I have been a Sprint customer since 2000. I have 5 lines on my Sprint account. In August 2018, I upgraded the phones on 2 of the lines. During this conversation, the agent offered me a promotion for an iPad for $4.17/month. I accepted the offer. When I received my next bill, I noticed an additional $30/month Unlimited Tablet plan for data. I had not been told about this Tablet data plan. If I was told about the Tablet data plan, I would not have accepted this promotion.
I've spoken to Sprint customer service for over 4 hours. I cannot cancel this Tablet data plan. If I return the iPad, Sprint will charge me $459.
This is a total bait-and-switch.
They will make it next to impossible for you to close your account and stop sending you bills. Do not give this awful corporation your business.

Boost is (or, was at the time) owned by Sprint. Boost is Sprint's prepaid cell phone service. I have been a Boost customer since 2011. In 2016 I received a VIP offer to graduate from Boost into a Sprint plan. This plan would have 1 GB high speed data and unlimited lower speed data after the 1 gb runs out, plus unlimited talk and text, for $60 per month (I was already paying the same price on Boost for unlimited high speed data talk and text to my Samsung Galaxy S3), plus I would qualify to lease the then-new Samsung Galaxy S7 for $24.99 per month. No credit check, no deposits. It sounded good and I needed a newer phone for my rideshare applications and navigator, my S3 was getting a little slow, so I went to the local Sprint store to sign up. This store had a special offer running where the S7 came with a free Tab E tablet, and then 1 GB service to that tablet was $12 per month. For some reason, the Sprint rep said that he could not import my phone number from Boost because it didn't qualify, because of the VIP plan, they did not explain, but I didn't think this was too big of a deal, I just got a new phone number for the new phone instead. So I got everything all set up and it worked out for the first month. The second month I was very busy as a Lyft driver. The 1 GB did run out, however instead of switching over to the lower data speed like I was told it would, I was automatically upcharged $10 for another GB. Twice. I called in and found out that there was no such thing as changing to any lower speed data, there is only one speed, the 4G, but I could change to a 3 GB monthly plan which was more than what I signed up for, but still less than all the upcharges. Disappointed, but I loved the new S7, so I went ahead and accepted the upgrade. This was a big mistake because on the next bill and every bill after that, even though I was not using the phone any more than I previously had, the 3 GB were running out, and I was STILL upcharged for at least 1 more GB every month, PLUS, there were now some billings for the cost of the tablet that I was supposed to get for free from the store promotion! Long story short, I got too far underwater with all these extra costs that I did NOT sign up for, the plan went into default, I was not able to return the devices to the store because by now the back glass on the phone had shattered, and I ended up just letting it all go to collections and going back to Boost. Boost couldn't reactivate my old phone number because it had expired in this time, and they could not activate the S7 on Boost until the $945 debt was paid and the phone unlocked, so I had to get another new number on Boost. I am still using Boost today with the same (now very slow) S3 that I had before. The whole grandfathering promotion was worthless and stressful and manipulative, and the two devices from Sprint sit in my closet unused.

Sprint is terrible.
I would also like to give them 0 stars. I have been dealing with this company to cancel my line since January 2018 each time I speak with them they assure me it is being cancelled and then they turned over a bogus bill to collections! I switched carriers back in January of 2018 and today 9/6/2018 I’m still dealing with this. Avoid this company at all cost!!!!!!!!!!

Sprint cares more about obtaining new customers than keeping existing ones. I’ve been with them since 2016 and always paid my bill on time. Now my lease is up and I have to pay an extra $20 a month because of it. There was a “lightning deal” for $8 each on the new iPhone 8. I was very happy for myself and my wife well come to find it’s only if you add a line not the existing lines, which are $29 a month each, big difference. I’ll be leaving soon once I figure out a better deal elsewhere but I just wish there could be some fairness and caring for a good customer. Oh well.

