Cancel membership but still got a bill
I saw ads in Insta and registered for a free trial of a course. the course lasts for 4 weeks.I dislike the course and canceled it on website, made a annoying forced call, even emailed their support team to cancel. Now I see a bill? ! and I am a member now, paid 49.99 pounds! They are liar and they don't offer a reliable way to cancel the *** membership.
I want them to cancel my membership and I don't want to see any bill on my card!
Desired Outcome
I want them to cancel my membership, unbilll my card, and i don't want to see any more future bill on my card!

It's almost impossible to talk with their customer service and to cancel the free trial.
DO NOT SUBSCRIBE to Shawn Academy. They will harass you with emails, text messages and call you all the time. Although it's online classes, you have to attend the lessons following a specific schedule (you can't book a class for the same day). And most importantly, they have the worst customer service that I have ever experienced. It's impossible to talk to them, they only reply with automated messages. I subscribed to the free trial a week ago and I have been trying to cancel it and delete my account since then and it's impossible to reach them and the instructions they give are not working. I would not be surprised if they charge me without my consent.
Desired Outcome
I want Shaw Academy to end my free trial without charging me and I want them to delete my account and stop contacting me.

This company takes your money and runs.
Shaw Academy was advertising a free marketing course provided by their company. I signed up for it, watched the first video lesson, and within the week my credit card was charged several times with microtransactions ($0.07). When I saw this I immediately contacted the company to cancel and deactivate my account. They emailed me back detailing why I should continue with the course and did not cancel or deactivate my account. Instead, they removed the small charges, and I have since been charged $69.99 twice on my credit card and still no response or action from the company. I expect that they will continue to charge me going forward. It is an absolute scam.
Desired Outcome
I want my money to be refunded and my account to be cancelled and deactivated.

This company charged me for an item I did not purchase and have been given me the run around, not answering my questions, providing false information.
This company charged me for something I did not purchase, I have been told I can have a credit and it is in my membership profile but there is nothing on my profile that is accessible, each time I try and contact them regarding over payments they respond by saying my query has been resolved in another email- nothing has been resolved, there is no where on the site to cancel my membership or my credit card. It isn't a lot of money but it was a charge not authorized and I have a feeling they will continue to charge. I have saved all the correspondence and even said if not resolved I will report them to Revdex.com, where I see there are already over 60 complaints now.
Desired Outcome
I am looking for a refund as well as the ability to cancel my membership and remove my credit card information from their system without having to cancel my card with the bank.

Tried to cancel online on due date which was weekend only to find out phone call was req to complete cancelation but only available M-F.
I signed up for 30-day free trial. I tried to cancel on due date online through website (5/17/2020). After following the prompts, I got final message that I needed to call to complete cancelation. My credit card was charged next day. I called that day to complete cancelation. It was all automated and no option to discuss with a person. If the cancelation must be completed over the phone and business operation is only Monday-Friday, then due date should not be on a weekend.
Desired Outcome
I would like a full refund.

Cancelled account before trial ended and denying my refund
I signed up for Shaw Academy for their 30 day trial period on 4/23/2020 and realized I did not mean to sign up for this program and called in to cancel my account the day of, when I went into my account to cancel it said I had to call in to complete the cancellation I tried to do it that day but it was too late, so the next day I called in and spoke to a rep and I told her I wanted to cancel. She tried to help me find classes that I may be interested in and she gave me some free credits to use and I told her that I would possibly look into but I wanted my account to be cancelled and she told me If I looked at the classes and still did not want to be charged just to email her directly and she would make sure my account would still be cancelled. I emailed the rep on 4/28/2020 and let her know although I appreciate the help but I wanted to make sure my account was cancelled. On 5/22/20 I was charged $69.95 for something that I did not use at all or want, and when I emailed them to get a refund they told me no even though I called in and spoke to rep.I sent them over my call log, the reference number that I got when I initially tried to cancel and the email that I sent the rep stating that I wanted to cancel my account with them. I can see if I didn't make an attempt to cancel my account but I did and the fact that a rep lied to me and said that I could email her and it would be cancelled and it wasn't and now they wont give me my money back is ridiculous. I literally logged into the account twice the first day to cancel and today to make sure that my credit card information was off of it. I even told them to listen to the call and they would hear me say I want my CC information to be taken off and not to charge me.
Desired Outcome
I would like to have my money refunded. If i had logged in and taken the classes and forgot to cancel and then I would be ok with not getting my money back but I actually took the steps to make sure it was cancelled early and for them to tell me I didn't complete the cancellation process is another lie on their end.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my complaint and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
I signed up for a free trial and unsubscribed immediately. I did not authorize any charges and after 4 emails asking for info charged 69.99.
I inquired and immediately cancelled the subscription. They emailed me several times for my cc information to confirm. I email ed I was not interested and do not charge my account.....the low lifes did so and lied in their response saying I didn't notify of cancellation. Why would they send letters looking for information??? It's a scam and I want my money back.
Desired Outcome
Refund my money and cancel any files involving me.

