Synchrony Bank Issued an identity thief two credit cards in my name, even though the application did not include my correct SSN The application also did not include my correct address! I checked this with my trusted bank, and they agreed this business policy- issuing a credit card based solely on my name, and no other correct personal information is horrible My husband and I are in the middle of a serious identity theft issue Three Synchrony credit cards were issued to him two days before mine I wonder on the timing of this and question the reporting and due diligence of Synchrony Bank They were good about saying they would close all the accounts, but I don't have a lot of faith in their business

I called the customer service number (800-250-5411) and obtained a very poor connection to "***" in IndiaHe kindly gave me the same number above saying that he could not help meI called back and was connected with "***" in India [redacted] also gave me the number aboveWhen I explained that if I called the number, it would be the third call and I would likely get the same resultShe suggested that I call anywayI asked to be transferred and was given to a woman in the USThis woman also could not help as I did not have a power of attorney for the deceased person I was calling about (POA not valid after death)Thankfully, she transferred me to the 4th person, also in the US who was very helpful

years in business, yet they still haven't figure out how to properly track financial transactionsDouble charged my checking account for a credit card payment and their support representatives claim they don't see the first charge and thus cannot do anything to remedy the problemBoth charges have different ID's in the note so I know it's not an issue with my bankMy bank however has deducted both charges from my balance

Synchrony Bank are liars I had a credit card, originally obtained through GE Money for years and always paid on time if not before it was due The account was holding a zero balance and low and behold, they cancelled the account stating that my credit score was too low Saying my credit score was a which is NOT accurate I have been re-building my credit for a series of several years now so I check it regularly My score from TransUnion is almost They stated in their letter that they obtained my score from TransUnion Liars caused my score to drop points because they cancelled this card! I talked to them and all they would say is that the decision was a business decision and nothing more! I will NEVER do business with these people again! [redacted] should use another company instead for their Store Card I have a [redacted] Chase card that I would rather use anyway, but they had not business to treat me as though I had poor credit still!

Synchrony Bank is the worse bank to do business with They care absolutely NOTHING about the consumer They prey on the consumer however they can and will lower your credit limit to an inch of your balance, creating a cascade of problems that eventually negatively impact your credit score How can they be so callous? You can have the longest history with them, with glowing payment schedule...but one mishap, they go bananas and slash everything even closing your account without any prior notice Calling them, is even more frustrating The reps and even managers behave like robots with little to no empathy Is there a way that these monsters can be regulated as not to hurt consumer credit ratings? Why would you lower a credit limit so low that it will negatively impact a consumer?

As a woman with dozens of credit cards, I can tell you that My Synchrony is the absolute worst! I opened this card at Sunglass Hut to save 15%The website is extremely confusingGetting a hold of customer service is mission impossibleToday I waited minutes to speak with a representativeI was charged a late fee, despite making my payment on timeThe representative refused to remove the late feeA pair of Sunglasses that I thought I was purchasing for $ended up costing nearly double because of random charges that were given to me without explanationI never missed a payment, so this was extremely upsetting and unfair to meI have already closed my account since I cannot even send a complaint to the company via the website and I am fed up with speaking to call representatives that can barely speak englishBy far the worst credit card company I have ever dealt withThey can have their $late charge, but they lost me as a customer foreverI will be sure to warn everybody of this bad companyDon't waste your time or money with this company! They will ruin your credit and instead of saving you money it will cost you a lot more

I was treated very badly by their phone agent and told to take my business elsewhere Applied by phone for a CD on December 8thI was assured that the app would be processed within hoursAfter days, on Dec.11th I called again to inquire on the app's statusAfter waiting minutes on hold the agent said I'd receive a letter in the mail within to daysWhen I complained he became upset, sweared at me and told me that I was free to take my business to another bank!!!

