I wasn't notified that my free trial was going to end and I have not been notified when they have taken money out of my account without my permission.
I signed up to a free trial for Photography on the 25th of April. Straight away they charged me with card fees of 30p (card details of which I did not want to put in but had no choice) without informing me. During my free trial I ended up accidentally purchasing a one click purchase (which is said in small print) of £39.95 for an "E Certificate for Professional Diploma in Photography Module 1" on May the 7th. I did not receive an email confirmation nor a receipt for this purchase. I emailed them only to get promises of free kit etc. I never received these promises but instead was being manipulated into continuing the course. I am under 18 therefore cannot use PayPal so all of this is payed by card.
On top of all this I was then charged £49.99 for a "Shaw Academy Premium Membership - Monthly Subscription". When I began my free trial it was said that I would be notified 3 days prior to my free trial ending to give me chance to cancel. Because of this I relied on the email to remind me to cancel as I knew I would forget. They did not email me (I checked my junk, spam and inbox several times) 3 days prior but instead sent me spam emails of offers and more subscriptions. Additionally they did not tell me what time my subscription ended- I was planning to cancel my subscription on the day it ended (May the 23rd) as I no longer wanted to continue the course but it was too late as this was done in the morning. Although I had no notification I remembered in the afternoon and went to cancel but it had already gone through and I was unable to cancel due to having to phone them. The money has been taken from my bank but so far there is no mention of them or a monthly subscription. At the time of taking it from my account I did not receive an email or a receipt. I went to cancel my subscription and after page after page asking if I was certain I wanted to and giving me alternate options I was then given a phone number to call in order to cancel. As it was Saturday 23rd of May at the time of trying to do this, it said to call them back on Monday. I have paused my subscription so as not to use any kit as I do not want it. I have emailed the company personally and I am awaiting a reply but after my unsuccessful and confusing reply last time I do not want to waste my time.
Desired Outcome
Because of the fraud reviews and the scam type nature of their website I would like a refund for my difficulties and the way I have been treated. I have never been notified or informed and I am constantly being forced to subscribe to more and buy more than I already have. I feel unsafe with this company holding my bank details and although I plan to contact my bank I am unable to do so yet.

Shaw Academy resist to give refund
I have signed up to their free trial. However, I wasn't able to attend any of the scheduled online class because I got busy with my mom who is very sick and I am a single mom of two kids. Shaw Academy didn't even sent any notification that the trial is about to end. The only thing I knew was when I was about to withdraw my money at the bank to buy mom's medicine, it says insufficient balance. That is the only time I knew that Shaw Academy charged me.
I immediately emailed them that they need to refund me because I didn't even attend any of the classes and there is even NO option to cancel in the profile. They didn't event send their customers a notification that the trial is about to end. I emailed them to just cancel my subscription because I wasn't able to attend any of the classes anyway and they can go ahead and cancel it. I begged that they need to refund me because it's not right that they will just charge me yet I wasn't able to attend any classes during the trial. My mom is so sick and the money they have taken from my bank account is for my mom's medicines. How can they not notify their customers that the trial is about to end and there is no option to cancel subscription after the free trial?
I have attached screenshots of supporting documents. Please Revdex.com help me. I have begged them twice but I didn't want to refund.

After cancelling my subscription I have continued to be charged for 3 months by Shaw Academy
I signed up to a free trial with Shaw Academy with the email address I entered on this form.
It went past the free trial date therefore I was charged £49.99 to continue the subscription. Once I'd noticed this, and we weren't using the service, I logged into the site to cancel the service. It advised to call to cancel instead. I called and asked to cancel my membership, they made it difficult to cancel so I made it clear I wanted to cancel the membership and not pay any further charges. They confirmed it had been cancelled however they would give a free certificate for the course. I thanked them and confirmed again the membership had been cancelled.
Since then I have continued to be charged every month, therefore I contacted the company who advise it's in my terms and conditions to pay for the service, however their terms and conditions state I will only be charged if I don't cancel before the billing date, which I already had done.
Desired Outcome
I am seeking a refund for the last 3 months payments at £49.99 per month, where I was charged for services I had already cancelled. These were charged on 20th May, 17th April and 17th March, totalling £149.97.
Also seeking confirmation there will be no further charges taken.