I Signed up for a class with company. Tried to cancel but accidentally pressed "buy toolkit". No refund & I'm not sure they canceled.
On May 17th I sgned up for a beauty class with Shaw Academy through Facebook. They advertise 30 day free trial and we're in quarantine so why not. I love skincare, I'll learn how to take better care of mine. On May 18th I changed my mind and decided to cancel because the classes aren't actually self-paced. It's a weekly, two-day schedule and I really did not like that. I went to my account section and saw a RED BUTTON under my information. Red usually means cancel. It was a one-click buy button for some learning kit. I paid $39.95 for something was wasn't going to use but I thought I could get my money back. I found the cancellation policy and people cannot just cancel. You have to call a number. I called and she tried to hard sell me on the class again, giving me a credit that I did not want. I maintained my decision to cancel and she said "alright ma'am". I asked about the refund and she told me where to email. The response I got was that the toolkit is a downloadable kit and once they make it available they cannot give a refund. I replied that I'd cancelled so I wouldn't be using it so I should have my money back. As bad as it is to accidentally pay for something I'm not going to use, I want to make sure that my "membership" is cancelled because I do not want to be charged more at the end of the trial period. I see complaints from others online who were charged even after cancelling within the trial period. I'm suspicious because even though the phone rep said "ok ma'am", I keep getting email reminders about the class.
Desired Outcome
I am seeking a refund for the Toolkit: $39.95 and cancellation of my "membersihp"as requested.

I accept this response because it is the action I requested from the beginning, so my request has been satisfied.
I cancelled the classes and they still billed me, and after contact, refused to refund.
On April 20th, I received an email stating I lost access, and I cancelled it. When I contacted Shaw Academy they also acknowledged this. They kept sending emails and I opened one, never restarted an enrollment, and never attended any more classes since I cancelled the class. They have since cancelled my classes again and have refused to give me back the $69.99 that they took off of my card.
Desired Outcome
I am seeking a full refund back to my card.

I accept their response because it was what I requested.
I signed up for a free trial. Received a cancellation email on Feb 29 saying account was cancelled. Proceeded to charge me regardless.
I signed up for a FREE trial with Shaw Academy and yes I had to enter payment info (as with many free sign up trials). I signed up on February 2 with my email ***@gmail.com. I proceeded to cancel the subscription and I have a confirmation email that states that I cancelled my subscription which I received on February 29. I have never used any of the resources (although not critical information I assume) The seller proceeded to charge me multiple times after this date. I have been charged 3 times since Feb 29. I cut off my paypal account to prevent further charges but am looking for a refund of the following:
I have the following charges:
- $59.99USD on March 2
- $69.99USD on April 2
- $69.99USD on April 30
Total charged to date: $199.97USD
I have contacted the seller multiple times and get an automated response email saying I never cancelled (even though I have an email confirmation from them). They refuse to offer a refund saying I never cancelled and instead keep trying to upsell me, which really is making me mad. I have tried calling and only get automated teller. Apparently this is common with this seller. THESE GUYS ARE THIEVES! I have attached email confirmation below. As well as email correspondence with seller.
Desired Outcome
I simply would like a refund of the charges to date which is $199.97USD.

They won't refund my money instead of offering their products
I joined their free trail and end up not liking their courses and how the way they treated their members. I went ahed cancel the membership( it was a really confusing process). I thought my account was canceled until on May XX XXXX I found out I have being charged $69.99 on my bank statement . There was no email confirmation send to me nor reminding me my free trail were up ( they told you they would when you join the tree trail) so I tried to cancel my membership AGAIN and this time I had to call in and they made you go through 5 times confirmation to cancel and guilt trip you by canceling you are not reaching your goal and offered you all those courseS to make you stay. When I was trying to cancel my membership online I accidentally clicked one click purchase on toolkit. There was no confirmation just one click they took your money .. I was just trying to exit out the screen as they popped up EVERYTIME you login to your account!! So that was another $ 34.95 they took form me. I have emailed them and they refused to refund my money back but instead offer me their courses....
Desired Outcome
I need you to refund my money for both membership and toolkit purchase. I will not taking your courses or using your service. Please refund the money

