Student Loan Support Reviews (329)

We are investigating the claim but client is not returning our calls.

We sent a termination letter and refund.

consider this complaint resolved.  Refund was received on 2/24.  I am glad to see it was resolved but it is unfortunate the route I had to take to get a response.

She already was told her refund was made - her bank may take 3 days to process it.

am really disappointed with this response. Firstly, I made several attempts to contact this company throughout the entire month of my cancellation. My emails went unanswered, and when I did get someone, they argued with me saying that I could cancel my account but refused to let me speak to anyone about getting my money back. The lady on the other end in fact became a blockade to my refund requests. The very next day, this company hurried up and actually filed the paperwork I had just told them I did not want, thus attempting to lock in my payments to them by showing that they did a service. UNACCEPTABLE BUSINESS PRACTICE!  I STILL WANT MY MONEY BACK!  I stand firm that the business is disguised to deceive people into a service that by all purposes should not exist and should be illegal to run.  Most college students can file their own paperwork, so the only way a business like Student Loan Support can thrive is to pretend to be the government. ]

This notice was sent after we already resolved the issue.

The Servicer through the Department of Education repayment was $294, not the $210 promised because the plan is based on income.   When someone misrepresents their income verbally and then we receive the Proof of Income and it is higher, the payment for the loan is higher.  The client does not pick up his phone.

We have no problem deleting any information we have excluding her name and contact information for our records.  We do have a problem working for free while she benefits and her partial refund was fair.

We simply asked for the cancellation email that was sent.  The reason we do that is because time had lapsed and we had worked on the file.  Emails can be forwarded.  We were told the cancellation email was sent to us on a certain date.  The client then said she had the email but...

couldn't forward it.  We can accept it by mail if it can't be forwarded.

We completed our work June 19 and submitted her file as agreed upon given the current income.  The government does not respond with updates immediately.  They will tell her that.  After that, the client actions are beyond our control - we do not know what she is doing and owe no refund.

They have stated that they need my spouses information in the letter however, they communicate with me! No one I mean no one has sent me any information especially in regards of needing my husbands information. I've called [redacted] and left a message he never called me back! As of March 6th there may have been an attempt to contact me however there was not an attempt to do a follow up. I have not been able to get a hold of anyone nor have been contacted by any one since... well besides the Department of Education. This a lesson learned and I have will be sure to tell every student of this scam business. I have records of all calls, letters( I should say lack of letters from this company but letter from the department of education and names!) I will be happy to offer up if needed. I feel like a pray to a wolf, and the wolf just had me as his meal.

We resolved the issue with the client

Client was contacted and is working with Customer Service to solve complaint.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.First of all this complaint really has nothing to do with me not being able to view the screenshot.  I already had the information that was emailed to me.  My complaint is that this company is attempting to take advantage of customers by offering them payment plans and schedules that are not beneficial to them.  Student Loan Support is buying out the student loans, consolidating them (which is there big selling point) and then overcharging the customer.  I only owed $10,000.00 in student loans.  The Student Loan Forgiveness Program that Student Loan Support offered me would have cost me nearly $5,000.00 additional dollars.  How is this of any benefit to me?  I need to know that all of my information is no longer in the hands of this shady company.  There business practices are immoral and unethical.
We have not and do not buy out student loans.  We did not offer any loan to this client.  We simply reported what the Servicer reported as his debt.  This client's student loan was assigned to a loan servicer by the U.S. Department of Education after his loan amount was first disbursed (paid out).  The Servicer has the balance owed by the Client.  This client thinks he owes $10,000 but needs to contact the Servicer to straighten that out.  Because he borrowed money and the Servicer charges interest, that loan amount will increase.  We do not buy loans and it does not matter to us if the client owes $10,000 or $15,000.  What we do is present the repayment plan scenarios offered by the Servicer and then help the client get their paperwork completed so they can achieve the results needed to be approved for the repayment plan they chose.  The benefit meets the client's needs.  This person's name, phone number and email has been retained so that we do not have any further interaction but any other information has been deleted.