I signed up for a 4 week trial with Shaw Academy. I called and cancelled my trial however I was still charged $69.99. I contacted Shaw Academy via email and they responded stating that they were unable to refund the $69.99 but they gave me 6 months access (worth $399) to courses. I am not interested in any courses from this company. The cancellation process itself is horrible. I feel as if I am being exploited.

I ended my free trial two days after signing up for it and was charged more than a month after.
I originally signed up for a 30 day free trial on 11th April, 2020 and ended the free trial on 13th April, 2020 which I got an email from Shaw Academy saying my trial was cancelled. Then today May 24th, 2020 I got an email saying I was charged $70.00 which isn't even 30 days after the start of the trial. I didn't go back on Shaw Academy since then so there is no way I could've accidentally restarted the payment. I also searched online to see if other people was experiencing this and saw numerous people posted today saying the same thing happened to them. Thank you.
Desired Outcome
I need my money refunded since I never used their service and I got a confirmation email for cancelling the service. Also $70 is a lot of money and I'm an unemployed student using my savings to carry me through this pandemic.

Shaw Academy processed an unauthorized charge on my PayPal of £49.99 although I never purchased anything.
I signed up for a 4 week FREE graphic design course and every few days I received emails that said "click here to purchase your certificate for £49.99!" And I choose not to, as that is quite a lot of money for someone who is struggling with income due to Covid-19. This morning I was made aware that £49.99 was taken from my PayPal account by Shaw Academy.
Desired Outcome
I would like a full refund of the £49.99 taken from my account as I did not choose to purchase my certificate.

When signing up it is not made clear that it is only a four week free trial. There is a reason Shaw Academy has so many complaints on Revdex.com, it is a disgrace that so many people have been tricked into letting Shaw Academy take their hard earned money. Issue 1 - Module 1 was discounted to $0 but credit card got charged $34.95
Issue 2 - $139 membership fee (3 months) is charged before end of my trial
Hello Shaw Academy,
I enrolled for 4 weeks free trial period on May 5 2020.
On May 6, I was charged $34.95 for module 1 e-certificate, that was however got fully discounted on May 9 with a final price $0 (receipt available if needed). But my credit card was charged $34.95 and still not credited any refund of $34.95. Can you please process refund?
Secondly, I enrolled for 4 week trial period (5th May to 4th June) and towards the end of period I can decide if I need to get on formal monthly plan or continue further once a full evaluation is done.
However, today on May 24, 2020 itself I see $139.95 charge in my credit card for 3 months quarterly plan ahead of my trial period end! I am not sure why so much ahead of time I am charged. I have decided to cancel my trial period all together.
I do not want to start any monthly plan until my trial period ends and I have evaluated fully. May I request you to cancel my 4 week trial period ahead of time and also this charged 3 month quarterly plan that seem to be starting from today May 24 - worth $139.95?
May I request to refund $34.95 and refund $139.95 back to the credit card; and cancel any subscription as well as payment information from the website please?
Thanks