Refund not issued as "I don't exist", they are unable to "find me", they charged cc anyways.
On May 11, 2020 @ 1900 hrs, "Shaw Academy" online education, in NY, NY, proceedEd to charge my cc for $34.95, for a nutritional class. When I realized, that I didn't want the course. I sent an email to "Shaw Academy" (***@shawacademy.com) on May 11, 2020, @ 1913, requesting "STOP" in the subject line as they indicated. By May 11, 2020 @1915, they sent out a confirmation that email that was rec'd and gave me an ID# XXXXXXX, to which they could tract our correspondence. On May 12, 2020 @ 0106, they sent an email stating in order to process my refund, they require my full name, phone number, payment receipt (with last 4 digits or PayPal email address) with what I had put for registration. Upon full receipt of the mentioned , then they will be able to move forward.
It has been 2wks. There has been ongoing correspondence, requesting the same information each time. I have (x3) forwarded credit card postings from Shaw Academy to my account. They state that they are unable to "find me" , that my email address does not exist (not in PayPal it doesn't as I don't have an account with PayPal), given them the last 4 digits of my cc (XXXX), and given them the same email address that I've been corresponding with them and that I put on previous page for correspondence. (***@hotmail.com).
I replied to that email on May 12, 2020, @ 1054, giving them the above information again. The information has NOT changed. On the website, it stated that the cc would not be charged, as I had four (4) wks to decide to cancel, to send an email with "STOP" in the subject. Since then: May 14 @ 1418- I've requested that England stop calling me and my refund be credited to my cc account with an email confirmation. On May 16,2020 @ 1024, I received an email from "Samuel", requesting a screenshot of transaction, PayPal email ID or the last 4 digits of cc used. To which I responded @1213, May 16,2020, that I do not have a PayPal acct, the last 4 digits of cc used, and a screenshot (again) of the posted transaction to my cc. On May 21,2020, @ 0904, I responded with information that they req'd, and by 1404, I rec'd an email with same requests. At 1740, May 25, 2020 I sent an email asking what they need to get this resolved. I stated that I've given them ALL the information (more than once) that they keep requesting. I stated that they know who I am as they get my name right and have been able to respond to emails using the email address I've provided. Today I sent another email requesting for a refund with an email confirmation. I feel, I've been more than fair in reaching out and trying to get this resolved.
Desired Outcome
I am requesting a full refund of $34.95 to my credit card and that the "Nutrition" program be cancelled with no further transactions posted and a confirmation email stating this.

I have been corresponding back and forth with Shaw Academy, to cancel an online Nutrition class that hadn't started, requesting in the subject as per there instructions "STOP". In there online advertisement they stated that the first 4 wks were free and that no charge would be made to cc. They wasted no time, charged my card! I made an error and thought I was registering for something for school. When I realized my error (same day) is when I tried cancel. It's been an issue since.
Since then, they have requested a valid email address that I used to register (this is the only one I use), phone number, and last 4 digits of cc used and proof of transaction. I have done all 4.
I rec'd another email responding to the above case # with Revdex.com, and again they state that they need phone number, valid email and last 4 digits of cc. They also request a PAYPAL email, I've told them many times that I don't have a PAYPAL acct. so if they are constantly looking there, then I suggest they try another tacit.
I have withdrawn my phone number as I was getting calls from England about the course that I'm trying to receive a refund for, and quite frankly I can't afford these calls.
I've tried working with giving only 2 of the 3 requests. Yet they still request the same information each time. I feel as though they haven't tried to investigate in other ways, and come June 11, 2020, will proceed to charge my cc for $59.99 U.S. I can't afford for this to happen. The exchange rate is not great to my disadvantage.
They have agreed to refund me - but ONLY IF THEY CAN FIND ME IN THERE SYSTEM.
I have enclosed pics of proof that they have charged my cc for the said amt that I'm requesting a refund for. These are the same "proof of transaction" I sent to them. And yet they still "can't find me".
I would think with the pics that they know it's "PC Financial's cc", shows the last 4 digits of cc number and proof of the date, time and amount charged.
I'm at my wits end trying to get this resolved. But because they can't find my email address, "I don't exist".

