus ensuring no further payments will be taken." I replied to Shaw Academy UK that this was an unacceptable resolution as I had provided them with an email sent to me confirming this has been done on April 28th 2020 and again provided them a PDF copy of the email from Shaw Academy UK on that date. I also included a copy of my PayPal payment for $69.99 on 05/26/20 and my information for a refund to be made available to me. No reply was given so I again emailed on 05/30/20 informing the company that their transaction on my account on 05/26/20 was fraudulent due to my membership being cancelled and confirmed as such by their company. I, again, provided a copy of their email from 04/28/20 and a copy of the transaction on 05/26/20 to my Paypal account. On 06/01/20 Shaw Academy replied to my request for refund stating "I can understand your concern about this matter. However, unfortunately, there is no way at all a refund can be processed for you. The issue remains that the terms and conditions were made readily available, you have accepted them and actually inserted payment details for a free trial/subscription service which had subsequent payments related to it, hence the contents were made available in your account which cannot be revoked. We cannot offer a refund in these circumstances." Since my account was cancelled on 04/28/20 I was no longer under obligation under the terms and conditions of monthly payments. Shaw then proceeded to sign me up for a 6 month subscription - "free" - without my permissions or confirmations. I replied 06/01/20 to Shaw Academy UK letting them know this was not permissible as my account should have already been cancelled 04/28/20 which I provided plenty of proof as such. Again, attaching a copy of emails and payment. They replied to my request on 06/02/20 stating "We cannot issue the refund unfortunately as the service has been made available as per the terms and conditions." Since I had cancelled the membership with them there was no permissions from me for these services to be continued rendered on my behalf. This is absolutely unacceptable and fraudulent activity done by Shaw Academy UK. The trial period they have over and over described in their replies to my request for a refund ended in April, which was when I then subsequently cancelled my account and received confirmation from Shaw Academy that this was processed and no payments there after would be taken.

I would like a full and complete refund of $69.99 to my PayPal account for the transaction processed 05/26/20 by Shaw Academy UK

Cancelled the the service before the free trial ended with their online service and phone robot. My card was then charged a month later.
Signed up for Shaw Academy nutrition 4 week free trial on April 14th. Went to cancel the subscription on May 11th but their phone line was closed for the day, so I paused the subscription. On May 12 I cancelled my subscription but never received any confirmation other than the phone robot saying it was cancelled. June 1st my card was charged and when I logged in again my account was marked as ACTIVE. I have used the same process to cancel again and cannot get a hold of any real person at Shaw Academy. They are doing the whole thing again, they still have my financial details and say it will be cancelled June 29th. The account says "non-renewing" and that I wont be charged, but that's what it said last time.

Desired Outcome

I would like my money refunded and my account to be actually cancelled.

Charged 3 charges of $34.95, was only refunded 2 charges.
Charged $69.99 for membership even though I canceled prior to trial end. Refused to refund.
I'm having ongoing issues with Shaw Academy.

I began a 4-week free trial with Shaw Academy on April 27, 2020 where they required my credit card information and indicated that I would be charged if I did not cancel prior to the trial period ending, but would not otherwise be charged.

While taking the online courses, my computer froze and I was clicking around on the site, not knowing that they had one-click payments where there was no confirmation that anything was being charged to my credit card. After several pleading emails back and forth where they originally declined to provide any refunds despite the fact I had not opened whatever it was I purchased, the representative Marcas notified me that all 3 charges of 34.95$ would be refunded. Unfortunately, and not surprisingly, only 2 were refunded. So this sparked another email thread, for which I received the response that they would not be refunding it.

Three business days prior to my trial ending (May 21, 2020), I canceled my subscription. I did so both online through my online account on the Shaw Academy webpage, and then was given a phone number (X-XXX-XXX-XXXX) and a reference number (XXXXX) to call in order to actually cancel. It was a gruesome automated voice that tried approximately 12 different ways to avoid my cancelation, but in the end I of course canceled. Yet again not surprisingly, a membership fee of 69.99$ was taken from my credit card on May 25, 2020. Now, after many strings of emails, they are refusing to refund me the 69.99$, stating that I did not cancel. I do have proof of the phone calls I made to cancel. Each time, they offer me more items such as money towards courses, months of free access, access for friends or family, etc. All I want is my 34.95$ and 69.99$ returned to me, and I may then cancel my credit card and get a new one as I don't trust this company.