The business is nothing but a bunch of frauds$turned into $The overcharge is being blamed on a balance I paid off a month beforeI am being given the run around on resolving the issue, as well as attempting to close both accounts I have at this bank, and both do nothing but give me headachesCurrently in contact with a government agency to get this issue resolved, and plan to take legal action if no resolution is reached

I have credit card through this bank for Rooms to Go, put it on auto draft, months later got a bill station overdue balance, called them and got online with them and made payment all fine, months later changed banks, changed info online, In Jan got a statement saying over draft for Nov, Dec, called made payment ask him was it not on autodraft I was told yes but they tried to take it from old acc/ next month was notified through fraud alert credit activity, they reported to credit bureau I was late on payments, knocked pts off my credit score, I have disputed, and after talking to the acc manager at Synchrony was told to send a letter to the Corporate office did that, them called bank and was told she could take care of it in 7-days, Do not trust their online banking and would not recommend getting any credit card with themThe account was paid in full and on my statement is showed it was drafted 12/

I have been paying my bills on-line for over a year, without an issue That is, until Synchrony Bank took over I spayments every weeks Obviously, if it is a monthly bill, days should be sufficient for a payment cycle, plus extra payments through out the year It just so happens that my last payment, which was days AFTER my due date was credited to the PRIOR month's billSo now I only have days to make payments I set up payments months in advance, so I'm not late Now my same-as-cash account will be charged fees and interest because they take your payments up until days AFTER your due date, but they will still tell you that the account is PAST DUE Defies all logical reasoning VERY UNHAPPY with their customer support

THE WORSE customer service I've ever experienced, no chat available, no live human being to take phone calls, hang ups from auto tellers, etcetcI have credit cards with this bank and I'm cancelling every one of them as soon as I can get someone to call me backUnfortunately they will NOT allow you to cancel them yourself, they must do it! FIGURES!!!

Synchrony Bank is absolutely terrible to deal with My Sam's Club Credit account is with them After having the account for several years, I requested a credit limit increase and it was denied They claim that I have too high of balances on my credit cards - the same story they are giving everyone else And "no", I don't carry high balances on my credit cards What a joke...I recently opened a new credit card and was issued a credit limit 10x my Sam's credit limit When I complained to Sam's they referred me to Synchrony and all I ever get from them is a phone message telling me to read the letter that they sent me in which they denied my initial request I'll keep the Sam's credit account, but I'll just use one of my other credit cards to make purchases I'm not giving this bank one cent of interest....they don't deserve my business And NO, I don't want a response from Synchrony teling me that they will contact me at the address they have on file I don't need another rude telephone call or email from this company

SYNCHRONY BANK IS AN EXCELLENT BANK, WITH EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE, I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THEIR SERVICE, AS WELL AS THE WAY THEIR PROFESSIONAL STAFF TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS (SUCH AS MYSELF), I WILL BE A LIFETIME CUSTOMER TO THIS BANK, AND I WILL DEFINITELY HIGHLY RECOMMEND EVERYONE TO SYNCHRONY BANK, FOR CREDIT ACCOUNT OR DEPOSIT ACCOUNT REGARDLESS WHERE THE BANK IS LOCATED, SO THANK YOU SYNCHRONY BANK FOR ALL THAT YOU DO "READ THE AGREEMENT IN FULL BEFORE COMMITING TO A YES WITH ANY BANK, AND AFTER YOU MAKE A MISTAKE, JUST REMEMBER TO TAKE A LOOK INTO THE MIRROR, IT'S NOT THE BANK FAULTIT IS YOUR FAULT!"

