If my name will not be removed from the blacklist, I would at least like to know what their policy actually is as far as how many returns are considered "too many" and within what time period.  It's very poor Customer Service not to thoroughly disclose a return policy such as this one.

Dear Consumer,After thorough review of your RAR, The [redacted] has temporarily re-established your ability to conduct returns between December 5th – December 31st. Please keep in mind that there are a few ways to prevent future denials for non-receipted returns with original tender of store credit....

Please consider registering for a free Pro Xtra account with The [redacted]. -      Always keep your paper or electronic receipt. This speeds up the transaction time and makes your return a receipted return.-         The most effective way to prevent future denials is to use credit/debit cards or customer agreements for your in-store purchases. This allows our cashiers the ability to use our Receipt Lookup functionality to locate your receipt on subsequent returns. -         Store credits should be used minimally and as an exception only. Store credits typically arise from prior non-receipted returns. Receipted returns where store credit was used on the original receipt are treated as non-receipted returns and are therefore subject to system approval. Also, utilizing store credits issued to others can negatively impact your ability to make future non-receipted returns.-         If you are a contractor or a PRO customer, signing up for the PRO Xtra program can help you maintain your receipts online, receive electronic receipts and offer many additional benefits. If you are interested in this program, please visit your local The [redacted] store’s PRO desk.  Regards,The Retail EquationCustomer Service

Dear Ms. [redacted],Thank you for reaching out with
your concerns over being declined for future non-receipted returns and for your
business.    After reviewing your request, Sephora has made the
decision to authorize the non-receipted return that you attempted. You will
have between...

12/17/2015-12/31/2015 to conduct this return in any of our stores.
Sephora has made changes to their non-receipted return policy and
have placed some limits. Sephora understands that tightening a return policy is
always a risk to the client experience but they have taken that into
consideration before doing so by providing email receipts, printed receipts, gift
receipts, and receipt look if you used your Beauty
Insider account/Debit/Credit Card or made your purchase online.  With that said, just note that [redacted] POS only keeps purchase
history in a rolling 365 days.
For your convenience, Sephora offers gift receipts at our stores. Please be advised that future non-receipted returns are subject to not being
approved in [redacted] system. Regards,The Retail Equation

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the recent response from The Retail
Equation in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this
proposed action would not resolve my complaint. Following is correspondence
from The Return Equation:
We manage the merchandise return database for [redacted] and
understand that you have requested that your return history information be
deleted from [redacted]’s database.  Pursuant to that request, we have
removed all of your personal information and all information about your past
merchandise returns at [redacted] from [redacted]’s database effective January 26th,
2016. You should understand that should you return any merchandise
in the future, or make returns using a different identifier; a new return history
will be created.

The Retail Equation

My original complaint to the Revdex.com indicated very clear
desired outcomes:

“I want all of my purchase history and personal information
ERASED from The Return Equation. I do NOT consent to The Return Equation's
storage of my personal information for ANY reason. To be completely clear: I do
not want ANY data related to me (driver's license, address, birthday, etc) or
my transactions at ANY store ([redacted], Home Depot, Saks, etc) in The Retail
Equation's digital or hard copy database.”

Thus far, The Retail Equation has not fully addressed my
concerns regarding the tracking of my purchases and the storage of my personal
information. The company’s first response (1/13/16) indicated they would erase
the specific transaction in question from [redacted]’s database. The second
response (1/26/16) noted that they would erase all of my return history and
personal information from [redacted]’s database. As is clearly stated in my
original complaint, I want all of my return merchandise transactions and personal information – name, address,
driver’s license number, email, birthday, etc – erased from all of the hard
copy and digital files in The Retail Equation’s databases/tracking software.
This means for ALL CLIENTS, not just [redacted].

The Retail Equation has not released their client list. According
to an article in [redacted] (3/16/15) [redacted]”. An article in Consumerist
(11/19/12) [redacted] (11/19/12) [redacted]’”

To reiterate: I want ALL of my personal information removed
from all of The Return Equation's hard copy and digital files/databases/tracking
software for ALL CLIENTS. I DO NOT consent to their storage (or their storage through the management
of client databases) of my personal information, including my transactions
at ANY store.

The Retail Equation has persisted in ignoring my very clear
and reasonable request. In the hopes that the company will finally follow through,
I will repeat my request yet again: remove ALL of my transaction and personal
information from The Retail Equation’s tracking systems and databases for ALL
CLIENTS.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.First, why do you treat returns with receipts the same as fraudulent ones without them? Second, why were you able to remove a denied return, but not approved ones?
Your statement that it is not up to you is not true according to [redacted]. They state that the decision is up to you. Are you saying that they are lying? I look forward to reporting that to them.
Regards,
[redacted]

Follow Up to Closed Complaint: [redacted] Transaction ID for newly issued Warning: [redacted] Upon being told that the denial period was removed from my account, I went to the store to complete the return that was initially denied and was warned once again upon completion by the sales associate. After resolution on the former complaint, The Retail Equation sent me a return report which is still inaccurate for the following reasons and also I believe are the cause for my inconvenience: -[redacted] : The other two returns from October 6th appear on the report, which were returned and repurchased. The transaction which triggered the last warning was removed, but not the others. - [redacted] : I purchased the extended warranty at time of purchase. The company's procedure for fulfilling the warranty claim is done by completing a return which is out of my control and should not be reported on my return activity report since it is not a return; it is fulfilling an extended warranty. - [redacted] : Again, I purchased the extended warranty at time of purchase. The company's procedure for fulfilling the warranty claim is done by completing a return which is out of my control and should not be reported on my return activity report since it is not a return; it is fulfilling an extended warranty. I understand that my behavior may be out of the normal in comparison to typical [redacted] customers due to: - More purchases than the typical consumer, I purchase from [redacted] at least once a month. - More purchases of extended warranty plans; I purchase on everything due to good experiences in my past. - All my purchases are linked through my [redacted] credit card, I use no other form of payment which groups the many purchases I have into a large account versus others will use many types of payment. However, I feel the logic behind warning for fraudulent return activity on my account is inaccurate and is causing much inconvenience.Desired Outcome: Please remove the four listed transactions from my return activity since they do not qualify as returns in my control. Please also update the logic for my account taking into consideration the quantity of items purchased at [redacted]. Please complete this over the next seven business days and please send updated report and communication when completed.
