Revdex.com:
In reference to complaint ID [redacted], after you processed my Complaint, I finally got an email response from the company only they requested more money to ship my order and tried to act like it was a donation.  I refused to give them more money and after...

being told my refund was being processed and I would have it within 48 hours, which was today and I didn't show it was even processed, I Then contacted my bank and asked for them to dispute the charge on my card.  I explained what happened and they are in the process of contacting the company now.  Right after they contacted the company I received an update stating that the refund is being processed tonight.  Hmmm.  Wonder what happened to them processing it 2 days ago, per the email they sent me.  Anyways, this company is not trust worthy at all and really seems to be a scam.  I cannot say that I find this satisfactory, until my Bank hears back from thing charger and I have my money back with no dispute.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

We are very sorry for this individuals frustration. We do send out confirmation emails to our supporters when they contribute to our crowdfunding campaign and do not know why this particular individual did not receive theirs. Sometimes the filtering systems on some email accounts do re-direct our...

emails and, if that is what occurred here, we apologize. We are attempting to reach the individual at the email address that they have provided here to offer them an apology and work toward resolving the issue.Having reviewed our email system thoroughly, we are unable to find any prior emails from this person or from their email account or any emails regarding their transaction. We are unable to determine why their emails did not make it to us, but are committed to answering every email that we receive and usually do so within 48 hours. We are working to reduce that time further. We encourage individuals who are experiencing concerns to contact us directly at [redacted] or by using the contact button on our website. We are always happy to help.We are sorry that this individual was not aware of our crowdfunding status at the time of their contribution. However, we are a crowdfunding company in the shipping stage of the crowdfunding process. With crowdfunding, many people contribute a small amount of money toward a great idea. The inventors take that money and turn it into a fantastic product, which we can then ship to the people who supported us. Because crowdfunding uses the funds collected from our contributors to create, manufacture, and ship our products to our supporters, there is often a delay between the receipt of funds and the shipment of packages, but we are working hard to get thingCHARGERs into the hands of the people who supported us. When supporters who are unaware of this contact us, we try to offer them an immediate explanation and do our best to make them happy.  If we are unable to do so, we are always willing to offer them a refund.  We also offer a generous return policy and a lifetime warranty when thingCHARGERs are activated. We would be happy to refund this individuals contribution. However, at this time they have opened a dispute with their credit card company. While this dispute is active their banking institution puts a freeze on the transaction and we are unable to return the funds to them. However, if they believe that this dispute no longer active, we encourage them to contact us directly and we would be happy to assist them with a refund. Additionally, the units that are listed on [redacted] are not listed by us or by our distribution partner. These are unauthorized sales placed on [redacted] by an unknown party. We are not affiliated with any sales on [redacted] at this time and we continue to remain focused on fulfilling our obligations to our contributors. We are very sorry that we were unaware of this issues that were concerning this individual, and would be happy to help them in any way that we can going forward.

The business has responded.  Please see below:
We regret that the individual felt they received an automated response. Here at thingCHARGER each email receives a detailed response from...

one of our team members based here in the US. We do not use any automated responses at thingCHARGER and take pride that each email is answered individually by one of our team members. Our team member who answered the email read the request and promptly replied with a detailed response. We believe that the best customer service gives each person a prompt and detailed answer. To provide exceptional care that is timely we have team members working from the East Coast to the West Coast. This allows us to respond to the majority of inquiries within an hour. After hearing about the individual’s concern one of our team members contacted her by phone and made sure all of her questions were answered. By the end of the conversation, the customer expressed that she was delighted.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I am frustrated that thingCHARGER continues to put blame on the contributor for what he or she didn't do or didn't understand. Whether it wasn't watching the weekly updates to be informed of the status of the product or not understanding what was included with the thingCHARGER or what additional charges the contributor might incur, somehow it was always the contributor's fault or responsibility.  That said, the following list details what I would like done to rectify the situation and make things better with me: 1) Receipt of the second tip for all 4 thingCHARGERs purchased. 2) Return of both 30-tip adapters and replacement with 2 appropriate tips for my iPhone 5s. I was incorrect in thinking I had an iPhone 4. I apologize for that error. It was labeled incorrectly in my settings. 3) Either a reasonable explanation of the additional $6.95 charge or credit of that amount to my credit card. The figures in my receipt do not add up. Please see attached receipt. The receipt that was sent to me recently from thingCHARGER WAS incorrect. 4) A credit of $25.90 for 30-tip adapters purchased which were offered for free when I activated my thingCHARGERS on-line. 5) Shorten weekly tube updates to make more customer friendly and e-mail links for weekly updates to contributors. Don't expect contributors to remember to check for these updates week after week.

We understand this individual’s frustration in trying to reach us. We have responded to each of their emails, but it appears that they may not have received some of those responses. We are attempting to improve our availability for telephone support to ensure that when email does not make it to our...

customers we are still able to meet their needs. We are sincerely sorry that the address verification form was not allowing them to un-select upgrades that they did not wish to receive. We are always happy to assist our contributors when they encounter those kinds of issues. We have attempted to reach everyone that we can who has posted negative reviews online so that we can assist them with their concerns. We encourage them to reach out to us directly so that we can ensure that they receive the best possible service.  In this particular case, we are happy to have spoken with the individual and are processing their refund as they have requested.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. While I may have missed this "crowd funding" detail on their promotions (buried in fine print at bottom of website), I think it is bad public relations, if not misleading, to not to post it more prominently as a fund raiser product subject to successful "crowd funding", and delivery time may vary from 6 months to a year. I read other feedback and find my complaint is only the tip of the iceberg for their activity. I regret taking this risk.
Sincerely,
Timothy B[redacted]