Dear  San Diego Revdex.com,
I have not been contacted by Studentloansupport.us since Oct or Nov of 2014. They stated that they have tried to contact me but I have received no phone calls, phone messages, or emails of any kind. I had not heard from anyone since the 12/26 email from the Revdex.com so I decided to check the Revdex.com website. I found where a message was sent on 1/2/15 via email and did access it today. I am disputing their claims they have not contacted me in any way since 2014. I did call [redacted] their supposed "Quality Manager" today and no one from his company has contacted me back. I still want my refund of $795.00 as the loans were never consolidated. I am receiving a Total and Permanent Disability Discharge on those student loans as I am disabled.
Please contact me at [redacted] or [redacted] if you have any further questions. Thank you in advance for your help, I know you are busy.

You may forward a copy of your bank statement to [redacted].  Remember that it needs to prove you paid $424.00.

[I currently have [redacted] and have paid them on this student loan for several years.  The business I assumed was refinancing my loan was through another loan center.  They were/are very misleading.  I was fine making my payments to [redacted] and was advised not to make any further payments to [redacted] because this business was going to refinance and pay them off and get me into a better company that would not charge such high interest.  Their purpose was to help me get my loan paid off sooner.  With [redacted], I have a loan balance of over $17,000 and that figure has remained the same even though I have been paying them approximately $134 a month.  I could have gotten a forbearance or even lowered my payments with [redacted] without 3rd party assistance.   I want my money back from this business.  they will not contact me and I have emailed and called numerous times.  I did get an email that they would take it up with upper management.  I received this email about a month ago. ]

It is an obvious attempt of Student Loan Support to belittle any concern I have regarding the function of their company. I do not wish to get caught up in a battle of words, mostly because it seems that this company is all about that and overlooking client needs and wants. I just want my money back for services non-rendered and would like our information rebuked and taken out of company accounts.

To appease Student Loan Support...

Every interaction with Student Loan Support was brought about by me, not my wife. As a service provider there isn't any reason to mention that my wife is the client, as my wife was with me to verify any information needed to ensure it was proper that I interact on her behalf. That also didn't stop the company from processing the $400+ dollars from my, [redacted]'s, bank account. So if it was implied that interacting on her behalf was unprofessional or bad on my end, it only shines even brighter on Student Loan Support as the company never restricted my actions on my wife's behalf and never denied funds transferred from my bank account... weird that they would mention that.

I received 1 message from [redacted] on February 20th via telephone. This was during work hours. I returned the call multiple times, and left messages with different departments for people to get back with me. I received another call during business hours from [redacted] on March 4th, to which I responded and again was forced to leave messages in waiting for a response. I received a third and final message from [redacted] on March 27th to which I attempted to return the call again and left messages. There were many phone tags until the first of May. I was able to learn more about the company only after contacted the government, to which they responded and said that no payments were made to them for the loan, and that there was no affiliation with Student Loan Support and defined them as a third party.

We did not mis-represent our income level. In the initial phone call I gave our income information based upon the previous years taxes. We received a quote based upon that. This quote did not include the monthly surcharge required of the company. We already had a low payment, and we were informed the payment would be less. After processing our pay stubs, our income was increased during the current year which hired our quote to roughly $7 dollars more than what we were currently paying (this did not include the $29 fee the company imposed on the loan so total is was $36 more). There was some hesitation and discussion on our end as to why we would continue to change something that didn't need changing and would require a higher monthly payment. We were informed the services were worth the money, but we were told very little about what exactly would be done, even upon inquiry I did not receive any specifics as to what my $424 went to. The least I could claw out from the representative was that they gathered the documents (which we were the ones who did that) and then they sent it to the federal loan offices. Before the phone call, there was a payment taken out of $29 (which is the monthly processing fee which was supposed to be a part of the total payment per month???). Pleading with a supposed manager over the phone for some form of understanding, we were told that our account was non-functional, but somehow the payment for services was still processed separately from the loan, which we were never informed would be done.

There were no services rendered on our behalf, there were only attempts to get us in a contract agreement, process our information, and transact money from our bank. We would like all of our money refunded.

I spoke with the business and was told that they will no longer withdraw money from my account. Also, my loan servicer has corrected the error, but states that this company doesn't forgive student loans as they initially stated. They only get paid to hold the loans in consolidation status. I would like to discontinue business with this company due to their deceitful tactics.