Hi ***,
I have reviewed your account and noticed that you have agreed to the offer offered by our support team, which has been activated. Please contact us directly at ***@shawacademy.com if any further assistance needed.
I signed up for a free trial with the Shaw Academy however I got charged and they refuse to give me a refund.
I signed up for the Shaw Academy free trial in April 2020. Upon signing up the site indicated that they would send an email before the trial ends as a reminder. I accepted the offer based on this as I felt assured that my credit card wouldn't be charged without due process. While I was interested in using the service I never found the time to commit however I didn't cancel as I felt that I should be able to do so before the end of the trial period and often checked in to see if my trial was ending via email.
I was shocked to see that my trial had ended and my credit card was charged. I immediately contacted the Shaw Academy via email and requested a full refund as they did not provide the notification as promised before I signed up. This was clearly false advertising or ingenuine communication to me as a consumer it seems to coearce me deceptively to accept the free trial.
Shaw Academy provided me with a case number *** on May 21st 2020. I was further contacted via email and advised that they could not refund me because I didn't cancel in time and made no response to the fact that I was notified as they communicated. Additionally they tried to offer me a 6 months access to the site which I am now very much not interested in accepting.
I replied to the email on the May 21st and communicated that this solution was not acceptable and that I wanted a full refund the process as advertised was not followed. I am still awaiting a response so I contacted them again via email asking for a response.
Shaw Academy has proven that they are not transparent with the process of charging customers who take up the free trial. They make you feel that it is safe to consider and that you will be informed via email when the trial is about to end, giving a customer a sense of comfort that they will be reminded and have the option to cancel. This was a lie. I have never received an email from them and they have never replied on the fact that an email was not sent as clearly they do not send these emails out which is deceiving business practices.
Desired Outcome
I am seeking a full refund of the charges as the Shaw Academy has falsely promoted the free trial in that they did not provide an email advising that the trial period is about to end as they communicated.
This was a critical service feature communicated by the Shaw Academy that convinced me to try the service.
How could they refuse a refund if these notifications weren't sent leads me as a consumer to conclude that I was deceived intentionally.

This company has deceiving practices. The cancellation process is buried tricking people to believe it's their subscription is cancelled when it is not
I signed up on April 21. Logged into my account on May 4 and selected cancel my subscription. I thought it was successful but then got charged $70 on May 18.
I logged back in to cancel & realized that after you click cancel, you have to click through several times. They have the cancel link very small and hidden on the pages, making it a very deceiving process.
After contacting their support team, they have refused to issue a refund.
After seeing multiple complaints on the Revdex.com site, it's very clear that this company needs to adjust their business practices.
Desired Outcome
I did not authorize this charge, I cancelled on May 4

Dear Student,
Your refund has been processed as per your request. It will be credited back to your account within 5-7 business days.
I cancelled my subscription the same day of signing up, less than 4 weeks later I received a charge for $72 and now they're denying me a refund.
I kept seeing their marketing everywhere for a free-trial, upon signing up I did not like the ring of cancellation loops that requires you to click cancel over several times before being prompt to call a number with a reference number regarding cancellation. I did not think anything of this prompt due to the fact I received an email stating "we are sad to see you go". According to Shaw Academy terms and conditions, individuals can have a free trial period of a full month before subscribing to paid membership. I never used SA services. The date of supposed sign up was APRIL 24th 2020 and the date I was billed was MAY XX XXXX. I did not notice this charge until MAY 22. On that day I had called SA and they noted that my account did not probably cancel. The man on the phone was the same exact number I had to call for cancellation but he stated he doesn't handle cancellations via phone so he will be forwarding me to emailing billing for cancellation. Yet another loop hole of keeping my membership "active" after cancelling since April. I have so many emails from SA regarding discounts and training courses available but I am not interested in any of their services. I am essential healthcare worker for covid-19 and a veteran who doesn't have the time for training courses let alone being online.
This beyond frustating as this has costed my family of 6 our electric bill.
In the intial email response, They stated to be mindful of responsed time and an over crowd to there billing department due to covid-19 and yet they're holding onto people's refund due to "membership policies". If this is the case why can't they acknowledge the fact that their cancellation sets people up for failure? Also, that the company charged me days prior to the membership dues were actually up if my membership wasn't cancelled "properly"?
Desired Outcome
I would like my account to be completely cancelled and a full refund to be made to as soon as possible.

