I have
received the consumer’s additional comments.  As you requested, we have
again reviewed this matter to see if we overlooked anything that might support
a more favorable conclusion. Airlines do not allow
placement to alternate airlines unless they are unable to provide
transportation, which was not the case here. The airline granted the consumer’s
request for a refund of the return portion and we are unable to reimburse the
cost of the new ticket, which the consumer elected to purchase. Unfortunately, there is nothing
we can add to what has already been stated in our previous correspondence. We
are sorry that we are unable to assist the consumer any further in this
situation.

well... now I'm seeing how unaware or unconcerned the business is with satisfaction or appeasing a situation. I stated in the first letter that I called their 800 line for customer service and after a lengthy count down from the upper 60's on two occasions it apologized for being unable to continue and disconnected me both times, twice tried to reach the customer service online and both times also received the message that this was unable to proceed with the action, these were done immediately after booking the flights on the 28th,and I also apologize for having holiday/family events the 29th and not once again getting aggravated with this service but instead waiting to write a letter when available

declined.I have carefully reviewed your reservation and based on our investigation, our agent did not confirm that you would be refunded 100.00 USD if your credit card application was declined. This promotion, in partnership with [redacted], does not actually refund, instead, if your credit card application is approved and used to book a reservation on priceline.com, you will be provided 100.00 USD statement credit which will be shown in your first month billing statement. When you called us and asked if you will still get the 100.00 USD discount, the agent was unable to provide you with an appropriate answer, thus, the call was conferenced with a [redacted] sales agent. When you asked again what if you will not be approved, the agent advised you to call back at a later time when their system is already updated whether your credit card application is approved or not. We are writing to let you know that we received your
email in our Executive Offices.
 
We understand you are requesting for a refund of your
reservation and additional compensation because you advised your room was
double booked and was booked for the wrong dates. We reviewed your information
and verified that the check in and check out dates booked were the same dates
requested prior to purchase. Please note that our ability to change or cancel a
reservation would depend on the cancel policy presented and initialed prior to
purchase. We sent you a separate email that shows a copy of your contract page
for review. Your reservation was booked for check in on January 24, 2016 and
check out on January 25, 2016. Your reservation is prepaid and was guaranteed
for the dates requested prior to purchase. The hotel informed us that you
arrived on January 12, 2016 and made reservations through them as a walk in
guest for that night. The hotel informed us that they charged your credit card
for the room and tax. The hotel informed us the reservation purchased through
us was a no show and is non refundable. As a one time exception to the cancel
policy, a refund request of your total reservation cost in the amount of 96.71
USD was submitted to our management team for review, and if approved, the
refund will be processed to the card you used to submit your request. This
process can take up to 14 days. We will try to expedite this process. Once the
refund is approved, your refund will be processed by our system within 1
business day; however, it may take up to 5 business days for your bank to post
the refund to your account. We apologize, we will be unable to issue further
refunds or compensations.

I am rejecting this response because:No confirmation e-mail was sent after my bid of $14 had been accepted, Instead, I was offered, in reality tricked, into taking on the Priceline.com [redacted] Bank card along with  $50 statement credit towards purchase of this car rental. Understand, prior to my unfortunate experience this complaint seeks to redress, I did not seek a new credit card. However, as a result of this, I now have a credit card, but no car rental reservation.

I am rejecting this response because: when booking on priceline express deals or with hotwire, you are booking with star ratings and areas of where you want to stay.  We do not know the hotel until we book it and pay for it. The check in and check out dates, number of rooms, star rating, and room type was identical.  In order to find out the hotel name, I would have had to book and pay for the room.  Your best price guarantee states ,express deal, if you find a better deal, you will refund the difference.   And I have done that in the same booking way that Priceline deals.   If we have to pay on another website to find out if it is the exact same deal, it is misleading the consumers.