I am so displeased with Shaw Academy and I never want to deal with them again. I have done several free trials of apps where my credit card information was required, but never has anything like this happened before. The course itself was actually quite well done, but the company is absolutely horrific! I wish I had read all the terrible reviews online before starting a "free" trial.

Desired Outcome

Refund of $34.95 and refund of $69.99, then no further contact by Shaw Academy, and deletion of my account with them.

Shaw Academy has deducted money on my bank account without my knowledge.
Shaw Academy has deducted money on my bank account without my knowledge not once but twice no email has been sent on my e-mail address. When I tried to cancel my membership their user interface makes it hard to do so. I suggest changing the User Interface to make it more easier for student and inform the student if you want to deduct payment on a FREE TRIAL plan. What makes it hard is there customer service I am calling them with the number they provided to cancel my membership but no one answered. I dont want a refund I just want to cancel my membership because deducting money from your bank account without my knowledge is sign of a scam company.

I was wrongly charged an amount on my credit card by Shaw Academy after I cancelled my free 4 week membership before the deadline.
I signed up for a free trial with Shaw Academy on April 28th, 2020 and subsequently cancelled the subscription within the trial period on May 25th, 2020 after deciding that the service did not suit my needs. I did not log on to the website after that date. My credit card was charged $99.00 CAD on May 28th, 2020. When I logged onto my account to investigate the charge I found that my account was listed as having a premium membership which I had not signed up for. I re-cancelled the membership and contacted the support email to request a refund. I tried to remove my payment methods on the site but my credit card information could not be removed. I did not reactivate my account, on the date they gave or any other, and no one else had access to my account. I also did not receive a confirmation email or any other communication from the company to inform me that major changes had been made to my account for which I would be billed. I do not believe I should have been charged in the first place as I followed their terms and conditions and I do not want an ongoing subscription with a company who believes it is acceptable to reactivate accounts and charge customers without permission.

Desired Outcome

I want a refund and my account removed/deactivated after getting refunded. I do not want them to still have access to my credit card information as they are not a trusted company.

advertises free access to online courses for 4 weeks. Once registered they want $35 for course materials.To cancel you have to call . Left on hold.
I registered for their free 4 week access on may 29th and after discovering they charge for course materials I wanted to cancel. I gave them my credit card number for the monthly fee they charge after the free period. Very difficult or impossible to cancel.I called the number a few times and the result was always the same. They answer then put you on hold indefinitely.

Advertised free courses; immediately wanted money for "incidentals." Enrollment is all online; cancellation is suspicious and unnecessarily difficult.
Signed up for 30 days of free graphic design classes this evening (X-XX-XX). Company immediately wanted $39.95 for materials and an additional $39.95 for a certificate. I decided to cancel on the spot, but while the entire enrollment can be done online, cancellation requires a telephone call during their business hours (11am-8pm eastern, Monday through Friday). Have taken a number of online classes - this is the sketchiest setup I've run across. Have no faith they will disenroll me without trying to get some money out of me.

Modification/discontinuance of advertised claim, appropriate handling of cancellation, followed by no further contact from the business.

Shaw academy's customer service is terrible.
This complaint is about Shaw Academy pushing for upgrades constantly a.k.a 'freemium' (even when im already a premium member), the fact that we cannot choose how many classes we get to do in a week (i.e. two classes per subject per week) and their lack of customer service response.

1. I have been emailing (and calling) their support since Sunday atleast. I have been trying to cancel my account before my free trial was up. I thought it worked and went through but it has not and they charged my account $79, which, during this Pandemic, means a little more to me as I have not received my stimulus yet. I decided 'Ok', and that I will try to progress as much as possible so that I can get my diploma sooner than later and save some money, only to find out that the classes are limited on how many you can attend in a week (even though it seriously seems like the 'Live' classes are pre-recorded).

