I was charged twice for buying a toolkit on the Shaw academy website and the company is refusing a refund.
I was charged for purchasing a toolkit which I did not indent to purchase. No confirmation is given before processing the payments. This happened to me twice and even after multiple tickets raised they are refusing a refund.
Desired Outcome
I would request the refund of the amount i was charged for their toolkit accesses without confirmation.

I never accessed the toolkit after the alleged purchase. I have also cancelled my course on the website due to such unauthorized charge on my debit card. I had reached out to the support email address for resolution but did not receive a satisfactory resolution. Below is the ticket number that was raised for the issue. Would request a effective resolution instead of email addresses. In the hope of a resolution I have also dropped an email on this email address. ***@shawacademy.com

This company is a total scam. and does everything they can to make it as difficult as possible for you to cancel.
when I tried to cancel they take you through several different screens before finally making you call. When I called, no answer. When I tried the following day, I finally got a person who sounded like he was in a busy coffee shop and I could barely hear him. I was worried we would be disconnected the entire time. I told him several times I wanted to cancel and that I didn't want to listen to his sales pitch but he forced me to and even raised his voice at me. I had no choice but to listen to him so he would cancel my account before I am charged the $69.99. He finally agreed to cancel my account and said he would send me a cancellation email to confirm but he did not. I am worried that I will still be charged and that he never cancelled my membership. I see several other complaints that people were still charged.
Desired Outcome
i want to make sure my membership is cancelled and i will not be charged.

I paid for a hard copy Diploma for an advanced course which I didn't get and then money was deducted from my account without confirmation.
First, I paid for a hard copy Diploma but I could not access the final assignment. Second, they had saved my card information and deducted money without any confirmation. I have been trying to contact them via e-mails for more than a day now and they haven't replied yet. I made a facebook profile amd posted on their page but still they didn't reply.

Shaw Academy should explain if they are accredited or not.
I have enrolled for one Program at Shaw academy but only realised that their course are no longer accredited and not globally accepted according to information from Wikipedia. My worry is they still say and advertise that they are accredited. One reason I enrolled is because they are "credited " so Shaw academy needs to explain. I have wrote several times to them to seek clarity with no avail.
Desired Outcome
Let them contact me and explain whether they are accredited or not. I am making a life changing decision. My other email is ***@gmail.com

I got charged accidentally as their website was acting weird. The materials never delivered to my account and they did not want to refund me.
Everything was working fine for the first 2 weeks that I signed up for free trial with Shaw Academy. On May 17, the website was acting weird and as I was clicking on the course, I accidentally got charge $39.99. I immediately contacted Paypal, my Citi bank credit card company and Shaw Academy to complain on that charge and request to stop the charge. Shaw Academy sent me an email on May 20th, saying that they can't refund as the materials were already delivered to my course's account. The materials never delivered. I now can't even access to the course because their site is not acting normally. It does not show the course anymore. I found out other similar complaints about this Shaw Academy on Quora site as well. Just want everyone else beware about this company before you sign up with them. It will get a chance to charge you on everything as your credit card info is stored with them when you sign up for membership and you don't have a chance to say no to the charge, and eventually you don't get the refund even though nothing was delivered to you. You can see in my screenshot, the materials and certificate will only be delivered if I finish the course, but they already charge me now. My level is intermediate, which is module 2, my account only shows module 1. And I can't even access the course as the course shows up in the homepage (3rd picture only shows another course that I enroll (photography).
Desired Outcome
Simply, I just want a full refund. Shaw Academy emailed me and said the materials were delivered therefore they can't refund. Obviously from my screenshot (which I also sent to them) that I can't access my course, I can't complete my course and the materials only deliver after I complete the course. Shaw Academy offers to give me other materials for free but I want my money fully refund. I only pay for what I want. Now they offer something even more expensive, but if they are not what I want, they are worthless to me.