I have been charged an unauthorised transaction from Shaw Academy.
I started my trial with Shaw Academy on the 30/04/2020 for graphic design, photoshop and illustrator. I used it 3 times. I was notified when I had 48 hours until the trial ended and so I cancelled on 24/04/2020. So I was well within my time to cancel. However, the same day I receive no confirmation of this cancellation to my email. Instead, I discovered a charge to my Paypal account of £39.95. I immediately emailed Shaw Academy to ask them to resolve the issue, yet got no response. I then contacted my bank and paypal to see if anything could be done to get the transaction removed. They have blocked Shaw Academy from taking any further payments however they said to wait for the company to try and resolve the issue first. Well they haven't. I am willing to open a dispute against this transaction. Since the day I cancelled, I have been bombarded with calls, emails for offers and purchase options. No, I do not want access to a Lifetime subscription or certificates for all courses. I want a refund from this scam of a company.
Desired Outcome
I wish for this transaction to be refunded directly into my bank or paypal immediately. I don't want Shaw Academy to contact me anymore afterwards. I won't be using their services.

Charged for the FREE trial
Having signed up for the initial 4 week free trial. I attended two lessons that consisted of 25 minutes of a woman reading from a script.
I was then told I had missed the 2nd lesson (many times and still getting emails and messages).
However, my main complaint is that I have been charged two lots of £39.95 with no receipt or reason as to why.
I have tried to contact the company in many different ways with no response.

Cancelled online course subscription that ended up still charging my credit account
Facebook ad showed promising online photography course. Checked the company out - seemed legit. Enrolled for free trial only to want to cancel it. Website stated it had to be done via phone using a code that I had received via email. I called, went through long automation to cancel. They never asked for my individualized code - just stated that it was cancelled. Later found out I was still receiving emails saying I was not present for my course date and the teacher was waiting. I contacted the company via Facebook Messenger. They said it was cancelled and not to worry. I received the same emails regarding being un-present and found out that my account was not cancelled, but that my trial was extended.Contacted via Facebook Messenger again only to be, once again, reassured that my account was now cancelled and I would not get charged on my card..Guess what...I just got an email notification that 69.99 was taken off of my VISA. Contacted my bank to find out that they could not reverse the payment and that I had to contact the company. If they refused, I could go to my bank's dispute line
Desired Outcome

Was charged $59 after trial ended, asked to cancel membership, was told my membership was cancelled but was charged $59 again the following month.
On April 17, 2020 I reached out to Shaw Academy Support regarding a $59 charge that had taken place even though my account was inactive.
"I just received a charge of $59.99 to my paypal and I noticed my account is inactive and doesn't even have any payment information in the site. Can you please tell me why I have been charged and revert the charge from my paypal? Thank you!"
Received a reply on April 17: "We have reviewed your account and found that you had subscribed using your debit/credit card/payment method and availed of a 4-week free trial after which payment would be made. All aspects of this were made clear at registration, within your member's area and via communications. ... In terms of processing a refund, unfortunately, this is not something we can do as the course and all the related service were made available to you as per the terms and conditions you agreed to upon registration and the revenue has been recognized as per our revenue recognition policies. ... The first thing I have taken the liberty of doing is to confirm your membership is cancelled thus ensuring no further payments as I am assuming that is what you want to do, if you did not want to cancel let me know and my apologies. I am just trying to proactively assist. The second thing: let's go back to your goals for a moment, you joined with serious goals. I have therefore taken the liberty of speaking my manager and and we are going to provide you with 6 months access*** totally free of charge worth $399 as I want to and am going to turn this into a positive right now. I am going to ensure you benefit as much as the many millions of highly satisfied Shaw Academy students right now. I have gone and done this on your account now and you have 6 months access totally free of charge meaning you can complete the course you initially joined for and any others you wish." Attached is the full email stating that my membership was cancelled plus the promise of 6 free months.
Although I had been charged, I was satisfied with this response. With the membership cancelled, and another six months added so I could complete my course, I was ready to move on.
On May 13, 2020, I was charged yet another $59.99 to my paypal account, despite being told my membership was cancelled by the Shaw Academy Representative. Since then, I have reached out three times - May 14, May 16, and sent a new query through the website around May 20. I have not heard anything from anyone since. It is May 26 today.
Desired Outcome
As a result of being charged without my consent, I'd like Shaw Academy to take action and refund the second charge of $59.99. I'd like them to uphold their promise of six free months of their membership. Lastly, I'd like the diploma fee and Module certificates to be waived completely.