2. They harass me with pop-ups of buying a Module toolkit for my two classes i'm taking (social media marketing, sports nutrition) with emails, withIN the lessons and just on the website in general, they REALLY want us to buy the toolkit, even though the toolkit is not necessary for learning or obtaining my certificate. While i'm sure there are several (or millions as their website says) of people who have actually finished their modules and received their diplomas I cant help but feel like I have been duped by a bunch of capitalistic already rich 'Board of Directors' who drag out these courses to get more money out of us. I have never been to college, but is that what they do there too?

3. They make it so you can only take two classes in a subject per week. Instead of it being self-paced which I feel would be better because us students would be able to get the most out of our time and money while also learning at our own pace. So, if you can only take two classes per week, and there are 8 classes in a Module, with there being 4 Modules- that means it will take me about 3-4 months to finish my course. This isn't a long time in terms of schooling, but the fact that I cannot CHOOSE how much I can do in a week is frustrating and is a blatant show of them just trying to get as much money as they can out of me, as well with those infernal Module Toolkits which (save your money) are useless because you dont NEED them to understand the concepts in the lessons as the lessons and quizzes already help with that.

All in all, i'm still waiting on a reply to my emails about just talking to a live person, even if its in chat form.

I would like to talk or chat with a live person so i can get my questions answered as competently as they are able to provide. I want a refund because when i tried to cancel my membership before the trial my account still got charged.

I need my money back, I followed the cancellation steps of the page in due course within the free days they offered me.
The month of April I signed up to shaw academy trying to use the free week that they offered on their platform, I automatically decided to cancel the subscription trusting that it had been done successfully since I followed all the steps, today reviewing my account I was surprised that I have been discounted in soles: 252.31 Soles, since I am from Peru and in that currency I have saved my money.
I did not use the platform at any time, and I want you to return the money please, because for the covid 19 I need the money.
I am not in a position to pay or to be discounted such amount having canceled the subscription. I await your prompt reply please.

When I purchased their toolkit I was unaware of the extra hidden fees that Shaw Academy charges.
They initially advertise the course as free.
Shaw Academy refuses to refund the toolkit that I purchased under the impression that, aside from the certificate of completion, it was going to be the only other payable fee.
What they don't tell customers before signing up is that they will be charged a monthly fee, after a 30 day free trial.
Also there is an optional(but highly recommended!!)toolkit to be purchased for EACH MODULE and of course you have to pay for the certificate.
All this is not mentioned before signing up.
I wouldn't have purchased the toolkit had I known about the extra fees.
I call this false advertisement by neglecting to inform potential customers of what their subscription will entail.
I contacted them asking for a refund for the toolkit stating very clearly that I wanted to cancel on the basis of their deceitful conduct.
They continue to ignore my request and instead they keep offering me freebies, stating that I agreed to the terms and conditions regarding refunds, when purchasing that toolkit and that they are by no means able to issue my refund, on that basis.
First of all this is terrible customer service but most importantly I feel cheated and therefore do not wish to study with them, not even if that was free, at this point.
I wish to get a refund for the toolkit purchased and to cancel my subscription with Shaw Academy.

Desired Outcome

In addition, if that is possible I would like to see that Shaw Academy is forced to make all their fees noticeable to potential students before they actually subscribe and purchase anything from them, should they wish to continue with their business. Lots of people are complaining about having to go through a lot of hardship just to close their account or get a refund. This is such a waste of time, effort and for some people of a lot of their money, as some of them state that funds keep getting taken out of their account. Many thanks for uour support.