I cancelled the free trial after a few days at the start of the covid19 shut down. They still charged me $69.99 over a month later & refuse to refund.
I joined on March 13th (per my email) I didn't finish the setup process because I was uncomfortable with possible payment at the time. I emailed a Shaw academy rep on march 17th requesting to be removed as I wasnt comfortable paying anything right now. I received an email back on the 18th and was told not to worry, I was cancelled I wouldn't be charged. Then over a month later I see a charge on April 26th for a fee of $69.99 to Shaw Academy on my paypal log. I immediately wrote to Shaw and they continually told me that I'd agreed per the terms and conditions and they would not refund me. I pointed out to them that I had cancelled (and was even told I wouldn't be charged) well within the timeframe, as laid out by the terms and conditions. I pointed out their own error and in the email response from them they didn't even mention how I'd pointed it our. They refused to return my money and instead tried to offer me to take classes for a $600 value!!! I told them I did not trust that they wouldn't steal that from me anyway and I was not interested in anything further with their school. I have additional emails and screenshots to confirm my case if requested. Thank you.
Desired Outcome
I would like my money returned, and to receive some kind of confirmation that I will for sure not see their name pop up on my bank statement in the future.

I never signed up for any courses at this academy and they continue to take money out of my account even after contacting my bank about fraud charges.
I realized 2 months ago that I was getting charged by "Shaw Academy" and I had no idea what that was, so I googled it. I have never signed up for courses or anything dealing with that company, so I contacted my bank for fraudulent charges. BOA put a stop payment on any withdrawals that Shaw Academy would try to do, so that they could no longer take money out of my account, and my bank sent me a new debit card. Then, the following month, Shaw Academy still managed to take money out of my account by changing their name to "Shaw A Shaw Academy" to get passed the stop payment. I called my bank again and they said the only way to completely take care of this is to change my bank account. However, I have my taxes, stimulus check, and bi-monthly paychecks getting direct deposited into that account, so I can't change my back account at this time without messing all of that up. Please help me stop these withdrawals and get my money back!
Desired Outcome
I want Shaw Academy to stop taking money from me for something I never purchased or signed up for. I want a refund for the $69.99 they just recently took out of my account, and want them to discontinue taking money out of my account from here on out.

Hi,
We're sorry to hear of your less than satisfactory experience with Shaw Academy. But we have at no point taken payments from you, or any of the 5 million students we have educated unless the student entered their payment details to a secure payment page and manually completed the transaction. In every one of our emails, landing pages, offer banners and indeed the payment page itself, we do outline that the offer presented to you was a 4 week free trial which would run automatically into a monthly recurring payment if not cancelled.
We request you to check with your family or friends whether anyone has subscribed to our course with your email id or payment details shared with them.
Also, if any charge had occurred, that you feel should not have, it will be refunded. Please contact us directly at ***@shawacademy.com for any assistance including refund-related assistance.
Policy stated my credit card would not be charged until 4 week free trial was completed. My credit card was charged $39.95. on the day I signed up.

To whom it may concern,
I signed up for a free 4 week course on Shaw academy. I clicked on a link to learn about a "tool kit" and was automatically charged for two "tool kits" when I asked for a refund I was told no refunds were allowed. The end of the 4 week course I went through a bunch of prompts to try to cancel my account ultimately being told to call a number to cancel. I called but the number wasn't accepting calls at that time so I called again the next day and was able to cancel however they still took 69.99. I asked for my money back and they refused.

Enjoying the trial period offered in order to attend and complete Module 1 and Lessons 1 to 8 for Photography. Over the past few weeks, I have noticed a difference with how my photographs changed from day 1 to day 20! Thanks so much Shaw Academy!
Deliberately misleading advertisement about the eCertificate of the course I'm taking on their platform
I'm in 30-day free trial offered by Shaw Academy. The free trial expires on May 21st 2020. I'm studying the course "Project Management" for free as is offered in the trial. During the first few lessons, I saw on their website an offer to get the eCertificate for my course cost £39.95. I didn't purchase because it's too expensive for me. Until May 14th, I saw they advertise that eCertificate for no cost. I was thinking it's a promotion. So I clicked purchase. But then it charges me £39.95. This is nonsense. I emailed them to complain about it and to get my money back. They replied that they can not refund and offer me some additional benefits that I don't want. I emailed them once again to ask them to check their misleading advertisement which causes me to click purchase. And again, they didn't address my concern about their misleading advertisement and continue to offer me more benefits which I completely don't want after witnessing their misconduct. I just want to get my money back.
Desired Outcome
I want Shaw Academy to refund my money.