I Will Be Getting My Money Back After They Took It From Me
Cancel membership but still got a bill
I saw ads in Insta and registered for a free trial of a course. the course lasts for 4 weeks.I dislike the course and canceled it on website, made a annoying forced call, even emailed their support team to cancel. Now I see a bill? ! and I am a member now, paid 49.99 pounds! They are liar and they don't offer a reliable way to cancel the *** membership.
I want them to cancel my membership and I don't want to see any bill on my card!
I want them to cancel my membership, unbilll my card, and i don't want to see any more future bill on my card!
Dear Student,
As per your request we have cancelled your subscription. Please be assured that you will not be charged way forward.
Thank you
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I want Shaw Academy to end my free trial without charging me and I want them to delete my account and stop contacting me.
Dear Student,
As per your request we have cancelled your subscription. Please be assured that you will not be charged way forward.
Thank you
This company takes your money and runs.
I want my money to be refunded and my account to be cancelled and deactivated.
Dear Student,
As per your request we have cancelled your subscription. Please be assured that you will not be charged way forward.
We have also processed your refund. It will be credited back to your account within 5-7 business days.

I would like to have my money refunded. If i had logged in and taken the classes and forgot to cancel and then I would be ok with not getting my money back but I actually took the steps to make sure it was cancelled early and for them to tell me I didn't complete the cancellation process is another lie on their end.
Dear Student,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my complaint and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
I signed up for a free trial and unsubscribed immediately. I did not authorize any charges and after 4 emails asking for info charged 69.99.
I inquired and immediately cancelled the subscription. They emailed me several times for my cc information to confirm. I email ed I was not interested and do not charge my account.....the low lifes did so and lied in their response saying I didn't notify of cancellation. Why would they send letters looking for information??? It's a scam and I want my money back.
Refund my money and cancel any files involving me.
Dear Student,
As per your request we have cancelled your subscription. Please be assured that you will not be charged way forward.
We have also processed your refund. It will be credited back to your account within 5-7 business days.

I am seeking a full refund back to my card.
Dear Student,
As per your request we have cancelled your subscription. Please be assured that you will not be charged way forward.

I am requesting a full refund of $34.95 to my credit card and that the "Nutrition" program be cancelled with no further transactions posted and a confirmation email stating this.
Dear student,
We're sorry to know you were less than satisfied with Shaw Academy. We give the highest priority to the quality of education and support to our students and we would like to make things right.
But we could not find a subscription linked to the email id "***@hotmail.com"
Please share your registered email id or you can also contact us directly at ***@shawacademy.com for refund related assistance.
Thank you
I have been corresponding back and forth with Shaw Academy, to cancel an online Nutrition class that hadn't started, requesting in the subject as per there instructions "STOP".
Dear Student,
We apologize for the inconvenience caused. Your refund has been processed as per your request. It will be credited back to your account within 5-7 business days.

I wish to have a full refund of both payments.
I simply wish to have a full refund and then cut all contact with this company.

I signed up for a free social media course. Then I was charged for something I didn't want. I have requested a refund several times now. No response.
I signed up for free course. In signing up I was also charged for an 'upgrade' which I didn't want. I contacted them immediately to advise what had happened and request a refund. They asked me to sent a copy of my bank statement that showed that payment had been taken, which I did. Then they just sent me more emails advising they would just give me extra discounts on their products! I have sent several emails and it's really frustrating. Such a scam. Having looked on the internet, I see I am not alone in feeling robbed. I hope you can help. Many thanks.

Refund.
My class started on 4/26/2020. I had requested to cancel on 5/23/2020. It wasn't even 5/26/2020 yet and the payment was taken out of my account after my cancellation. My 4 week trial should have ended around 5/24/2020. Therefore I shouldn't have any payments removed from my account and I should be getting a refund of $69.99
I would like my full refund of $69.99.
Dear student,
The account was Created on 24-Apr-2020 18:53. Hence the debit occured on 22-May-2020 18:53 after the 4 week trial was over.
In every one of our emails, landing pages, offer banners and indeed the payment page itself, we do outline that the offer presented to you was a 4 week free trial which would run automatically into a monthly recurring payment if not cancelled.
If any charge had occurred, that you feel should not have, it will be refunded. Please contact us directly at ***@shawacademy.com for any assistance including refund-related assistance.
Thank you
Cancelled online course subscription that ended up still charging my credit account
A refund of the charge as I was told that I would not be charged in the first place

As a result of being charged without my consent, I'd like Shaw Academy to take action and refund the second charge of $59.99. I'd like them to uphold their promise of six free months of their membership. Lastly, I'd like the diploma fee and Module certificates to be waived completely.