I attempted to sign up for a free 4 week course, but after getting my card information and sending me texts, never allowed me to log in or cancel.
I attempted to sign up for a free 4 week course for Shaw Academy on April 29, 2020. I wanted to check out the course before committing beyond the free trial. I signed up using my email address, which was associated with my paypal account and needed to complete the registration. I received a text message offer with a link to purchase a special promotional package, which I was not interested in. I attempted at that point, to log into Shaw Academy and cancel my new membership, but was unsuccessful as I assumed my email had to be verified and I would receive an email with a call to action to complete my registration. I put a reminder in my phone calendar on May 26, 2020 to cancel the membership. Once I saw the reminder, I attempted to log in again and searched through all of my emails wondering why my email was not registered. The error reads "User with specified email does not exist." I filed a dispute using my paypal information direction from my paypal account considering this must be the only way they know I exist. They charged me $69.99 on May 27, 2020 and I want a 100% full refund as soon as possible. It is completely ridiculous that this is such a common scam used by Shaw Academy as I see in the other complaints filed here. Not only did they take my money, but they never even registered my account. On top of it, they request your phone number when registering, which they then use to send the same link repeatedly that absolutely looks like spam and should not be clicked on or answered. Along with the fact that I believe my phone number was sold because I have had more spam phone calls in the last month than I have ever had in the two years I have had this phone number. I even use a spam blocking app through Verizon and still get at least 5 calls a day from unknown numbers from random locations that I would have absolutely no association with. I demand a refund. This is not a business. And there is no free course.

Unauthorized Charge
Shaw Academy processed an unauthorized charge on my credit card after I had already cancelled my trial membership almost a month ago. When I log into my account, it shows that my membership is cancelled, so I am unsure why I was charged today.

I am satisfied because I wanted a refund and they have agreed to give me one.

I signed up for Shaw Academy's free 4 week trial, realized I was too busy to continue it, canceled it before my trial was over, and was STILL charged.
I signed up for Shaw Academy on April 23, 2020 for the free month of service.

I realized I didn't have the time to attend the classes regularly and decided to cancel. I went to my online profile and did the lengthy cancellation process. After completing that, I was told that I still wasn't done and in addition I had to call the number provided to complete the cancellation. I did this on May 14, 2020.

I called the number a few days later but was within my trial period. I called the number on May 19, 2020 and listened to the entire recording and canceled my membership.

My account was then still charged of $69.99 on May 21, 2020. When I emailed Shaw Academy I was told that I had to email them using the same email I had signed up with but that WAS the email I had signed up with. I have dozens of emails from them sent to that email address. I then got a cancellation email days after canceling. I've been in contact with Paul from Shaw Academy who keeps offering me free instruction. I don't want free classes for 6 months or a year. I want my money back.

I was charged May 19th $69.99 for a second month of Shaw Academy after emailing a complaint to cancel Shaw Academy membership on May 17th.
I emailed on May 16th to Shaw Academy support. In reply on May 19th, Gomez from Shaw Academy said the $69.99 membership in April could not be refunded, but reassured my membership is cancelled and gave 6-months free membership. On May 19th my online credit service it says I was charged another $69.99, totaling at $139.98 now.

Desired Outcome

I would like my card information to be removed from Shaw Academy to prevent further mishandling. I want a refund for the $69.99 charged on May 19th, not an extended membership.

I have cancelled the card held by Shaw Academy. I will not receive refunds if done now. In about 10 days I get my new card and I will add PayPal to the sites information to furthermore safely manage payments.

Actually, checked with bank- it worked. This is settled, sorry for any confusion I'm 19. Will click settled.

In March 2019 I paid for a online Masters course with SHAW. Never received it.
SHAW are saying it may happen or never happen. I want a refund.
In early 2019 I paid for a online Masters course with SHAW academy.
Roll on 18 months later and a dozen messages from your customer service team who constantly reply that it has been delayed - but have never updated their customers with this information. A blatant fraud. They never had the goods in the first place and are saying that it may never happen.

I am requesting a full and immediate refund on my purchase.

I have not had any updates regarding this or even an email apologising for the delay ever since the purchase which was due to be rolled out early-mid 2019. I can only imagine the THOUSANDS of others who were duped into transacting and purchasing this offer with no intention of fulfilling or honouring the purchase

They have literally taken my money and done nothing.
I copied my local trading standards and the Consumer Centre in Dublin where they are also based despite trading globally. I needed them to be made aware of their suspected fraudulent activities.

My email address will ultimately show the purchase on their system.

We truly are sorry for the delay in launching our Masters Level Qualification. We are still in the process of finalizing the programs and ensuring that the Master Level Qualification is launched at the highest of the standard; unfortunately, this has taken us longer than expected; hence the delay.