Did not email me before trial period ended. Canceling was messy and complicated.
I was told before signing up that I would be emailed days before the free trial period ended and it never happened. Then I see that they charged me twice. In trying to cancel it is an automated voicemail that you have to hit the key multiple times to get it to cancel. It was horrible and frustrating. I will now have to dispute these charges. Not to mention they said that my diploma is ready and I never took the course! Its a scam for sure

Increased membership fee without notice, charged me after cancelling my membership, will not refund and lied about a purchase I never made.
I joined shaw academy to access learning materials for professional development. The original monthly fee for membership went up from £35 to £49.99 without any notice. When I queried this apparently the fee was subject to change without having to notify members. I paused my membership to stop any further payements for a month and eventually decided I wanted to cancel. I contacted their support team asking to cancel my membership and received an email informing me that my membership had been cancelled but I will be given access to learning material for 2 months. I was shocked to see another payment of £49.99 was taken from my account this month (May 2020). I contacted the support team immediately, forwarding the email that stated my membership was cancelled, only to be told I made a purchase which I did not make for a toolkit and that I will not be refunded. I have contacted my bank and will attempt to retrieve the money that way but I am sickened and shocked to be robbed in this way.
Desired Outcome

By now, Shaw Academy should have provided with me with that priority email address or taken the matter seriously enough to know a refund is the only option!
Shaw Academy refused to be truthful about the circumstances and I have been lied to about activity on my account twice in order to avoid refunding the money they illegally took from my account. Not only was I lied to about my activity and refused a refund, I was then offered credit.
This is a blatant scam and an insult to my intelligence. I had provided Shaw Academy the email that was sent to me on the 9th of April 2020 to confirm my membership was cancelled so it should not have to go this far.
After a quick google search it has come to my attention that I am one of many customers Shaw Academy have put through a similar ordeal.
It is impossible to remove payment details from their website or to manually cancel membership without calling a telephone number. The telephone number provided should be unique to each student however, when I called the number an automated messaged identified a different student. I made several attempts to call this telephone number and eventually was asked to enter my student i.d. number, conveniently for Shaw Academy, the student identification number was not recognised thus making it impossible for me to complete the cancellation of my membership.
With all of this being said, I have no reason to believe this was not a mistake but a deliberate attempt to protect their revenue and illegaly charge individuals for products they did not order. I have exhausted all attempts to contact Shaw Academy directly only to be lied to and refused a refund.
I have notified my bank and informed them of the unauthorised payment and I awaiting the outcome of this. I ask that the Revdex.com consider the possibility of investigating Shaw Academy further or flagging them to necessary regulatory industry bodies. I am currently looking into this.

Free courses aren't free, and they deduct money without prior notifications even after cancelation of thier services
Signed my wife up to do a free course, should have known something was fishy when they asked for my credit card details to sign up, before the end of the course (during the free period still) she decided to cancel the subscription. They make it near impossible to do so, having to go through a painfull 15mins with one of the telephonic robots they keeps trying to sell you something else other than letting you cancel. We eventually cancelled through an email and got confirmation back from them acknowledging the cancelation. 3 days later they debited my account R399 , when checking back with them they deny that we cancelled. we have email proof with dates and they still deny it ... All I want is my money back, and a guarantee from them that they wont carry on debiting my account.