Shaw Academy offered me a free toolkit and then charged me ZAR 399 for it. They are refusing to refund me for this.
I signed up for a diploma through Shaw Academy on 22 April 2020 (one month free trial). On 24 April, I decided to rather cancel as I was not interested in receiving spam smses and emails 6 times a day. The lady I spoke to, Lauren A, offered to opt me out of the communication also offered me a free toolkit and ecertificate for Module 1. I then received an email from her confirming that the toolkit had been activated. When logging in and trying to access the toolkit, a payment of ZAR 399 went off my account. I then emailed Shaw to ask for a refund and was offered free toolkits and ecertificates for modules 2 to 4.
On 8 May 2020, Faheem N contacted me to offer me a 3 month premium membership for ZAR 999. This includes the toolkits, ecertificates and hardcopy diploma for the diploma I am subscribed to. I took up this offer.
I have now started Module 2 of the diploma and they have not unlocked the toolkit which I had paid for.
I have also emailed them requesting a refund for the ZAR 399, as I have no use for the credit they previously offered me.
It seems impossible to get hold of anyone at Shaw Academy as no one has been responding to my emails.
Desired Outcome
They need to refund me the ZAR 399 I was charged in error.
They also need to unlock the toolkit I purchased.

I signed up for a free trial and could cancel before May 23 without charge. I cancelled on May 21 and was billed on May 22.
I signed up for a free trial of a graphic design class. I was told by Shaw Academy that I had until May 23 to cancel. On May 21 at around 11pm EST I submitted my cancellation. They asked I phone the next day to finalize this process. At around 3am May 22 they billed me. Later in May 22 I called to complete their request to cancel over the phone. Their phone hours are 11am to 8am.
While on this phone call they allowed me to "request" a refund but this has been denied by Shaw. Their terms of service suggest limit the free trial to 28 days, however, I submitted this request online on the 28th day.
I have sought help from PayPal, the billing agent, but they refuse to help since the transaction has been completed.

Shaw Academy will not refund me when I cancelled before my trial ended.
I tried a month free trial of Shaw Academy's Marketing course, within two weeks I realised it wasn't for me and cancelled (or tried to). After a full month I was charged £69.99 I have been exchanging emails back and forth to get them to refund me which they keep refusing to.
They made it impossible to cancel and have been copying and pasting the same responses, they have even made offers of 6 months free to try to please me however I have said I am not interested in using it and would like my money back and they refuse, I 100% cancelled before the trial was over therefore it is a wrongful charge. I have provided proof that I text back STOP to text messages and they have breached GDPR and have still continued to message.
I believe they are an unreliable company, I have read many threads and the same has happened to a lot of others, I recommend avoiding them at all costs.
Desired Outcome
I don't want any offers provided or any more material, I simply want my account cancelled and my money refunded.

I applied for a free trial and was changed for the service. When I noticed I was charged I requested a refund and cancellation of account they refused
I applied for a free trial and the same day was charged, I reviewed the website and also realized this was not a at your own pace learning class. You can only do 2 segments a week and have to wait for the other lessons to open. As this is not what I wanted I sent an email to Shawacademy to request a refund and cancellation of my account and they first stated I didn't have an account with them. After forwarding screenshots of my account and emails they then stated they cannot refund my money and instead will unlock more resources and credit my account. My account was never credited, I never received access to the "upgraded" features and I never received a credit. All I wanted was my money back and for them to cancel my account. Neither of these have happened.
I tried to cancel my account and every time I go through the menu to cancel my account it states I need to call a number to cancel my account. When I call the number it rings and disconnects. I make sure to call within the companies "open hours" and have tried on 3 different days with no luck.
Desired Outcome

I was told we would receive free items And that subscription cancelled. We were then charged for the free item on our credit card.
My daughter Madison originally got the free trial. She tried to cancel over the phone and got the run around with guilt ridden recordings. She wasn't able to cancel and was charged $69.95
I complained on her behalf by email and was not given a refund. Instead they gave us free acccess for a year free toolkit and free certificate
We were told our subscription was cancelled too
When I tried to help her activate these Items another charge came on our credit card.
We cannot afford this and feel violated.

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
Dear Student,
Our support team has informed that your refund has been processed as per your request. It will be credited back to your account within 5-7 business days.