We will be able to provide a further update in the coming months and expect to take enrolments in late 2020 or beyond and we cannot guarantee this.

What we can guarantee is we are overhauling all the courses as we speak and they are amazing. We are also launching lots of new courses in 2020 all at Professional Diploma Level.

The message admits fault but it even states that they may never have the product available at the same time but yet wont refund myself!

I would like for them to delete my card details on their database, I've been trying to remove my subscription from them for a few days now.
I set up my account on May 12 with their free trial of courses but a few days later I reconsidered the subscription. I tried requesting them to cancel my subscription, but it seems that I am not able to unless I contact them, which is impossible for me since I live in the Philippines. I hope you can help me as the card I used is my main card and it would be hard to have it replaced. The account used my email which is: ***@gmail.com.

I would like for them to delete my account and make sure that my card details are not to be charged.

This company is a scam and they use despicable bullying and trick tactics to try to get you to stay on! I'm still being bullied and constantly texted
I signed up for the trial and forgot to cancel the first month. So I thought I canceled the 2nd. That's when I saw the $69.99 charge from my bank account. Like I said I thought I had already canceled it. So I go to their website and go through 5+ web pages of ***, only to get a phone number to call to cancel (again). So I call the number. I have to sit on the phone almost 10 minutes while the auto recorded voice switches up all the questions after asking them a different way and continually tries to trick me into saying yes I want to stay! Horrible system! No option to speak with a person either. I'm still getting texts and emails about this program that I DON'T WANT!! I emailed their customer service. I had to email them 2-3 times with my information even though I was using the same email address I used when I initially signed up. Seriously? They apparently love to waste people's time, get them frustrated beyond measure and then ask for info they already received! After this back and forth over several days, I am at a very high frustration level. I was told no I wouldn't get a refund and that they were extending my subscription with some 6 month deal. NO! NO MEANS NO! I don't want their program, because they have proven several times now they are going to bully me and sign me up for an extended deal I never wanted! I have never once even received a sorry or any sort of human reaction from them. I am disgusted by their horrible service, horrible bullying tactics, and extending my membership even though I obviously want nothing to do with them. I just want a refund of the $69.99. That's it. That's the only resolution I'll take. They have made me feel tormented and bullied. Not only that but, but my husband got COVID-19, and we lost his paycheck. We are barely holding on as it is. I came to ask for help in the way of a refund so I can put food on my table and they gravely insult me by giving me some extended 6 month membership that they will probably charge me for after 6 months? No. I just want my refund.

I only want a refund. With the virus going crazy around the world, I was gravely insulted that they shoved an extended membership i didn't want down my throat instead of giving me the refund I asked for. I just want some human compassion during these hard times. I need to put food on the table with that money.

They finally made it right and refunded me. They should also educate, and hire people who will actually try to help instead of continually spouting the same script to the point of absolute rudeness.

Credit card debited for a course advertised as free
A free project management course was advertised and I registered to attend the class. Upon completing the registration process it indicated that my total owing was 0$ and that my card would be charged on June 26, 2020.

I noticed that the same day I registered for the course the business charged my card.

I sent an email and got an automated response that I would be contacted in 48 hours. Till date I haven't received my refund or any correspondence from Shaw Academy regarding my refund.

Desired Outcome

I am seeking a full refund of funds taken (debited) from my card.

They are charging me for the services which I had cancelled and not used. They have no way to delete my details on their site.
I started using Shaw academy as a trail period but their portal was too confusing and made in a way that you may click mistakenly on their one click purchase scam links, I did it and I paid 24.95 Euro after that I filed a complaint on their site about this matter and they told me they can't refund me and offered me some free materials on their site and I took the offer and cancelled my subscriptions with them, after that I got a call from them about one month extra free trail period and I clearly told them no. since March I haven't logged into their site after cancelling my subscription, now today 30.05.2020 they charged me 49,99 Euro for monthly premium subscription which neither I have booked or I have used. They are just scamming people with this tricks. I can not delete my payment details from their site as well. I have frozen the transactions with my paypal if they are not going to resolve the matter.

I just want my refund and wish they stop scamming people like this.
