This company has shady practicesOur loan was sold to them approximately years agoOver the course of them handling our loan we have been sent multiple letters for missed payments, not enough payment, not enough insurance etcThe most recent letters received over the past months stating we did not pay our payment for months and a letter of foreclosure In fact the payments were received and applied them to the wrong accountWe have an 80/loan so they just applied it to the primary mortgage even though my check had the correct account number on it Their answer to why they applied it to that account stating I did not pay the appropriate amount Their employee stated there was a $dollar charge for a pay off request that I had never made since we had not started the process for our re financeIn fact SLS has also refused to send me any type of monthly bill or statement they said they are not required to The most recent letter received today 4/9/after pm in r

I have had problems every month with this mortgage company since they took over our mortgage We are trying to pay extra in order to pay off our mortgage early - and every month I have to check the website to make sure that it is being applied correctly The first time I paid extra - they took it as a 2nd payment and took interest out of the amount that should have been applied to the principal If I pay 'too early' they apply the entire amount to principal and then charge me a late fee for not paying that month's payment When I complained to the customer service person that even though I write on my payment slip every month to apply the extra to the principal - it isn't being done correctly - his response was 'how's that working for you?' I was flabbergasted! So, now I am trying to set up automatic payments with the extra being taken out - I called once last week They said they had it set up They called me the next day about an unrelated topic (they wanted to know if I wanted to refinance with them - um NO!) and I asked about the automatic payments - and they said it wasn't set up So, I tried again to get it set up This week I have received letters now stating that it's set up - but my routing number/account numbers on the letters are all 00000's So I called again today - they verified again that it was NOT set up - I'm trying one last time for them to get this correct If not - I'll be refinancing just to get away from these people they're terrible

I had a second mortgage with Ditech (Green Tree) who sold my loan to Specialized Loan Servicing (SLS) at the end of July Ditch told me not to make anymore payments to them after July 30, I made my regularly scheduled payment of $on July 18, The first bill I receive from SLS reflected a non-payment for days which was incorrect After several calls to SLS they claimed that they had no record of the July payment Ditech informed me that they had indeed notified SLS of the July payment I have since paid this loan off because SLS is living up to their negative reviews They are no better than petty thieves and make the financial institutions look very bad I would not recommend this company to anyone

Be proactive! You cannot control who your loans may be sold to however if by chance it is sold to SLS do yourself a favor and avoid the headache of dealing with this companyThis was the worst years of ANY company I have ever dealt withThere is no one that will ever follow up and return a phone call, there is no defined escalation process they adhere to, nothing! They even managed to screw up my loan payoff when I chose to go to another companyAvoid this company by all means! I inherited an underwater home from my deceased husband and tried to negotiate a lowered mortgage rate with SLS for nearly a year on a modification (after *** sold the loan to them during the settlement of my husband's estate)The modification they sent me was $a month more than the trial paymentsI then was told they offered a short negotiated payoff and I worked with them for four months on that before being informed that the bank did not participate in that program

I have dealt with at least different loan companies that have managed my home mortgages and this one is by far the worst They do not allow you to manage your own payment modifications online and each time I have called to try to add principal to my payment, they have messed something up The first time, it just didn't go through and they sent me a notification of changes to my account showing that it remained exactly the same So I called again and she added the principal but said it would take effect the following month and that the payment coming up (I have had autopay set up since the beginning) would not reflect the changes However, she completely changed my autopay to restart one month later so the current payment never went through which caused me to incur a late charge So I had to call again They are saying that they will refund my late charge after my payment processes but that means I have to call back again All I wanted to do was simply add principal to my payment...this is something so easy and fundamental and they can't figure it out and won't let their customers do it themselves online