I am seeking a refund for the last 3 months payments at £49.99 per month, where I was charged for services I had already cancelled. These were charged on 20th May, 17th April and 17th March, totalling £149.97. Also seeking confirmation there will be no further charges taken.

I signed up for a 4 week trial, cancelled it and I was still billed $69.99. Merchant refuses to refund the charge.
I would like to be refunded for $69.99 and my account closed.

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
The refund has been processed.
Thank you.

I would like a full refund of the £49.99 taken from my account as I did not choose to purchase my certificate.
Dear student,
Your subscription was Created on 26-Apr-2020 10:14 and it is still active. Hence you where charged on 24-May-2020 10:14 after the end of the 4 week free trial.

When signing up it is not made clear that it is only a four week free trial. There is a reason Shaw Academy has so many complaints on Revdex.com, it is a disgrace that so many people have been tricked into letting Shaw Academy take their hard earned money. Especially in a time where the world is more divided than ever.

Thanks

Regards,
Shaw Academy
Dear Student,
Your refund has been processed as per your request. It will be credited back to your account within 5-7 business days.

I did not authorize this charge, I cancelled on May 4
Dear Student,
Your refund has been processed as per your request. It will be credited back to your account within 5-7 business days.
Thank you
I cancelled my subscription the same day of signing up, less than 4 weeks later I received a charge for $72 and now they're denying me a refund.
I would like my account to be completely cancelled and a full refund to be made to as soon as possible.

Our support team has informed that your refund has been processed as per your request. It will be credited back to your account within 5-7 business days.

They need to refund me the ZAR 399 I was charged in error. They also need to unlock the toolkit I purchased.

Shaw Academy processed two unauthorized charges on my credit card and refused to refund the money although I never purchased their services.
After signing up for an online trial I was deducted $34.95 twice for online learning materials I never purchased. When I contacted them they said they could not refund my into my account.
I am looking for a full refund of the $69.90 which was deducted from my credit card without my consent.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
I am seeking a refund in the amount of $69.99 from Shaw Academy.

The email, and statement, I received from Shaw is dated June 3. As of June 10 I have not received a refund from them. The second the funds are refunded to my PayPal account (the original funding source) I will accept the response. Until then, I reject it.
Hi ***,
I have reviewed your account and would like to confirm that our support team have initiated refund for the rest, which will be credited with in the next 3-5 business days.

I cancelled my subscription on time but still charged me. They don't allow to delete my Credit card informations on their site.
I enrolled on the free 4- week trial course. They asked for my CC information and mentioned to cancel my subscription on or before the trial class ends. I figured I dont want the class just for the first week, I cancelled immediately but they don't let me change my credit card information unless I put another valid CC numbers. I contacted the customer service but they are dealing with my concern and pass *** on to different customer service giving me weird numbers to be shown to the next customer service. They didnt give me any confirmation of my cancelled subscription and charged my CC saying I did not cancel it when the truth is I am trying to reach them for cancellation.
They need to delete my credit card informations on their system.
Dear Student,

I had a 4 week free trail and and when I went to cancel the subscription over the weekend it said you have to call customer service. The customer service is closed over the weekend and I was charged for a month. I went to call to cancel on monday and couldn't get through. I need to cancel my subscription and a refund for this month.

I don't want any offers provided or any more material, I simply want my account cancelled and my money refunded.
Dear Student,
As per your request we have cancelled your subscription. Please be assured that you will not be charged way forward.
We have also processed your refund. It will be credited back to your account within 5-7 business days.

My account to be canceled and a refund.
Dear Student,
As per your request we have cancelled your subscription. Please be assured that you will not be charged way forward.
We have also processed your refund. It will be credited back to your account within 5-7 business days.

I want out of this business
When you try to communicate they send you all this automated reply stuff that is so frustrating.
The first charge was April 20,2020
The second was May 18.2020
It was a nutrition course my daughter ***Thought was a free. free trial
I would like the 34.95 refunded for the toolkit And the 69.95 refunded as they have lost our trust and we cannot continue with a business that took out money in such a shady manner Thank you