I submitted a request to cancel my subscription and was issued false references to complete the process on time.
Shaw Academy representatives are thieves and dishonest people in the cancellation department. On May 2nd, 2020 I submitted a subscription cancellation request prior to the ending of my free trial on May 4th, 2020. The cancellation department provided me with a reference number XXXXX and a country number *** to call back in case I did not receive a call from them, which I never did receive on May 3rd, 2020. The company is still refusing to honor my subscription refund that caused my bank account to overdraft $104.99 in this pandemic crisis. In addition, I made sure to pay for all my tool kits at $39.95 per kit as necessary on April 15th, 2020 and on April 16th, 2020. Upon completion of my course, I paid for my E-certificate at $19.64 on May 4th, 2020 via PayPal plus an additional international transaction fee of $0.59 on May 5th, 2020 which I have yet to receive as promised via email. I was excited at first to complete the one complimentary course module as was advertised and after signing up, I realize it was a complete false advertisement, and I still manage to fulfill my training as this was my first time into the trading industry. As a result to honoring my refund request, they are using the terms and conditions policy as a counteract and planning to give me free courses when I still would have to purchase tool kits and E-certificates. They make it inconvenient for subscribers to cancel on time by making them wait on a call from their representatives and if no one calls, then you will have to call in and confirm the cancellation request with the reference number that is untraceable. This does not resolve my issue with the subscription charge of $69.99 that I need to be honored and refunded.
Desired Outcome
To get my refund in the amount of $69.99 and received my E-Certificate e-mailed to me as promised.

I follow the online instructions and cancel my subscription and think everything is done.
Fast forward to Mid - January 2020, when I got a message for an offer to renew my subscription with them. Of course I was not interested, but the message clearly stated to reply STOP if I wanted to opt out. I did reply and thought that was that. Later I received an email on 18th Jan say well done for getting back on track! At the meantime I'm also confused, cause I have cancel the subscription previously.
And later by that I did notice that Shaw Academy is charging me (RM74.99) as in Malaysia Ringgit, even I didn't s continue the photography course. I really felt disappointed.
My credit card statement which shows me that on 19th Feb 2020, 19th March 2020 & 19th April 2020 is being charge by SHAW ACADEMY. And I'm certain on upcoming 19th May 2020 will also be charge from my credit card. Which is total (RM 299.96) for these 4 MONTH from my credit card being taken from SHAW ACADEMY.
I need a refund which I didn't join the class or purchase their services. That I have mentioned above.
I have try to reach Shaw Academy support team or their web page for further help to solve my problem but couldn't get any help support. And the complain email being send to their "***@shawacademy.com" no respond is given.
Desired Outcome
I want to resolve the problem with SHAW ACADEMY to stop the processed an unauthorized charge on my credit card, without my authorize. And I have canceled my subscription before the trail free course end in photography class (during January 2020).
And I want my refund back which I did not attend any of your online education or purchase any of your services in Shaw Academy. As we the consumer need to seek for help service support is needed, but hardly reach to Shaw Academy. It's hardly to make us ease in order to solve the matter.
Your attention in this matter is higher appreciated.

I would request the refund of the amount i was charged for their toolkit accesses without confirmation.
Dear student,
Our support team informed that the Toolkit is activated in your account and made available to you. Hence it cannot be disabled or the access cannot be revoked. Hence, we will not be able to process the refund, as per our terms and conditions.
But we understand your concern. Please contact our priority support team directly at ***@shawacademy.com for refund related assistance.
Thank you
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
***@shawacademy.com

this company is a total scam. offers a free trial but charges $.50 to verify my card. they make it difficult to cancel.
I see several other complaints that people were still charged.
i want to make sure my membership is cancelled and i will not be charged.
Dear Student,
As per your request we had cancelled your subscription. Please be assured that you will not be charged way forward.
The card verification charge is automatically refunded once the verification process is complete.
Thank you

I paid for a hard copy Diploma for an advanced course which I didn't get and then money was deducted from my account without confirmation.
First, I paid for a hard copy Diploma but I could not access the final assignment. Second, they had saved my card information and deducted money without any confirmation. I have been trying to contact them via e-mails for more than a day now and they haven't replied yet. I made a facebook profile amd posted on their page but still they didn't reply.
First, I want the hard copy Diploma for which I worked really hard and second, I want the money they deducted without any confirmation to be refunded back to my account.