I financed my pet's surgery through Synchrony, and after being assured it was months no interest, I set up automated payments to cover it in five months and forgot about it, thankful it was taken care ofI was surprised to receive a notice of late payment two months after the pay-off, and when I checked my account I found they had been charging me interest the whole time, and now they socked me with late feesWhen I assured them it was supposed to be no interest, they said I was wrong, but if I checked with the vendor they would refund the money if the vendor agreedMy vet called to confirm it was no interest, and then they said since the mistake was not caught in time, we had to eat the charges anywayI never knew a bank could make mistakes and then keep the money if not caught, but I guess that is Synchrony's policyAbsolutely crooked and shameful! My vet issued me a credit (although it was Synchrony's error) and assured me they will reconsider their financing partners for the futureTwo days later my Amazon account stopped workingSurprise, it was Synchrony again! The customer support person from the bank had no idea why my Amazon credit had stopped, since everything was current and up to date they had nothing to offerI have changed my Amazon account to another card and am in the process of going through all my retail cards to cancel any that have a Synchrony connectionThe combination of dishonesty and incompetence is a bad business model, and needlessly expensive for consumers

I have terrible credit and had a medical emergencyI got approved for $on this cardThey have me year with no interest The promotion ended on 2/I fully intended on paying the balance then on 2/I realized I spaced out the payment When I called the CC they waived the interest! Super great company!

I have never been treated so poorly by a bank on a repeated basis in my lifeI have never dealt with a bank that has made as many errors on CDs as SynchronyI have never had to wait on the phone repeatedly for as long as I have with this bankI have never ever been with a bank that is this bad in the level of concern with actually treating the customer as a valued assetI have never seen a bank that makes so many claims about how they value customers and then appears to me to disregard there own advertisingI have never had people in other banks I have done business with tell me they would call me back and then not and/or ignore additional calls asking that they call meI have multiple CDs with them adding up to a fairly substantial sum and yet they still treat me poorlyMake your own mind up about Synchrony as to whether you think it is worth the hassle to do business with a firm that does not value you

Appled online for a gas credit cardI have addresses one where I recieve my mail and packages and one that is my residence of 35+ yearsI always use my mailing address Received a denial letter, stating they could not verify my idendityAnd reffering me to TU for my credit reportThe credit report showed both addresses.(My FICO Score is 803)Resubmitted using my residence address and received a denial letter stating "PRIOR APPLICATION SUBMITTED TOO RECENTLY"Called their customer service number 3x could not find any way to spreak with a credit manager but rep had me submit another application by phone which was deniedSent a letter to the credit manager and once again got back a form letter stating "PRIOR APPLICATION SUBMITTED TOO RECENTLY" Waht a bunch of impossible to communicate with peopleShame on for using Synchrony BankI now only get my Fuel an Sunoco who issued me a card after one phone call to clarify my address

Stay as far away from this deceitful company as you canDid a $0% promotional purchase through Briggs and Stratton and set up autopayAutopay was days late and took the full amount, $When I talked to customer service they told me I could get my money back in 2-weeks but since promotion had ended it would be at standard interest rates, 20+%Going to leave it paid off just so I don't ever have to do business with them again

I recently opened a new account I admit I was a bit leery about their Customer Service after I saw the reviews But, my experience was very positive I talked to two different Customer Service Representatives My questions were handled in a very prompt, professional manner I was dealing with a complicated situation and it was resolved with one telephone call I was just on hold for a minute or two

I have a Sam's card account with GE Credit (now Synchrony) My experience should be a warning to other card holders I paid my account in full each month with Sams/Synchrony by check I began to notice that my checks were not clearing in time even though the funds were in my account and availableMy conclusion was that GE/Synchrony was purposely holding my checks and not crediting my account until after the due date in order to assess a late feeThe first time this happened I felt like there was some delay somewhere that might have caused a problem The fee was $35! When I was SURE my check was sent weeks ahead of the due date and the same thing happened, I vowed I would pay these crooks off and never use the Sam's credit againThis is what I have done although at the end of the year reconciliation it showed I had been charged $in fees by these monstersI WILL NEVER USE THIS CARD AGAINI use Discover card and have never had a problemMy credit rating is above so I am not a person who is ever late or abuses creditUse your Discover card, or anything else accepted at SamsDO NOT use Sams credit/SynchronyBank/GE Fair warning
