process and to comp the $.15 difference between the shipping credit that was donated at initial contribution and the actual cost of shipping the package. We are terribly sorry that we were unaware of the issue and so were unable to correct it. We would have been happy to do so.At this time we have initiated the process for a full refund as that is what this individual would prefer.

thingCHARGER is currently a crowdfunding campaign. Crowdfunding is a new type of start-up platform where inventors launch a new product and interact in special ways with supporters. “crowd” helps “fund” this start-up and gets Special Deals in return as a thank you from our new company. We have a wonderful supporter base. The individual contributed to our campaign on the [redacted] of November 2015. On the [redacted] of December an email to double check their perk package contained all of the tips they needed and re-confirm their shipping address was sent. Ultimately the individual requested a refund. We processed a refund in the form of a credit to the card. At this time all funds have been returned to the individual.

There seems to be a misunderstanding over the final checkout process. While the shipping did cost an additional fifteen cents, we actually comp’d this to the individual as we did not want inconvenience them over such a little amount. We do request that people go to a link and re-confirm their...

This is a waste of money.
1. not as promised.
2. it only works on Apple devices
3. they will not take returns.
I waited over 8 weeks for this to arrive. When it finally did it did not deliver as promised.
We are not an Apple family. We only have Androids and wish to keep it that way. This only works on Apple devices. They don't claim or announce that in any of their advertisements, in fact, claim it works on all phones. It does not. I did get it to work on my old Samsung, nothing new. We have Samsung and LG's and it only works on my previous phone which I still had laying around.
When I contacted them, they kept telling me it has 2 tips and an adapter. Yes, I am aware of that, however, they don't work on our phones and I would like to return for a refund.
I was told No. If I bought a product in a store and I got home and found it did not work for me I could return it. But not this product. There is no real customer service to speak of, you must email and hope they get back to you. For me, when they did, they just repeated the same exact thing as the previous time. No explanations, just that there are 3 tips to try. Very frustrating. Do not waste your money on this. It is not so great - ads are all deceiving on purpose.

status and believed that we had moved to direct shipping. We are sorry that they felt badly about the email explaining that we were still a crowdfunding campaign as that was not our intent. When they emailed in December we were still working on developing a shipping timeline based on the month in which supporters donated to our campaign, so at that time we could not give a precise answer. We do have a shipping timeline available now on our website. Because thingCHARGER is still a crowdfunding campaign and we are currently shipping to our very early supporters, we have a final checkout to allow them to add any items that were not available when they originally contributed and to confirm their current shipping address. This individual became very frustrated with that process and we are very sorry that they were not given the information they needed to feel comfortable completing that shipping confirmation. While this individual had prepaid an amount towards shipping, occassionally the actual cost of shipping is slightly higher than the prepaid amount. When this difference is small, as in this case, we do not charge the supporter. However, we do want to offer an apology for the frustration that this individual experienced with the final checkout process and that this individuals frustration and request for a refund was not immediately acknowledged. We will be working on improved training to prevent that from happening again. At this time we have begun the refund process and emailed this individual to let them know. We will be following up with them as soon as the refund has been processed.

I am rejecting this response because I still have not received my refund. I got an email from thingCharger back on Jan **, 2016 saying that a refund was processed on Wednesday of the same week. Checked back with Discover again today and they said they haven't seen anything yet. Uploaded the same 2 photos to Discover and they said they will follow up with within the week. I will update my response once Discover confirms they receive my refund from this seller.

We are sorry that they were not aware of our crowdfunding status when they selected their package, but are very glad that we were able to offer more information today on the phone.Crowdfunding does work a little differently than traditional investing. In crowdfunding, an inventor comes up with a cool idea. They take that idea to the internet. There, many people each contribute a small amount of money towards turning that idea into a reality. The inventor takes that money and uses it to create and manufacture the product. Then they ship it back out to all the people who supported them.We are happy to ship to this individual and will continue to be in touch via telephone to ensure that our communication is reaching them.

Never received my product. Spent over $200 on multiple units. It's been over 9 months.

It is a place that allows them to add on some of the upgrades and types of tips that we developed, at their suggestion, during the two years that we have been working on making this idea into a reality. Additionally, during that development time period, many people have moved, so we ask our supporters to confirm their current shipping information.We are sincerely sorry that none of this was explained clearly. We will continue to work with our team to improve communication with our supporters and make sure that they are explaining the process, and why it looks so different, in cases like this. And as we begin to catch up to shipping to our newest supporters we will be looking into better ways to allow them to confirm their shipping information when needed.We are so excited that this individual will have their thingCHARGERs very soon.  We know that they'll love the high quality and beautiful design, as well as the convenience of cord-free charging.

I still firmly believe that thingcharger's marketing, and website in particular, appears to be purposefully structured to hide or bury that it is a crowdfunded campaign and not a regular purchase.  They have not address specifically their advertising or their invoicing which does not reference crowdfunding or a delayed shipment in any way.  They have not made any attempt to modify their website or marketing to address my concerns or the concerns of others that references to crowdfunding or a delay is shipment.  They have not explained why they are not following standard best practices required by kickstarter and other crowdfunding hosts.  I am obviously not alone in my belief -- try doing a quick internet search on thingcharger and complaint or scam.

It seems that they may not have been aware when they selected their perk package that thingCHARGER is still a crowdfunding campaign.
With crowdfunding, an inventor takes a good idea to the internet. There, many people contribute a small amount of money towards making that idea into a reality. The inventor then takes that money and uses it to create, manufacture, and ship the product. When the product is ready, it is shipped out to all the people who supported its creation, as a thank-you gift.
Because of that process, there is usually a lag between when contributions are received and when perk packages are shipped. This can feel frustrating, but it is a normal part of crowdfunding.
We are so excited to have reached the shipping stage and we know this individual will be thrilled just as soon as their thingCHARGERs are delivered.

We apologize for the misunderstanding. We do try to make our crowdfunding status clear and it is unfortunate when that is not sucessful. This individual's package has been shipped and is on it's way.

Seymour and his wife Amy, who invented thingCHARGER in their basement, bring ideas and ask for help bringing them to market. Supporters are then able to contribute to our project and once the product is made we will send you the thingCHARGERs you selected. thingCHARGER is shipping to the supporters in the order they have joined--so there is always a lag time between when a crowdfunding campaign bills you and when you receive your items.
