the cancel policy associated with each reservation. In this case, the consumer
selected a reservation that provided greater savings and less flexibility.

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:I have a growing feeling that Priceline representatives don't really read my messages, and basically fail to understand the real nature of the problem.Once again, there was no special request -- if there was one the hotel would have honored it, but Priceline does not even allow customers to submit that special request.Please see attached three screen shots. One shows [redacted].com [redacted] screen, the other [redacted] screen, the last one Priceline [redacted] screen. As you can see, both [redacted] and [redacted].com allow the customer to select the smoking preference. I understand that they might not guarantee it but at least they communicate it to the hotel, and the hotel makes a decision based on their availability. In my case the hotel did confirm that they would have honored the non-smoking request if they ever received it from Priceline. However, Priceline does not do that at all. Instead, as you can see from the attached Priceline screen, they basically mislead customers into believing that the rooms are simply only of one type, non-smoking.If, at the time of [redacted], I knew that non-smoking room is not guaranteed I would have not booked at that hotel -- there are plenty of other hotels and other [redacted] sites, but, once again, Priceline simply false advertised their inventory.I also believe they need to start focusing on improving their user interface and customer support rather than referencing their vague contracts, because that's what "Better Business" is about.Sincerely,[redacted]

As I understand, you felt the star rating assigned to your hotel was not accurate and it's not in the area you requested.   The hotel chains listed in the Star Level descriptions are for example only and do not necessarily reflect hotels that participate in the Priceline's Express Deal program. Keep in mind that not all properties under a single chain will hold the same star level rating. While we may offer the name of a hotel chain as an example for a specific star rating, individual properties within that chain may actually have a higher or lower star rating based on the actual quality of that property. We have researched to find that this hotel does meet our expectations for a 2.5 star rating selected on our website. Our competitors like [redacted]r and Hotels.com, also gave this hotel a 2.5 star rating.   In addition, we reviewed the location of your confirmed hotel. The hotel you received is in fact in the [redacted] MoPac area of the map that you reviewed on our website. When you were submitting your request, our website stated that your confirmed hotel could be located anywhere within that shaded area.   Based on the Hotels cancel policy, the Express Deal is normally a non-refundable reservation; however, we came to a decision to allow a one time exception and processed a full refund. We see that in spite of your issue with this hotel, you still opted to book another reservation for the same date using our website. A refund for 135.98 USD was processed today, October 3, 2017. The refund will be processed through our system within one business day. Your bank will post the refund to your account. I am rejecting this response because: I arrived at the hotel the night of 4th of November and explain the reason why my friends can't stay in the hotel for 8 days. The hotel receptionist told me to call priceline.com customer service to explain to them and I did, the priceline.com customer service representative I spoke with told me that we should not check-in after we both agreed that priceline.com will deduct 2 night from the 8 nights as penalty and 6 nights would be refunded. She gave me a case number and told me to call back after 2 days if I did not receive the refund, she also obtained my consent for cancellation and refund.

I am rejecting this response because: when Priceline advertises "Best Price Guarantee" they don't make a mention of the 24 hr window that is needed. Had I known this and if they did their due diligence to make their customers aware of that,  maybe providing the link that you provided now about the 24 hr policy once I made the reservation ,then I would have acted accordingly. I don't feel like you care about your paying customers and it is how you train your employees too. It is sad that your company doesn't consider it important to make your customers happy ESPECIALLY considering how much competiton you have.Also, providing me with the link to your policy is a dismissal to my complaint.