I have never experienced as many problems with Sprint in the past as I have yesterday evening and in July (2018). I initially called in July to get pricing so that I could add a line and to have a family members line also combined with mine, which would give us a total of 3 lines & 1 bill. I spoke with multiple reps in July who were not very knowledgeable and I hung up each time more confused and frustrated with the information that was provided to me. My family & I gave Sprint multiple chances to keep our business, but they provided bad customer service. We switched to a different carrier Sunday 9/2 and I started receiving calls from Sprint that evening and multiple calls on yesterday. I was able to catch one call & the rep advised they noticed I canceled & they wanted to see if they could get me back. Now they have 3 lines for $120 with unlimited everything and could offer a credit of up to $300. Since they could only contact me, I said I would speak with my family & call back. When I called back, I experienced nothing but problems & no one could help me, or even get me to the right person/team. At this point I have spent 55 minutes on the phone and advised that I wanted the information for corporate. The team lead stated she would get that information only to put a manager on the phone, and she did not inform me that I was being transferred to a manager. The manager did apologize for this, and told me the Win Back team would assist me, & she would see if she could review any notes from them instead of transferring me. Of course, she couldn't find any notes & stated she would transfer me. After 75 minutes on the phone with Sprint I heard ''the number you are trying to reach is not in service". After 15 minutes the manager called back to apologize and now says she could not transfer me, but would contact corporate for me. Needless to say I was very unhappy & dissatisfied with the lack of professionalism and customer service I received. I never received the information for corporate to file a formal complaint. I have been with Sprint for over 7 years and this is how customers are treated when they are trying to give a company more business. Customer Care is horrible and it is difficult to understand many of the reps due to language barriers. This was a bad experience all around & I want corporate & other consumers to know about it.
20 years with this company and NOT ONCE have I ever added a line with out them making a mistake, changing my plan with out informing me, I cant purchase a phone with out them not honoring the phone amount correctly, if its half off it should be half off! but it NEVER is! SPRINT IS THE MOST UNORGANIZED, ILLOGICALLY RAN, UNMORALITY OPERATED COMPANY EVER! Their CEO clearly gets paid too much due to his lack of recognition of the issues always at hand and the numerous complaints against sprint, he is not a CEO he is a babysitter of adults that do not know how to operate below him, he does not create change, or repair, he is the change that is needed!
We went through more than a year of Sprint's harassment and decrepit accounting practices: We overpaid this rogue Company close to $200.00 just to get them off our backs(We were sick of the harassing overcharges and being transferred at least 50-70 times from one representative to another to get clarity on the billing errors). We tried without avail -- as you will read below -- to untangle ourselves from severe billing problems that cross the line into fraudulent charges. When we wanted to extract ourselves and cut off all relation with Sprint and terminate our service, numerous representatives harassed us stating "something bad will happen if you leave Sprint! It's a dumb move!" We thought we were finally done with Sprint, but then their continued accounting and mis-billing practices manifested itself in the form of harassing us for additional money due for "wireless service charges." We could not believe the rogue Company would continue badgering us even after we unintentionally overpaid them. They first had Diversified Adjustment Services harass us at our workplaces and after we filed a formal complaint against Diversified, Sprint hired Enhanced Recovery Company(ERC) for yet another round of gangster tactics. Now, ERC has continued where Diversified left off, going so far as to spam our postal box -- abusing the Postal system -- with mails expressing language to the effect of "We can work things out if you just pay part of what you owe and this will take care of everything." Once again, similar to the prior rogue company hired by Sprint to harass customers, ERC's gleeful, wheeling and dealing solicitation of an offer for help fails to address the core issue of why ERC fails to substantiate fraudulent charges owed and rather resorts to haranguing abuse of innocent consumers by misusing the Postal system to target their mail boxes, spamming consumers with emails, and making harassing personal and workplace phone calls.
Rogue companies such as Diversified and ERC are required to stop harassing phone calls upon express demand to stop, however they fail to recognize this and continue bombarding home and workplace numbers with absolutely no reflection on the consequent liability and repercussions from the employees and workplaces they are calling.
It is no wonder that Sprint faced severe FTC penalties running into the millions of dollars for swindling consumers of their money. Unfortunately, Sprint's abusive, tyrranical tactics continue trampling over innocent consumers as we experienced firsthand.
Sprint has the worst customer service and phone service. They are charging fees for which the were not suppose to charge. When they do promotions they get you to go with them by telling you you'll receive gift cards with money on them but they never will send them to you. They don't tell you that they will charge for what they call "FREE" phones. Sprint doesn't tell you once you've gotten to the end of purchase date for your Iphone that they will still keep charging which they call a leasing month to month. Per agreement we weren't suppose to be paying more than $180 a month for 5 phones, we have never even seen a bill under $200.00. The longer we have our phones the more money Sprint keeps charging. We are currently paying $360 or more. THEY ARE RIPPING US OFF. I lose calls all the time because the service NEVER WORKS. ALL THE Emplyees that we have came across are either rude or don't care to help. One emplyee SAYS he was gonna help but never did. I could go on and on. I WILL NEVER EVER RECOMMEND SPRINT TO ANY ONE EVERRRRR!
This company deserves no stars. Horrible customer service. You will talk to a different person every time. Each person telling you a different story.