I signed up for free trial for Shaw academy at the beginning of april and cancelled right away and received a cancellation email.I never signed up for any classes. The following month My account was charged $69.99.
Let them contact me and explain whether they are accredited or not. I am making a life changing decision. My other email is ***@gmail.com
Thank you for reaching out to us!
We will be launching higher Level Qualification very soon with a new partner. Our partner is a world-renowned university in Europe and we have been working tirelessly with them on developing the programmes. Until it is finalized, we cannot disclose the partner name.
Our aim is to provide the highest quality Qualification across a number of different faculties with a reputed accreditation.

Thanks for your understanding!

Thank you.
I would like my money returned, and to receive some kind of confirmation that I will for sure not see their name pop up on my bank statement in the future.

the email they need to look at is ***@gmail.com
They did email to my *** (which is the one I was communicating with them through) that they've finally removed my profile. However, I am requesting that the $69.99 they stole from me be returned. I attached in my initial filing a photo of screenshots, I included dates and If any further information is requested to Revdex.com I will be glad to share. I've already sent Shaw, via emails, my proof (which they ignored) that they went back on their own terms.

Thank you
Policy stated my credit card would not be charged until 4 week free trial was completed. My credit card was charged $39.95. on the day I signed up.
I signed up for a free 4 week trial on May 15, 2020. Their policy stated my credit card would not be charged until the completion of the four week trial, if I did not cancel prior to them. My credit card was charged $39.95 on May 15, 2020.
In addition to the refund I wish for a voucher for a free one year membership for my troubles.
Dear student,
The charge was not pertaining to the free trail offered. It was charged for purchasing the toolkit.
Thank you
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I have emailed Shaw Academy's "support" regarding not being able to access the account, which is where I assume the toolkit is within my account. Since no one has gotten back to me I have not received the toolkit and would request a full refund since I did not receive what I have paid for.
Dear student,
Our team had requested certain information from you to track your payment. Please provide the same by replying to the mail. You can also include the Revdex.com complaint number for our reference
Thank you
Shaw Academy
I cancelled my account at the end of my free trial and was still charged for a premium and they refused to refund my money.
I want my 69.99 refunded
Dear student,

This company is refusing to give me a refund and I emailed them to let them know that the account was made without my consent.
My card was charged two times for $69.99 on May 18, 2020. I sent them an email and their response was I wasn't telling the truth and they dont offer refunds. How are they a credited school and or business that doesnt offer refunds for fraud.
I want a full refund of $139.99 for whatever services they were trying to charge and a full documentation of how they retained my card information. I would also like to ask that this company no longer contacts me regarding this matter.

I would like both charges reimbursed. I was not satisfied and never wanted to continue but I was waiting on that email. This was one of the worse sites for me.

I want a refund. I can't even call it a refund because my money was taken without my consent.

I am currently looking into this.

shaw photography took over £100 without my consent
I signed up to shaw photography for a free course. Once this finished I attempted to cancel my account however was informed I needed to phone to cancel. I tried to phone and the number did not work. I tried to e mail and there was no response. Shaw are taking £50 a month and I have no way of stopping them.
I would like my subscription cancelled and my money refunded please.

A full refund of all monies that have been debited from my account.

Because we have gone through that process of contacting them via their email addresses before and they still made excuse after excuse and still tried to offer us larger and larger subscriptions each time "if we just made one more payment", we never agreed to the first payment... as I said it was my wifes "course" so the email address would have been hers *** at ***@gmail.com

To get my refund in the amount of $69.99 and received my E-Certificate e-mailed to me as promised.

Shaw Academy processed an unauthorized charge on my credit card, although I did never purchase of their service and class.
I which has taken the free course In Photography class during on 10th Jan 2020 ( First Photography class 1 ). However after the first weeks of attempting to do the courses during my free trail, I was unfortunately unable to complete any of the classes due to my own time constraints. And I decide to not continue attend the course, and cancel my subscription.
BASED ON WEBSITE IS GIVEN " help.shawacademy.com/hc/en-us "
(You can cancel your subscription by logging into Shaw Academy account.
If you have not added any payment details during the registration, then, you don't need to worry about canceling the membership as it will expire automatically after 30 days.
To cancel, login to your Members Area on a web browser using a Computer and click on "My Profile", then click on "Membership & Payments" ->"Cancel Membership & Benefits"-> Follow the online instructions.)
