The Retail Equation Reviews (415)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Lovely Retail Equation rep.
I am glad you are being contracted by The Home Depot. You do not make any of The Home Depot's return policies it sounds like. I am asking you than what are The Home  Depot return policies you follow.
It is you to decide of the denial I understand. So you have to follow some rules to say yes or no, please tell me about it, cause I don't know what they are.
I am glad Home Depot's corporate had spent precious time to review my    ""NO PREVIOUS ACTIVITY AT ALL REPORT"". I am so sorry but I keep looking at the same report, the one you were so kind to send me earlier, and I don' see any previous transactions listed at all. I can provide you with the report if you want.,but I am assuming you have the same report, have you ?
The report, under the denial paragraph doesn't mention anything about the high dollar non-receipted return. What it says is this:
"" Your return was declined due to your return activity at the retailer. Returns are declined for up to 30 days from the date of this denial.""                     That's what it says.
Ones again I don't see any previous transaction listed on the report.
I don't know what  was making you to believe, at the time of the transaction, that  I was using store credits issued to others.  Looks to me like another argument from out of nowhere.
So The Home Depot does have the right to limit of what types of returns. ?  So far none of your arguments seems to make any kind of sense.
Thanks for offer to contact Retail Equation directly, but you know what, check your records. It should show you I already had contacted you at least twice. Any time I have called I was instructed to contact
Home Depot head quarters, with no reasonable explanation from you guys of your denial decision. And you know what, I have called Home Depot headquarters too.
And I have heard from them to contact you.  What am I a ping pong ball or dummy from Jerry Springer show ?
Please give me the sensible reason for your decision, cause your arguments presented didn't  buy me at all.
Thank you,
Regards,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. My response to the business is as follows:
It seems that your company feels it has the right to change the store return policy. You state that your firm is correct in the no return that it created even though it is a direct contradiction of written store policy. There is no reason for a temporary change to a return policy your company feels it can simply place on my account. I will not accept a temporary lift on your self imposed change of a written store policy. I would expect to be treated as a valued customer and the Home Depot written store policy will be enforced on my account in the same manner it is posted by the company.

Dear Ms. [redacted],
Thank you for reaching out with
your concerns over being declined for future non-receipted returns and for your
business.    After reviewing your request, Sephora has made the
decision to authorize the non-receipted return that...

you attempted. You will
have between 12/17/2015-12/31/2015 to conduct this return in any of our stores.
Sephora has made changes to their non-receipted return policy and
have placed some limits. Sephora understands that tightening a return policy is
always a risk to the client experience but they have taken that into
consideration before doing so by providing email receipts, printed receipts, gift
receipts, and receipt look if you used your Beauty
Insider account/Debit/Credit Card or made your purchase online.  With that said, just note that [redacted] POS only keeps purchase
history in a rolling 365 days.
For your convenience, Sephora offers gift receipts at our stores. Please be advised that future non-receipted returns are subject to not being
approved in [redacted] system.

The Retail Equation

Dear Ms. [redacted],
Thank you for your time and patience. It appears that on August 13th, 2015 The Home Depot re-processed your return successfully. Please keep in mind the following when purchasing and returning at The Home Depot.
- Always keep your paper or electronic receipt. This speeds up...

the transaction time and makes your return a receipted return.
- The most effective way to prevent future denials is to use credit/debit cards or customer agreements for your in-store purchases. This allows our cashiers the ability to use our Receipt Lookup functionality to locate your receipt on subsequent returns.
- Store credits should be used minimally and as an exception only. Store credits typically arise from prior non-receipted returns. Receipted returns where store credit was used on the original receipt are treated as non-receipted returns and are therefore subject to system approval. Also, utilizing store credits issued to others can negatively impact your ability to make future non-receipted returns.
- If you are a contractor or a PRO customer, signing up for the PRO Xtra program can help you maintain your receipts online, receive electronic receipts and offer many additional benefits. If you are interested in this program, please visit your local The Home Depot store’s PRO desk

This is not acceptable.  I do not feel comfortable that you have my personal information and do not approve of this.  The fact that Home Depot gave you this information is irrelevant as this is still MY personal information and what you are essentially saying is that you refuse to remove it simply because you are being paid by Home Depot.  This is despicable.  I will be letting everyone know about your "privacy" policy of taking and keeping personal information COMPLETELY AGAINST an individual's wishes.  I will also speak to my attorney about the legality of your business practice and if a class action is appropriate.

Since
the original warning, store personnel have made exceptions and overridden
declines for this customer on 4 returns. Further, [redacted] Stores full return policy...

is
explained on the websites where online orders are made. Any return of online
purchases, shipped back to the warehouse, will be accepted. The
authorization system only monitors returns made in-store. The customer may
return any online purchase by following the return shipping instructions
included with her online purchase. As a final one-time accommodation TRE may approve
in-store returns for the customer to return the two items she mentioned in her
desired settlement.

I'm unable to provide the requested information at this time since I did not keep the denial slip, is there anynother information I can provide? Thanks.

Dear Mr. [redacted], As a/the seller, Best Buy reserves the right to store and keep records of returns and purchases.  The purpose for tracking returns permits Best Buy an attempt to reduce fraud and maintain as low prices as possible for all our customers. Due to this, Best Buy does collect data and tracks returns and exchanges through a third party.  Best Buy’s receipts and its website contain the following language describing Returns Tracking and collected information. Below is verbiage found on receipts and Best Buy’s website.   ON THE RECEIPT:A valid receipt is required for all returns. Expect where prohibited, we may request and ID. ID info may be stored in a secure, encrypted database used for tracking returns and exchanges.  For return promise details and a complete list of exceptions, ask for a policy flyer or go to www.BestBuy.com/Returns. ON THE WEBSITE:    “Why We Need Your IDLike many retailers, we use a third party to help prevent losses by detecting improper returns, and, except where prohibited, require a valid ID for all store returns that lack proof of purchase. Reimbursements on returns lacking proof of purchase may be denied or limited and state sales tax and fees will not be reimbursed. We accept U.S., Canadian, and Mexican Driver's Licenses; U.S. State ID; Canadian Province ID; Matricula Consular; U.S. Military ID; Passport; U.S. Laser Visa; and U.S. Permanent Resident Card. Our third-party processor may record your ID information when you return an item, and keep it in a secure database to help us validate future returns. If we caution you or deny your return, you may request a copy of your Return Activity Report by calling 1-800-652-2331.” Unfortunately, Best Buy is not able to remove any information collected for its purpose for tracking purchase and return history.Regards,The Retail Equation
