I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. The business has already confirmed via email their agreement to allow the exception for the access to the single sports club as I was originally promised. They claimed they could still not confirm that I was made the offer but agreed to it as a settlement of the matter. Other than it taking over months to resolve it has now been resolved to my satisfaction assuming future renewal years will continue to carry this exception as my *** membership offer was lifetime as long as renewed annually

Revdex.com:Hour Fitness has continually proved utter disregard for the Revdex.com process. A excerpt from the 'on-hold' message while on the phone with the Revdex.com of San Diego: "We are here to ensure that business are held to the highest ethical and moral standards...please let us know about business that make promises or mislead customers." I implore the Revdex.com of San Diego to uphold these self imposed policies in this clear case of ethical and moral injustice coupled with outright lying and intentionally misleading customers. This particular instance is the reason why the Revdex.com exists...their mission has been heard loud and clear yet Hour Fitness thinks they are above the Revdex.com
The Revdex.com of San Diego advertised that it wants to know when companies lie. The salesmen told me and countless others about the Lifetime Membership and the benefit of the dues never increasing for your lifetime. I have addressed the claim with numerous Hour employees over the phone and within this correspondence. It has been confirmed that this sales practice took place ... My accusation about their lies has been substantiated and undisputed. They have had ample opportunity to refute my accusations and they will not do so because they are true. They have lied. They have admitted it and now they must be judged for it
This can also be called 'misleading your customers.' Another key point the Revdex.com of San Diego is out to rectify. Now is that chance. Customers were clearly told that Lifetime Memberships would not increase for the "lifetime" of the member...that's why they named it that for God's sakeThe most recent canned response, however, says an increase is allowed. So why not increase my dues to $10,a year. Sounds outrageous huh? Well with their rational, they are well within their rights to do that...good thing to Revdex.com exists to be watchful for this obvious unethical practice. We all agree that the ethical line would be well crossed with a $10,a year fee, and my contention is that the line would have been crossed well before that and well before they jacked my rate up 116% overnight....that's right! 116%!!! Well beyond any ethical morality they could give a defense for. I have asked numerous times for an explanation about how this is ethical and they have still refused to answerAnother fact that remains undisputed
In fact, the contract I have from says nothing about an annual renewal increase after the first 12-month renewal termIt does say that a month-to-month member can only be subject to a 3% increase a year. 3% is the only mention of any increase limit what so everSo how can they justify this obvious discriminatory practice of increasing the rate 116% for lifetime member? They cant'...they've had ample opportunity to do so and have ignored that question entirely, just like they've ignored the rest. Another undisputed accusation
After days of back and forth, they have addressed none of my claims that clearly point to a company that has LIED, MISLED ITS CUSTOMERS, and implemented blatant DISCRIMINATORY PRACTICESThese facts remain undisputed. This is the precise behavior that the Revdex.com is out to rectify. I've asked how this is ethical...they can't and won't respond. I've asked how this is fair...they can't and won't respond. I've asked how this is not discriminatory...they can't and won't respond.
We have had equal opportunity to make our cases. I think I have fully taken advantage of that opportunity and Hour Fitness has ignored the process. The time has come for the Revdex.com to review this case. Here are the questions you will have to ask yourself about the UNDISPUTED FACTS: Is it OK that Hour Fitness lied about the terms of the membership? Is it ethical for Hour Fitness to raise rates 116% overnight? Are Hour members all treated equally or are there discriminatory practices going on?
I feel like I am back to where I started...with the same unanswered questions I began with in February. How many chances do they have to explain themselves? I've said the same things in my claim and two responses now....they have said nothing in two responsesThis cannot go on forever...make a ruling
What to do about the liesWhat to do about the ethics violationsWhat to do about the discrimination
The answer is simple. Award *** *** the $that was unethically charged for the massive increase for his and his wife's accounts and mandate that Hour Fitness honor the promised rate of $per year for the "lifetime" of the memberships. Companies like this need to be taught about business ethics, fairness, and discriminatory practices and if this decision is not reached then you can go ahead start re-recording your 'on-hold' message, because it will all be for nothing if you let them get away with this