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Although I have received my product, the business continues to only respond to some of my questions and concerns.  They have addressed my questions about [redacted] and [redacted], but have repeatedly not explained availability of this item at [redacted] before completing distribution to original supporters.  Also, they have failed to explain why they gave us inaccurate information, i.e. your items will be shipped before Christmas.  Finally, their response to not notifying original supporters that there would be an additional charge for adapters for older models of iPhones is unsatisfactory.  If they don't want to bother people with this information in advance (because supposedly so few people needed the adapters), then why is it ok for them to provide periodic [redacted] updates that could run for 20 minutes.  To me, this is a bigger bother and poor use of my time (having to watch a lengthy video to get simple updates, even implying some supporters were responsible for some of the delays).
I can provide supporting documentation if requested.  Thank you.

thingCHARGER is a crowdfunding campaign. Before we ship perk packages to our supporters we send them a link where they can add upgrades and select additional tips for their chargers. This individual selected an...

additional tip for the bonus charger in their perk package which is where the additional charge came from.   When the individual contacted us with their concern about the invoice we responded with an explanation of the invoice.  At the time of this response the individual has received all of their thingCHARGERs and their tips.

Revdex.com:At this time, I have not been contacted by thingCHARGER Inc. regarding complaint ID [redacted].Sincerely,[redacted]

We find it unfortunate when there is a misunderstanding. At the time of this complaint the individual had already received their thingCHARGERs.   I would like to explain a little bit about crowdfunding. Crowdfunding has become more and more popular in recent years. Americans are enjoying...

getting behind new ideas and helping small start-ups succeed. Crowdfunding works a bit differently than a typical "direct sales" and we are shipping out in the order that people supported us.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
My wife's e-mails to them were ignored, not mine.  The Revdex.com should monitor social media for this company, they will find that there are many people that have the same complaints that I had.

We find it unfortunate when there is a misunderstanding, and our Contributor Care team responded and offered a free upgrade for the confusion. Ultimately the individual wanted a refund and one was processed on the [redacted] of December, two days before this complaint was filed.    At the time of...

this transaction, thingCHARGER was still a crowdfunding campaign. Our website, the video, and our FAQ’s all explained this.    thingCHARGER is a small startup with a team of people who are extremely committed to getting thingCHARGER to all of our contributors. We began shipping September [redacted] 2015 and have continued to ship as fast as we can.

We are thrilled that this individual was able to complete the shipping confirmation with no additional charges and that their thingCHARGERs are already on the way.
While the final checkout does include a place to add items, it is not required and we are always happy to assist those...

who encounter difficulty with the process. We are very sorry that this individual was unaware of our crowdfunding status when they first contributed to our campaign in October and that they found the address confirmation process upsetting. We hope that others who experience frustration contact us directly to answer their questions or address their concerns. We are always happy to do so.

During the time frame of this transaction thingCHARGER was
still a crowdfunding project and not accepting direct orders. The confirmation
email that she received was confirming the perk package that was selected. thingCHARGER has customer support agents returning phone
calls and...

responding to email inquiries. We received our first email
communication from her on the [redacted] of December and responded on the
same day. She was offered an upgrade to stick with the campaign until the New
Year. Ultimately she requested a refund and one was processed on the [redacted] of December. It’s unfortunate when we hear of confusion about our
crowdfunding campaign. We do provide information about our campaign on the home
page of the website, in our FAQs, in the video that auto plays and a disclaimer
is listed in the shopping cart.

At the time of this complaint thingCHARGER is still a crowdfunding campaign and we are proud to say we began shipping our beautiful product in September and continue to ship as quickly as we can.It seems that the individual did not realize this and we apologize for the confusion. Prior...

to this complaint being filed we had been in contact with the individual and a refund had already been issued.

At the time of this writing thingCHARGER is still a crowdfunding campaign. The wonderful part of crowdfunding is that supporters will be able to help fund the creation of the product that an inventor has created. People like [redacted], who invented thingCHARGER in their basement, ask...

for help bringing them to market.   Supporters are then able to contribute to our project and once the product is made we will send you the thingCHARGERs you selected as a thank-you for your gracious support. By supporting our campaign, supporters are getting special deals on thingCHARGERs.

We have answered this individual each time that they emailed us. We did notice that they seem to have some difficulty receiving our emails as they mentioned that they located at least one of our messages in their spam filter.  We are sorry that they have experienced frustration and have been...

attempting to resolve this with them. When they first contacted us in June, we explained our crowdfunding status and that we had not yet reached the shipping phase of the process. With crowdfunding, an inventor takes a good idea to the internet. There, many people contribute a small amount of money towards making that idea into a reality. The inventor then takes that money and uses it to create, manufacture, and ship the product. When the product is ready, it is then shipped out to all the people who supported its creation, as a thank-you gift.Because of that process, there is usually a lag between when contributions are received and when perk packages are shipped. This can feel frustrating, but it is a normal part of crowdfunding. We began shipping at the end of September 2015 and have shipped to almost all of our 2013 and 2014 contributors. We are now shipping to our earliest 2015 supporters. However, when this individual contacted us this week asking for a refund, we apologized for the wait and offered them the choice between shipping and a refund. Since they did not confirm their shipping information, we were moving forward with a refund prior to our receipt of this complaint. We have emailed the individual to let them know that we have begun their refund and to allow 2-3 business days for that to process. We would like to assure this individual that thingCHARGERs are shipping to our supporters and that we are not a scam. We are sorry that the natural delay between contribution and shipping made them worry. We hope to have them back as a customer soon.
