This individual contacted us seeking information on their package in December. At that point we explained our crowdfunding status and tried to make them comfortable with waiting until the new year to receive their package. They did not reply to that message otherwise, so we moved...

At that time we asked them to confirm their shipping information, however they were not comfortable with that process and asked for an immediate refund. We have emailed them confirming that we have processed a refund of their full contribution, and those funds will be returned to their account by their credit card company.We are very sorry that we were unable to assist this individual in feeling comfortable with our shipping confirmation process. However, we are happy to issue them a refund and hope that this resolves their concerns.

We have shipped to nearly 20,000 supporters at this time.  We expect to ship to you early in the New Year and we will have special deals available to you at that point. WHAT IS CROWDFUNDING? In case you are unfamiliar with crowdfunding, it is a new type of start-up platform where inventors launch a new product and interact in special ways with supporters. That is the reason that we charge your card now.  With all crowdfunding campaigns, there is a gap between when you pay for your items and when you receive them.  The “crowd” helps “fund” this start-up and gets Special Deals in return as a thank you from our new company.  We have a wonderful supporter base. You are all like family to us here at thingCHARGER. explain a little bit about crowdfunding. Crowdfunding has become more and more popular in recent years. Americans are enjoying getting behind new ideas and helping small start-ups succeed. Crowdfunding works a bit differently than a typical "direct sales" and we are shipping out in the order that people supported us.

When this person contacted us at the end of December, we responded explaining crowdfunding and offering them additional free gifts for their continued patience. Having spoken with them today, it appears that they did not receive that response.We have now contacted them via telephone and, after we...

confirm that their credit card dispute has been resolved, we will be thrilled to ship their thingCHARGERs to them immediately. We are happy to be able to ship this individuals thank-you gifts for participating in our crowdfunding campaign. We are sorry that they were not aware of our crowdfunding status when they selected their package, but are very glad that we were able to offer more information today on the phone.Crowdfunding does work a little differently than traditional investing. In crowdfunding, an inventor comes up with a cool idea. They take that idea to the internet. There, many people each contribute a small amount of money towards turning that idea into a reality. The inventor takes that money and uses it to create and manufacture the product. Then they ship it back out to all the people who supported them.We are happy to ship to this individual and will continue to be in touch via telephone to ensure that our communication is reaching them.

also wish that we could have gotten thingCHARGERs to our newer supporters more quickly.Happily, at this time the individual has completed the shipping verification process and their package is being assembled and shipped. We hope that they will be satisfied with their thingCHARGERs when they arrive. At each time that this individual has contacted us, we have been completely truthful and answered them quickly. During the fall of 2015 we did experience a shortage of units to ship to the thousands of thingCHARGER fans who are waiting patiently for us to fulfill their crowdfunding campaign perk packages. We are attempting to ship to our earliest supporters first in honor of their early support and are working hard to finish fulfilling all of the packages for our 2013 and 2014 contributors by the end of January. While there are thingCHARGER units available on Amazon.com, those units were not placed there by us or by our distribution partner. These are units that were acquired by a third party and have been placed there at a high mark up in cost. We are not sure where these unit were acquired or who has listed them, but our focus continues to remain on fulfilling our early supporters.There are a small number of units available in some Sam's Club/Walmart locations. These were offered by our distribution partner as part of a small market test. We are sorry that the availability of these units has been upsetting, however we continue to offer the best upgrades, perks and deals to our supporters.We understand that the lack of a clear shipping timeline for our contributors has been frustrating to them, so we have added a timeline estimate to our website based on the month that our supporters donated to our campaign. It seems that they may not have been aware when they selected their perk package that thingCHARGER is still a crowdfunding campaign.  With crowdfunding, an inventor takes a good idea to the internet. There, many people contribute a small amount of money towards making that idea into a reality. The inventor then takes that money and uses it to create, manufacture, and ship the product. When the product is ready, it is shipped out to all the people who supported its creation, as a thank-you gift. Because of that process, there is usually a lag between when contributions are received and when perk packages are shipped. This can feel frustrating, but it is a normal part of crowdfunding.  We hope that providing them with a refund has resolved this unfortunate misunderstanding.

We try to make our crowdfunding status clear in our advertisements and on our website, we are very sorry that in this case it was missed.As we were happy to explain to this individual, with crowdfunding, many people contribute a small amount of money toward a great idea. The inventors take that money and turn it into a fantastic product, which we can then ship to the amazing people who supported us. Because crowdfunding uses the funds provided by our contributors to create, manufacture, and ship our products to our supporters, there is often a delay between the receipt of funds and the shipment of packages. However, we are happy to say that, after confirming this individuals shipping information, we were able to get their package in process and it will be shipped out right away. They contacted me by telephone on March [redacted] confirmed my shipping address, and have promised to send my thingchargers to me. My complaint won't be resolved until I receive my products. 
The reasons given for the delay do not justify the five months that have passed since the order was placed and paid for. The company had all the info they needed to resolve my issue (shipping address, what I wanted, date of payment) when I contacted them by mail on March [redacted]

Currently thingCHARGER is a crowdfunding campaign which is why our process may feel a bit different. It is very common for there to be a gap between when your card is charged and when your perk package arrives.

[Idid not receive a response when I emailed them - only after I filed with the Revdex.com did they respond.  Also their crowdfunding, started in 2013 has raised over $1 milliion, yet this company chose to distribute their product to [redacted] and [redacted] on TV stores, rather than distribute the product to their "contributers".  The phone number at the bottom of the e-mail from the "distributor" went to an automated answering machine for "Change Your Mind Right Now"  not for Thingcharger.  Although they sent an order to [redacted] on December **, finally shipping from LA (not Las Vegas as most of their replies state), the product is still not on my doorstop - therefore I am keeping the complaint open.  Sincerely,[redacted]Assistant Professor of Nursing and Healthcare GeneticsClemson University

In reference to complaint ID [redacted], after you processed my Complaint, I finally got an email response from the company only they requested more money to ship my order and tried to act like it was a donation.  I refused to give them more money and after...

being told my refund was being processed and I would have it within 48 hours, which was today and I didn't show it was even processed, I Then contacted my bank and asked for them to dispute the charge on my card.  I explained what happened and they are in the process of contacting the company now.  Right after they contacted the company I received an update stating that the refund is being processed tonight.  Hmmm.  Wonder what happened to them processing it 2 days ago, per the email they sent me.  Anyways, this company is not trust worthy at all and really seems to be a scam.  I cannot say that I find this satisfactory, until my Bank hears back from thing charger and I have my money back with no dispute.
